Now the Liberator Restaurant. Coped with 25 bikers in a friendly way. Great venue for a rideout. Very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Could have sat there all day watching the planes. Plenty of bike parking. Will the breakfasts win a prize for best or biggest. No but the food was perfectly nice and the over all experience made for one of favourite destinations. Thankyou for making us all so welcome. A nice sausage added to the breakfast would be awesome 😁

Sadly Jimmy's Cafe is no longer operating at Old Buckenham Airfield.....The Jimmys Cafe experience with Great home made food was exceptional, Tricia you will be missed....Thank You for Everything, it just won't be the same. It's replacement, new name, new menu etc., is disappointing.....reduced options, no vegan or vegetarian dishes, small portions and increased prices (with increased cost of Living it's madness).....worst of all, a Cafe that has now removed 'Full English Breakfast' entirely. From now on we will go to places in the Country Park & Attleborough.....will miss Jimmy's & the planes.

Had a really good lunch with friends at Jimmy's, always a good visit when the weather is fine to also watch the planes and visit the museum there. Since moving to Norfolk I discovered Jimmy's Cafe over 4 years ago now.... the food is Great and the service is superb & friendly......The owner Trish cooks lovely hot meals and as a vegetarian, she is always willing to create something that's not on the standard menu or vary a dish . My friends had Sunday Dinner with all the trimmings, topped off with treacle pudding & hot fudge brownies ....all with custard, while I had a Vegetarian Breakfast and jam roly poly with custard. Good Hearty home made food with proper size portions......Yummy !

We have just been to Jimmys cafe for breakfast, 3 of us, and I have to say it was the worst breakfast we have had anywhere. The tables were sticky with hairs, which I could if coped with if the breakfast was nice, but it was terrible. The beans were cheap and cold, all our fried eggs were hard, the sausage was poor quality, the mushrooms were watery, the toast was cold, I didn’t even attempt the tomato. At £9.50 for a breakfast I was very dissatisfied. Nobody even come to ask us if everything was ok, they stayed in the kitchen.

Been wanting to come here for a while. It was really good - if not a bit rough and ready. Lady taking orders was also cooking until help arrived. . She works to hard . She was very helpful and welcoming. We had breakfast which was really good. Outdoor seating too. We chose to sit inside and watch small aircraft taking off and landing. A unique place with interesting history

We went as a family, 4 adults, for breakfast. The food was fine but the lady behind the counter was abrupt and somewhat unfriendly. Not a huge issue but she surpassed herself when she cleared the table whole my wife was still eating. She then hovvered waiting for the final plate/mug. Shame as for this reason we wouldn't return or recommend to our holiday cottage guests.

What a find! Terrific cooked breakfasts available until 1145, then really good hot lunches. All in a WW2 mini-museum remembering Jimmy Stewart's time there. Old Buckenham remains an active airfield and there's usually planes moving so the pub-style benches outside are popular places to eat.

Visited today after watching my sister complete a local 10k. The setting is lovely, the food delicious and cooked fresh to order. The service was excellent and we were able to reserve a table. The price is very good. For 3 lunches , a cold drink and a pot of tea for two was just over £20. If we had saved our appetite the Roast Beef lunch looked delicious and at £7.95 very reasonable. You can sit inside and out and watch the light aircraft taking off and landing at the airfield. Also a museum about the airfield and its uniqueness and the purpose it served along with the famous James Stewart being based there in the USAF. Will definitely be returning. 🙂🙂🙂

I flew into Old Buckenham Airfield from Southend Airport for a snack lunch at the excellent Jimmy`s, named after the American actor James Stewart who was Operations Officer of the 453rd USAAF Bomber Group. Fellow American actor Walther Mattau also served at Old Buck. The café is only open from Thursday to Sunday, serving the popular All Day Breakfast, baguettes, sandwiches, burgers and jackets potatoes. Also popular with non-flying guests.

Jimmy's is sited on the airfield at Old Buckenham and is open from Thursday to Sunday. Weather permitting, you can sit outside and watch the light aircraft taking off and landing. The cafe serves a good range of reasonably priced well cooked food and the cakes are very good. The airfield has a small museum for those interested in all things aviation. Definitely worth visiting.

After an 0500 meet for a (fantastic) balloon flight, we returned to the airfield after 0900 and pretty hungry. Delighted, we were, to see the cafe open and the full breakfast on the menu. Well frankly, it was a perfect end to the day and all before 1100!! Friendly, helpful staff, efficient, well priced and freshly cooked - perfect. Tea or coffee included in the price. We were set to go to a Little Chef until we saw the cafe open- can't tell you how glad we were that it was. What a great little cafe. Thoroughly recommend it.

We have visited several times for breakfast after being so well looked after by the staff when we used the airfield as a base for the weekend at an event organised by a friend last year. Full English is always lovely, a good range of homemade cakes on display and plentiful tea. Staff are friendly and accomodating and the place is clean and pleasant. The cafe is much improved under the current owners. Nice to while away an hour watching the planes take off and the museum on site is well worth a look.

We joined a party of friends who were meeting to watch one of the group take a plane ride as part of a special birthday celebration. Unfortunately due to adverse wind conditions, the flight was cancelled... however we all decided to stay for lunch and make a day of it anyway. This is a really nice small friendly airfield where you can while away an hour or two chatting to both local and visiting pilots whilst watching planes taking off & landing. What makes it is that strangers actually talk to each other here, which is so refreshing these days. Check opening times though as cafe is usually open Thurs to Sun. Well worth a visit, especially on a sunny day.

Being located in the aero club HQ at Old Buckenham airfield makes Jimmys cafe an interesting and somewhat unusual venue. It is named after the American actor Jimmy Stewart who was Group Operations Officer at the base in 1944.As it was a beautiful sunny morning we took the opportunity to sit outside with a coffee looking out onto the airfield. Unfortunately being a Thursday there were no air movements. The upside being it was extremely peaceful. Not fine dining but the meals were wholesome and good value. Used by the pilots and mechanics adds authenticity to the experience. Aviation exhibits and the history of the airfield when the USAAF 453rd Bomb Group were based here in the war flying B-24 Liberators also adds value. A few pieces of military hardware adorn the site.A little off the beaten track but well worth a small detour. The main cafe is only open Thurs - Sun.

We managed to get lost and saw a plane landing so investigated. We found this lovely little airfield called Old Buckenham with pictures of Jimmy Stewart on the drive. These were for a small but very friendly cafe named after him. Service was fast and friendly. Decent menu with several specials; I had a lovely pork loin and the other half a great burger. Haven't been many other places where you can have a great lunch whilst a load of planes are taking off, landing and parking right outside the window.

Visited for a quick burger and chips ahead of visiting a company on the site. Burger in a soggy wet bun, fatty and bland, stuffed with salad as a disguise, no chips, no sides, just a lonely burger on a plate. Cheapish at £3.50 but a Big Mac with chips and less fat is £3.95.Sloooooow service, scruffy staff who were obsessed with talking about charging their mobile phones. Seems to be a franchise using James Stewarts likeness but the Stewart foundation in the USA know nothing about it. Met the airfield owner who came out with the worst tirade of abuse at us after we'd finished the meal and paid. Very very weird and scary place. Paid by card but this involved paying the airfield manager who had to hold the card machine up in the air as it was a mobile based device with no signal.Wires crumbed down with her bare hands just sweeping it not the floor. Nice.Avoid unless you are starving and have cash / prepared total a bit of abuse with your meal.

We were the first customers to be seated when we arrived upon opening and my husband and I watched as other customers arrived and get seated. We watched as the server went to their tables first to take their orders whilst we sat there seemingly unnoticed. I decided not to say anything just to see what would happen and one of the lovely ladies who seated us came back from whatever she had been doing and asked if we had been served yet. I said no and she was straight on it. Fortunately all staff on shift were well organized and the barista got through the drinks orders like a champ so we didn't have to wait too long. I ordered an oat milk latte and tarragon mushrooms, my husband had the full fry up. Food was delicious and hot. I felt the pricing was a bit off between our two dishes. Mushrooms on toast with 2 poached eggs and a bit of spinach £12 yet my husband's big fry up also had toast, eggs, mushrooms but then had beans, tomato, bacon ,sausages, black pudding for £14. Not a complaint, more of an observation. When we went to pay, the cashier read out what we had ordered and said Almond milk latte. Good job I don't have a nut allergy! Overall a nice experience, delicious food, friendly staff, excellent chef. Will return.
