Was unsure as a vegan what the food would be like but was very impressed, especially the bang bang cauliflower, quite honestly the nicest cauliflower dish I've ever eaten. My meat eating family were also very happy with the food. Not the cheapest but worth the money for a special night out.

I've eaten a lot of Sunday Roasts and it's been a few years since I've had one that's comparable. From walking through the door, the service was excellent. The food was exceptional. The beef was perfect and a good selection of vegetables all cooked very well. Capped off with a juicy pale ale from Duration. Lunch doesn't get much better.

Went for Sunday lunch with family. The service was great, very friendly and accommodating. The food was exceptional. With no exaggeration, the best roast I've had in years. The beef was good quality and perfectly cooked. The array of vegetables was great to see and again, couldn't be cooked any better. Good beer too. Great lunch.

This place is absolutely fantastic! I hadn't been able to find a restaurant for ages, but I discovered this one online and reserved a table for 13. We were given the cozy upstairs area, which was perfect for our family gathering. The service was exceptional from beginning to end; a lovely lady took care of us throughout the evening, and she was remarkable. The food was amazing—huge portions, served hot, and bursting with flavor. We all had an amazing night and I recommend 1000% times over. It’s a 45 mins drive for us all but we definitely said we’d book again! Thank you ☺️

Came across this place while visiting the area and what a gem. The service we received from Charlie and Leo was outstanding. Charlie made us feel welcome from the minute we walked in and she and Leo took care to make sure we had everything we needed. The food by Fanny Adams was terrific, big portions and really interesting. We chose three small plates, the whitebait, squid and half duck to share. Even the salad that came with them was delicious and the harissa aïoli (with the whitebait) and Kaffir lime aïoli (with the squid) were great. The duck was divided into two portions and there were two stacks of pancakes and two piles of cucumber and onion salad at each end of the board, making sharing really easy. Charlie made sure we knew we could order child's portions if we were getting full and my friend just had room for that size of sticky toffee pudding, which she really enjoyed. My only regret is that I don't live near enough to visit this place regularly. It's a must if you're in the area.

We used this pub for dinner a couple of times whilst staying at Cley windmill. Bit of a query one evening when I'd phoned to book & the girl behind the bar couldn't find the booking. Her attitude was poor - made it quite clear she thought I was a liar! Not great. Hence 4 stars not 5. Fortunately however, they have the good sense to employ another member of staff who is exceptional. (Tall young man with glasses, moustache & baseball cap). Couldn't fault him or any of the food which was all lovely & reasonably priced for a holiday area.

Four of us (and 2 dogs) arrived at a busy time without a reservation, however, the team could not have been more accommodating to fit us in for Sunday lunch. We ordered 4 roast’s (2 beef, 2 pork) and within 15 mins, out came the steaming plates of food with some vegetable accompaniments, including cauliflower cheese. Hands down, this was one of the best roast dinners I’ve had in a long time - generous portions of meat, crispy potatoes, huge Yorkshire pud, delicious parsnip, carrots and mash, with a helping of delicious gravy. Bravo George and Dragon team - we’ll be back when we’re next out this way. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Took my entire family here for a pre wedding meal, the food could possibly be a 4* as most of the guests claimed to enjoy their meal, mine was a bit lacking in flavour to be honest, but it's perfectly acceptable pub grub per say. Nice service, accomodated a group of 12 of us, not cheap, but no pubs are anymore. 7/10 experience

Nice old pub run by young people. The service was really good and they were very attentive without being intrusive. The food, was absolutely delicious. We struggled to choose from the options. Short menu, but worth the trip. All the food is cooked in-house. The fish comes from a local fishmonger and the meats come from the local butcher (and it's all local food too!) To finish off, we had coffee like no other.

We’ve been before and the food was good but we went on Friday last week and the lady, not sure if it was the owner, was really rude. The sign outside says it is open every day from 12. We got there just before 3 and when we tried to get in the door was shut. The lady opened the door and when we asked if they were open, she just said “no”. No option to even get a drink and it was a hot day. It was a real shame but maybe the lady was just having a bad day.

Having driven past numerous times since it was refurbished today we finally got to visit. Food is provided by a catering company, the menu is uncomplicated. I had a delicious madras curry, not too hot, full of flavour accompanied by garlic naan and mushroom rice. The only comment I would make about the menu is that there was no salad option despite my husband having a lovely caesar salad as an accompliment to his chicken and chips. Hand cut chunky chips would have upped the ante on his meal. We were offered a choice of sorbet or ice cream as dessert choices. My usual experience is that one is asked how many scoops, not in this case. I was served one.

This was our first visit to the George & Dragon, we were warmly greeted by a lovely lady on arrival. We hadn't booked but this wasn't an issue, we sat beside a welcoming real fire which added to the ambiance of the place. My husband and I do not eat meat and it was lovely to see a menu that didn't consist of the typical non meat fare. The sea bass was one of the nicest and flavorsome meals I have had, the puree, aioli and bombay potatoes were cooked to perfection and all complimented each other. We chose the salted caramel creme brulee and vegan cheese cake for dessert. Both absolutely wonderful. We could not fault the food, service and friendliness of the place and we certainly be visiting again soon. Thank you very much.

Nice country pub, open fire and clean warm environment. Called in for a couple of beers with friend. Disappointed with choice of real ales so tried a local beer that is served. Expecting a pint of nice ale I received an American pint measure! This is England is it not! The drink served is not even an American ale which would make some sense. It is a local beer brewed not 15 miles away! Disappointed at £6:50 a serving! Which was little more than a half British pint! Yea a nice drink but disappointed none the least.

Its 15/person and included a two course meal, which was delicious. Roasted chicken, potatoes dauphinoise and then creme brulee. We were seated in the front largest room and found the noise to be deafening. Thankfully, the staff was beyond accommodating and moved us halfway through to the back bar. We were made very welcome, very nicely looked after and the food was good. We were party of six, going to the lovely, nearby, West Acre Theatre and we decided to try the George and Dragon for a pre-theatre supper. Because our show was starting at 7pm - not the usual 7:30pm - we were on a tight timetable. We pre-ordered earlier in the day and our food arrived on table on the dot of 6pm, giving us enough time to get to West Acre. Between us we had the prawn curry, boar sausages and the mussels: all very good. We shall do this again.

Best roast in the area beats the Dabbling Duck and The Brisley Bell, which are both nearby and very good. Beef was cooked to perfection (even for a picky Frenchman), vegetarian offering was flavoursome and paired perfectly with the awesome sides. 5* roast potatoes, carrots, parsnips, red cabbage, greens, and cauliflower cheese & leeks. The gravy is the nectar of the gods. We went back on a Saturday and again, were very impressed. This chef certainly knows what he's doing. Best haloumi burger I've had (homemade sauces and not soggy) and everything on the mixed grill was fabulous, again cooked to perfection. If you are nearby and you can find a table, it gets booked up, and rightfully so, don't hesitate to eat here. We have stopped visiting other local pubs to eat and are firm regulars here now. Thank you Fanny Adams! The service was attentive and fast, and all wait staff were helpful and lovely. No sandwich lunch menu but we enjoyed sharing Small Plates of delicious Nachos - homemade tortilla chips and all the nacho trimmings - Bang Bang Cauliflower - tempura bites, sticky aromatic sauce and more - and, well I read the menu wrong, Full rack "NagaQ" ribs (I only read the Corn on the Cob part!) which came with fries, coleslaw and mixed salad. All was very delicious and a Doggy bag (food containers) to take the leftovers home was offered straight away - we enjoyed the leftovers for supper. After staying in the accommodation behind the pub, it made sense to have dinner at the George and Dragon. This 17th century pub is absolutely stunning inside. With it being freezing cold outside, and the fire going inside you can imagine it was lovely and cosy! We were immediately served by a young lad at the bar, who was very polite and did everything efficiently and quickly. I ordered the Calamari to start with, and Fish and Chips as a main. Both were excellent, the calamari came with a lovely salad, which went perfectly! The Fish and Chips were also lovely, plenty of fish and chips, and it also came with mushy pees and tar tar sauce, which is unusual as most places just give you tar tar sauce if your lucky! Only thing I think can be worked on is the prices, they are slightly on the high side, however for the quality of the food this certainly makes up for it. I would 100% recommend to anyone passing by or staying in the accommodation, you won’t be disappointed!

I chose the George and Dragon as it offered a good selection of dishes and catered for Vegan diets also. The whole experience was great, from phoning to book a table to arriving. The pub has a welcoming feeling as soon as you enter. The...

As a bit of a connoisseur of pork ribs, I can report that the ribs served at the G&D are as good as any I’ve eaten. And the quality of that dish was matched by everything on the menu. Add to that the range of...

Just perfect. Warm welcome, genuinely dog friendly, beautifully kept, great service and comprehensive selection of beers. My Chicken Caesar was bursting with flavour and my friend said her Vegetarian Curry was stunningly tasty. Worth every penny, when we’re back in the area we’ll be repeating...

Thank you George & Dragon for a fantastic lunch today. Really warm welcome from the lady behind the bar who then went the extra mile to suggest zero alcohol beers for my husband who was driving. Fabulous food - the jerk chicken special brought back...

We went for an unexpected lunch. We were able to have a table by the fire and drinks brought to us. We had a few bits to share including the bang bang cauliflower which was exceptional. Although full we decided to have dessert. The salted...

We were the first customers to be seated when we arrived upon opening and my husband and I watched as other customers arrived and get seated. We watched as the server went to their tables first to take their orders whilst we sat there seemingly unnoticed. I decided not to say anything just to see what would happen and one of the lovely ladies who seated us came back from whatever she had been doing and asked if we had been served yet. I said no and she was straight on it. Fortunately all staff on shift were well organized and the barista got through the drinks orders like a champ so we didn't have to wait too long. I ordered an oat milk latte and tarragon mushrooms, my husband had the full fry up. Food was delicious and hot. I felt the pricing was a bit off between our two dishes. Mushrooms on toast with 2 poached eggs and a bit of spinach £12 yet my husband's big fry up also had toast, eggs, mushrooms but then had beans, tomato, bacon ,sausages, black pudding for £14. Not a complaint, more of an observation. When we went to pay, the cashier read out what we had ordered and said Almond milk latte. Good job I don't have a nut allergy! Overall a nice experience, delicious food, friendly staff, excellent chef. Will return.

This was a good cafe. Very clean, attentive staff and a surprsingly good menu. Plenty of options, from a very impressive all day breakfast to an excellent Brunch and lunch menu. We are on holiday and are going back to get lunch one day during the week.
