Cafe Verde in Breckland

We were the first customers to be seated when we arrived upon opening and my husband and I watched as other customers arrived and get seated. We watched as the server went to their tables first to take their orders whilst we sat there seemingly unnoticed. I decided not to say anything just to see what would happen and one of the lovely ladies who seated us came back from whatever she had been doing and asked if we had been served yet. I said no and she was straight on it. Fortunately all staff on shift were well organized and the barista got through the drinks orders like a champ so we didn't have to wait too long. I ordered an oat milk latte and tarragon mushrooms, my husband had the full fry up. Food was delicious and hot. I felt the pricing was a bit off between our two dishes. Mushrooms on toast with 2 poached eggs and a bit of spinach £12 yet my husband's big fry up also had toast, eggs, mushrooms but then had beans, tomato, bacon ,sausages, black pudding for £14. Not a complaint, more of an observation. When we went to pay, the cashier read out what we had ordered and said Almond milk latte. Good job I don't have a nut allergy! Overall a nice experience, delicious food, friendly staff, excellent chef. Will return.

Aahh I just love Café Verde! The staff is super lovely, the food is amazing (the pancakes are especially sublime), the coffee is great, the atmosphere chill and friendly. If you're ever nearby Mattishall, don't miss this gem!

Nice food breakfast and Sunday carvery

I love cafe verde, the staff are wonderful, really friendly. You always receive a warm welcome from them. I do think they are sometimes rushed off their feet and could do with more staff at peak times, but they never show they are stressed, always calm and polite. Well done!

Visited Cafe Verde yesterday for lunch - they were extremely busy but our waitress - Phoebe was so helpful and friendly and although rushed off her feet she had a smile on her face and was so happy. Well done Phoebe - Cafe Verde are very lucky to have you.

A lovely little cafe. The food was very good and left me wishing we lived a little closer.

Eight of us came for Sunday lunch. The venue is pleasant enough, though some of the interior is looking a bit tired and in need of a repaint. We ordered a combination of carvery and some meals off their Sunday menu. Service was slow, for drinks and food. Pudding was especially slow, considering we ended up having to have ice cream after the only hot option was dropped on the floor in the kitchen apparently! There was some other function going on in the adjacent room which seemed to be constantly taking food and staff from the main cafe. I would suggest they were understaffed for it, as it seemed to have such an impact on their main cafe. Not in a hurry to return.

Lovely place delicious cheese scones and excellent cakes

Well air conditioned on a blistering hot day. Nice airy space. Really delicious meal, but there seemed to be too few staff to manage the workload. In no rush, so not particularly affected, but a little frustrating that the staff who were present managed to avoid making eye contact when trying to get their attention. Still warrants four stars, but I wouldn't have been so generous if my timetable had been less open.

My friends and I are regular customers and always have a great lunch. They can be very busy sometimes but the staff are always pleasant even though they can be swept off of their feet. The food is consistently good. I have never met Julie and Julia before I started coming so have no bias but have to say they are a credit to Cafe verde who are lucky to have them. Thank you to all the staff who make it a pleasure to visit. 👍🏻

Great food, super atmosphere and excellent service.

Waited almost an hour from arrival to actually eating food. Unacceptable anywhere never mind a café. And it wasn't particularly busy. Such a shame as everyone enjoyed the food.

We have been regular customers for many years , but today was beyond shocking , we waited 30 minutes for firstly our drinks , when they arrived we were told the young girl was new , that’s absolutely fine , I wasn’t rude when I reminded her , Then no food arrived , my mother who was with me is 90 and diabetic and she was getting stressed as she needed to eat , yet again she went and asked and wasn’t met with politeness but seemed annoyed that we had to ask this was now 45 minutes , I have also had my own food establishment for 14 years , I know it can be busy but the place had nearly cleared out at this time , when the food arrived it didn’t improve my bacon and Brie was mostly fat , mums was Turkey with mostly stuffing , no one asked if everything ok and no apology!

Spent a pleasurable time there on Sunday for lunch. It is a regular haunt of mine. Normally my goto place for the occasional weekday breakfast treat. Lovely ladies behind the counter and pleasant food from the kitchen. Heartily recommended whether for just a cuppa and slice of cake or a hearty, tasty meal

A lovely cafe with lots of choice

We cycle regularly to this cafe for lunch. The food is always fresh and delicious and the staff so friendly. It never fails to impress

Lovely little cafe, nice location but food lets it down. Menu is not extensive and all ‘beige’ food. Healthier options would be better.

A real gem tucked away in this fairly small village. My wife and I called in for lunch on our day of arrival and were very impressed with the excellent and friendly service, the generous servings and the food quality. This initial experience prompted us to visit each morning of our four day break for breakfast rather than cook at our holiday cottage. This set us up for each day and we cannot recommend Cafe Verde too highly. Thank to the ladies who served us and to the chef.

We had the most amazing fish pie here. Such a talented chef to put together a mix of fish, cheeses leeks and make it so special. Never had such a lovely pie when eating out. A must to go on the regular menu My friend enjoyed her chicken burger which she said every mouthful revealed another element and flavour. Well done to kitchen The restaurant was full and I would expect that to continue if the food is at this level

Sausage Rolls and Hot Chocolate very nice 👍

This was our second visit this week - this time for breakfast and then staying to enjoy time with friends having coffee Absolutely the nicest poached egg , toast mushroom and beans combo that I have tasted for ages ! Very tasty and beautifully presented The other half enjoyed a Full Monty which he almost totally demolished - the hash browns defeated him but it kept him going all day Accompanied by the biggest pot of tea for two we have ever had ! Friends enjoyed tea and a cake ! We both came for lunch midweek and enjoyed omelettes and drinks - he loved the cider ! Service great x food fresh Great to see it busy !

I came here with my dad yesterday for his birthday lunch and it was absolutely amazing, 10/10 experience even if we didn’t have food (which we did) the staff were so lovely and friendly. The food itself was 10000/10 absolutely amazing so much taste and even the look of it was well put together.

A favourite place for the yoga ladies out for lunch. We love the menu as its interesting, delicious and healthy plus excellent coffee. Gluten free is also available as one of our group is celiac. Highly recommended.

Great food, great staff, great atmosphere.

Well organised for a large party such as ourselves. Foot great and hot and sweets were a generous serving too. Fully stocked bar and teas and coffees also available.

Lovely cafe, with good choice of lite bites or larger brunch/lunches. Staff were very friendly and the place has a nice atmosphere. Mix of people and ages when we visited. And the chips were crispy!

Why close at 3pm, profile shows it's one of your busiest hours. Great food, sell the cream teas more! Do a loaded fries dish and chips and dips.

What a strange place to find a cafe, slightly worried as it looks like youre coming into an industrial estate but ots all a facade. Lovely food, great service. They were busy but very efficient. There is an outside eating space too.

Waited fully 10 minutes to place an order for drinks and another 20. Minutes for them to arrive to the table. Ordered 2 Eggs and Chips for my wife and I. When it arrived it was served on a small bread and butter plate with the eggs over cooked plonked on top of a pile of chips. The eggs had hard yolks and crispy bottoms and were covered in a black dust like substance, could have been pepper or some herb. All in all a very poor showing. Needless to say our last visit.

Why haven't we been here before? Food was great, and staff really friendly and welcoming. It was almost closing time but we were not rushed to finish. Most definitely will call again and try the cakes.

Went to See Sir Van Morrison at Sandringham Estate on Friday night and stayed locally searched for a local cafe on Google for breakfast and it came up with this one excellent food and service can highly recommend the staff were very friendly and efficient plenty of vegetarian options as well. I had the Full Monthy without beans it was amazing and just what we needed. The surroundings were beautiful as well

First time cycling over to Cafe Verde, lovely coffee, friendly pleasant staff. Already planning to return this coming weekend and sample something from the menu.

I absolutely love this place! If you're Coeliac you can eat here with confidence. Lovely staff, really great food & decent portions..( some dishes high end restaurant worthy IMHO).. good value for money &lovely venue including delightful patio & gardens + very dog friendly! Do go! (Oh, & they DO have a wine list!)

I almost don't want to comment because everyone will visit! The food and service is so good. Been many times and always the highest quality.

We called in for a lovely treat and both had Sunday breakfasts. My wife had a vegetarian breakfast which was superb, I had the full monty breakfast and this was amazing. Cannot fault. We will be back.

Not impressed. Ordered coffee and a glass of hot milk as my wife had a medical appointment later in the day which needed no caferine in her body what so ever. We got the coffee and TWO glasses of milk, we let that go. When it came to pay the glasses of milk were £2.75 each I did mention that everywhere else we visited charge £1, this fell on deaf ears, so won't be returning . The 2 stars relate to the location. I had the full monty all day breakfast... It was the best breakfast I've ever had ..... The quality of the breakfast was amazing Everything was cooked to perfection I spoke with the Amy the chef and payed her complements The service was perfect and everybody was super friendly with great conversation Will definitely be back

We visited yesterday with our well behaved Labrador, we were all made to feel very welcome and both the ladies serving were extremely friendly and made a lovely fuss of our pooch. The food was first class, cafe is really bright, airy and comfortable. We will definitely visit again even though it’s quite a long drive for us.

We had a wonderful family meal today for my husbands 91st birthday. One of the best Sunday lunches I’ve ever had. We all thoroughly enjoyed it. Last time we went it was a carvery but today it was already dished up and served to our table. Excellent. The two girls serving were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for us they made it a very special occasion for us. I would thoroughly recommend it.

Not too bad breakfast not the worst I've ever had besides eggs not cooked properly mushrooms not drained so had lots of water on my plate also smoked bacon yuk should have the option for un smoked bacon if selling smoked bacon and also toast was wet as was put on side of main plate and soaked up some of the water from the mushrooms great staff very welcoming and friendly

We decided to visit Café Verde for a mid week lunch. The food was lovely and the staff welcoming and friendly. It's a really nice place to go and I will definitely visit again.

Off the beaten track, small but very good menu, I had a toasty and it was excellent, also shared some sweet potato fries, some of the best I've had. It is attached to a conference centre, probably where most of their trade comes from, lovely surroundings excellent seating area outside overlooking fields, also quite with mo traffic noise. Definitely one to recommend

We hadn't been here in ages. We had a lovely lunch. The food was great and plentyful and the coffee was lovely. The staff were lovely and welcoming too. We will definately be back sooner the next time.
