Great service, and lovely food.

When you order two cups of tea - I wasn't expecting a mug with hot water, milk and a tea bag all in one! Milk usually comes in a jug and a teabag in a tea pot! As friend doesn't have milk in her tea - I told the gentleman - and all he answered was "I'm not a mind reader"...before nudging her shoulder and walking away! Sadly don't recommend, not even for a mug of milky tea... customer service was dreadful. Toilets could have been cleaner too...

Nice place to go for a coffee and some lunch, a little on the expensive side, £8.50 for a basic bacon sandwich without any sides is a tad excessive. But the food was nice and fresh. Friendly service.

Went to Black Horse Cafe yesterday, was told to take seat and someone will come over and take our order, it wasn't busy, we waited 10 minutes and no one came over to serve, we finally got up and left. Not a place we would visit again, even left behind the plants we intended to buy from Olivers Garden Centre.

Incredible food and the sticky toffee pudding is the best I’ve had. It’s such a fantastic pub that is very well furnished inside, I love a pub that feels cosy to have a meal and a drink with friends n family and this is it. Helpful polite staff tasty food cosy pub 5 star.

Lovely lunch with friends yesterday. We all shared a selection of starters (small plates) which were so delicious and beautiful presented. Mains were cooked fresh, peri peri chicken was huge and so nice. The only fault would be that the mussels main course should have come with bread - rather than having to ask for it (and pay 4.50 for bread and oil) but we had a lovely afternoon and the service was outstanding, the lady was super friendly, attentive and clearly loves her job - a real credit to you. We will see you again soon when we are back in the area.

Popped in for a pint whilst in Rayne. Just the one cask ale, but a really well kept 1555. Spotted the menu and decided on food. Food was delicious, clearly homemade and very reasonably priced. Televisions showing sport were unobtrusive and the staff were polite and friendly. A really nice pub.

Sat down and ordered. Food good but before finished drinks told that they were shutting straight away. No chance to order cake or another drink. Never told us that when ordered otherwise would have gone somewhere else. No wonder so quiet if that’s how customers treated

We came here as a party of 30+ over £500+ spent on the bar. Very disappointed to feel Like we were a pain and a nuisance to the team, constant eye rolls and tutting Waiting long time for drinks and no smile with service. Good(buffet) was amazing. Server I am referring mainly to I am told is called Rihanna. Our younger ones were in the bar area at 10.15 playing pool to be told this bar is now closing and u can go back next door and order one more drink!! I have spoken to the man who said was in charge and he acknowledged this was out of order. Still can’t help feeling aggrieved at how unwelcome we were made to feel. Even as I write this we are having eye rolls and sighing. Very disappointed for my mother in law who’s 70th it was and she was let down! Not happy at all.

Absolutely disgusting food. I would not recommend attempting to eat here. The chef needs to go back to the drawing board or think about throwing the towel in. Worst food my family and I have had, can’t remember ever eating such terrible food. There is more salt in the food than the Dead Sea, and in kids meals…. Wowza

A local Rayne pub. A sunny position.good range of drinks and non alcohol beer. The Sunday roast was mouth watering and everything on the plate was tender. I had turkey, he had pork and turkey ,even the crackling was to die for.. gravy perfect. A large dinner, we both left some veg as such a big dinner Yorkshires perfect. As were roasties. Broccoli,cauli,parsnips, carrots, red cabbage. No room for dessert. Will be back for definite. A lovely atmosphere. Very nice staff,polite and courteous. Also a dog friendly place. There is a garden too with seating .very friendly. .Ample parking.

I think Costa Witham makes a truly fantastic dry cappuccino! I looked over at the counter and mentioned to my husband which lady had made my lovely coffee and just as I was just spooning out the last drops the member of staff came over and said was your coffee ok? How lovely that someone would ask, I explained I was scooping out the last drops as it was sooo delicious :) I think the staff should be given a treat for good service!
