Valero Lounge in Braintree

Popped in for some breakfast as we hadnt been here before. A good locations and the decor was also very good.. You order at your table through the app or goto bar with your order. Overal the service was good but the food was pretty average.. Hard Poached eggs, overdone pre cooked sausages and dry beans.. The coffee and bloody Mary was excellent though

Firstly I will say I have eaten here several times and always been impressed with the food and the service. Decided to take them family down for a breakfast on a rare Sunday when everybody was not busy. Started queuing , there was a couple in front of us that were waiting to be seated that gave up despite half the main restaurant being empty. There only appeared to be two people serving and they were rushed off their feet. Eventually seated outside as no tables big enough inside for our party size but the table were filthy so ended up cleaning ourselves. Eventually ordered, half the drinks came after 10 minutes, the food took nearly 40 minutes to arrive and no hot drinks served. Hot drinks turned up as we were finishing food. The sausage on the lounge breakfasts are normally nice tasty big pork sausages, today was 1 tiny thin sausage with no taste, the bacon was burnt to a crisp, cold beans just not good. Staff seemed harassed as they were over run. For the money charged today was certainly a let down, every other time I have been has been weekdays and the food is usually great and service good so maybe an off day today.

30 mins for a small breakfast to arrive, no offer of sauces when delivered (which I did actually want). I advised that my pot of tea still hadn't come out and the girl said they were doing it, but no apology offered. One of my breakfast items was broken up on the plate. Nobody came around to ask if everything was okay, which would have allowed me to feedback directly. Just after I finished eating, my pot of tea was brought out, with a grunt for what passed for an apology, by now some 45 minutes after placing my order. Service has gone downhill over the last few weeks and, whilst they were quite busy, you still expect service to be better than they're giving. Second time this has happened in a month, though first time I've submitted a review. If they don't change things around soon, customers will start leaving. Not impressed.

It took 30 minutes for drinks to come out, 50 minutes for food, When food did come out all was stone cold. They did offer to re-cook the meals which is why I have given 2 stars rather than 1. They also didn't bring out the snack pot for our 2 year old which would of been good with the long wait, even though we asked for it after 20 minutes of waiting, we didn't get it at all. This is a shame as being local in the town it was one of our favourite places to have brunch, but it seems to have gone downhill based on the last few times we've been. We even left a tip as you are made to leave this when you order the food, which is completely wrong in my opinion. We won't be coming back.

Been a few times over the past couple of weeks for lunch and I can’t fault a thing. It’s always been quick service with lovely staff, really good value food and such a selection on the menu. Cannot recommend the pink lemonade enough!

We ate outside. Table not cleaned & a woman at another table was smoking despite it being a non smoking area. Staff did nothing to stop her. Young man who served us was over familiar with his name-calling - I found it unpleasant. Main course was lovely then we ordered dessert & coffee. Coffee was served way before the dessert.

Good over all. My food was fine and value for money. The only negative is the kids meal looked like it could have had a little more love put into it. Maybe try getting a bun that is the same size as the children’s burger. Or a slightly bigger burger. Also please don’t use the peelings of the carrot for the snack pot. There was still dirt in the skin. Again great idea but just a bit more thought. Service was fantastic and definitely child friendly.

Came for Father’s Day as a group of 7 couldn’t book ahead for lunch which is a ridiculous system for everyone, arrived were not greeted pleasantly, asked for table told we could go and sit at a table that hadn’t been cleaned If we wanted and wait , then left, asked if we could move the tables that were available a little closer told they aren’t allowed to move tables at which point two other smaller groups came in and got seated, This all could have been avoided if we could have booked , the staff would have known how many customers they were catering for and everything would have run smoother, I won’t be returning as they were rude and un accommodating

I had a lovely meal here with my family yesterday. We’ve visited maybe around 30 times since it’s been open and it’s never disappointed us. Lovely food, staff and atmosphere. Sadly yesterday it was ruined, but not by the restaurant but a customer. All he did was moan after ordering 5 different dishes, eating them all and then complaining that they weren’t cooked properly. He even had the nerve to tell the waiter to tell the chef to pull his socks up. In the end we moved inside.

Quirky relaxed surrounding . Friendly welcome to everyone from the staff. Good vibe and atmosphere. Love going here with family and friends. Excellent variety of unusual dishes on the menu. Cooked and presented very well and extremly tasty. The kitchen will always oblige with any modifications if they can. Great cocktails too. Also children and dog friendly.

So Myself, My Daughter & Husband Visited Sunday 23rd April For A Bit Of Lunch Upon Arrival We Were Greeted By A Lovely Young Man Who Took Us To Our Table. I Myself Chosen The Smokey Jo Burger And They Both Choose The Large Breakfast 😋 I Had A CHEEKY Cherry Bakewell Cocktail Which I Must Say Is A Must For Anyone With A Sweet Tooth 😋, We also Had A Pot Of Tea( Check Out The Teapot 🫖 😉) . Waiting Time For Food Was Less Than 10 Minutes Which Was Amazing Considering How Busy It Was Too, One Of The Chefs Nikki I Believe Even Came To Our Table To Ensure All Our Food Was OK 👍 Which Was A Nice Touch As Well. Atmosphere Was Lovely And Didn't Feel Rushed At All. If You're Yet To Visit Then Please Do So Yes It's Dog Friendly As A Few Pooches Were There But Unless You Are Not A Dog Lover Don't Let This Put You Off 😉 We Definitely Will Be Returning In The Not To Distant Future. Thanks Again To All Staff Front Of House And Back For Making Our Lunch An Enjoyable One 😉

Came in for lunch and a catch up with a friend bank holiday Monday , It’s such a calming environment , went a little busy by the time we ordered our food but as being a regular customer it’s no real bother . The staff are not robots and can only do the best they can . Having said this as always the staff were great , waited about 10mins for a coffee and about 30 mins for food … which considering the day and time I thought this was very acceptable . Courtney and lara both served us , both lovely as usual and even had a laugh and a joke with the 2 female chefs . Spot on cooking ladies!

May have caught them in a bad day owever, the toast I ordered was brown, I got white, the milk O ordered was skimmed, I got whole, and after a long wait, the bacon was cooked beyond recognition, if.you watch Only Fools and Horses it would rival Grandads cooking For the money paid the breakfast was far value for money and far from satisfactory, needled to say my first visit will be my last.

A lovely restaurant with good food and great staff who always make a fuss of my dogs and give them treats and a bowl of water with every visit. We visit at least 1-2 times a month for lunch. Gorgeous place. Nicely decorated And clean. You order direct from your phone at the table with QR code which is so easy! You can go to the bar to order too if you prefer. Food is always hot, fresh and value for money. A large array of drinks to choose from too. Would highly recommend to anyone especially if you have dogs as they always get well looked after. We go to the Valero mainly for coffee during the morning or drinks in the evening, but occasionally for food. The staff are very organised and attentive, very COVID 19 secure and adhering to all the local rules, which we find reassuring. The inside area is well spaced out and the App for ordering at the table works well. The whole experience is slick and it is our preferred venue in Witham at the moment.

We chose to get dressed up and go out for a meal last Saturday for our family Halloween celebrations and the staff made our meal extra special by making a fuss of the children and their outfits and treating them. The food was excellent as usual and our lounger, Karoline, spent time chatting to the kids about their drawings and other things. The visit really helped make our celebrations special.

I really love this place! They are one of the few places in the area that welcomingly allow dogs The staff are always accommodating, mega friendly and the food and service is fabulous. Plus the prices are great when going out with the family. With a brilliant menu that caters for all dietary needs I’m always happy to come here rain or shine- plus the pancakes with bacon are delicious!

We are on a business trip in England and found this restaurant on the day we arrived. The service is par excellence (our waitress Elise cared for us since day 1). Been here many times. You can come here to eat and drink safe in the knowledge that none of the town's numerous idiots will be present. Staff were warm, friendly and helpful. The food is rich and flavoursome and the environment is smart. It's a tiny overpriced but worth the extra money to avoid idiots.

Have been here before and always had a good experience , was very impressed by the covid strategy by the staff and everything was sparkling clean., had the large breakfast and coffee good portions of well cooked food and I didn't have to wait long , Caroline & Traci were on hand serving everything with good humour and politeness will be coming back again soon

Just had lunch in Valero Lounge. Food (Tapas) was excellent as usual. Second visit since reopening after lockdown. Felt safe as good sanitisation procedures in place and all staff wearing masks. Well done to all of you.

I had the Bang Bang Chicken which although tasty lacked quantity. Good job it was the half price deal. My companion on the other hand had the Big Lounge Breakfast which looked reasonable value for money. Regarding covid restrictions tables were well spaced. Hand sanitizer was available as you entered but that seemed to be the only available. Couldn't even find it in the "gents"

I had to work outside of my home for the first time in 5 months and decided the best place to perch myself was at the reopened Valero Lounge for a butty and a tea. Best decision I made! On arrival the new COVID secure procedures where detailed on a board and also very clearly explained by a member of staff. Every part of the business has clearly been carefully considered on how it can maintain the safety of staff and customers with no impact on the quality or experience of visiting. If this is the new normal for the time being I'm pleased it's happening so well in the heart of Witham! Well done Valero Lounge!

We popped into the very welcoming Valero Lounge for a quick lunch. On the next table were 3 deeply unpleasant guys who loudly objected to the request to fill in the track and trace form for “all this COVID crap!”. They were awful. The manager, Tracy, dealt with them politely, professionally and firmly. We moved table anyway. Shame.
