The Swan in Braintree

Top spot just outside of Braintree for drinks. We like to come here for the sports every now and then as we’ve moved out of town but it’s our go to when we’re here. If you’re after a pub with a decent selection of drinks. Good food. Nice locals and a great young landlord who’ll be sure to look after you. This is your place! Great outside in the summer. Cozy in the winter. An authentic pub.

Amazing mothers day lunch! Table set beautifully with fresh roses and all of our food was delicious. Excellent value for money and everyone enjoyed.

We had our second 'school' reunion her on Saturday. The setting was ideal and the buffet fantastic. Extremely good value for Monday and he even laid on teas and coffees to make yourself, a wonderful touch and greatly appreciated by all. We have since rebooked for next year. Thank you for everything Cameron.

The beer garden here is amazing. The benches, outside toilets and gazebo have all been freshly painted and done up for Summer 23. Great place to drink with family and friends in the sunshine!

Booked a table for mother's day, took the whole family there was 11 of us! The restaurant was lovely and clean and the tables had been set up with table clothes and flowers which was an added bonus as it all looked lovely! The food was served in a timely manner and it was delicious! The deserts were to die for especially the baileys mousse. The staff were extremely helpful and attentive and very polite! Hi. Myself, sister, bro and sisters hubby went to the Swan on Sunday (20 Nov22) and had the best meal that I have ever had in a pub resteraunt. The staff wre great as well. Going back again today with daughter and her hubby. SteveB

Stopped off for Sunday roast as this looked really nice from the outside. However inside was a bit dingy. Ordered roast beef and roast lamb. When they arrived you could not tell the difference by looking. Meat so over cooked, cold mash and mediocre vegetables.

The Swan was created to make your life easier. It has the ability to cook all types of food that you cook in a microwave with perfection. The Swan is easy, intuitive, and comes with a recipe book for all types of recipes.

Filthy sticky tables and menus. Couldn’t get any cutlery for our side salads as waiting staff forgot then were nowhere to be seen once we started eating. Dog seen lying in the kitchen. Avoid at all costs.

Great food friendly staff they go the extra mile to help in anyway they can,lovely atmosphere would recommend to anyone especially the Sunday roast 👍🏻Excellent value for your money.

Poor experience. Staff friendly, pub needs a total refurb. Plates and glasses stuck to the table!! Chips good, scampi overcooked and tasteless. Not one to return to!

What a gem, great atmosphere, friendly staff, good basic pub grub. Excellent value. So lucky to be in walking distance.

We were made to feel very welcome and our order of roast lamb plus steak pie with mash was delivered in very good time. I asked for Colman's mustard and mint sauce that was provided with a smile. The roast lamb was very generous in portion and the vegetables perfectly cooked. The price was amazingly cheap and represents one of the best values we have received for ages.

Lovely staff although busy they still made sure we had everything at our table Food was delicious and hot staff were great with the younger children brilliant place when the weather is good large play area and alfresco dining

Very nice venue with very helpful staff. We had a prawn coctail and duck and orange pate to start both were delicious. The following roasts were lovely with generous meat portions, well cooked vegetables and crispy roast potatoes. Unfortunately we had no room for dessert. The staff were all really helpful and accommodating.

Big garden with a good array of seating. A old fashioned feel with big hanging baskets and pub tables. Lots of space for the kids to play in.

Lovely welcoming pub with a large garden with plenty of shade if required, excellent service with everyone being really accomodating. Food was very good and we ordered as a group of 15, everything came out together, hot, fresh and very reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend.
