Stopped by for a quick lunch. The staff here are great My partner and I both noticed that the portion sizes of the sides were disappointingly small. The burger I ordered came with a teaspoon of coleslaw and a scent number of chips. Noticeable decline over the years.

I'd been wanting to try the place for a while since I always saw it full of people, so it must be good right? No. Mediocre service, extremely long waiting times (for 2 avocado toasts & 1 jacket potato) and they got my order wrong twice, I couldn't eat my food in the end because of it (i just asked for a jacket potato with no cheese, there was cheese BOTH times). Despite the order mistake we pointed out they shrugged it off. We where sitting outside near the window into the kitchen and I say a health inspector should be called, appalling stuff going on in there.

I have had breakfast in many cafes and diners around the world travelling for business and I can honestly say that I believe you can do a bad breakfast however you can do a great breakfast and that is what I had at this Cafe, the products you can taste are quality and I thought that they were locally sourced cause the eggs bacon and sausage were just fantastic and I spoke to the member of staff after and they confirmed it’s all locally sourced it was a great breakfast and i would highly recommend it

We visited on a Tuesday lunchtime and I was really impressed with the quality of the food. Three of us had the calves liver and really enjoyed it, we also had desert...one of the lightest treacle sponges I have ever tasted, absolutely delicious. It was very reasonably priced. We will definitely be returning especially as one of our party had the pie of the day and it looked amazing. I also liked that on some dishes you could have smaller portions.

The hidden jewel of traditional public houses. Great atmosphere amazing selection of fine ales and ample parking. 😎and to the best of my knowledge no noisy gaming machines. 10/10

We regularly visit here for breakfast and it is always packed- very popular with the locals. The food is delicious and chefs are happy to adapt to your tastes e.g. crispy bacon. Lots of choice on the menu.

I first visited Ds diner as a suggestion from a friend for a local diner with breakfast food. First time round, I felt a warm atmosphere, indescribable, my spark began over the really amazing tiger bread egg and bacon baguette, which was outstanding for the price, 2 big filled baguettes. Second time round, the spark wasn’t as exciting, with service being slower and less welcoming. Foods a solid highlight however, with amazing portions for amazing prices.

What was once a pub with a cricket ground behind it has been completely modernised and is now an Indian restaurant, a very good Indian Restaurant ! Although we arrived late (we thought the booking was 30 mins later) we were assured it wouldn’t be a problem by friendly staff, although it was hard to see where we’d be seated as the place was rammed full ! Having never eaten there previously (just going on a recommendation) we whatched the dishes being sent to tables closely and everything looked amazing. Sure enough when we did order, each of us would happily eat any of the dishes, they were flavoursome without overwhelming heat, just very tasty. We will certainly be visiting on a regular basis

So, I read a lovely review and decided to try it out for myself. I'd gone in to Braintree to get some shoes fixed so had my dog with me. Looks lovely. Opening line - "we aren't meant to have dogs here". Sub text get out with your dog. They do know that 'Love me, live my dog' runs true. So you don't my custom. I'll be accommodating. I'll sit outside. Coffee and cake ordered and paid for. Then nothing. I'm not in a rush. But nothing. We'll apart from the little boy on the next table playing with the dog. He's very friendly. Eventually, coffee and cake. Biscoff and banana cake was nice and tasty. Coffee was a standard latte - nice and hot - good job give we had to sit outside. View isn't quite the best and the ambience is zero. If you have a dog and want a friendly welcoming place for a coffee then don't come here. If you don't want people with dogs just put up a sign - we hate dog owners - that will solve it straight away.

I just adore this bakery. The staff are so very friendly, you feel welcome as soon as you walk in the door. The cakes/scones are fabulous, tea is in a little pot with a cozie, such a great touch. The prices are so very reasonable, you cannot beat this bakery/tearoom. I love it.
