This cafe is a rare find!! Animals are rescued and very very well cared for! There are an amazing amount of options for vegans with the food being absolutely delightful. Really comfortable and bright seating area inside and a lovely outside area with more seating and toys for children. Friendly and helpful staff. I can not recommend this place enough. Even though this was quite a way from us, we will be returning because it really is a little gem!

Very disappointed. Advertised on their website and trip advisor as open from 9am. Arrived at 9.30 after driving 4 miles and it was closed. Lights off. Asked in farm shop 10 mins later, who also went over and checked. Still no one there

We waited a while to be served and once ordered we waited. Some Items ordered were not delivered. waitress was not attentive. We tried and waited for a while to order more items in the end we did have to shout. But we could see the chef in the kitchen we did say to the only other people in the restaurant apologies for being loud they did laugh and said ok. This was a special occasion as a friends birthday surprise. When the person booked this, and went to pay she came out very upset and crying, due to the rudeness of the waitress. We did have another birthday event booked but now cancelled as do not want to feel so unwelcome and ignored again. But what food we did receive was of a high standard just the service spoiled the whole event

Good points- Booking was a breeze, even when calling to confirm checked if i wanted to sit outside, with the live music. Very accommodating when the weather had turned so moved our table inside. Good portion sizes, staff were friendly, and helpful. WE DID LOVE THE NO MEAT THOUGH BEING VEGAN. Was refreshing to see an all veg/vegan menu. Which is why we chose to visit. Lovely location. Would possibly visit again but would only be for tea and cake. However….. no vegan coleslaw, no sausage rolls, bearly any cakes left. This was at midday! Asked for no tomatoes in my daughter panini which the server wrote down. But still came with tomatoes in. Also ordered a sausage sandwich for my son but somehow it got missed off the order. (Maybe suggest to staff to read back order before heading into kitchen) Curry was disappointing, looked like tinned potatoes, sweetcorn and peas had some red sauce squirted over all of it. It was edible but I didnt finish it. Unfortunately the major thing for me was the cost. Now i know there was 7 of us but I do think £9 for a sausage sandwich is a bit steep when my curry, with rice and naan bread was £13. We all had something, 3 of us had mains Other 4 had lunch bits(sandwiches) One drink each, and 3 desserts £108 Again i get its a business, and their were 7 of us, but the prices were a little steep in comparison to other things on the menu. Lovely location. Would possibly visit again but would only be for tea and cake.

Wow...what a hidden gem. We wanted a local place for afternoon tea and weren't disappointed, we needed to add an extra person at the last minute but this wasn't a problem and was sorted out easily. On arrival we were warmly welcomed and attended to very quickly. The staff were very friendly and attentive, the food came out and just wow. It looked so fresh and appetising and when it hit the taste buds it was amazing. Unfortunately we couldn't manage it all but they provide boxes to take home any leftovers. Will definitely be back and would highly recommend to anyone who is looking for somewhere to go with both good service and amazing food

Charming place so so disappointed to be served a white bread stale sandwich and tinned soup. Tea was weak, please buy decent tea bags to put in your china tea pots. I'd love to come back when you sort your food out.

We went this morning ( 3rd feb) Good honest owner with good quality food , will be making this cafe our regular and you can bring you dog and see the ducks ,goats and a few other animals outside too, 5 stars

I've visited Fox in the stables several times with my husband and have always loved it, so yesterday I visited with some friends for afternoon tea. We were amazed at the value for money! I've always enjoyed coming here to eat as the owner is vegan so we are always so well catered for. The afternoon was exceptional though. From the biggest fruit scones I've ever seen, to delicious, freshly made sandwiches. There were so many cakes that we all needed doggy bags to take some home. Absolutely brilliant tea room for Vegans, veggies or anyone that likes good food. All set in beautiful surroundings with the added bonus of rescue animals that you can meet too. 100% recommend.

WHAT A LITTLE GEM Vibrant cafe situated in the countryside, with picturesque views all around. It even has a mini farm, with Chickens Goats and Alpacas, which our children absolutely love. I've visited the wonderful Fox in the Stables a few times now. It never fails to impress. AMAZING food, FANTASTIC Staff who friendly and very tentative. The atmosphere is warm and cosy, with decor to match. If you visit once, you will visit again and again...guaranteed. Highly recommend ☕️🍰🥪🍟🐔🦙🐐🦊

Visited this vegan tea room for the first time, everything about it was very nice, the choice of food was phenomenal, and I had a panini which was lovely. The staff and owner were extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble. This place is a gem and I will definately be returning .

A large menu to cater for all needs, from simply a hot drink or an all-day breakfast, during your visit to this large complex of antique shops and farm shop. The approach road is narrow with pull-ins so be aware.

My best friend booked her 40th here. All the staff were so lovely and went above and beyond to make the event run as smoothly as possible. The food was beautiful and the cake stands were such a lovely touch. I’ve never had a vegan afternoon tea and it was lovely! Props to the baker! Thanks again so much and sorry about the walls! Happy to help repaint if need be! I will most definitely be back!

Me and my young daughter came in for some brunch and we really enjoyed it. Delicious thick bread and fresh eggs. Nicely decorated with a calm and relaxed vibe. My daughter really enjoyed the small petting zoo outside! We’re defiantly visiting again.

Went here with the family and was really impressed with everything from start to finish. We received a really warm friendly welcome from the owner Rob who showed us to a comfy sofa! I love my meat but didn’t miss it at all with the offers on the menu. Also must mention the home made cakes, wow. Incredible selection and so tasty. I highly recommend if you’re looking for affordable afternoon out to lunch.

This place is our first thought when considering afternoon tea or an easy drop in for a bite to eat. It is always warm, clean and welcoming. The food, teas and coffin are really good. Cakes are home made, and I love their scones and tea cakes. The decor is worth a visit in itself and everyone is friendly and cheerful. Would advise anyone in the Braintree area to give it ago.

Visited the tearoom for lunch. Was really disappointed with the menu. No meat of any description, all vegetarian,just cheese and egg based, quite a poor selection. Service was a little slow, but the food was nice. Also not impressed with the cleanliness of the place. It was obvious from the state of the floor it had not been hoovered or mopped recently and our table was dirty. There were only a couple of customers so it wasn't as if they were to busy to keep the place clean. Such a shame.

Great food, lots of choice. Very reasonably priced & all cooked from scratch. Friendly staff & peaceful setting. Vegetarian breakfast wrap with added halloumi was so tasty.

On recommendation of a friend I took my daughter to visit the antiques shop at St Peter’s. It was thirsty work walking around all the different rooms so we popped to the cafe for an hot choccie and couldn’t resist the gorgeous selection of cakes. In the cafe we asked one of the very polite staff members where the animals we’d heard of were. The lovely young lady pointed us in the right direction and offered my daughter a bowl of vegetable chopping from the kitchen to feed them with. Feeding the animals was a lovely experience for my daughter for which we were very grateful. The only thing I could say could have improved our experience was to not to have had lunch before we left home… next time!

I visited the Cafe for afternoon tea and was not disappointed. The food was all to a very high standard and there was plenty for the 4 of us… and they even brought treats over for the dog! The staff in the cafe are always extremely friendly and welcoming… We look forward to returning.

My husband and I visited for lunch last Sunday, we didn’t know that it was all vegetarian food (we are meat eaters). We had a really good lunch, my husband had vegetarian chilli and jacket potato and I had a sandwich with lovely gluten free bread (not always available in other places). It’s a bit far from where we live but if we were in the area we would certainly go again. Service was prompt and polite. Reasonable cost. Thank you

We have been here a couple of times now and never disappoints. Cakes are lovely and staff are friendly. Caters really well for children by having a little bookcake & games as well as the animals outside!

The cakes looked good, but the cafe was freezing (no heating on) & everyone had their coats on. The walls in the toilets were wet (damp). Service was friendly but slow. The main reason we wouldn't return is that we paid £7 for 'chunky vegetable...

Amazing vegan oasis in remote Petersfield Village ... This place has been revamped and taken over by an amazing owner and staff. The service is so friendly and the food is beautifully presented. An absolute treat to come here as a couple , family or...

Came for lunch on Wednesday. Sat on a table on the left hand side at the back. The door to the toilet area was wedged open so not entirely condusive to eating. Food was lovely though.

Excellent food and service. Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Outside seating area with play area for children.

So refreshing to visit this wonderful new tearoom - great to have a nice choice of food in this lovely countryside environment. Have eaten here a lot and will definitely continue to - keep up the good work.

Have called here quite a few times. But have noticed the food isn’t as good as previous visits. Also for what you get the prices seem quite OTT. Even more expensive than certain garden centres and that’s saying something. Need to offer better quality food...

Lovely tea rooms, fantastic food. Caters for vegans, vegetarians and gluten free customers. A whole menu for each. Lovely setting, welcoming staff. We tried a slice of the gluten free Victoria sponge cake and vegan bakewell, they were delicious as were the paninis! Nice seating...

I visited this tea Room recently with my family and was thrilled to find such a relaxing place to enjoy afternoon tea! Everything is decorated beautifully and your tea is served in beautiful bone China tea cups. Staff were amazing, so helpful and friendly. If...
