What a terrible place we went for lunch the food and service was unbelievable bad . And that wasn't the worst thing the owner and he's wife were attacking a poor Deliveroo driver in front of customers and the racist comments from there mouth to this poor guy I will never enter that place again shame on you Braintree surely we most stop this kind of behaviour 😡😡😡😡😡😡

We love going here! They use fresh ingredients, cook it well and the staff is very friendly. I love their Caesar salad & smoothies, and my wife loves the English Breakfast & coffee. Also the renewed interior is fresh & colourful, such an improvement. Definitely our favourite place in Braintree!

A comprehensive menu at sensible prices. I go for the Scotch pancakes with syrup and fresh strawberries and blueberries. Very nice!

Absolutely lovely in general. The food is excellent and prepared with fresh ingredients, the place is tidy & clean, the staff is very friendly & helpful, the menu has many options and possible variations, even with vegetarian or vegan options. My partner and I come here regularly and we took my family last time. We had a wonderful lunch and all enjoyed it very much.

I ordered a veggie breakfast wrap which included scrambled egg. The egg in the one I got was fried, not scrambled. Ok, but not as nice as I was expecting. The entire thing was very salty too. Then my friend and I had a dessert. Mine was lemon cake and cream; again just ok. Perhaps I should have checked first, but the cream was that horrid squirty stuff, not real cream. When I paid for the two desserts (one was £4.90 and the other £4.20) I was charged £10.60! I went back and was refunded the difference no problem, but as I was never given an itemised till receipt in the first place, it seemed a bit odd. Oh yes, and we were given a knife and fork to eat the desserts which was funny, but careless.

Haven't visited in around a year. It's a shame to say the quality of the food has gone downhill while the prices have skyrocketed, I understand we're in a cost of living crisis but come on £30+ for 2 meals & drinks? It's cheaper to order a takeaway from almost anywhere else! The quality of the meat, in particular the sausages was much poorer than it used to be, very obvious they're using cheaper ingredients now despite price rises. Waitresses however were both very pleasant, helpful & welcoming. Interior is also nicely decorated too, although if anything a little bit cramped. Seems they've ditched the table service too as you now have to go to the counter to order & pay before you eat. Save your money & go elsewhere.

Went in for breakfast and now I feel sick. Cheap ingredients used, sausages were more filler than meat, only got 3 mushrooms, snotty eggs. Weak tea with no taste. Over £30 for two breakfasts with two teas. No wonder they now make you pay first when you order. Avoid this place at all costs. I certainly won’t be going back to get scammed again.

Was treated like rubbish and told that I should have known the entire menu by the 3rd day I had started working there. I got fired on the 4th day for asking to go home at 2pm which I had been going home at for every day I had previously worked. Carmen got very angry and said I need to grow up and I didn’t understand how businesses work. Bare in mind the reason I asked to go home at 2pm is because that was the only time I would be able to get picked up. I told her I can ask my mum if I can get picked up later and she proceed to tell me ‘no this is non-negotiable, take your money and hopefully you can find a better job. You’re a lovely girl but you need to grow up’. I didn’t know what I had done and tried to help my case but she wasn’t listening and told me to leave. Rude rude rude owners but lovely waitresses/waiter. I do not recommend if you are looking for a job.

Had a great lunch here. The service was excellent and the team friendly. I had the club sandwich which comes with chips. It was huge and very filling ! My wife had a panini which was very tasty. We originally planned to go to a different venue but they didn’t serve lunch after 2 pm but now very glad we came here. We will definitely be back !

Me and my son had breakfast here this morning and we could not fault it. Well cooked and well presented very impressed. Oh and the toilets were spotless as well.

I went to yumy today and wanted the chicken royal as most burgers have cheese and I am lactose intolerant The restaurant has a good menu with gluten free, vegan , vegetarian advice etc. However no lactose advice so I asked about buttermilk in the chicken and after some explaining the waitress was able to tell me yes, I asked her to mention that to the manager so it could be added as to the menu. I am visually impaired and so need these items to be easily seeable to prevent mistakes and Illness. When I paid the staff had not told the manager so I spoke with the chef who did not appear interested in what I was saying Then the manager arrived and was of the opinion that my observation was not wanted as I should ask if not clear. I pointed out that the menu does try to be allergy friendly but was missing this important information he was quite hostile telling me I could eat elsewhere. I thought this a little bit rude and asked him his name so I could approach the owners about this but he refused I was then ejected from the restaurant I feel this was totally unacceptable and arrogant. I will not eat here again and would caution others to view the menu very carefully or eat elsewhere if you don’t want my bad experience

Use this cafe quite often , never had a bad experience and see quite a few others use it on a regular basis . The young ladies at front of house are attentive , they look out constantly for visitors and are quick to open the door . They often recognise regulars and have a chat , for ladies so young that is not seen often . Today I had Eggs Florentine , I was a little dissapointed with the first egg , bit overdone but would not complain as generally food is perfect here , everyone can make an error . But pretty quickly another egg turned up , without asking as the chef realised he had not given the best !! What more can you ask !!!

Ordered from yummy for a business lunch today, ordered sandwich platters and cake platters, having not ordered from here before as were a company based in Hertfordshire, we were so happy with the service. We ordered a few sandwich platters and cake platters. Yummy we’re so accommodating, they also cater for vegan & vegetarians. Delivery arrived early, and everyone said the food was sooo yummy! Popped in to give this place a try. I normally eat at Mem Has but wanted to try something different for a change.. Basic order of white coffee and poaches eggs on toast.. The server specifically asked me do I want them soft or hard "Soft of course" After waiting about 20 mins and then served someone else's breakfast ( only 2 of us in place) my food turned up. Nice fresh breath toasted with nice coffee but rock hard poaches eggs. Disappointing they can't get the basics right.. Unfortunately the service by the 2 disinterested teens was also poor A shame as it has potential buts way off Mem Has

I had coffee with my partner and when I went to pay the nice young waitress she told me could not take the Scottish £20 note I offered. I asked why and she said she did not know as it was a management decision. I wanted to change the note so I could tip her but the management put her in the embarrassing position of refusing my money, I am not easily embarrassed but just felt sorry for her, and also denying her a tip. As a tourist this has put me off returning to this cafe in a town where I have never had my money refused before. I know loss of my business will not make a great dent in the turnover but I am in this town a few times a year and I would imagine in the current economic climate any business would want all the custom they can get.

So first off the delivery took almost 2 hours to arrive and to make up for it all they offered was 2 watered down milkshakes. The food itself was absolutely awful. My wrap which I asked for with ketchup came with cranberry sauce. I paid for double bacon which apparently only constitutes 2 measly rashers in the entire wrap. My sons all day breakfast was nothing short of shambolic. Apparently the photo attached is supposed to be scrambled egg but honestly is a closer resemblance to a ball of sick. I will never order from here again and I want my money back!

Been using yumy for many years and is usually good to excellent however today 30th October for some reason the standard has gone down hill which is a shame. I have seen the restaurant much busier then today and had no problem. The service was dreadful the food was served wrong and cold six times I asked for sweeteners to be bought for our coffees. The cutlery needed changing as was dirty. Sadly I’m not sure we will be returning we are feeling disappointed

Couldn’t decide where to eat so settled on this little gem of a place. Located in a quiet square away from the main town, Yumy offer a great selection of food from breakfast to light lunches with a great variety in between. They also sell protein shakes, Keto shakes and ordinary shakes. I went for Chicken Royale with chips, a breaded chicken breast in a bun with lettuce and Mayo. Reasonably priced at £9.90. Service was excellent, attentive staff, very friendly and polite. You couldn’t ask for more from a town centre restaurant. A great place to meet people too.

Lovely lunch - tried the Tennessee burger (very yummy!) and a halloumi wrap (super delicious). Had cold and hot drinks. Service was fast and friendly. Price was a bit steep, but everything is expensive these days. Will come back.

We sat upstairs after checking this was ok, we gave up waiting for our order to be taken. Staff wished us a good day as we left. We explained the situation and received an apology but decided to go elsewhere.

The food used to be really good here and was always my “go-to” if I wanted a really tasty and fulfilling lunch. However, I’ve noticed in recent times the standard of food has gone down. For example, the chicken burger used to contain a freshly cooked chicken breast but now contains a cheap tasting fried bit of chicken and the spaghetti carbonara just tastes awful. It’s a real shame and here’s hoping things improve!

Been coming to this cafe regularly for the last 3 years.If you're looking for a textbook example of a all day breakfast look no futher.It has consistsntly blown us away how good the food is here.The chips they do here are without doubt the best chips ive ever had. Having walked past this café on numerous occasions I was impressed and decided, this lunchtime, to give it a try. Thank goodness I did. Nice seating outside with friendly service. Good coffee and a quite extensive menu, including a great choice for veggies of all denominations. Prices are more than reasonable for this quality and quantity of food. Well worth a visit if you are hungry at all times of the day.

It could have been warmer sitting outside to keep an eye the bikes but the 20-minute wait for our food was well worthwhile. My Piri Piri panini plus a small salad was first class. Hot well baked and tasted spicy with an excellent flavour. My partner's baked potato with tuna came with a salad and coleslaw. There was enough of it to cover a large plate.

This is now our regular breakfast hotspot, I never have any issues with the food at Yumy's! Always good service and good food The only thing i would change is the sausage, its not the nicest Overall i will continue to go to the resturant

Had the all day breakfast,couldn’t fault it,all well cooked and came up piping hot. Came with choice of white or brown toast and a tea or coffee. Fairly priced at under 8 quid.

Helpful staff, who were very nice, 10/10. The restaurant is well decorated, clean, well lit and all round pleasant. In fact the only reason I could fault this place was that my plate had a rather large chip in it, and secondly the jacket potato didn’t have a jacket, sorry , I do like a well baked jacket on my jacket potato. The Mrs loved her wrap.

Took my mum here for lunch last week. First visit and wont be the last. Mum is in a wheelchair and has dementia ,the access for the wheelchair was very good and there was space to store it while we had lunch. There is a very good choice on the menu. Staff were very helpful and patient with mum and were happy to do a childrens portion for her.She also enjoyed a portion of apple crumble and cream. I had club sandwich and it was well filled and tasty. A lovely spot for lunch ,will return

We stumbled upon this place and were not disappointed. Great variety of lunch options - our table selected a Chicken Caesar Salad, Kidney Pie, and Fish & Chips - and we throughly enjoyed each one. Combined with tremendous value and friendly service, dining at Yumy is a tough place to beat.

I came here back in April with my friend and his children. It was a lovely welcoming little cafe that serves a variety of food from health to greasy spoon. I would not say that the food was the best I have eaten but it did the trick with it's large portions. The staff were friendly and were great with the children. However, for a family orientated place I was surprised to not see baby changing facilities on site. It is not a big place, so I suppose it cannot be helped.

Came in with my wife just for a coffee. A lot of coffee shops don’t tended to entertain people who just want a coffee, but kristina made us feel welcome and nothing was too much. Great cafe. Great service. Definitely recommend and come back again

We were looking round the shops and decided we needed a break for refreshments. This was the first place we came across. It has a wide frontage with outdoor seating which is primarily used by smokers sadly.

I ate here with my children. In general I find that most cafés in Braintree are average at best. This is one of the better ones. We had fish and chips, which was OK but clearly frozen not fresh. The Sausage sandwich was good. The service is good and the staff are friendly.

I have always loved Yumys Café. The food, the service, the location, etc. On the other hand, a specific staff member (I believe her name is Zara) is extremely ill-mannered towards the younger staff. I know of someone who previously worked here who felt as though she was bullied at her own working environment. They may seem friendly towards customers however, I find it disgusting how she treats her fellow staff members. I believe that the atmosphere of Yumys café would improve increasingly without Zara.

We went in to Yumy's having not been there for a year. What used to be a nice friendly welcoming place has been completely overhauled. From the get go, there was chaos. I was rushed to a seat by a rather obnoxious and loud girl who was then bossing younger staff around and being an all round foghorn. Manager? If so, terrible staffing choice. We sat down at dirty tables and ordered our food, cannot complain about the food, it's bog standard and was cooked just fine, does the job. I couldn't believe that the staff then began sweeping and mopping around us, despite not closing for another 2 hours! (According to Miss thing, that's just what they do everyday.) The whole time we felt unwelcome, especially with the clear stress all the staff were under, probably because they are ill equipped when it comes to busy times. Won't be going back, it's not the nice place it used to be when popping in for coffee and a snack, I've left feeling angry, dirty and with a huge headache.

so we were in braintree town centre looking for a lunchtime mealthis building used to be a cafe but now the food is restaurant quality we both had ham cheese and tomato omelettes with chips. These were perfectly cooked using fresh produce and a huge amount of ham and tomato so much so neither of us could finish out meal. the place was spotlessly clean as for the staff they were incredibly friendly looking after and chatting to all the customers with big smiles... we will definitely eat here again

Been there today by 15,00 food was fair quality not bad,not the best,but plates was yacky , dirty with food stains,not YUMY, like the name of the place , While we was eating,the staff start swiping the floor rising the dust in the air . GOLDEN rule in a restaurant : clean when no customers in,eating!!!! I kindly ask them if we are unwanted there as they start cleaning,like all customers gone. Very rude and sadly happend in most of the restaurants.

All day brunch ordered. Egg like a bullet and poor quality deep fried sausages. It also staggers me that a cafe thinks serving tinned mushrooms is ok? Surely its better to use fresh produce and source a good meat supplier.A shame as the place is clean and smart.

We have been visiting Yumy for years now and the service and food never disappoint. Our favourite meal are their jacket potatoes with various fillings which are always piping hot and very tasty. Our favourite drink is their Chai Latte which is sweet, creamy, spicy and the best latte I have ver tasted! The staff are all very friendly and the service is fast, clean and efficient. The recent(ish) refurb is stylish and contemporary and there is a tv in the main restaurant and upstairs which mostly shows music videos. There is always a good atmosphere there and it is a very popular place, always buzzing and full. Sometimes we sit outside and eat which is also an option. My only complaint is that it is a little dark downstairs but the food and the service more than compensate. A great way to spend a lazy lunch time!

Hidden away in the centre of town, Yumy offers a chance to get away from the throng for a varied menu from coffee and a tea cake to good sized cooked meals.Clean, friendly and no frills. You get what you see and the service is quick and the food well priced.Not much more to add but we visit Yumy most times we are in town and will hopefully continue to do so.

We enjoyed our visit and took our 3 year old with us, brilliant that with the breakfasts we both got our drinks included also there was enough to give our son toast and baked beans and the staff didn't mind at all.

I often pop in here for food whenever I'm in town. The food is lovely, and the portions are great. The service is aways good and it's such good value. I'm a big coffee drinker, and the coffee here is "proper" coffee. Highly recommend this place.

The service was great but it was let down by the food, it has to be the worst breakfast I've ever had, you can tell that the bacon and sausages were cheaply sourced because they tasted disgusting, i took one bite of each and couldn't eat them, avoiding in future, gave stars for service, no stars for food.

Delicious food served in a warm friendly atmosphere. We eat here a lot as its good value for money and you definitely can't beat the food anywhere else in town.

Has a friendly feeling about it, help full staff, food is very good. decor could do with updating down stairs a bit dark. toilet not suitible for disabled people as its up stairs. to get a wheel chair in there would be a bit tight feel they would have to move tables around.

This is the second time we have visited and its a lovely tearoom in braintree, its always very popular. Food is fab, staff are polite, service is speedy and its very reasonably priced. Much better than the normal large high street brands.

Yummy is very very nice, a nice lot of choice on the menu , also nice food for the little ones as well, staff very friendly and helpful, and looks very nice with the new decor just been done.

I visit here nearly each week meeting a friend for lunch. We enjoy the prompt service although certain waitresses can struggle to understand English. However the food is fine. I normally have a jacket potato but last time I asked if I could have a bit more butter and then was rewarded with a potato overcome with butter! Won't make that mistake again. I do think the price for the jacket potato you get is overpriced and so I will be changing what I eat from now on.So long as food remains nice I will keep coming. Also the owner is always so friendly when you go to pay, shame some of his waitresses can't learn from him, instead of being rather abrupt.

Well, my title says it all. We have been here 4 times and each time different waitresses have been very short with us, smack our drinks down on the table - spilling them without cleaning the mess, and while the food it ok, it just leaves a bad impression. But when you go to pay it's like you're in a totally different café. The teller staff are always polite and friendly and happy to chat. A very mixed review on this one.

We live close to this place but hadn't used before. Decided to have a lazy bank holiday Monday (due to rubbish weather) and popped in for late breakfast / early lunch.Prompt service, good food, good prices and clean throughout. No hesitation in recommending.

Went here for lunch today. Got shown to a table which was clean and tidy. The waitress was very friendly and our drinks order was taken quickly. The menu was very good with great variety and great prices. The food arrived quickly and was tasty. Really enjoyed it and would happily go back again.

My partner and I have been to 'Yumy Cafe' quite a few times within this past month. Polite staff, quick service, great food! The only few things I could mark them down on are that the cutlery could have been a bit cleaner, the past few times we've visited we have had some marks on our knives and forks. Also my partner and I have had the bacon a few times and it's about 70% fat, very hard to eat, perhaps consider cutting the fat off? Apart from that it's a lovely cafe very nice to go in and have a quick coffee or a full meal they cater for everything you fancy. Can be quite busy when it's a nice day so it's obviously a well liked place!

Well the title says it all . The staff are so welcoming even with my 5 children I go so much they know me too well . Even with this fact I'm still left to carry on peacefully with friends family to enjoy my coffee lunch . Best cafe in Braintree
