Booked here for a Sunday Carvery with a large group (11 people). When we arrived the table wasn’t ready but the staff were very informative and directed us to the bar to wait and gave a buzzer to alert us to when the table was ready. The carvery was great with plenty of options to suit all. The venue was VERY busy but the staff were friendly and warm while being very busy. Would certainly visit again if in the area

terrible service waited nearly 40 minutes for breakfast. when it came it was swimming in grease. One of the waitresses was petty a customer's dog(love dogs) but it was licking her hand and she carried on clearing table after. Tried to use toilet upstairs as that's what we used last visit but a very rude woman said it was now a tanning salon? so go downstairs. Won't be visiting again thanks !!

Very unfriendly welcome came in as said dog friendly came in with a small dog, barked once as he tried to get on the filthy chairs so lifted him to the floor. Was told to move him , fair enough, bar staff then said oh and no barking! We had our grandson with us who's 6 and we left as never felt so unwelcome and he was crying because he couldn't understand why so rude! You should be ashamed of yourselves. I respect your rules but there is a way of talking to your customers.

Spent 4 days in chapel last week . Not many pubs open after 10 o’clock in September. But this place was open till half past. Beer expensive . Gin and lemonade served in a wine glass . Bar staff rude especially one that looked like she was duty manager. Dark hair . Ordered my drink asking for a gin and lemonade . To be asked again what with ? No fruit or I’ve just gin and lemonade . Windows were dirty the whole visit . Doesn’t look inviting . No wonder it’s only got a 3 on the door .

I visited with my mum for a Sunday roast. Didn’t have high expectations given some of the reviews, but I’m so glad I gave it a go anyway. The venue was spacious and light, nicely decorated, and very accessible for those less mobile. The staff were just lovely, chatty, friendly & very helpful. And the food…. the food was delicious! Plentiful variety and amount of vegetables, which were nicely cooked and looked fresh and appealing. Roast, creamed & dauphinois potato, roast parsnips, tender, lean meat (on this occasion, pork), and a super sized, hot and crisp Yorkshire pudding. And the gravy was so very tasty, and plentiful, as was the supply of apple sauce. Generous, friendly, warm, inviting, fresh, delicious & good value too. I couldn’t have asked for more!

Compare the prices and quality of the food with any other local cafe, you cannot beat this place. My wife and myself’s top place for consistently good food and service.

Ordered milk for my toddler. Had toddle on hip and stressed to the guy that it shouldn’t be hot at all as it was for my toddler. Got scolding hot milk. Took it back and super politely tried to explain to the woman that they needed to be careful if people specify they are getting drinks for a toddler as a toddler could scold themselves if then mother doesn’t check. She was 100% not bothered at all.

Regularly pop in for a cup of tea or coffee and have had meals there as well. Great portions of home made dishes. Steak pie is one of the best ever tasted.

What an absolute disgrace!! , thats putting it mildly. We ordered two kids meals and 2 adult meals 42.00 I wouldn't even give my dogs the meal that came out . The kids meals didn't even have beans peas or gravey on it . The mash was like play dough the sausage was burnt I had to ask for another one to be done . Then pay 4.00 extra for beans . I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PUB TO NOBODY !!!!!
