What an absolute disgrace!! , thats putting it mildly. We ordered two kids meals and 2 adult meals 42.00 I wouldn't even give my dogs the meal that came out . The kids meals didn't even have beans peas or gravey on it . The mash was like play dough the sausage was burnt I had to ask for another one to be done . Then pay 4.00 extra for beans . I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PUB TO NOBODY !!!!!

Doing this for 2022 as I have seen the same meal I had which was looked nothing like mine, so well done to my chef. Firstly the place is dark day and night, even my daughter who never comes out of her bedroom moaned it was dark. Nice outside sitting area. Not a great selection of good beers on tap. Now to the food, I had Ham, egg, peas and chips, the enemy had steak and ale pie, both were fantastic, so good we went back again for the same order (with me ordering 2 extra eggs as they was so good), her indoors pie was great. Third time we went we both had gammon and although the chips and egg were good the gammon was a bit tough(asked me for a fight). I all a good place to eat.

Not a 5 star hotel but we paid very little and got polite helpful staff, clean nice room and the hotel had good facilities and breakfast was lovely for £3 what more could you ask for. Do not listen to the bad reviews because for £60 a night you get a lot more than you pay for and will definitely be going back next time we are down that way.

Went today with family and friends two young children. Spent a bit in their getting drinks ect then decided to order food.. the staff was so so rude i wouldn’t ever go back here. Youngish lads no manners, discusting customer service skills and not once popped a smile. Swearing behind the bar and just plain site rude we was appalled and if the staff carry on how they do they will run that place into the ground it’s horrendous atmosphere. In the arcade bit we spent around £6 doing 2p machine trying to get little one a toy the toy got stuck we told the staff they said no not getting it u we’ve already gave someone a prize from their today and we lost the keys now. But still watched us put money in for nothing? Then walked off no apology no nothing so I approached the staff member again said well are you going to at least put out of order sign up so other children don’t do the same and waste money thinking they can get the toy off he literally just looked at me gone out and walked off came back with sign. Still nowt to say. We left angry and shocked at all this.

We decided to come here as we wanted a proper meal. When you first go in it's so dark that you need a flash light which is ridiculous when it's the middle of the day!The tables were dirty and when we asked a member of staff to clean it she started complaining to us how she'd been left on her own whilst her colleague had gone out to buy herself something and not asked her if she wanted anything. We ordered our food which was 2 large breakfasts, a double bacon cheese burger with chips that was from the special board and chicken gougons and chips. The service was good at the bar I will say that, the young lady was polite and friendly. Whilst waiting for our food I went to the toilet with my mum, first there are no signs saying where they are and another customer kindly told us where they were. Secondly they are disgusting they look like they haven't been cleaned in forever and the worst part was all but one of the toilet seats were falling off! The food didn't take long to come but once I looked at the food I was disappointed, the bacon on the breakfasts was covered in black grease where they hadn't cleaned the grill in God knows how long. The chips were frozen chips, my burger was horrible, not sure if they were handmade but they were the driest burgers I've ever eaten, the bacon on it was covered in fat and there was a tiny square of the thinnest cheese possible! The only meal that was ok was the chicken gougons. In total I paid just over £44 for 4 meals and 4 drinks, total waste of money, would also like to add that all the staff are kids, from the bar staff to the kitchen staff I didn't see anyone older than about 21, no offense to people of that age but it's not surprising we had such a bad experience when the place is being run by people of that age! Might visit for a drink but would avoid like the plague for food!

Me and my family of 4 booked for a night over the bank holiday on a planned trip with other family who we had also recommended this hotel too from our previous stay in February. Today was an experience I am fuming with .. we booked through booking.com £120 for the family room , we decided to park at a friends caravan in ingoldmells and walk up to the hotel and check in to return later , we was informed by the receptionist that we didn’t have a room booked , although they said they could see our booking from Booking.com they hadn’t reserved our room which we booked . As u could imagine we had two disappointed kids as the possibility might have to drive home as everywhere was booked up been bank holiday , the receptionist attitude was I don’t know what we can do for you !! Which wasn’t great under the circumstances, how can you mess a booking up and potentially ruin a family experience. 2ndly our family members had also booked the anchor through booking.com 2adults and an infant, was then told they had been put in the dunes suit but wasn’t aloud a baby in there as it was adults only , fortunately for them they was aloud to stay , but we wasn’t so lucky as the receptionist reluctantly found us a room miles away from what we planned in burgh le Marsh. This hotel and booking.com definitely need a lesson on booking in , i won’t be returning for this reason as it seems your room isn’t guaranteed !!

Great choice for kids too. 4 meals, 3 desserts, 2 bottles of cider, j20, and a very nice cocktail and the bill was just under £60, such good value for money. The staff are super friendly, and they were very helpful. They were getting ready for the England game and was busy but nothing was to much... Decided to eat here while on a mini break over the bank holiday. Family room was extremely noisy due to music & entertainment, however persevered & ordered food. Given a numbered wooden spoon at the bar & waited for food. Whilst waiting (an hour), we watched 1 waiter run in & out of the kitchen with plates of food, not knowing which table had ordered what. Even though he was under alot of stress, he stayed calm & was polite even under pressure. Food was good value & the whole family enjoyed it. I think management should look at their bar to waiting staff ratio at peak periods as this was extremely unfair on that 1 member of staff.

Well where do i start? Walked in to a pub/hotel/resterauant that makes a tired looking place look up market. Kids allowed to climb over the furniture, including tables!Kids screaming & running riot. Dogs allowed in the resteraunt. Sat down & looked at the menu. As you do when you want food. Only to find upon ordering food, that around half of what is on the menu, is now NOT on the menu! No mention anywhere that the menu has or will change. They have removed prawn cocktail, chilli nachos, potato wedges, buffalo wings, chilli dog, rib eye steak, cajun chicken, ALL JACKET POTATOES,Chefs chicken, pasta carbonara, pasta bolognase. These are just the ones i remember. I have just sent my food back. Allegedly home made lasagne with FULL salad. 2 bits of cucumber 2 bits of tomato a bit of onion & a ton of lettuce. Ok if your names bugs bunny. This so called lasagne should've come with a straw!I have put a picture up so you can see. The "full salad" was more of a side salad. Avoid this place, unless you are EXTREMELY easily pleased.

The pub it's self is busy recently compared to recent years gone by especially since the toilets were refurbished, I. Have been in a lot more towards the backend of last season and the beginning of this season, I cannot comment on the food as I have never eaten here, but there is one big problem here, which is the male staff that are employed here, they may be reliable and smart but actually take your money before they pour a drink ,and never smile, never make any please, or thank you comments, we asked for a kids pop and the words used back were "kids room"nothing else, it doesn't cost anything to smile and have manners, I do like the pub and hope it can sort this out going forward because it has got potential, maybe a customer care programme should be introduced going forward, still it's worth a visit just to see if you get a smile or a thank you!!

Also we had to wait 45 minutes for the meals to turn up which we were told at first but could not understand why as there were not many other people eating at the time. We called in here for the Sunday lunch carvery. The food was reasonable and there was plenty of it, but it was a little on the cold side. They need to sort out the counter because flies were buzzing around the food. The old lady that served the meat at the carvery didn't seem to mind at all, but then again she wasn't going to be eating it, was she; she was too busy chatting with other staff members at the end of the carvery oblivious to the needs of customers. She was very ignorant and could do with a lesson in manners. If you can't be friendly to customers you shouldn't be working in a pub! Even the bar staff were ignorant. What has happened to good customer service? You are there to give your customers a good experience so that we come back and spend more money, not to growl at them and make them feel like they are intruding.WE pay your wages!!!!

MORE AT TripAdvisor

I've been to this hotel a few times over the years and despite some bad reviews I never thought this place was bad. I always thought, it's only a place to sleep but was very comfortable in a decent location and you couldn't grumble. However, my most recent visit just wasn't the same and although I have been a returning visitor for years and have always recommended it to others AND have always brought people with me, shall not be returning. I stayed with my boyfriend and 2 of our friends who have never visited skegness before so was excited for them to visit with us. They had seen bad reviews before we arrived but assured them this hotel was fine... And it was, for the first couple of nights. We stayed for 4 nights in total. On the first night, we decided to eat in the pub downstairs which has always been fine but this time the portion of bangers and mash was rather small but still tasted alright. We always took advantage of the upstairs part in the bar with the darts and pool tables, with us being young adults we enjoyed our own space. A couple of days into our stay, the light in our bathroom went making it impossible to see whilst in there due to there being no internal windows. We dealt with it the best we could and the next morning informed the housekeepers of this issue. They took note of our room number and rushed off, we assumed they were going to deal with this problem. We arrived back that night to find it was still not working so my boyfriend went down to reception to ask simply when it would be fixed as having no light made it INCREDIBLY different to shower, use the toilet and sink unless leaving the door open. They told us no one would be able to fix it until morning so we agreed and waited. Next morning we left the room, did our daily activities, arrived back and it had still not been done. This was either our last or second to last night so just gave up and got on with it. We aren't unreasonable people and don't like to complain but we gave them a lot of chances. I feel a tad let down by this hotel after defending them for so long. I felt like, because we were young adults, we got treated that way and were not taken seriously and I did not feel like a guest. We aren't troublemakers and are very respectful towards others for our age. We had a complaint one night about noise even though I believe we weren't being loud. We were only playing card games and always tried our hardest to be as quiet as we could. The walls in this hotel are INCREDIBLY paper thin and you can always hear what other people are saying so again, felt this was slightly unfair but we left our room and headed to the upstairs part of the bar to be fair to the other guests. From our room (late at night and early morning) we heard guests arguing, swearing, kids screaming, constant banging and did not once complain! I'm just so disappointed and feel like maybe our age made staff feel negatively towards us. So unfortunately I won't be returning here again.

What an awful experience!!! We stayed for 2 nights over New Year to attend a wedding. The kitchen closed at 7pm so we were too late to order bar food, but the menu was limited to Pukka pie or scampi and looked unappitising! We had no heating and had to sleep in layers of clothing, hats and scarves to keep warm. We asked for extra blankets but they didn't arrive. We were told the heating was boosted and goes off at 11 o'clock, even though outside temperatures were -4c! We couldn't even warm up in the shower as the water was cold. We weren't even offered breakfast on New Years Morning and had to travel on an empty stomach. The room wasn't cleaned or tea making facilities refreshed! So we moved around to there and our daughter had a great time dancing on the dancefloor, making new friends and playing musical statues, while I had a few more pints (and the wife had a few more cokes. Pregnant again!!!)We spent a few more nights of our holiday at the Anchor and we will be again when we go back to ingoldmells in August, with our new addition. Cheers!

Called in here about 3 or 4 times during our stay, family friendly pub and a cosy atmosphere, with an adults only bar should you wish for more peace and quiet. We did eat here once, buying 4 meals and every 1 without exception was poor quality, bland, cold or lacked taste.Lovely pub, but eat at the cafe across the road, much cheaper and much better food.

visited May half term. Food is just ok really, nothing to get excited about. It does however do a fabulous children disco in the family room. Kids also have a separate tuckshop counter. Worth a visit for a drink and to entertain the children. I would probably eat somewhere else beforehand

Dont know how they are still open the bar staff are horrible what happened to service with a smile!!! Wud of walked out but kids were starving! You just get grunts from the bar staff when you spoke to them, all other businesses nearby were really busy but this pub was empty compared to them!

I visited this restaurant a few years back and the attitude of the bar staff was apalling. We visited again hoping that time would have sorted the wheat from the chaff regarding the staff, how wrong we were! We spent no more than 30 seconds in there. When we asked at the bar for a highchair we got no more than a shoulder shrug and a hand wave. The atmosphere is dire and it is little wonder, avoid at all costs!

Awful drinks, this place has benches and tables along the front which cannot be used unless you purchase so we went for coffee - they do not serve decaf! A coffee place without decaf in 2024! Hot coffee and coffee was £5.80, they had no lids, no extras offered on the hot chocolate. Go along the parade to Butlins for a lovely hot choc, with extras for less and benches a plenty with a friendly service plus you even get a biscuit. Bibby's felt unwelcoming, poor on service and customer needs. Only the front counter looked open and the prices were insane for a coastal basic snack bar. Not going back, there was horrible grain in the bottom of the cup which didn't even look like chocolate 😕 I threw it away and went to sit on the wall. Needs to up its game for 2025 and be appealing as the competition is much better.

Really impressed with Basil's restaurant! Visited here for lunch whilst holidaying in the area and their homemade cheesecake range looked amazing! We opted for the strawberry and white chocolate one which we took away and that was very good quality. We also had the sausage and onion chutney paninis and they were really good. Very generous with the onion chutney and lovely butchers sausages. The homemade coleslaw was also very nice. The restaurant is very modern, light and vibrant, really nice décor and very welcoming. It's a lovely little garden centre too with lots of nice things to look at. Was gutted I didn't get to see their gorgeous spaniel dog Jack this time, but hopefully next time! 🤞Will definitely make sure this is a place I make a point of visiting when I holiday here next year as the cheesecake is not to be missed!

Nice place for kids and adults. Bingo every day and night. Arcades for the kids and a food stall outside but you can take it inside to eat
