Smugglers Inn in East Lindsey

Spent 4 days in chapel last week . Not many pubs open after 10 o’clock in September. But this place was open till half past. Beer expensive . Gin and lemonade served in a wine glass . Bar staff rude especially one that looked like she was duty manager. Dark hair . Ordered my drink asking for a gin and lemonade . To be asked again what with ? No fruit or I’ve just gin and lemonade . Windows were dirty the whole visit . Doesn’t look inviting . No wonder it’s only got a 3 on the door .

The bar is an absolute joke with extortionate prices. The outside is shocking with no money spent on it what so ever. The tables and benches have just been left to rot, which is such a shame as this pub could be made to look really nice if only a small amount of money was spent on it, but it seems the management don't care at all, hence the ridiculously priced drinks.

Only called for a couple of pints good value at £7 for 2 pints service avg would call again due to the good value thanks mark

Too expensive! No food. Bottle of Bud almost a fiver! Can get 20 for £12 at supermarket. It’s extortion the price of a beer. Won’t go back.

Went with a family with young children. We couldn't stop more than a few minutes due to the foul language in the family room as well as the drunken shouting and chants. Hasn't been the same since Coastfields took over as it's lost it friendly family vibe.

Fantastic treasure of a place, a real family atmosphere like it was back in the day. A place where you can sit as a family and enjoy each others company. Has two pool tables, a small selection of 2p machines a grabber and a mini ride for the young ones. We were greeted by a lovely couple who really made us feel welcomed. It was so nice to find a original family pub.

This place beggars belief..we sat outside when we first got there and was reluctant to go inside as smelt rat pee outside and scores of 3 on the doors but hubby went inside and I decided to move tables because strong smell .. the tables are pealing and they can’t be bothered to just paint them that to me says everything!! Theres pigeon poo all outside the signage it’s just filthy . When hubby came out he said good job you didn’t go in the carpets are disgusting and just a mess He brought out a bottle of Corona and no glass but I was weary of drinking as probably rats been running over them Put it this way if you dare visit this place then I truly hope you don’t get sick.

I must say this must be worst pub I've ever been in, wat a flee pit, u wipe Yr feet when u come out, over priced drinks, they were setting up a auction for the night time when we was there, oh my good it was just junk you would throw in the bin, no locks on toilets hand dryers don't work, had one drink could not wait to go and never go back again

We went here expecting to stay for the nights entertainment but it was absolutely freezing! We asked the staff to close the door at the rear of the bar as the cold draft was freezing but wee qsre told that it had to be left open for covid reasons,; eh, that's all passed now hasn't it??? The place is bloody freezing and the staff didn't seem to give a damn and we would have stayed for the rest of Tthe evening but we were absolutely frozen and none of the staff seemed ro give a sh-t, absolutely shocking! Surely us being there spending money is what the management want but it seems that any management hasn't got a hold on the place, otherwise customer complaints regarding the terrible, freezing cold draft would ha e been listened to and something done about it but no, the bar staff knew better?! NB: Sort the front door out as well as it doesn't close properly and a cold draft comes in from that also!!!

Really liked this pub… very welcoming.. it’s gets very busy they could do with more staff!? Really enjoyed it here though good prices for the drinks it’s very cheap food okay area for the kids also! Will be back again we come every year!

1 we are down on holiday,we decided to go here for drink ,but when we finally got seated a women came across took our order ,she tried to charger us 19.50 for 4 drinks ,which was 1 pint of larger which was 3.50,1 gin and lemonade which was 4.50 ,2 fruit shoots which was 1.80 each .I told her it was wrong ,all she said was it was right .I think you should go back to school and learn your maths again .she returned to bar to fetch a bloke which came and said it was 15.00 ,still didn't agree ,so told him to take the fruit shoots and drinks back .if you want to be ripped off then go there .I feel sorry people who go in there especially if u have already been drinking and just agree to pay the price .this place is a joke ,I thing for sure I will never go in there again .

Excellent child friendly pub, Always clean and tidy, Staff welcoming and friendly, Plenty of seating inside and out and a little arcade for the kids,

great large outside space, to sit in the sun and have a beer. lovely clean toilets- which is always a bonus

inside a absolute dump which reinforces first impression of the place with there 3 stars out of 5 hygene rating posted on the front door.this is the place all of Lincolnshires finest chavs come in to show off their 2nd hand burberry caps from Ingoldmells market.bar staff proudly wear their face masks around the chin as they glare at you for daring to ask for a drink as youve just disturbed them from their chatter with their mates....to be completely fair the outside beer garden was a great little suntrap

Had a few drinks in here on a recent caravan break. Reasonably priced with Happy Hour 4pm till 7pm. Friendly efficient staff. Family area with pool tables & amusement arcade.

Called in on Tuesday with my elderly Mum. I mentioned to the barman the glasses looked "milky" he said it was just water marks! Flat bitter and lager, I would have taken them back but decided to leave and go to the Moon fleet. Any bar staff worth their salt would have checked to see if the glasses were clean!!! Someone needs training in the art of bar keeping. Horrible.

Popped in for. Swift half on a Sunday afternoon due to it being dog friendly. Looks good from the outside but more like a bus waiting room from the inside. No real ales - and when asking for drinks the bar chap made it clear he was unhappy when my partner requested a glass for her bottle of cider. So much so decided not to ask for ice!! Possibly nice place in the evening if you are with a group of friends - however personally would not return.

We have been coming to this resort for years.. The smugglers in is a great pub to visit.. There is a small arcade for the kids, 2 pool tables, the bar staff are friendly.. Go pay a visit..😀

This is a place we always call in when visiting Chaple, they have a children's room with pool table, slots, and various games to keep kids occupied. Beer cheap when it's happy hour think it's 4 till 7. Karaoke and a singer on at night.

It's not a bad place but there are better places . Just got back from hols went in here 4 times but not sure about the beers on happy hour they tasted bland compared to other bars . It's a dark decorated place not warm n welcoming it's a quick drink n on to next . The toilets did smell every time we made a visit so you don.t want to stay they have an outside food bar but we checked it out every visit n did not look edible or inviting unless your wearing your beer goggles . To be honest it was not busy at all every time we went in or walked by . They allow dogs on lead u cannot let them go on seats . The carpet looked liked so many dogs had had a pee on it so many stains ....move on

Lovely pub. Every Monday they have an auction. Come get your bargains here. Seating outside, lovely in the summer. Close to crazy golf and amusement arcades

During our holiday me and my partner had a rare evening out without the kids. We called into this pub for a drink and was pretty impressed with the family room having two pool tables and a little mini arcade to keeps the kids entertained. We decided on our final night we'd come out with kids and bring them there have a few drinks while they played. However although there's a sign saying kids must be supervised while we were in there, not one other adult was with there kids (I kind of expected that) the two penny machine had hardly any money in meaning the kids would have to literally fill it before playing, and although the change machine took my £10 note and gave me £1 coins neither of the 2p machines were actually working. So after a very disappointing 10 mins we decided to get a quick drink before taking the kids across the road to play in a proper arcade

Happy hour is 4 till 8 great prices. Had a dj on doing karaoke there was a few good singers so an enjoyable night. Pizza shed outside doing kebabs, pizza chips jackets, we had a pizza was lovely

Right next to two caravan parks. Has two pool tables. And a take away hut out front nice to sit out front and have a drink on a sunny day

called in after having a walk round on first day of break excellent interior staff very friendly and offered good advice on how to get to various places in village

Outside looks bedraggled. Beer is cheap happy hour 4 till 8. Seems to get locals in didn't serve food but had plenty of nuts and crisps. Worth a visit

Although out of season this place was open with happy hour all day Carlin £2.20 and a good pint too could do with toilets updating smelt a bit bar staff were friendly and so were local people first time in place to visit family and friends won't be last keep up the good work

The Smugglers is no longer a restaurant. It serves the normal beers wines and spirits. The beers are at a very reduced rate during the happy hours. There is a snack bar outside serving te normal snack bar stuff, Bergerac, chips etc.

Don’t be put of what it looks like. Very friendly staff, good beer and nicely priced, especially on happy hour (4:00pm to 8:00pm). Worth a visit, but everybody leaves after happy hour.

From the outside looks great although the front could do with a sweep & wash down once in a while (litter, cigarette butts etc). Atmosphere was good although staff could be friendlier. Not enough sitting either. Toilets are dated and need modernising

Stopped here for several drinks whilst on my stag do in July. Fantastic pub which seem overshadowed missed (although there were plenty in) by the nearby Maid Marion (over rated IMHO). Beer was cheap enough and a very good pint too. Plenty of seating inside and out. Highly recomended.

There is no restrauant in this pub, although there is a fast food shack outside that serves chips, burgers, pizza and other quick food. you can use the pubs outside tables to eat or take-a-way

I have just spent a week in chapel and visited the smugglers inn on a couple of occasions. The pub has happy hour 4-6pm and is priced at £2 per pint so you can imagine it gets very busy.The pub is very clean and tidy and the staff are very friendly.
