Proper tea, delicious cake and scones with a fabulous hot chocolate for the non tea drinker. Thanks to Donna for re-opening for us, lovely start to our weekend.

Used to come to this café a lot when I lived locally, and it's always been great, so came with a friend after parkrun for breakfast. Breakfast great, service great, BUT prices on menu add up to £19.60, and when I queried being charged £27 I was told the prices had gone up, but they'd not updated the blackboard. That's a heck of a price rise to keep secret.

This pub, sports bar, restaurant has an eclectic mix of patrons all adding to it's broad appeal. The bar is very well stocked with plenty of choice of beers ales & ciders. Wine & cocktails too although these are a bit pricey. To counter this there is a happy hour from 15:00 with a selection of beers for £3.50 Sky sports is on all the time & the mix track is ok if a bit loud.

Tucked away but worth finding. An old fashioned pub with excellent service and very well kept Ales, and an excellent selection. They offer food, only until 2.30 and bar snacks. Plenty of seating inside with snugs and even more covered and outside. Well definitely be back.

We used to visit here regularly for lunch when we lived in Derby, but now we live in Suffolk and do not get up to Derby as often as we would like due to family issues. We visited here after an 18 month gap and found the Cafe to still be as good as it always was. Friendly helpful staff and the only place we have ever been where they always have several choices of Gluten free cake for my partner. (every where else, starts off with good G/F cake and on the next visit they have none) We have never been disappointed here. Maybe we should consider retiring back to Derby? We had a very enjoyable lunch, thank you.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ THE HOLY GRAIL OF PASTIES! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I have eaten many pasties in my time. From questionable petrol station pastries to those fancy overpriced ones in artisan bakeries—but NOTHING compares to the glorious, life-changing, flaky masterpiece I just devoured from this cob shop. The moment I took my first bite, time slowed down. The layers of golden, buttery pastry shattered in the most satisfying way, releasing a heavenly aroma that could bring a tear to a grown man's eye. The filling? Oh. My. Days. A perfect balance of rich, savory goodness, hugging my taste buds like a warm embrace from Grandma on Christmas morning. I swear, if I was stranded on a desert island and could only bring one thing—it would be this pasty. I’d build a shrine in its honor before eventually succumbing to the overwhelming urge to eat it. If NASA is looking for fuel for their next space mission, they should look no further than the sheer power packed inside this pastry pocket of joy. Would I recommend this pasty? YES. A THOUSAND TIMES YES. If you haven’t tried one yet, stop what you’re doing, quit your job if necessary, and make your way to this cob shop immediately. You haven’t lived until you’ve had one. 💯/10. Would sell my soul for another. 😭👏🥐🔥

We have been coming to the Mundy arms for years since moving to the Derby area and We are all gutted to hear it's closing, especially since its the best we've know it in all the years we've been coming. The current staff are head and shoulders the best they've ever been. Service is exceptional, genuine friendly staff who aren't putting on faces, they are happy to be there and that is something that any pub would kill to have. We wish them all the best in the future. The only disappointing things is that we found out the pub was closing via email and Facebook the Friday 12th before they shut on the Sunday 14th. This seems very short notice for all involved. Thank you for everything Mundy Arms!

An unforgettable experience in the heart of the Peak District! We had an amazing meal at The Bear Inn — truly one of the highlights of our trip. The 16-hour braised ox cheek with red wine reduction was absolutely out of this world — tender, flavourful, and cooked to perfection. We also tried the fish and chips, which were beautifully crispy on the outside, flaky and fresh on the inside — classic done right! It's the kind of place where you instantly feel at home. Nestled in the stunning Peak District, it’s the ideal spot for a relaxing meal after a day of exploring. Highly recommend — we’ll definitely be coming back!

Visited today to book 19 people in for a November lunch. The Manager was not even interested. Said he would only book for 12, we would have to make 2 bookings and it would take too much time to serve us. Told him to forget it. How can they afford to turn away 19 people. Not worth patronising and won't bother again.
