We used to visit here regularly for lunch when we lived in Derby, but now we live in Suffolk and do not get up to Derby as often as we would like due to family issues. We visited here after an 18 month gap and found the Cafe to still be as good as it always was. Friendly helpful staff and the only place we have ever been where they always have several choices of Gluten free cake for my partner. (every where else, starts off with good G/F cake and on the next visit they have none) We have never been disappointed here. Maybe we should consider retiring back to Derby? We had a very enjoyable lunch, thank you.

Very popular tea room serving a good range of hot meals/sandwiches/cakes and drinks, nothing fancy just good hearty food. Find a table then order at the counter, even when busy service is efficient and quick.

As a family we came here for a lunch as we have many many times. We had 3x ploughman’s and a fish platter. The amount of cheese on the ploughman’s was so big that it produced a massive smile on the faces of myself & my son. All four of us were highly satisfied with our meals and had cake’s afterwards. Great garden centre for plants and flowers 🌺 too. The staff are all so pleasant and welcoming, place is clean & Tidy.

Out of the way unique spot, popular for a quiet relaxed meal. A large conservatory is spacious and decked with flowers most of the year. Simple fare but tasty and well presented.

Service was friendly and ok, but the table surface was sticky all over which post-covid is not good. Food quality was ok. Would possibly return if in the area but not make a special visit. Garden centre small and unimpressive.

Three of us called today whilst out on a cycle ride and we all felt the Tea Rooms were very well managed and Covid safe. Plenty of hand sanitizer and a safe layout of tables. And the most important bit nice coffee and cakes. Thanks to all the team.

Five of us popped in here for a cream tea today, certainly not the best I've had. Fairly sure the fruit scones are from Costco but the thing I have an issue with the most is that they are still serving Jam and cream in sealed individual SINGLE USE PLASTIC POTS. This seams so unnecessary when they could so easily pop a spoon of each accompaniment in ceramic washable and reusable pots. Come on Meynell Langley, think a little of the environment, you are a garden centre after all...ditch single use and go reusable!

Meynell Langley Nursery is a very special family run business. Their skill is to be seen everywhere and their knowledge vast. I count it a real treat to go and buy from the at prices less than "garden centres" whose central focus these days seem to be on giftware and not plants.

We stopped at the café on a cycling route with more than a dozen riders. The bikes were visible from the café but we had to use the ramp up to the entrance for stacking which proved logistically challenging. The food is great and service was very fast (with a prior warning we were coming). The café also has air conditioning which was well received on one of the hottest days of the summer. We would occasionally use this café again, but it wasn't the warmest of cycling welcomes we have received this year.

We frequently stop here when on cycle rides as there is room to put our bikes within view. There's limited seating outside but plenty of tables inside and in winter the woodburner makes it cosy. The choice of cakes is fabulous. The only disappointing meal I've had here was the quiche Lorraine which was surprisingly lacking in cheese and ham and therefore didn't really taste of much. Everything else has always been great.

First visit with daughter then a second visit with a friend a few days later. Both visits excellent. First meal, Tuna and Cheese panini with a lovely side salad and fantastic quality coleslaw. Second meal cheese and onion quiche with the same sides. Both meals were of excellent quality and not a bad price. Both days were also quite busy but service was surprisingly quick. Would highly recommend along with a visit to the plant sales.

This "vegetarian" garden centre cafe served up a mozzarella and tomato pannini with a piece of bacon. The waitress was most concerned and said they had a two section grill which was used for everything be it meat or vegetarian which didn't seem right, but as she was not kitchen staff it was difficult to comment. The manageress said it did not happen when she was in the kitchen.Basic hygiene keeps uncooked meat away from other items in the kitchen, so how is staff training managed in this establishment? A piece of bacon should in no way have appeared on a plate of vegetarian food.As a strict vegetarian I will never attempt to trust this establishment again, this went against all of my principles. They offered money back, which I refused, I did accept a much cheaper plant, the manageress did not seem to appreciate that some people choose not to eat meat and expect a "vegetarian" friendly establishment to understand the principles of keeping meat well away from their plates. It left me shocked and dubious about other food outlets.

Went for lunch at this very friendly tearoom and were pleasantly surprised. Staff were very helpful and obviously enjoyed there job. The lasagne and the cold beef salad was of a more than adequate proportion with a lovely fresh salad. The atmosphere was very pleasant and we will definitely be returning to this venue.

Our ladies group meet once per month and this month Meynall Gardens was chosen as our venue. The location is along narrow country roads which is very pretty in the warmer months and the café is right at the entrance of the garden centre. It is clean and set out in a very pretty format and the staff were very polite and helpful. The menu is very much light bites of sandwiches, Panini, quiche and salad with a huge array of deep filled sponges on the counter. If you are a cake person ..... this is the place for you. Table service is provided - you order and pay at the counter and the drinks and food are brought to you.If you are a party of more than 6 then you must make a reservation. The venue is really pretty and it was a very pleasant experience in this welcoming environment.

Like others have said, Meynell Langley Garden 'Centre' is a place to visit not only for stocking your garden but having a light salad lunch or tasty afternoon tea with homemade cakes! We love it as a basic but tasteful rustic eatery with nice salads and other snacks. Can get quite busy on sunny days.

We have been to Meynall Langley for several years & have always enjoyed our visit. The staff are passionate about plant keeping & will offer excellent horticultural advice. Their hanging baskets are particularly good. The tea rooms are beautiful & bright. They offer a variety of fresh, home baked cakes, including a good selection of gluten free options. A little off the beaten track, but well worth seeking out.

I love this place and have been a regular for quite a few years. The staff are fab and the food is good. But a new ordering system has been introduced which seems to include some anomalies eg filter coffee or cafetiere is 1.95 with cold milk but with hot milk is 2.25 ....and yet a latte (which has a lot of hot milk) is also 1.95. The charge of 30p to have hot instead of cold milk is a new introduction and something that I have not come across anywhere else (and I do go out for coffee a lot! ). When I asked the owner about it he was rather dismissive and said that the 30p charge was for the electricity it took to heat the milk! So just be aware ....

We often go here for a light Sunday Lunch. It is not a place for a hot meal, but primarily for a salad, a baked potato, or a Panini. Of its type it is simply excellent and I've been remiss by not writing a review before.

We called in here after looking around the garden centre, which in itself is worth a visit. The tea rooms are open from around 10 am until around 4pm. It's a roomy cafe with undercover outside eating. There is a substantial lunch menu together with snacks. We had lovely cake and cheese scone with tea. The gentleman behind the counter was very helpful and even carried the tray to our table. It's certainly worth a visit for cake and plants!

good home-made soup for £5. Nice sitting in the conservatory looking at the flowers outside. The conservatory windows open automatically, and can't be closed - so diners get wet if it rains, like it did today. The conservatory has been too hot on previous sunny days.

I have been here many many times and can't complain about it at all! Simple choices on the menu and only a few to choose from but for me that's good as too much choice can be overwhelming! Staff are usually friendly and service is usually good (there have been mistakes a few times when I have been but staff are always apologetic and keen to put things right) I will be continuing to visit here and will be bringing friends along to introduce them to this lovely tea room!

Stopped by for an afternoon tea and cake after visiting nearby Kedleston Hall. The cafe is lovely, very clean and the staff were very friendly. We enjoyed our cakes and the children loved their bowls of ice cream! The only downside was the tea wasn't strong enough for our taste, but that's a personal thing. We would definitely visit next time we're in the area.

I took my daughter this morning for a late breakfast, and whilst the ambience was lovely with the wood burners lit, the staff were a little frosty.Sadly, my daughter found a black hair in the salad garnish accomanying her Bacon & Brie pannini, she discretly took the offending hair on a serviette to the counter, and 10 minutes elapsed with no respinse, so we decided to leave, at which point a staff member stopped us. She had the serviette and hair in her hand, her opening gambit was...'it looks like a dog hair', 'are there any dogs in there'...yes there was a white haired one! She then proceeded to defend herself by saying 'the food was fresh that morning as she'd made it herself'.....no apology, in fact the attitude was that somehow it was our fault.I have eaten here before with no issue, but never again! My daughter was not looking for a replacement meal, or free drink, though the offer of the latter may have been a good gesture, meerly an acknowledgement that all was not well in thier kitchen.

Bright and airy tea rooms situated within the Meynell Langley Garden centre. Sat in the conservatory, what a great place to enjoy a drink and bite to eat especially with the fire on, welcoming and warm. Menu choice is quite small, which I like, sandwiches, salads, soup, jacket potatoes, paninis, home made cakes etc. Tea Rooms are well decorated, spotlessly clean and service from staff is quick, efficient and with a smile, which I like to see.

We have been coming to the Mundy arms for years since moving to the Derby area and We are all gutted to hear it's closing, especially since its the best we've know it in all the years we've been coming. The current staff are head and shoulders the best they've ever been. Service is exceptional, genuine friendly staff who aren't putting on faces, they are happy to be there and that is something that any pub would kill to have. We wish them all the best in the future. The only disappointing things is that we found out the pub was closing via email and Facebook the Friday 12th before they shut on the Sunday 14th. This seems very short notice for all involved. Thank you for everything Mundy Arms!

Had three nice meals last week but tonight was disappointing at best. Seemed like deep fried leftovers from Sunday. Put my fork into a pig in blanket and it shot across the room. Potatoes were like rocks and the cauliflower cheese was inedible, even after it was replaced. Did make a complaint at the bar just to get a “sorry ‘bout that!” We won't be calling again, sorry ‘bout that!
