Currently only open limited hours Thursday to Sunday, for outside tables or takeaways, but highly recommended and a lovely spot, especially as they've now opened up tables in the garden round the back. A good selection of cakes and hot & cold drinks and snacks, also breakfast cobs and more. we had an excellent bacon & egg cob and a fish finger sandwich this morning, and we always try to stop here on our walk round the park.

I visited today with my Dad and My dog. We’d planned to eat at the visitor centre but halfway around the walk we found this lovely little place. The staff were the friendliest I’ve ever experienced and were so lovely and accommodating! I had a bacon and hash brown cob which they were happy to do well done for me and my Dad had a tea and sausage roll. We also bought a couple of sausages for my dog and they kindly cut them up for her without us having to ask! Lovely scenic place to eat, dog and covid friendly and the prices were extremely reasonable for a wide range of food and drink items. Definitely will be visiting again and thankyou to the lovely lady who served us!

This was my second visit since lockdown. My daughter and partner also enjoy it here too. Eating outside away from the courtyard was fine and I felt COVID safe throughout. The young lady at the serving hatch was very friendly and efficient. The wait was only 10 minutes for my bacon, mushroom and egg cob (which was huge and very soft) I also had the rich fruit cake and it was the best and so moist. The previous comments about the poor coffee aren’t necessary, just critical. I always take a flask with me on country walks so I always enjoy my coffee! Well done Derby Lodge and all who work there.

Had a fantastic recharge stop on my soggy doggy walk! Delicious coffee and a scrumptious sausage and egg cob. Staff were brilliant, efficient and friendly. All Covid safe and clearly marked safe order / collection point. Lovely knowing you're supporting a community interest company instead of one of those coffee shops who don't pay taxes! Can't wait for next time! Thank you to all the staff.

We were recommended to try the scones at Derby Lodge Tearooms, so we visited today. We completely agree with the review left by Mk1MX5ERS on Oct 2nd 2020. If you are a coffee lover do not come here! We had 2 cappuccinos but they were VILE - hot and wet, but no coffee aroma, and a very unpleasant taste. You wouldn’t know it was supposed to be coffee! We discarded most of it. Also they had run out of scones, so all in all it was a disappointing experience. Sad, because it’s in a lovely location and the staff seemed very pleasant.

Out on a walk around Shipley Park,my partner & l,decided to have a cob & a coffee. The cob was fine, but the latte coffee was horrible.Tasted like powdered packet stuff☹️Don't know if this is normally served as a latte, but with so many places serving nice, proper machine made lattes, this was not a pleasant experience..

We are regular walkers in Shipley park. The tea room is open for takeaway currently due to the pandemic. They have good systems in place for social distancing, minimum contact etc.We had a cold drink and a raspberry and vanilla scone with jam and clotted cream. I can honestly say it was the loveliest, tastiest moistest scones I'd ever had. Super value and a good size too.Recommend a visit.

First the positive. Lovely friendly staff. The cakes looked nice although I didn't try one on this occasion. Unfortunately I chose to have a cappuccino which left an unpleasant after taste. Not sure what milk is in the machine but it spoilt it for me. And I'm sorry to say my teacake was burnt on one side. Perhaps I should have taken it back. Never the less I will return and maybe have tea and one of the lovely cakes. Our first visit and so wanted to give 5 stars. Maybe next time. ☺

Yesterday was our 2nd visit since the cafe reopened two weeks ago. They now open at 0830 which is great for dog walkers . I visited with my Mum . I had cheese on toast and she had a bacon and mushroom cob. Both were excellent. It is so nice to be able to get a decent cheese on toast again. The staff are very friendly and obliging. Will definitely be making this a regular stop.

I loved the cafe new decor etc used to visit a lot when it was open before and never thought it was expensive but now it is you get 5 breakfast items for £5.95 and I mean if you ask for bacon you get 1 slice of bacon and breakfast comes on a big plate so the 5 items look a bit lost. You have to pay extra for toast and a drink and they should do cheap children’s meals including a drink. I always used to visit here before because it was always cheaper than visitors centre but I am now going to go back to visitors centre. But so glad it’s opened again

Out dog walking in Shipley park today and discovered Derby Lodge tea rooms has opened again after a closure of some months. It has been updated and beautifully decorated, delighted. We enjoyed a lovely pot of tea, other customers were tucking into chocolate cakes, cheese on toast and sausage cobs all of which looked delicious. Dog friendly and very welcoming staff, will return for sure.

It is a tragedy that this wonderful place had to close. Open fires, super - dog friendly, lovely friendly staff AND fried egg and bacon cobs. My dog and I have lost our most favourite place to go. The lovely staff have lost their work. And even more tragically, this cafe employs disabled staff. Please somebody explain why it has closed and what can we do to reopen it? Such a loss

Grade Two old lodge house to the former Shipley Hall. A welcoming stopover for a drink and buttie whilst walking in Shipley Park. From the outside you would not know it was a tearoom but the inside is cosy and providing warmth and comfort both in the height of summer for a bit of shade and in winter for a warm in front of the open fire. Welcomes dogs and well behaved owners. Food is all home cooked, very appetising and great value served by friendly staff. A valuable asset to the Park.

I guess we didn't choose a good day to visit! It was busy and there were only two members of staff there, but there were spaces to sit. I ordered a sausage roll for my young son and was told they were in the oven, so there'd be a little wait. Half an hour later and after lots of people who ordered after us all got their sausage rolls, my son and his friend went up to enquire about where it was. It arrived a minute later and was cold. He didn't need it to be warm anyway, but I had to wonder why on earth it took so long?!

Ideal place to call after a walk. Very reasonably priced and served by exceptionally friendly staff. Most importantly they love your dogs. Called at the Lodge Tearooms for some refreshment. The time was 2pm and noted that the tearooms were open until 3.30pm. The interior was dark and not very inviting and outside were 3 picnic benches. On entry asked for tea for 2 and 2 toasted teacakes only to be told that there was no hot food. Presumably, toasted items were classed as hot food. Then told that there were none left. None of the staff were wearing hairnets, hats or any kitchen hygiene protection. Will not be visiting again.

This is a great place to come for a nice cup of tea/coffee and a slice of cake. There is even a room where you can take your dogs and they even have a jar of God treats on the mantelpiece of a gorgeous open fire that is often lit on cold days. This room also features work from local artists. We love coming here as it is run by an association that enables adults with learning difficulties to work. They are local people and it is all overseen by very capable staff.
