Although this a very nice cafe I must comment on allowing dogs onto seats and benches and even some customers letter by their dogs eat off the table. This is very unhygienic ant the owners don’t seemed bothered can’t see how they get such a high hygiene rating

Have visited before but not for a long time. Glad to see it is still as lovely as we remembered. Visited with the kids this time during a walk. Very glad we did. Greeted with a smile, always a good start. Small but perfectly formed menu boasts an array of fabulously tempting homemade cake, pastries and scones plus snacks and very good coffee. Service was swift and efficient, everything very good particularly the raspberry scones. Sit back, watch the birds on the feeders in the nearby garden, eat cake and relax. Lovely place to be.

Superb service, interesting location, indoors and outdoor seating, and lovely coffee and snacks. Only open three days a week when we went, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. No vehicular access, but very popular with walkers in Shipley Park. Shown to table on arrival, you order at the counter and your order is brought to your table. We had coffees and a lovely fresh raspberry scone with jam and clotted cream. Will definitely visit again, good value, lovely ambience and friendly staff

I.ove this coffee shop. The staff are friendly and well trained. The food is always piping hot and fresh, the cakes are beautiful. To look at and taste wonderful(don't tell the doctor) but the best thing about it is everyone has to get there under their own steam no cars or motorcycles(unless you count police motorcycles). Its a family run coffee shop and was hand built by dad plus some mates.

There’s a few options for morning or afternoon tea, or a light lunch, while you are spending time in Shipley Country Park. The Nutbrook Coffee Shop is by far the most pleasant of them all, and certainly serves the best coffee of them all. It’s set in picturesque surroundings. As well as a contemporary inside dining area, it has two outdoor seating areas: one is under a marquee in the garden of the cafe, and the other is across the road in front of the cafe, with suitably spaced picnic tables under huge umbrellas. On the beautiful day we visited, the outside areas were extremely busy. The cafe is just beyond the south-eastern edge of Shipley Country Park, and is a good 30 minute walk from the park’s visitor centre. It’s a bit closer from the village of Mapperley, and is a 20 minute walk along the pretty Slack Road. However, the cafe attracts a lot of walkers and cyclists, not just from Shipley Country Park but because it’s on the popular car-free Nutbrook Trail between Long Eaton and Heanor. We called in for morning tea. There were very precise social distancing measures in place; we were assigned a table, then observed a one way system to order, with food and drinks being delivered to your assigned table. It was civilised and appreciated. We had morning tea at the coffee shop. The freshly-brewed double espresso and the flat white were outstanding. The cafe actually sells a range of packs of coffee beans so it’s apparent that decent coffee beans are sourced. This was accompanied by huge freshly-baked scones. What a selection to choose from: plain, fruit, raspberry and cheese. We chose the raspberry scones. Served with jam and clotted cream, they were outstanding. The menu for a light lunch is quite comprehensive, with a wide range of soups, sandwiches, paninis, jacket potatoes, sausage rolls and pasties. Service was charming and obliging, and we felt welcomed. It’s dog friendly (we had a dog with us), but it’s expected that you keep your pooch calm and settled. The coffee shop is worth seeking out. It’s a little gem, and it’s popularity confirms that!

I use to come to this place every week with my Mum and spend up to £25 every week. So quite a bit of money. The food and drinks are pricy but the food was nice and at the time good quality. I eventually stopped coming because my mum complained about some tuna and basically they tried it and said it fine. Not good customer service and they didn’t refund the money. Not that I wanted them too but a free cuppa would of been nice. The attitude is not worth spending my money on that I work hard for so now go to the other cafe. It’s a shame as I enjoyed coming but will only come if need be.

We always visit as a halfway point on our dog walk through Shipley park. This was our first visit since lockdown and we were very impressed. There is a one way system around the cafe and you are given a table at the gate. Tables are well spaced out and even on the grass over from the cafe. Table service brilliant you order from the cafe and they bring it out to you. We had two afternoon teas For £4.95 each and the scones were delicious. Tea is premium loose leaf and Devine. Overall felt very safe and will be returning again to support a fantastic local business.

Visited this hidden gem along the Nutbrook Trail on a busy Friday morning. Extremely well organised to ensure Covid safety of customers and staff. Plenty of cleaning seen, masks and/or visors worn, 2m queuing system strictly applied, tables and chairs all sanitised, good one way system. I live very close by to this coffee shop! It’s it very quaint, beautiful and relaxing scenery with happy, friendly local dog walkers! My experience of the coffee shop was actually spoilt by a senior female staff member which in fact is the owner of the premises. Her attitude came across very annoyed and abrupt when I wanted to pay for two coffees on card and was unaware of the £10 minimum spend on card. I asked my boyfriend if he wanted some food to make the £6 payment upto £10 to allow me to make a card payment instead of cash (as we didn’t have any cash in us). The woman seemed really annoyed at us for this but I rarely carry cash now days with Apple Pay and contactless being my “go to” payments methods. The woman did let me off but with the £6.00 payment but made a very abrupt point of saying this will not be authorised again in a event of a future purchase of coffees there! I am sadden by this as i was really looking forward to trying out this coffee shop and I have also since read other customers have encounter a similar experience with this senior female members of staff/owner. Recommend the caramel lattes though! It was lush! But be sure to take cash or be aware of the £10 minimum card spend else you may be faced with abit of attitude.

Well we're do I start on this one a very rude staff team a very expensive place especially for walkers not liking to carry cash a £10 spend limit on the card. Absolutely ridiculous if you're a lone walker like me most of the time.As for dog friendly on two occasions I have been spoken to about my dog as if they didn't want it there. The first was when the lead slipped my hand and my dog wondered away from the table. Bear in mind there was no one else in the area. A very rude lady no please or thank you came out and told me to get my dog on the lead and not to let it run about. The next time different friends one of my friends has a very clingy pup she needed the loo so had to go and as always the pup started to cry for her a natural thing for puppies to do. The owner of the place came out quiet angry telling us to shut it up. We explained why it was h but he was having non of it and was very unsympathetic to the situation. If you don't like dogs don't have a dog friendly or learn to understand how some are. A few of the other people around were disgusted with his reaction and told us they are only there as the lodge they usually frequent is closed but won't be using that establishment once it reopens

Its a lovely coffee shop and always popular. However i must say i think £10 minimum spend to pay on card is steep and as there's nowhere nearby to get cash it forces you top spend more than you might otherwise. The person in front of me was allowed to put £7 on their card but i wasn't allowed to put £5 which seemed a bit fair. The lady serving wasn't very friendly either, but is know to be a bit like that!

Situated perfectly like the end of a rainbow after a long walk. While everything about this place is superb, the overall ethos is lacking. we have been on several different occasions, and the difference between coming solely with my wife and coming with the children is absurd. On this particular occasion, while with the children, from the moment we walked in, we were made to feel unwelcome. Understood is the request for tranquility, however, there is no excuse for such distain to be shown towards a young family prior to taking a seat. While eating, we felt as though every move of the children was being watched, and that we ourselves were being watched. Beautiful place, with beautiful food and drink. If only the sight of children brought the same smile to the staff as it did to many of the customers.

I really look forward to spending time at this beautiful coffee shop.the owners and staff are fabulous so friendly and welcoming. I love sitting in the garden watching the birds chatting to other visitors everyone seems to be in a good mood when they walk through the gates and this is because everyone is made to feel so special and the coffee and food is excellent too!!

Had wanted to visit for some time so went with a friend, her two children (7 and 3) and my two (4 and 2). My friend is a regular user and has used the cafe often since opening day (where she waited patiently over an hr for a drink and a slice of cake).

After starting at shipley car park and getting lost in the park we eventually found the cafe at the start of the Nutbrook Cycle trail. The coffee is very good, and the service pleasant and quick. There was a lot of people meeting for drinks etc or stopping with the cycles. Nice building and surroundinds.

I went here for lunch with my family after walking a little Boston terrier. I had a ham and cheese panini which was tasty, accompanied by a smattering of crisps and a salad (including a coleslaw with a hint of garlic). We also had creamy chicken soup, which gave the trusted Heinz a run for their money, accompanied by yummy slices of bread, along with a couple of fresh scones (one fruit and one cheese) accompanied by either clotted cream or butter, which needless to say went down a treat! To wash it all down we had fresh leaf tea which was beautifully presented and was full bodied.

This is a little oasis whilst walking and enjoying the parkland, nature and trails. There is a selection of places to sit dependent upon the weather ranging from outdoors by the trail, outdoors in the back garden area or indoors. The menu is limited but what is served is done well. Everyone is welcome and can bring their children and well behaved dogs. There is even an innovative bike rack in keeping with the natural surroundings.

My wife, dog and I called in on a recent walk. Though you can't take dogs inside, quite understandably as there were several children there (all well behaved which makes a change), there is plenty of room in the courtyard. And, there is also plenty of shelter, too, in case it rains.

Been here a few times and it's really really nice. Very tasteful outdoor area nice inside too, and situated in a gorgeous part of the Park on the Nutbrook Trail. So good in fact it's getting a bit too popular and can be very difficult to find a seat inside or outside on a sunny day. The food is good, not cheap though. The drinks are great and all the staff are lovely. Loo's nice and clean. Water bowls for dogs in abundance, places to park your bike, blankets to keep you warm if sat outside, undercover outside seating. They've thought of everything!

We visited on a Saturday Lunchtime and left slightly disappointed. There weren't many specials as we thought there would be main meals. We had crumpets which were nice. They also didn't have soya milk which meant I couldn't try a iced coffee. Nice interior inside would try again.

This has to be one of the friendliest coffee shops you will ever visit. It is on the side of a renovated farmhouse that the owners have sympathetically restored. They have made the venue such a beautiful place to be. It has opened up the other side of Shipley park to those who like to have a walk punctuated by a sit down and a coffee. We have spent many Sunday mornings walking to the coffee shop just to see what they are doing next with the place. Great to see a small business go from strength to strength. Best bacon butties ever!

The food is excellent and so are the staff. It is a very friendly country style cafe with a homely feel. Their breakfasts are fab. So are their dinners and a great choice of deserts. Their pies are fab nice and meaty with no fat. Served with whatever you want. However, with their special potatoes & peas they are lovely. There is a great choice of food and it is all home made. Claire and family who run it are so nice and they are very attentive and helpful. We call it our local and we would not go anywhere else. Well done to all the staff.

I called by for a quick breakfast sandwich takeaway before work. I wanted to spend at a local independent business and try somewhere new. I wish I hadn’t picked here… I ordered a sausage sandwich for £3 and chucked it straight in the bin after one bite. Chewy microwaved pre-cooked sausages on cheap white bread with a measly bit of ketchup. I wouldn’t even pay 50p for that. The owners should be ashamed of this… if this is the usual standard of food I’d expect them to be closed down soon.

I would like to say a huge thank you for helping me yesterday when I fell over opposite your cafe. The staff, especially Hayley, were amazing and so kind helping me into the cafe and providing an ice pack and drink of water. They allowed me to sit there as long as I wanted. By the way the coffee and cakes they serve are amazing! Thank you so much.
