On Goodramgate near Monk Bar. Very compact but fabulous place. Amazing cakes! Spoiled for choice! And great coffee. Staff are really friendly. I thought the tall young girl must know everybody and that they were locals but no! She is just super friendly! One flat white, one latte and two generous pie es of coffee cake, beautifully presented, came to Ā£17. Can't complain at that! Check website for opening days. Doesn't open every day. Yes I would recommend it. Yes I would go again.

What a gem! The service was nothing but great! Really friendly and welcoming. My partner and I had full breakfasts which were really nice. While waiting the waiter popped over to show off a freshly baked quiche. Couldn't resist and ordered a sliced to go. Once ready to pay we have spotted all the lovely cakes on display. Couldn't resist either and got couple to t/a. Amazing!!! Lemon drizzle š I would love an option for hash brown with my breakfast, but that's because on top of cakes I love potatoes ;) Hash browns or not its a must visit when around Ambleside!!! Also coffee is yum!

After giving nora cafe a huge 5/5 last time, we crossed over london to go for brekky again. It was still a ok breakfast, but it just seemed a little rushed this time.. get you in, fed, paid and out for the next ones to seat, as soon as we picked the toast up off the side plate, the plate was taken. As a person who doesnt like people emptying tables whilst people are eating this annoyed me The portion sizes werent as good as before, the brekky was good. But just didnt hit like last time. Please dont lose what you had by rushing folk in and out

Have supported this venue for a number of years and have spent countless evenings at family dinners, catching up with friends and have attended cosmic sessions. I cannot support this venue anymore due to a number of ethical concerns with how the owners treat their staff. Staff have contracts withheld, are denied sick pay and are bullied in what seems to be a toxic environment with a revolving door of staff. One staff member was harassed while off due to burns stating hand washing was not necessary to perform the role of food service, which raises questions as to their hygeine practices. Avoid.

Busy cafe with lovely cosy atmosphere. Managed to get a seat inside within 5 minutes. Aiden was very welcoming and efficient. Food was lovely and good quality. Cakes looked delicious but didn't try. Coffee is amazing if that's all you need. Enjoy

Whenever I come to the peak district to visit my Dad, a trip to the Barley Mow is an absolute necessity. This unique and marvellous place has more personality and warmth than any pub I know. Food is great, beer is well kept, cider selection is off the hook. The decoration and posters on the walls sing both of the histories the Barley Mow preserves and of the communities it so ably serves. Most highly recommended.
