Rita's Diner in Arun

Somewhat smaller than the photograph suggests. Probably a bit cramped when full. Four of us had breakfast which was excellent, freshly cooked where possible, finally found someone who can do a runny egg, all of us were impressed and said we would return. I had the American breakfast, jumbo sausage, fried egg, hash browns, bacon, pancakes and maple syrup, with a slice of toast and butter, excellent value at £6.50 plus two teas. I don’t mind the tea bag being left in so I can choose the strength but others might. One colleague had poached eggs on toast the other two a standard breakfast fry up which they said was good. The only problem is that are moving in a weeks time across the river to a busier area. If they continue the high standards there they should do well. Unfortunately as in their current location parking will still not be easy. The current place is very clean and nicely presented, the staff were friendly and helpful, we will definitely give the new location a try.

Stumbled across this cafe on a walk to west beach, from the outside I wasn’t sure about it but once we were in I loved it. Staff were lovely and attentive, venue was clean and interesting and we had a fab breakfast - solid vegetarian option for me which is always a winner and a huge meaty breakfast for husband! Such good value and would definitely be back!

We first found this place a few years ago and were pleasantly surprised to find such a funky, fun cafe hidden in a row of rather unprepossessing buildings. It's like going back in time, with lots of USA 50s memorabilia and juke box playing toe-tapping classic tunes (but not so loud you can't hear yourself speak, unlike other places). It's nice & clean with friendly staff & a good selection on a very reasonably priced menu. We were back a couple of weeks ago, and going again tomorrow so that hubby can try their fantastic American pancakes with bacon & syrup before they relocate to the main part of town. We wish them all the luck with that move and are sure they'll be a roaring success. We also wish we had a place like it where we live. Maybe it's time to think about expanding further...? 😄

Lovely milkshakes. No problem with swapping items on the set breakfast. Perfect service. Very good value. Comfortable booth seating. Definitely recommend.

Bad Experience! I walked in for breakfast, first time for a year or 2. I waited for 5 minutes, standing at counter patiently but oblivious to staff. I eventually got a menu and was told to sit at a small table very close to other breakfast diners, which I did not want. Therefore, I sat on a larger table, away from the other diners (the place was all but empty). Almost immediately after I sat down to read the menu, I was ordered away from the table I had sat at and told to sit at a smaller table as I was alone. I did not want to sit in very close proximity to strangers, but I complied at first but then decided to leave before ordering. Completely unprofessional woman and service. I carried on walking and eventually had breakfast at 'West Beach Cafe!

Had the full English breakfast. Service was very good considering they were training new staff and asked people to be patient. Food was excellent I have to say, the wife had the same as me and loved it, The milkshake she had was delicious apparently and I had a pot of tea for one. Could have put a bit more hot water in it but only an observation. Can’t fault it really. Lovely decor and atmosphere and well cooked food, we will definitely go back….. Highly recommend to anyone checking trip advisor to see if it’s worth going to. Well done to the team.

Our First visit what a find, fantastic food and service. I would recommend if you visit Littlehampton you are missing out if you do not pop in and try something off of the menu if you ask me.

Excellent breakfast at a good price. Nice toast with butter. Friendly helpful staff. I look forward to trying a loaded hot dog.

Although members of my family had been before this was my first visit. Friendly staff and the breakfast was very nice. Reasonable price too. Will definitely go again. My son and husband have also had the breakfast baguette on many occasions and love it.

Fab find, small menu, but what we had was very nice plus Prosecco was on the menu (always acceptable) the amenities were very clean with photos all over the walls! The American juke box & telephone looked brilliant, the American one armed bandit looked good also. The owners were very welcoming & helpful. Prices were affordable fir what we had.

Fantastic food and service. They found room for our group at very short notice on a busy sunny day. Went out of their way to ensure we could park right outside as no blue badge parking nearby. Nice diner decor with lots of lovely photos from the 50s & 60s. We had a variety of the breakfasts - all excellent with delicious milkshakes. Despite being full after this, some of us could not resist the desserts. These were amazing - the lightest waffles & delicious sundaes packed with fresh fruit 🍓🍇🍊🍒 Fabulous experience all round.

Another amazing family visit to Rita's Diner. This time it was for 10 family members 4 young children and 6 adults, celebrating my fathers 84th birthday. Not only was the food and service amazing, we had a brilliant time. Rita's had put up a banner and balloons, to make our visit even more special. Thank you to Rita's and all the wonderful staff, for making our visit and my father's birthday such a wonderful occasion.

We visited Rita’s Diner yesterday morning for a family breakfast. The decor and atmosphere are brilliant. Service was friendly and the perfect balance of making sure we were okay, but not being overbearing. The breakfasts were fantastic; two veggies, one full American and a baby. All were tasty with good ingredients and my dad commented that the full American was better value than a cooked breakfast he’d recently had at the Lobster Pot in Felpham. We tried the two special shakes in honour of Grease - one ‘Sandy’ and one ‘Rizzo’, both were a lovely treat with sweets/fruit on a skewer on the side and everything - very nice indeed! We will definitely be back for more!

Hidden gem just before West Beach in Littlehampton. We walked past it to get to the cafe at West Beach only to find a limited breakfast menu. So we walked back and was pleasantly surprised at the standard and quality of the food here. We had an American breakfast which includes pancakes and an English. Both were delicious and healthy as possible,, medallions of bacon so no fat, not swimming in grease. Service with a smile and very helpful. We will be back.
