Crump's Coffee Shop & Cafe in Wiltshire

Been meaning to write this for ages. ‘The butchers mate is in my opinion the best cafe in Bassett! The food is beautiful and top quality but more than anything it’s the people that work there that so obviously care about what they do that makes it. I first started going 2.5 years ago when I had just moved to bassett. I had a 3 year old and a new born and we were just coming out of lockdown. For any new mum the chance to have a cup of coffee in peace without feeling you and your kids are in the way, causing distraction or generally be a pain is a god send. The people at the butchers mate always made me feel welcome - took the time to interact with my kids and never judged when I would inevitably have two screaming kids, tantrums or a just a normal crying baby! My kids now know and love the cafe and lovingly call it the ‘beans on toast shop’. It’s great and I am very grateful! Massive shout out to Claire and the team. Xxx

Fabulous Sunday roast!! Brekkie and lunch favourite location but now offering Sunday lunch!! AND they know how to cook a wonderful roast potato and Yorkshire pudding (oh so many can't!!) Wonderful lunch out, same tremendous atmosphere with just even more schamazing food and staff!! Thanks to all - top favourite famalam destination for us.

Amazingly lovely, friendly, kind & helpful staff greet you with a fabulous warm welcome. My breakfast was fabulous, best cooked breakfast I’ve ever had. The cafe is always spotlessly clean and the food arrives quickly, with first class taste. The menu has a varied selection of food & drink; something for everyone! Prices are very reasonable indeed.

This place never disappoints always lovely polite staff,quick efficient service, spotlessly clean always particular at wiping tables down. Fabulous menu,today my favourite again liver bacon onions mash and peas beans carrots,beans a bit el dente.my husband had sausage hash brown sandwich,all beautifully cooked more choice for pud but couldn't manage any. A place to go if hungry and in the Wooten bassett area u won't be disappointed 10/10

Had the full English, the key to a great fry up is quality sausages and thick sliced bacon, both of these boxes ticked here. They’re always really busy so ensure you book to avoid disappointment but once in you will not be disappointed but the food, fantastic.

Saturday morning family treat to visit the Butcher’s Mate for breakfast. Superb meat as you would expect but what made it was the friendly, helpful service- all the staff couldn’t do enough to look after us. Black pudding was excellent, bacon nice and thick slices and the sausages some of the best anywhere. Good coffee, … what more could you ask?

The service was so slow. We waited 50 mins for a cauliflower cheese and a jacket potato. Well half a small jacket potato. Very small serving. The cauliflower was rock hard even though we waited so long. The staff were sullen and not polite. Won't be going again.

First time visit and had a bacon & sausage bap for £4.50 which was excellent. Coffees were also excellent as was the service despite then being busy - a queue always present. Very well-recommended !

Excellent Sunday Lunch, good choice, ample portion, nice friendly service and a reasonable price. We just managed to get a table without booking, so booking is advisable.

I’ve formed a habit. Stop at the Butcher’s Mate en route back from Swindon and spoil myself with the magnificent all day breakfast. I am not sure there is anywhere else in Wiktshire that can provide not just a sumptuous breakfast, but also include a pot of tea (2 cups) for the princely sun of £11.50. Yes, I will be back.

I bring my elderly dad to The Butcher’s Mate just because the staff are so kind and caring, nothing is ever too much trouble and we are always greeted with a smiley hello - oh and the food is super good too!

The staff are all most welcoming and friendly. I always enjoy my Americano coffee and the range of food offered. I particularly enjoy The main dish of Liver, potatoes and Veg. We will return to The Butchers Mate again soon.

Well Crumps the butchers is where I get my fillet mignon, the restaurant serves up a wonderful full English with all the trimmings and fantastic value for money, a wonderul staff on hand enable this to be a very cosy and wonderful experience

Saturday 26 July 2020.After checking their website to see if they were open, we were assured that they were.Got there early to find a hand written sign inside of the entrance door advising that they are closed until further notice.I know that businesses have struggled during the pandemic but it's been hard for us customers too.We drove a thirty mile round trip for our eagerly awaited breakfast only to be misled and disappointed.Cooked a brekkie at home.Probably won't make the effort to visit again.

We called here for a business lunch. There is plenty of parking in the High St and the cafe is centrally located. There is a good menu with a nice range of options and prices are reasonable. Portion sizes were good and service was both quick and friendly. The tables were decently spread out so it was pleasantly quiet and discreet. A very pleasant lunch.

Excellent breakfast. Sausage fabulous. Service exceptional. Good value. Well worth the price for basic breakfast including toast and coffee. Would certainly recommend crumps. You can also get meat used next door at butchers.

Had to go to Bassett so decided to pop in and sample the lunch menu having had great breakfasts previously. I ordered the small liver and mash,my wife had the faggot meal. Not expecting a large meal I was surprised to be served an amble meal. At £6 a head it was great value. The liver was just like mum used to make back in the 60's, tasty and delicious. The faggot meal was just as tasty as we sampled each other's meal. Going to try the ham egg chips and the burger next visit. Well done crumps.

Unusually I called in by myself for a much needed lunch. As usual I was greeted cheerfully by The Ladies who serve at Crumps. I ordered the small breakfast that included a drink in the price of £7. Fried egg, bacon, sausage, baked beans, tomato and hash brown. Toast and butter provided. A well cooked and presented meal that I thoroughly enjoyed. A Good value meal that included my Americano coffee. I most certainly will continue to call in at Crumps for breakfasts and lunches. My thanks to the staff.

Had brunch there today. Busy. Not exactly the Savoy :). But the service was good bering in mind they were busy. The breakfast was superb, best i have had for a very long time and quite difficult to fault. Good value for money given the quality and the quantity plenty.

Have walked past on numerous occasions, there's always people eating. Finally stopped in for a snack and was so glad I did.I had the best bacon roll I have had in years!! Generous portion of well cooked bacon, the fat was crispy. To make it stand above all others was the roll was warmed and lightly toasted. Will be back and bring friends.

Great, tasty and filling breakfast. I had the big breakfast whilst my mate had the slightly smaller one and we both devoured it as it was so good.Great service from the young ladies who were very customer orientated.We will definitely return if in Bassett again.

Beautifully cooked breakfast and excellent coffee. The only downside was the Bassett Banger which we thought lacked flavour. A choice of sausages would make this perfect. This is the only reason we have given it 4 stars.

We drop in to the Cafe regularly with the children and have never had a bad experience. Staff always friendly and attentive. Food is excellent with high quality ingredients mostly from their butchers next door and portions very generous.

My wife and I recently treated ourselves to a Crumps breakfast, the service was good and it goes without saying that the ingredients were spot on, it’s not too pricey and we will certainly enjoy further visits.

Lovely relaxing atmosphere, friendly staff. Asked for a Macchiato & Vicki the Barista made her first one for me & it was excellent. Breakfast also highly recommended. We’ll definitely be making this a regular coffee stop.

A spin off from the excellent Crump butchers next door, the overall dining experience here is first class. It can get busy at certain times and you may have to wait for a table. We had as usual the regular breakfast which was tasty and hot with obviously quality ingredients. You order on the way in but probably best to find a table first. The hot drinks are quite large by the way. Wheelchair access no problem and we were able to then fold up and put in corridor without obstructing anyone.The regular breakfast costs £6.50, the large one £9.50.

Visiting the highstreet in Bassett, stopped off at the fairly new Crump's Coffee Shop & Café - next door to the butchers of the same family that we've been visiting for years.

Love this place! Great food, great service, great prices and always so clean. A super menu at anytime of day and I feel comfortable if I’m on my own! Definitely worth a visit, it’s a regular for me!

Excellent food, caters for meat eaters (apparently the meat is delicious) does a pretty good veggie breakfast, so all my family sorted. Hot chocolate excellent, soya latte hit the spot.

Have visited Crumps cafe since it opened and their £6.50 breakfast includes toast and drink is as good as it gets. If you have a big appetite there is always the brunch. Does a whole range of foods all top class and well presented and the staff are very attentive and friendly.

We went to crumps's for my daughters birthday, as she wanted breaksfast out. Amazing breakfast freshly made, a great service given we all enjoyed it. The kids breaksfast was good value.

Use this place regularly whilst doing a shop in the adjoining butchers, as mentioned the breakfasts are great, but try some of the other meals too. The Liver and Bacon is fantastic as are the sausage and mash with onion gravey. On this visit I had the butterflied chicken breast served with chips and a choice of salad or mushrooms grilled tomatoes and peas. There were also 3 sauces to choose from, I went with the Stilton and did not regret it. All in all a great cafe, that showcases the food sold next door.

We have several cafes in Royal Wootton Bassett but this one is quite unique. It's next to it's own butchery which means any meat product is fresh and on hand. They serve a great menu of light lunches and more substantial meals for the very hungry. Breakfast is served from 7am and they also have a lovely selection of cakes, ice creams and shakes. Whatever you fancy, this lovely cafe will have it all!

Popped in for a quick coffee, saw the breakfast being delivered to another table and had no choice but to stay and enjoy one for myself! Fantastic shall be returning.

Next door to the butchers operated also by Crumps, this restaurant was really busy on a Saturday morning. Long narrow building well designed this restaurant is particularly known for its variety of breakfasts. I had a bacon bap at £3.20 which was huge and tasty. Paninis at £4.95 are also good value. Hot drinks sizes are big here and when you leave you can then visit the excellent butchers next door for cook at home! Friendly service and at the time of our visit (c.1200) there was a small queue developing.

A lovely addition to Royal Wootton Bassett High Street and owned by the award winning butchers next door. Good variety of breakfast choices. My bacon roll was lovely and arrived quickly. Very comfortable surroundings with some lovely artwork on the walls.

Fairly recently opened and next to retail butchers of same name. Long "thin" building cleverly organised. Really fast service and everything feels fresh and clean. We opted for the renowned breakfast and although various options were available we all had the regular breakfast accompanied by a really large cup of nice coffee. Reasonably priced as well.

Called in the Butchers next door and fancied a cup of tea , the Cafe is very long inside bigger than it looks from the outside . I ordered a tea (£1.60 ) and sat down as it is delivered to your table .Nice pot of tea and nice clean surroundings . I studied the food menu and will definitely be back soon .

I loved the Steak and Ale pie with mash ad fresh veg, was not able to quite finish it. This is great value combined with excellent quality, plenty of steak in the pie.

The food is fantastic! Attached to the butchers next door, they obviously use their own meat products, which is fabulous. Staff are friendly. The gravy they have with the liver is to die for! Gets a little busy, but we'll worth a visit!

Located on The High Street in RWB this Coffee Shop is alongside Crumps Butchers. Easy to find with parking either on the street or in a couple of local car parks that are within walking distance.

The most fabulous breakfast, full English with lovely meat from the Butchers next door. Very accommodating for dietary requirements. Would recommend highly for friends as well as business. Have had a few meetings there and worked very well.

Fab, breakfast, excellent quality sausage, bacon,etc. Arrived piping hot and quickly, staff friendly and well presented. Only negative but that’s my personal preference fresh grilled tomatoes would be nicer which would go better than tinned with all the other high quality locally sourced ingredients.

On first day in RWB we ate there and all was great but next two visits where really disappointing, ok it was 7.45am but if it’s open then serve fresh cooked food. On both occasions the food was re-heated I guess from the previous day or at least hope so. We complained about this on last visit and had fresh breakfasts cooked.

Best breakfast in Royal Wootton Bassett. Fresh food, quick service and great coffee. Order at the counter. The menu offer breakfast favourites plus main meals such as a burger menu.

Second visit to Crumps cafe. Both times served with delicious freshly cooked food.Lovely friendly staff. Clean light and airy place. Cannot fault it. Worth the trip out of Swindon any day.

We have been a few times now, had breakfast, bunch and the Christmas dinner. Service is great and lovely food.

I have enjoyed my visits with friends so much that on Saturday I brought my husband here for lunch. I had brunch, as I always enjoy it, and he opted for the steak and stilton pie. My breakfast was very good, although the bacon did taste overly salty on this occasion. My husband was disappointed to find that the pie was actually just a pastry lid instead of a full case, but the amount of tasty, tender meat and stilton more than made up for it. It was served with a very generous helping of mash and green veg. Although it was a busy Saturday lunchtime, we still didn't have to wait too long for our food to come out. We're looking forward to our next visit already.

Had a really great breakfast today, good quality sausage and bacon, proper Heinz beans and ketchup (or at least tasted Heinz), hash brown, fried runny egg cooked perfectly and a slice of tiger loaf toast served with a pot of tea or cup of coffee. Will be returning!!!

Visited for the first time today as a group.I had chicken pie and it was delicious had to spoon the gravy out as did not want to waste a drop and such good value for money.Definately be back.
