A very disappointing visit to somewhere we had earmarked for a long time. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon to find a very jaded group staff gathered in a clump behind the till yet no-one seemed eager to come forward to serve us, the girl whose attention I managed to get seemed almost surprised that I needed something from her and questions about ingredients (I am gluten and nut free) were met with bewilderment. A very simple order was turned to complete confusion (double ice creams which were obvious from the fact we asked for 2 flavours turned into singles, only one cup of tea eventually turned up outside even though we ordered two and milk was missing though this was mentioned twice). Seemed like a case of too many cooks...lots of personnel but all very eager for someone else to leap to action rather than themselves and no customer service skills to speak of. I know it was towards the end of the weekend and they were probably tired of being on their feet by 3pm but, really, not a good effort and the worst cafe we have been to since we came to the area. This is the first bad review I have ever given but it needed saying! The venue as a whole could be really great in the right hands but is not being made the most of at all, as per the rest of the Engine Yard where most of the units lay empty, one was annoying shut by 3pm, an hour earlier than advertised, leaving just two shops open and the whole experience was completely lack-lustre, gimmicky and overpriced!

It's a shame as used to go regularly there by they can't seem to get the correct drinks for the drive thru and drinks are badly made.

It's not often I leave a second review on a TripAdvisor page but I thought this was warranted. I arrived at around 8:30 in the morning, ie. when the coffee shop should be fully stocked. One thing which I will note about this place is that their variety of hot drinks is very extensive. I, however, decided to keep things simple and order an English breakfast tea and a croissant. The member of staff then informed me that they had no tea in stock! Never in my life had I been to a coffee shop and been denied an order of something as simple as tea. To make matters worse, they had plenty of herbal teas in stock; just not the most basic thing on the menu. To make matters worse, the staff didn't even serve butter or a knife with my croissant and, despite making it clear that I was sitting in, served it to me in a plastic bag as opposed to a ceramic plate. Very strange considering how environmentally conscious the University of Liverpool claims to be. I will never return to this badly run coffee shop.

We ordered 2 breakfasts with 2 milky coffees, coffees arrived, barley warm, my husband took them back to the counter and asked if they could be reheated, they were reheated and brought back to us, on closer inspection of the cups we realised the cups were dirty, there was also a small red mark on the side if the cup, it looked like tomato! We decided to give the breakfasts a miss, just a little worried about the cleanliness of everything else, we walked out before our breakfast came, if your the owners, if you were wondering why we left without our breakfast this morning, now you know!

Went in with our grandchildren today. Looking forward to having a nice sandwich and some drinks. We had two milkshakes and a latte which were all fine. The problem started with the sandwich. You are offered on the menu sandwich which is shown as cold. The Panini’s are shown as hot. My wife ordered sandwiches, expecting a cold chicken sandwich which we knew the children would eat. After several minutes, the very hot Panini turned up. We were bemused because we had ordered a sandwich. When I took it back to complain, a debate started, and the girl who are taken the order insisted that my wife had ordered a Panini. She would never order a Panini because she doesn’t even like them. We were offered some fries at no extra expense but declined. Not very impressed really..

Run by the Salvation Army the cafe sits near the olympic cycle track. There are tables inside and some comfy sofas though there's no air conditioning so it can get very warm indoors. Wooden picnic tables outside have plenty of options for families with children and dog walkers. The menu is very limited, basically hot and cold drinks, breakfast rolls with a choice of bacon or sausage, pies, pasties, chips, sausage rolls, sandwiches and some pastries. The breakfast bundle is good value at £5 for a breakfast roll and any hot drink. The service is extremely slow but as there's only one pay serving and pay point it's down to the speed of the staff and the amount people are ordering. Between our party we had a steak pasty, a vegetarian pasty, chips and sausage in a roll. The pasties are a good size, chips were plentiful and there were two sausages in the bread roll. Pretty good value and everything tasted very good. I noticed a flyer advertising live music on some evenings with a £2 donation entry fee. I'd happily visit again as we weren't in a rush and enjoyed the lovely sunshine with our food and drinks. The coffee options were good quality.

Popped in for a wine and beer and to watch the rugby before dinner. I’ve never been made to feel so uncomfortable walking in to a pub. The tv didn’t work so was turned off. It was a quick drink and off. Definitely won’t be popping in there to spend £12 off my money with such unfriendly staff

Has to be up They’re with the worst service in London. The staff are incredibly rude, if they can be bothered to acknowledge you at all.

We come with our kids to swimming lessons each week and I am so amazed at the prices they charge for everything! A bottle of water costs more here than at the Royal Opera House and a packet of crisps 50p more than in a Marylebone deli. They don't do any 'kids sizes' on their hot drinks so a hot chocolate for a 5 year old is £3.40!! I couldn't find an email address to contact them but just cannot believe they can justify charging these prices in a leisure centre in Hackney - I guess they can because people have no other choice but I think it is really unfair.

Come down to Hythe on a regular basis, bringing my touring caravan down to the Romney Marsh. If I’m a bit early than the time I’m allowed on site I try to get in and have a drink and something to eat, but can never get on the caravan parking bay as selfish drivers park their cars and lorries on it, and generally in the middle so nobody with caravans can use it. Not big enough bay anyway. Only a small strip. Should signpost it more clearly CARAVANS ONLY.

My daughter and I created a lifetime memory because of Charlie’s beautiful horses. We rode through an amazing variety of open expanses with wild Exmoor ponies in close view to the intimate valley setting for the novel of Lorna Doone. We saw the ruins of a medieval village and wondered about life so long ago. Charlie is in love with this wild place and will give you a delightful tour. She is fun and makes you feel special!
