I am absolutely disgusted with the attitude of the staff in this cafe. What customer service training have they had? I tried to get hot water in my flask to make a bottle for my baby to be judged for not having any (already used it all, we was at the park the full day) to then be charged for hot water! This is vile. I have never in all my life been charged for hot water for a baby never mind be judged for using what I had in my flask. ‘John’ the manager…clearly not old enough to run a cafe was extremely rude, judgemental and unprofessional. The woman in the old icecream shop (near the ducks and other animals) on the other hand was the opposite, glad to help mums with babies and provided me with hot water for free. I’d avoid this cafe at all cost, nothing but disappointment and I will be taking matters further to the council.

An exceedingly rude lady, who I assume was the manger, refused to fill a flask with boiling water to feed my baby. She said “with all due respect it’s your responsibility” when I said I needed to feed my baby, making out I’m a bad and irresponsible mother. I had spent £7 on sandwiches and my mum had bought 3 coffees. Everywhere else I have ever been have been very willing to fill it up. It really upset me to the point of tears. Mums with babies have a hard enough job as it is without having experiences like this. It’s a family friendly park and her attitude completely ruined our visit. I have since read several reviews with similar situations, which have disgusted me. Such a great park deserves so much better!! Update to say that the ladies at the old park shop were exceedingly nice and friendly and were more than happy to fill up our flask. Definitely go there instead.

This cafe is a big let down. East Park deserves better. Slow indifferent and amateur service, by staff who seem to think friendliness or smiling is illegal. Park cafes are often great but this one seems determined to bring a dampener to the otherwise lovely park experience. Ridiculously overpriced for nearly everything they are selling. Loud music blaring out which ruins the lovely park atmosphere. We weren't convinced the staff understand basic hygiene. I've been to much more impressive snack kiosks than this cafe. New friendly better grade staff needed please!

Absolutely diabolical food and service. Queued for 20 mins to be then told 'Breakfast food ( bacon butties toast etc) had stopped (I was by then past 12pm) yet they still do egg on toast! Ordered 2 kids meals of fish fingers and chips. Meals come put slathered in tartare sauce. No chips. I was told I hadn't ordered them! £22 for 2 inedible sandwiches, 1 egg on toast (cheap margarine), 1 cuppa and 1 soft drink. Avoid like the plague

Second time visiting this lovely cafe after doing the parkrun. 😍 Organised a vegan runner meet up and 10 of us attended the cafe after. 🙌🙌🏃‍♀️🏃🏃🏻‍♂️ My oat latte coffee and vegan breakfast were lovely and I bought cakes to take home for the family. 👍 The young man with glasses is a credit to the cafe. Making an effort to advise us of all the vegan options available when he saw our vegan runner vests and being super friendly. ❤️ Thanks for offering such delicious vegan food at very reasonable prices. ✔️ The tofu scramble is lush. 😋

Called in here to grab a coffee and was appalled to hear the staff basically chase a family of 6 out. The staff came over to tell the children to give up their seats as "I've got paying customers waiting" when challenged that they had eaten meals too and were just ordering ice cream the reply was "well they don't need to sit to eat that" Not surprisingly they left as dud we soon after. They need learn what customer service is.

Hmmmm what can I say. The prices range as does the quality if food. For some undercooked homemade quiche is around 3.50. Not bad, but the pastry is raw. Chips are also priced 3.50. Which considering there is a chippy over the road that's cheaper and a park kiosk also cheaper, it's a bit of an ask. The day we went the staff were really friendly. However, I am surprised as this is not the usual. They appear to be very judgemental, especially if you have kids and the kids are not perfectly behaved as in the victorian times. Only half the seating is available now and this is not ok if its raining. I think if you are an OAP they will love you. If you don't meet their ideal, they'll make it obvious. Such a shame as this is a real community hotspot. I suspect there is no need for the managers to be nice, they have a captive audience.

Decided to pay a visit as we err coming through to north of the Humber for a parkrun and heard we could get a good vegan breakfast from here. It was one of the best I’ve had and I was really impressed with the tofu scramble: 😋 Met another vegan runner (it’s a national club and only £6 unaffiliated membership for the year) who came with us for coffee and a muffin. Would definitely recommend. I heard their vegan afternoon teas and picnics are good too.

My husband and I have been visiting this cafe for a few years, we used to enjoy the visit, proper cutlery, plates and lovely napkins, yes customers notice these things! So, around a year ago things started to decline. We tried going again this morning taking our well behaved little dog, I ordered a coffee each and a lemon drizzle cake, my hubby coffee and a pack of Kitkat bites. When securing our dog I noticed the table bases were all dirty, and obviously had only ever had a mop over them. The food came....I had to look at my cake 3 times!! Wish I'd taken a picture.... it was I'd say one inch wide, and about 2 inches tall. It went in 4 bites, and cost £3. No quibble with the price, we all know everything has doubled in price recently, but the miniscule portion! I called a waitress over who had to get a male colleague to speak to me. I said £3 for this? He couldnt see what I was referring to. I said the size of this piece. He gave me the usual, It's all pre portioned.... Oh everything has gone up, everything......yes I get that...we are pensioners....we don't get our pension increase for weeks yet, so I know how things have gone up. My husband counted the pieces, and the cake, if all sold would have cost ,£48. £48 for 1 cake! Unbelievable. Plus his chocolate was almost at the sell by date too. The only plus point was the coffee was actually tasty and I enjoyed mine. Have to think hard about returning. Hard times.

Feel inclined to write a review as I have genuinely never experienced such abysmal customer service in a cafe, in my life. Visited with a friend, we both had young children with us, it was a very cold day. From the beginning the lady was unfriendly and quite rude. My friend ordered first, asked if she could order a small warm milk or tea for her little boy and met with complete hostility and "no we don't provide anything like that here" (kids drinks seemed limited), so she asked for another cup which was begrudgingly provided. Then I ordered, my little girl spent a while choosing a cake and I ordered a milky hot chocolate , asking for a small cup for daughter and splash of milk, with that, a very rude young man stomped out from the kitchen exclaiming I would have to pay for a splash of milk and cup "we do not condone sharing drinks here"!!! My daughter Is 2 and I was sharing because they don't provide drinks for children! I asked how much a splash of milk was (I was happy to pay reasonable amount) and he said £2.40 so I said I was very disappointed with the service in general and wasn't prepared to pay that for a splash of milk to which he whipped my tray off me, and asked us to leave. Terrible, so rude do not bother wasting your time here!

Used to visit often when it was alright, but now it's lost its way. Very small boring menu, some overpriced for the average quality. Place feels and looks like a sad greasy spoon cafe. Rude, bossy manager that seems to have put fear into the staff as well as the customers! Has a depressing end of the line feel about the place. Loud screechy rock music playing through a shrill tiny cheap speaker. Dirty floors, tables and windows. Dogs on chairs being fed at the tables. Coffee and tea, weak and warm in cloudy old glasses. Boring old food served in polystyrene trays. Orders repeatedly screamed out loud over the chaos by young depressed looking teens. Has a bad atmosphere with no charm or passion. Vulgar bright orange and green walls. Outside water fountains with bright blue dye and litter. The peaceful ambience of the park is drowned out by the Loud speaker near the door. This place needs a re think and someone with a heart and a vision....don't waste your time, warm and friendly it is NOT.

I have made 4 visits to this cafe in the past month and although “salad tray” is on the menu they have always ran out and are not prepared to make you one as it “takes too much time”. As a person trying to stick to a diet this cafe is a waste of time as the salad is the only diet friendly choice. It has come to the point where I bring something else with me as I know it will not be available. I have managed to get one once and it was very nice. Before covid this was a lovely cafe and the food choice and standard was fantastic but since re-opening it has dropped significantly in its choice

During the busy school holidays they should be cleaned more regularly. We had to queue for a long time to place our order as it was very busy. The food was good when we finally got it. When we had finished eating my daughter joined the queue again to ask for the babies bottle to be filled with hot water so she could give him some milk later. The assistant was rather offish and asked if we had eaten in the cafe. We had, and it wasn't cheap so surely it doesn't hurt to give water for a baby. The cafe should be more family friendly as it is in a park meant for families.

However, I wanted to go the other week with my family but they were only selling food to takeaway because they shut the entire restaurant for cleaning. I personally would do it in sections or try keep on top of the mess. We walked out because of this. It had said the restaurant would remain open until half an hour before the park closes at around 7. Walked in to find more than half the cafe closed off for cleaning, leaving only a few seats along the windows, presumably so they didn't have to do as much when they closed later on.Went to the counter and asked if they did squash, the girl informed us of the options available, unfortunately none were suitable for my niece, so we asked if they could just give her a tap water. Here enters the rude staff member who asks with a stroppy tone "well are you going to order any food with it?!" She could have just politely mentioned we'd have to order something else, but she opted for raising her voice instead. We told her we were planning on getting coffee too, at which point she went to get the water. It came filled to the brim and spilling, and in a stained cup with dust in it. I asked the nicer girl to replace it and she did. Pro tip: order water last or you'll be given an accusatory attitude to go with it.The filter coffee we ordered was disgusting , tasted old and burnt, was also returned and replaced with almost equally terrible machine brewed coffee in a smaller cup though we paid for the larger. Wasn't even hot enough for the sugar to dissolve. We used the toilet facilities and found them dirty, there were skid marks on the bowl and used tissues on the floors and counter tops around the sink. We were scowled at by the rude staff member every time she walked past. Next time we visit the park I'll make sure to bring a flask of coffee instead.

If you order the lovely meat pie that is full of steak & oozing with gravy, along with a selection of fresh vegetables or order a panini or jacket potatoe, they all come with a well presented and tasty salad that could be a meal in itself.
