Webster's in Blackpool

Looks can be deceiving. On entry this looks like a lovely venue. However, the waitresses are all over the shop. I'm not blaming them I think they have no direction. We ordered food for a family of 5. They brought the food out one by one with a duration of 2-3 minutes between each one and forgot to bring out my mother in law's food. My father in law got a mixed grill but instead of gammon he got an extra piece of chicken. The steak on his mixed grill was tiny and not cooked correctly. Complete waste of money. Avoid at all costs. Blackpool has some great restaurants so don't waste your time in this place.

Awful!! - everything was wrong!, wrong drinks, wrong food, wrong table, terrible confused service, would like to write an essay but not enough space! We thought we were in a Fawlty Towers episode!! 🤣😂

My wife and I came in for a meal and the service from the staff down stairs is the only reason they got 2 stars. They were very friendly. My meal however was pretty blah. I had the mixed grill for £19.90 and it really wasn't worth more than £10 max. The sausage was cheap cheap. The gammon STEAK was ridiculously thin and small. Seriously I've had thicker packet ham. The Sirloin steak that I asked for Medium rare, was small, thin and was well done. It was more like minute steak. I got half a mushroom (who does that). I got 3 onion rings, half a tomato and chips. Can't fault the chips. They were nice. None of our food was hot even though it came pretty swiftly which is strange. Again this is purely based on the food as the bar and waiting staff were really nice. Quite honestly I've had bigger, better and cheaper mixed grills in Wetherspoons. Just bypass it and go somewhere else.

Went in and only 1 man behind the counter.. waited 10 mins to be served. He was taking multiple orders and got confused. Ordered 2 coffees and an orange juice.. the coffee came to the table 20 mins later without spoons and sugar also noticed others had a biscuit with their coffee. Had to go to the counter to get sugar and spoons.

Nipped in for coffee and cake and was pleasantly surprised. It’s one of the only places along the sea front that isn’t a complete dive. The atmosphere was nice and chilled, great cheesecake and good service too.

This place is a hit with my family. What a surprise to find somewhere opposite Blackpool Central Pier that’s not just ping ping food! Usually places is such a busy location are under par but Webster’s is a great find. We first visited on our last trip to Blackpool and couldn’t resist coming back. This is a great place to step away from the hub bub of busy Blackpool. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming with great decor. The food is delightful. We had burgers and pizza. Very tasty! The chips are delicious. The staff are all super friendly and helpful. I’m sure we’ll be back.

Ordered and paid but did I not receive my food would not recommend terrible service the woman at the till was very ignorant

1st evening in Blackpool we happened across this place. Liked the look of the inside and the menu. Went in and ordered no problem. Unfortunately the food took forever, there were 5 of us including a child. My husbands pizza came out first which by the time the second dish came out my husband had finished but the chips he had ordered to go with it had not yet appeared, my dads steak then arrived, he was half through this before my sons food arrived with my husbands chips .. mine and my mums chicken then arrived when my dad and husband had finished. We also ordered sauces to go with our chicken which we asked for twice but never arrived. The food when it arrived was really nice but the staff had a couldn’t care less attitude and we wouldn’t return.

After a rather busy and long day at the Pleasure Beach we were looking for a decent sit down meal. We were only staying in Blackpool for two nights so we hadn't done any research on any good places to eat so we decided to give Websters a go (this was around 9.00pm). Myself and my partner ordered the 8oz sirloin and rib eye steaks (£17 a go) - and my goodness I hate to say it but they were the WORST steaks I've ever had! Both were about 2cm thick and just terribly bland and under-seasoned. They looked like they had been flattened to a pancake with a hammer or something, I've never seen anything like it and for £17 a go you must be having an absolute GIRAFFE!!!!! I don't know how they get away with it, it's a joke and if anything disgusting for a place on the forefront. I could have cooked better steaks myself for half the price! Quite frankly, I was SHOCKED at what we received. There were three onion rings thrown onto each plate which were undercooked, one small fried tomato each and some chips which were the best part of the meal - crispy and seasoned. I think the chef (who was very friendly and accommodating) may have noticed I wasn't happy because he gave us some free chicken nuggets for my child (wasn't even going to attempt to try those) an extra portion of chips and free peppercorn sauce which was watery and tasted like peppered gravy. My child wanted a pizza but we were told they didn't have any which was odd, plus we didn't have any cutlery on our table. You simply cannot charge prices like that for food that poor, it's daylight robbery! The only good thing I can say about this place is that the staff were very friendly and helpful, the food came out fast and the chef was as helpful as he could be considering the circumstances. I would have expected so much better for a place that is right on the seafront, I mean why don't they make more of an effort to make the place look nicer by cleaning the windows or updating the decor - just some suggestions. I definitely will NOT be returning if I ever come to Blackpool again and I would NOT recommend this place to anyone! It will be memorable to me but in all the wrong ways!

The caeser salad was wedges of what tasted like unwashed lettuce drowned in sauce with about 6 croutons and undetectable amounts of parmesan. Husband's was the same, with about 2 stands of grated mozzarella. Homemade coleslaw was nice, but a ridiculously small portion for £3. Waitress didn't know what she was serving and just plonked it down. Now onto the garlic bread. 😱. Dry. Burnt. Tasteless. Rock solid. Asked for it to be replaced, which it was. Only difference was it was a tiny bit less burnt. Ended up leaving hungry and going along the pier to fill up on churros. Will not be back. Don't waste your money.

Stopped here for some cocktails, friendly enough service- if a little chaotic. Wrong drinks supplied initially but corrected. Sticky table was a pain, unacceptable! Quite good value.

The reviews that have been left previously really do not reflect my visit at all. The place must be under new management because the service was nothing less than perfect. We ordered the panko prawns, chicken wings and a garlic bread that were beautifully presented and tasted amazing followed by the a full round of Texas Rodeo burgers. Wow is all I can say. Cheap cocktails but amazing tasting and well presented and massive variety of gins and vodka. The decor is beautiful and vibe is just buzzing. Will definitely be back. Looking at the reviews that have been before mine, they've definitely turned themselves around.

Went here tonight for tea with my friends. Great location in the heart of Blackpool town centre but the food was a bit disappointing as I ordered a Caesar salad but I expected it to come with chicken rather than be asked if I wanted chicken. The food should have come out altogether not one dish by one. We waited 10 minutes for the last one. Won't be returning.

Dived in here for lunch to avoid a strong shower of rain. On a crowded very samey promenade, we were pleasantly surprised once inside. Decor is good, seating nice and the staff friendly and pleasant. We ordered a couple of pizzas and drinks and all arrived quickly. The pizzas were pretty good and the prices reasonable for the sea front. One downside - toilets were not brilliant and the gents “interesting”. The two urinals are mounted on the wall opposite large windows with clear glass !. Good job they are on the first floor !.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS , ordered starter 2 brown lettuce leafs & mozzarella sticks, paper cup chilli sauce. Main course steak chips onion ring mushrooms, smelt awful and was obviously meat that had gone off, burnt chips onions rings not cooked, I little tomato & mushrooms, butterfly chicken wasn’t much better. Then the fun begun!! Spoke to who I think was the manager, to busy putting her lipstick on behind the bar, and speaking down to one of her many underaged staff. She asked what the problem was I explained, she offered a refund with attitude which was only a partial refund, while walking out she made a very clear derogative comment to which we heard. We then went next door to get what was supposed to be simple fish & chips thinking we can’t go wrong there, however after ordering our food we we’re greet by her walking though to the counter next door and yet again making snide remarks, My husband asked her to repeat what she had said, to be then met by herself & the other girl shouting at him. These places are run by amateurs, and clearly need shutting down. or change of staff management & chef, before someone is seriously ill with food poisoning.

Went here yesterday and has to be probably the worst experience I have had going for a meal. So overpriced as well, soft drinks (coke cola) £4.80 wasn't even a pint either. To start, the mains were coming out before the starters. Some starters didn't even make it to the table. 2 mains arrived and they looked disgusting, very overcooked but cold and both dishes had items missing. 2 mains didnt arrive for 20 minutes but by this point we had already asked to speak to a manager who also hadn't come to speak to us. In the end we waiting 30 minutes to be spoken to and a further 20 minutes to be given a part refund. Worst thing is there's plenty of staff but seems to be a lack of leadership. Having been in the industry for 20 years to say this is the worst is vert bad. Please retrain as the decor and building looks nice and has a lot of potential.

Absolutely awful & never had such poor service at anywhere else. Served some food but missed others starters then mains were absolutely dreadful & inedible. Paid over £145 for this garbage & would never go back. Wish we had seen other reviews before wasting our money

Drink was cool fresh .food could be alot better small portions chips had black ends and steak chicken very cheap looking but nice place for a drink.

11 of us arrived for a meal after enjoying a fabulous day at Leisure Beach. We were told to sit upstairs. As we walked upstairs, steps or stairs were filthy, not vacuumed and tables were stinky, not cleaned. We firstly ordered drinks and the bar attendant was friendly. After this, we placed our orders. X4 mixed grill, x1 sirloin steak, x2 rib eye steaks all medium, x1 mozzarella salad with tomato’s, X3 garlic bread and x1 margarita pizza. In total, we spent over £300.00 in this restaurant. We paid for drinks down stairs and bar lady told us that chef was not happy when he received our order, she said he felt it was too big.. After the order, a young lad (about 14 years old) came to our table and told us order would take about 45 minutes. We said, no problem, but asked if we could have the garlic bread first so we could have as a snack as we waited. No garlic bread was delivered. We continued to wait. X4 grilled mix arrived, x3 had the fried onion and one didn’t. There were no utensils for us to use. There was one waiter running around doing her best. She was clearly tied and seemed tense. I asked if she was ok and she said she was tired. Some of us had almost finished our meal when the salad arrived. The salad was plain, no mozzarella or tomatoes in to. This was pointed out to the fed up looking waiter who asked if it was ok to take the reintroduction as well as the salad to show the kitchen. The salad was later returned with grated cheese and sun dried tomatoes but not fresh tomatoes. The pizza finally arrived when most of us finished eating. Garlic bread was last to arrive. Since we had already eaten our mail course and had paid for the garlic bread, we asked a member of staff for a take away container since we were unable to eat all of the garlic. We were shocked by his reply. Turned out that the man we spoke to was the chef. He told my colleague that Webster’s Coffee bar and grill was not Macdonalds take away and that their establishment was a sit down and eat place and refused to assist. I asked him why he thought it was ok for him to be so rude. I told him that we did not spend over £300.00 at Macdonalds, we spent £300.00 at their establishment. The chef continued to be sarcastic and behaved like an immature grown man. The young 14 year was there witnessing this and laughing. Luckily another worker who witnessed this stepped in to assist. This second young man later apologised for this chefs rudeness. As we were leaving I thought I should speak to the manager about her staff. She told me that there was nothing she could do as we were rude to her staff. The manager was no prepared to listen to what I had to say but repeatedly said she had no time because she was busy. She said we were difficult because we asked for extra ring onions and she gave us a little extra pepper corn dressing we didn’t pay for. We did not understand what the manager was talking about as we didn’t ask for extra ring onions. We mentioned one plate with mixed grill coming without the ring onions. We didn’t ask for extra peppercorn sauce, it was offered by her when she brought the meals when she asked if everyone with steaks wanted sauce. The manager, like her chef would benefit from customer care training. They are both not the run people to be in charge of a seemingly decent looking establishment. Their management style is poor and an embarrassment. If only they employed more sensible staff like the young man who came to us on two occasions to apologise after witnessing the poor behaviour of people he is supposed to look up to. At one time he was forced to tell the chef in front of me to stop it. Thank you young man, sorry I didn’t get his name.

All very positive. Asked about kids eating for £1 with paying adult and got all info needed to sit and stay. Service was great, food lovely and a chill relaxing evening with my four young girls, hubby and grandad. Will be back

Why bother visiting this place? The owners must be arrogant to ignore all these negative reviews. You are in a prime position on the promenade and your blowing it. You need to employ another manager who will train the staff and deliver results. This could be an absolute goldmine if managed properly. We won't be returning till there's a change.

This place has a lot of potential, right on the sea front, and pleasant inside. But the service is awful. We went in with friends for lunch, we ordered separately, but the guys' drinks arrived first, along with some of the food. 15 minutes later the girls' drinks arrived - but they were not what was ordered. Took to bar and returned to table to wait for right cocktails to come. By this point, all but the pizza my partner and I were sharing had been delivered to the table and eaten. The cocktails arrived and we questioned where the pizza was, the girl went to check never to return. When we asked to speak to the manager he immediately asked the American in our party to lower his voice - he hadn't even raised it, let alone said anything abusive, not a great way to solve your customer's issue. The pizza eventually arrived, minus one of its toppings and with not much of the other toppings on it - and our friends said it was substantially smaller than the one they'd had the previous day. We even had to argue to get the complimentary round of drinks we'd originally been offered, which had mysteriously dropped to just one drink, not four. You can imagine the young manager's face when we walked in the next day as a different set of friends had walked us there for coffee (unaware was where we'd been for lunch day before). Even that couldn't be done right. We had to ask for milk for the tea, and then when a second tea and coffee was ordered the tea was delivered to the wrong table (although cup, milk etc had made it to the right table). The stairs up to the bathrooms badly needed sweeping, the table and menus were sticky, and this was late Sunday morning with very few customers in there. Either stick to being a bar, or up your customer service and cleanliness if you want to do food.

Dreadful and rude. 2 couples, 2 orders, same table. Not only did they deliver half the cocktails ...the second half came 15minutes later and was wrong. Food came out different times...45mins for pizza and even then it was half the size from 2days before and not to spec to menu. Rip off just because it was a Saturday? When we enquired where the pizza was, no one came back to us. When we were asked to speak to a manager, my friend from America was accused of raising his voice... he wasn't. Do not go

Bought a bottle of Prosecco, paid and when it came to the bar noticed it wasn’t cold, told they don’t keep it in a fridge (wondered what century we were in) returned glasses twice as were filthy, we weren’t the only ones to do that either,

This was probably the worst experience. Never have i ever been made to feel more criminal with such an innocent situation. We paid almost £20 for 5 soft drinks at the bar, whilst we decided what food we wanted. Once we had all decided My card wasn't accepting at the machine, we'd asked for some time whilst we figured out what was going on, moments later the pizzas for the kids came out (ours didn't come out for a further 15mins anyway) me and my partner bewildered as we were still trying to pay. The kids hungry seeing their pizza one of them severely autistic baring in mind started eating it we knew we had the money to pay but they shouldn't have come out in the first place. My partner called the waitress over to state we haven't yet purchased the said food, bewildered herself she brings over a young lad, with a face of thunder. I approached him politely he replied "you knew you hadn't paid for it, but the food is being eaten!" Speaking to me like that whilst our poor kids just sat there listening, it was clear we had the money not only did we pay £20 at that start for the drinks, we called someone over to resolve it. The food shouldn't have even come out. Customers looked and I was completely embarrassed, they were very aware of the situation and asked if we were OK. The waitresses in their defence were very sympathetic as if they knew of his characteristics and rude behaviour. They rang the manager and was told to enjoy the meal and apologised for such scolding and accusations. Unfortunately I didn't eat mine I was so upset and infuriated. It was our first holiday together

Singapore Sling was the high point of our family meal. Pizzas were lukewarm and pretty bland, kids sausage had been cooked to almost black. Texan Rodeo burger, my wife reports, was great. Service was down the nose of some teenager that wouldn't crack a smile. Great location by central pier, but fails to meet its promise.

Are here 3 times, but the last one was the worst meal I have experienced, the previous night the we ordered a pizza with various other mains I decided that I would have one the next night wow what was served up to me was horrible. See pictures the vase was a plain base not fresh shop bought item.
