Good service but food quality was less than average. Sushi was Ok but chicken teriyaki was bad, most of it was plain rice, chicken was scarce and tasteless, and there was an evident lack of vegetables. Sad if you consider they charge £9 per Teriyaki dish. We won’t come back.

This restaurant moved across the street and down a little bit. They now serve ramen, which my wife said was outstanding, in addition to other fare. My server was able to immediately understand my need for gluten free sushi and told me exactly what I could and could not have. The pickled ginger on my sushi plate was some of the best I’ve had in a long time, not the dyed red garbage from a jar. I would absolutely go back in the future.

Originally intended to go to a better-known ramen restaurant up the road but they were full so we tried this. So glad we did. The pepper beer ramen was fantastic. Broth full of flavour. Seafood ramen also excellent. Nice gyoza. Staff friendly and efficient. Only taking a point off because they add a service charge which has no place in the UK.

All-you-can-eaters .. try this nice small restaurant instead. Lovingly handmade portions made fresh on the spot. Where sushi rice is lukewarm, instead of icecold. Ramen bowls filled richly with ingredients, instead of trying to find some in the stock. Where you receive kind words and attention from the hospitable staff. Not the cheapest in the row of establishments, but .. if you want cheap, then find cheap elsewhere. Its totally worth even that 10 minute ride out of the centre of town. Here the quality is supreme and in good portions too. The pork ramen filled me up. The chunk of salmon in my table guest's bowl was sizeable and fresh. The ladies whispered to us that they may start doing dim sum too soon.

I came in just before it closed, so I only had sukiyaki. I ordered it thinking it wouldn't be delicious anyway, It was Japanese-style sukiyaki. It's a shame that it's a regular iron pot and not a sukiyaki pot, but that's too much to ask for. It would be even better if the beef was 2mm thinner. I think it can't be helped. The eggs for the dip were also fresh and good.

So the food was amazing but I left a bit frustrated as when the waiter brought me my plum wine it fell off the tray, spilling all over the table and my clothes. I couldn’t have been nicer as accidents Happen, I was hoping because I was going to be wet for the rest of the day that I would at least be discounted for the meal however not only was I charged full price but he was cheeky enough to add on a £5 service charge. I don’t think I’ll be going back now, not to that one anyways

After we had already been to Maki & Ramen on Leith Street and enjoyed the food there so much, we wanted to eat at this location again. Even though the menu was the same, we were surprised at how different everything tasted. Unfortunately, the food wasn't equally good and it's a bit of a shame that the branches don't seem to be consistent in their quality. The service was still great and the food tasted good (just not as good as at the other location).
