Ikigai Ramen in Edinburgh, City of

Installé rapidement mais le personnel se permet de nous juger (pas très discret dans leurs regards lancés quand j'ai commandé qu'un ramen, sans accompagnements). Oeuf sans goût, quantité de nouilles insuffisante. Mais bouillon & nouilles sont bonnes. Cuisson et texture de la viande étaient parfaites.

Locale piccolo ma carino e in ottima posizione. Lo staff è molto gentile e il ramen è delizioso. Molto buoni anche i cocktail! Super consigliato.

Aufgrund der guten Bewertungen haben wir für abends einen Tisch reserviert. Wir wurden durch den Eingangsbereich nach hinten und unten geführt und sind in einem sehr ungemütlichen Raum gelandet. Die Stühle zu tief oder der Tisch zu hoch. Die Bestellung konnte schnell aufgegeben werden und das Essen kam nach einer angemessenen Wartezeit. Das bestellte Ramen war sehr gut, dafür würde ich 5 Sterne geben, doch das ungemütliche Ambiente und die unbequemen Stühle haben dazu geführt, dass wir direkt nach dem Essen wieder gegangen sind.

Me encanta el pollo de tántalo. Suficiente picante para mí. El ramen de mariscos era encantador también. Me encanta el tofu en yuzu y el karage de pollo en chile. El servidor era muy servicial y el gerente vino a cada mesa para asegurarse de que todo estaba bien. Hay más asientos abajo. Precio razonable, porciones generosas y deliciosa comida.

Originalmente tenía la intención de ir a un restaurante de ramen más conocido en la calle, pero estaban llenos, así que probamos esto. Me alegro de haberlo hecho. El ramen de cerveza de pimienta era fantástico. Caldo lleno de sabor. Ramen de marisco también excelente. Nice gyoza. Personal amable y eficiente. Solo se toman un punto libre porque añaden un cargo por servicio que no tiene lugar en el Reino Unido.

This is a great wee ramen spot not far from city centre. My fav so far is the vegan tantan (with an egg cos I'm not vegan). The staff are fantastic. Always welcoming, helpful and friendly. The new ice creams are a delicious sweet treat to round things off. We particularly loved the matcha flavour.

Feeling the need for ramen, I was delighted I came across this fun & quirky little place. Clean & busy, the staff were friendly & efficient. Huge bowl of delicious spicy vegetarian noodles, a side of crispy tofu, & 2 delicious gin cocktails later, I was ready to tackle the long journey home. Also enjoyed reading through the Post-Its of previous diners. 🥰

Dropped in whilst wandering around looking for some food inspiration. Unassuming from the outside, it is bright and clean on the inside. The staff were attentive and helpful and my Salt & Pepper Beef Ramen was as good as any I have ever had. It was sensational. The little Japanese Ice Cream Desserts were interesting and different but well presented and very tasty too. A real find - and it would have been easy to wander past. If you are in the area, do yourself a favour and pop in. You will not be disappointed.

Had a shopping and looking for somthing sapice make me warm found a hidden gem.Lovely food and service. Ramen was so good. Space was bit tight though.

Lugar pequeño y agradable. La camarera muy amable. Comimos Ramen de pollo y de ternera, sabroso. Servicio rápido. Lo recomiendo.

Very unassuming place, and wouldn’t have thought to visit if I hadn’t been recommended to visit. Very small place with limited tables, smells delicious inside - tried to get in previously one Saturday lunchtime, but there was a 30-40 minute wait for a table. The food was all excellent, probably one of the best ramens I’ve had. We had a tonkotsu and a seafood ramen, with togarashi karaage to share - all served very quickly and piping hot. Everything was so full of flavour and moreish but filling. Very reasonably priced. The reason this is a 4 star review (and it really pains me to do so!) is down to the service. The two waiters were overall quite disinterested and impersonal, and slightly aloof which is a real shame. Overall would definitely be back and strongly recommend to others!

I'm vegetarian, and the restaurant fed me chicken. Visually, it looked like the tofu I had ordered, but after a few bites, I asked the waiter, and he confirmed it was meat. I said I was vegetarian (I had done this when ordering, too). The waiter said they were understaffed, sorry about the mix up, and left. After a few minutes of feeling unwell and upset, we decided to leave. They let us skip the bill, but it was an upsetting experience.

Really good ramen. Really really good ramen. Quick service, nice staff, great place for fans of Midnight Diner: Tokyo Series 😀

Tried Ikigai today and desperate to go back already! We tried the tantanmen ramen, it was so warming and tasty with the freshest noodles. The loaded fries were great, chicken wings crispy and full of flavour and the croquettes weren’t just boring croquettes but really yummy and topped with mayo. Service was rapid given the place was full! Waiters were fantastic. Can’t wait to come back!

We came by having read some great reviews and we were not disappointed, the Ramen and starters were amazing, reasonably priced and great staff and atmosphere, would highly recommend.

We visited here after a busy day at the National museum of Scotland. We were greeted by the manager, a very friendly and chirpy chap from America made us feel very welcome. He even gave us a lesson in how to use chop sticks and we all really appreciated this. The food was amazing for us. I had the Tantanmen Char Sui ramen and my partner and son had the chicken Ramen. Both types were super delicious, full of flavour in both the broth, veg and meat. And they were filling. We also tried the loaded fries, the salt n seaweed and the Sriracha chip. Both very tasty. Good atmosphere. Nice and relaxed. We turned up without booking and were lucky as the place soon filled up not long after our arrival. Can't wait to go back.
