Visted on a very quiet Sunday evening, took the option D Set menu - beef, pork and chicken with 3 sides and 2 sauces - perfect amount for 2, rice portions reasonable size. Delicious and well explained by the staff, will visit again

Korean restaurant in Edinburgh! It was my baby's birthday during the trip, so I visited this place to recharge my energy with Korean food and meat. I read the reviews before going and the reviews weren't bad. First of all, the owner seems to be a good cook. This is my first time serving side dishes and they taste so good!! And I ordered meat, and the meat was good too. It was soft and delicious. Especially since it’s my son’s birthday. Seaweed soup, which was not even on the menu, was served as a service. (Thank you so much ㅜㅜ) It wasn't the seaweed soup commonly eaten in Korea. There were a lot of ingredients and it tasted good. Even if you create a menu for customers who are looking for umami without being spicy, It would be nice haha~ Anyway, there is Edinburgh. If you want to eat Korean pork belly, I highly recommend it.

I really recommend it to Koreans traveling! The silken tofu stew tastes exactly like Korean food, and is especially more delicious than any other Korean restaurant.

I love this place. The food is really good and the service is nice and efficient! It's one of my favourite places to go because they open every day of the week until late. Every month I go and try a different dish. They were all good so far. Highly recommended!

Nice place to try traditional Korean cuisine. Staff friendly and helpful and all the food was freshly made and very enjoyable. The restaurant can be a bit busy at times but we'll worth a visit.

I'm looking forward to a return visit. There's a number of things on the menu I'd like to try having enjoyed immensely one of the set menu options alongside the Kimchi pancake. Cooking the food on the table was really good fun and we found that rice wasn't necessary and instead asked for more lettuce. Delicious all round and very helpful staff.

Good Korean bbq place - got the spicy chicken, galbi, and bulgogi for bbq. Recommend skipping the chicken - not worth it. Also got japchae - it was good.

Amazing food and great service! The pork belly is literally the best quality u can find around Edinbrugh, as well as their signiture pot, which was also better then any other asian styled hot pot I have tried around this whole region. I eat a LOT so I was worried it wouldn't be enough, but the amount they serve is indefinitely filling!

I love Korean food and the food here is by far the most authentic I've had in awhile. Good prices and good portions. Ambiance was comfy and staff was great at serving and explaining how to cook for those by my table that was new to Korean cuisine. Definitely recommend if in the area.

During my trip, I was craving some Korean food, so I stopped by! The owner and employees were friendly, and the atmosphere of the store was nice. I had soft tofu stew and seafood and green onion pancakes, and it felt like I was just eating it in Korea. They said they made the kimchi themselves, and it was really, really, really delicious!!!

Probably the least friendly dining experience I’ve had for a long time, ordered 4 complete bbq sets that are supposed to serve 2 each between five of us but we get two little trays of lettuce and are told after the first refill we need to pay extra. Shouldn’t we have at least 8 before they are going to charge us extra? Asked for Korean fried chicken and the waiter has no idea what that that is and suggests Japanese teriyaki and yakitori!? We get our food and then he wouldn’t let us turn our hot plates up and most of our meat ended up grey and steamed and completely wasted. Didn’t help that it was served to us frozen and undefrosted, now he wants us to cook it on two bars of heat. Was pretty ridiculous, he wouldn’t leave us alone to enjoy our food without harassing us. Food was decent as always, just a generally unpleasant experience otherwise, just got stared at like second class citizens the whole time. Won’t go back.

Very authentic and tasty - one of very few Korean restaurants in the entire Europe that got me to re-visit once again the day after initial visit. The staff are welcoming and helpful. I have tried a few dishes - all of them were as authentic as it can get being made outside of Korea and also very tasty. Strongly recommended! We stopped by and dined two days in a row during our visit to Scotland. It's clean, friendly, and the food is neat and delicious. Highly recommended!

Came in very unfamiliar with korean food and bbq but staff were really helpful in answering any questions, and restaurant provided free sauces, salads (which could've sold as sides themselves), and water. That on top of the incredible bbq beef and squid makes this is a must eat place whenever I get the chance.

This place was delicious! They taught us how to use the BBQ and make the best combinations. The meat was good quality and very flavoursome. The condiments and salads were amazing! I also had a side of tteokbokki which was unbelievable! Very fun concept for a date too. Would recommend!

I lived in Seoul for six years and I think this is the most legit Korean restaurant I've been to in the UK. In Newington of all places. The family that runs it are really friendly and the service is great.

«Hidden food treasure» - plenty of food, good price & service!

The staff were really helpful and attentive and showed us the best way to use the barbecue. We ordered two servings of pork between two people and one kimchi pancake, and the servings were very generous!

Food was so great and portions were very generous. There was 5 of us eating, including one vegetarian, and we ordered BBQ sets (both meat and veg) and a few other dishes from the menu, and we got some complementary items too. By the end of it we were all so full we couldn't finish it all! The food is absolutely delicious and lovely authentic Korean recipes (we know this as three of us are from South Korea). Some of the dishes were nice and spicy, and some mild so there definitely was something for everyone's palate. The customer service was very attentive and kind. We had booked a table but it was not too busy for walk-in customers either, even though it was dinner time on a bank holiday. I would very highly recommend this restaurant, and I would give it six starts if I could!

I have to say I was having a very bad experience with Korean BBQ. The food was okay but the service was really poor and we were asked to pay for the lettuce for £2 a small plate even though it was all free before. We were not feeling being treated fairly as the waiter was teaching the close table guests how to cook better and checking in with them but they keep forgetting to bring the tap water which we asked at the beginning.

Food and service was great, we ordered the Set Menu D as well as three other main courses and the food was more than enough for the three of us :). Would highly recommend to anyone near the area.

Really delicious... I had kimchi stew, stone pot bibimbap, and pork bulgogi, and it was all good. Since I came to my senses, I ate it all haha.

Brilliant, well prepared food with a nice setting. The grill was good fun and a good introduction for my first time doing this style of Korean food. The only issue was we felt rushed (we arrived a full hour before closing and they presented us with the bill 15 mins before they shut the doors)

A long time for us didn’t have a proper Korean BBQ in a real Korean restaurant. Lucky to grab a parking space one street upper. It’s a good sign to hear the staffs speaking in Korean instead of some other Asian languages. It means that at least the foods are probably managed by Koreans. Starter: seafood pancake is great, more crispy will be what we like more but it’s fine to be a bit soft. Assorted meal set includes pork belly, beef rib eye, sliced beef, sliced pork neck and sliced spicy chicken thigh. The quality of the meats are quite good. Got lettuce to eat with lots of meat. King prawns are fine. Good service to change the bbq grill pan in the middle of the meal. But what we just suddenly remembered while we were driving home is the sliced raw garlic and super spice red sauce and the kimchi cabbage are missing, no wonder we felt a bit strange but don’t know what was that. 😆😆😆 With kids, we were used to go with less spicy foods. Maybe that’s why we forget. 😆😆 We appreciate the hot drinks a lot. Although it’s a bit expensive, the size is good enough to come with a pot. I can still finish it all. Love the Korean barley tea most. A Very Good Korean restaurant anyway.

If you have not tried Korean cuisine I would definitely recommend you try the BBQ restaurant in Newington. It provides great food at very reasonable prices. Our party of nine were given a very warm welcome from the BBQ staff and were treated to complimentary dishes of mixed vegetables which included a spicy Kimchi which was delicious. Currently the BBQ does not have drinks licence but we were allowed to BYOB. I started with Prawn Tempura and for my main course chose Pan fried Beef with Bab Rice, a great choice. Everyone agreed that the food was delicious coupled with the excellent service we received made it a night to remember. In summary I would definitely recommend a visit to the BBQ, you won't be disappointed.

I ate set B of meat, beef stew, and rice together. The grill was strong so I grilled the meat deliciously, and the owner was friendly, so I had a great time. The owner has recently changed and seems to be trying harder to serve good food. Please visit once.

Had a hankering for Korean BBQ. Overall, a decent meal. Had the sirloin steak BBQ and it was delicious. Recommend making a reservation as the place fills up quickly.

This is our secound trip here. We went out of our way to come back, the cozy atmosphere and food is why we returned😁. The only downside was I had to ask for water multiple times before getting a half filled glass.

The foods were good however the service was opposite. We were forced to pay service charges as the waiter said it is mandatory. We would be ok if we would have treated well. Even asked for water, we were asked why we requested a lot of things?

You are given clear instructions if you've never been there before. The grill is replaced multiple times during the meal. Service is quick and personnel is kind. We got the assorted meat set. It was enough for three people, but we did need to buy extra lettuce.

Ironically this is my favourite Korean restaurant in Edinburgh despite it being run by Chinese people. The food is most similar to what I would find in Seoul, down to the cutlery.

Khi chúng tôi hỏi liệu chúng tôi có thể có thêm đồ ăn kèm và rau không thì họ bảo có và chỉ mang ra mỗi rau sau đó bảo nếu chúng tôi cần phải trả thêm 2đ sau đó. Chúng tôi đã rất sốc. Phục vụ rất khó chịu. Tôi đã quay lại đây lần thứ 2 và hy vọng mọi thứ sẽ tốt hơn nhưng không , mọi người trong chúng tôi đều cảm thấy quá tệ. Vậy dựa trên cơ sở nào họ lại được lấy tiền phục vụ khách.

After our journey up Arthur’s seat, we came across this restaurant, our very nice lady host was warm, welcoming, and very helpful with the menu. The food was really good, great service, and bustling atmosphere! They are capable of catering for a gluten, dairy, and egg free diet! Food adequate, although over priced and small portions for katsu curry which doesn't even come with rice. What I really object to is the website advertising the old prices, only to arrive to collect my takeaway and being charged £4-5 more per dish than I was expecting because they haven't bothered to update their website with new prices. I felt this was misleading advertising and it tainted my meal.

Unlike other Korean restaurants in Edinburgh, Korean BBQ truly brought a slice of Korea to Scotland, offering a genuine taste of Korean cuisine that felt like a culinary journey to Korea itself.

We had a casual meal here at the weekend and we had a lovely time. The food was utterly delicious and we had the nicest waiter you could imagine (Thank you, Jeongwoo), who welcomed us very genuinely and expertly talked us through the menu. He saw to it that we had everything we needed before we knew we needed it and made the meal an absolute pleasure. We’d gone just early enough to get a table without booking (5:30). Any later and they wouldn’t have had space for us, so be warned. The fried dumplings were delicious -so much so that we ordered another portion. The kimchi pancake was perfect and the barbecue meats were of high quality. We can’t wait to go back and intend to become regulars.
