The best restaurants serving Japanese food in London

We first rang this restaurant from the British museum to see if we had to book up as we have never been to an itsu restaurant before. We spoke to a very friendly member of staff who ended up being the manager Greta who told us we could just turn up and didn't need to book. After a short walk from the British museum (10 minutes) we arrived at the Brunswick Centre. From the moment me and my family entered this wonderful itsu restaurant we were greeted again by the lovely Greta who helped us feel at ease and explained how to use the food ordering system. In fact Greta was so good at customer service she even helped us use the ordering system and showed us the sizes of the meal options. Our 10 year old son had some sushi and loved it! We also tried the Teriyaki Chicken and the Thai Chicken rice bowl. We would totally recommend going to this itsu restaurant and sampling both the amazing range of Asian food and friendly service. I think the manager Greta really made our experience extra special and you can tell the pride she has in her work, a real asset to itsu and I hope she get the recognition from them she most definitely deserves!

I ordered this every other Friday at work and it was great every single time - would high recommend!

Sono andato per la cena e non riuscivo a trovare il ristorante. Il mio navigatore insisteva sul fatto che ero arrivato ma non riuscivo a vedere l'insegna! Ho fatto più attenzione al numero civico n.70 e oggi non esiste più questo ristorante ma bensì un altro che tratta carne alla griglia e burger, nulla a che vedere con cucina giapponese !!! Non ho indagato con gli attuali gestori del sito perché mi è sembrato inopportuno.

We went this afternoon for my cousins birthday. We did the bottomless brunch (£50pp). It was really disappointing. There were only 4 cocktails to choose from, Prosecco, beer and house wines. We went specifically because we wanted cocktails and were very disappointed with the options. The food portions were very small and we actually found the sliders ridiculously spicy to the point they weren’t enjoyable. Sides are £5-6 each for chips. Considering the price we definitely expected more. The one positive was the staff, they were attentive and quickly came straight over whenever we finished a drink. For what ended up being £60 each it was terrible. We left stone cold sober (after 16 cocktails) and hungry. Good food we could have gotten over it but the whole experience was just meh. Wouldn’t recommend especially if it’s a special occasion.

Amazing food. The freshest sushi I’ve ever eaten, and a wide range to offer. Staff are also lovely !

Lovely food. Azamat was an amazing waiter and helped up choose our food as it was our first time and made the evening special for my boyfriends birthday. Definitely recommend. We had the wagyu gyoza and the pork ribs which were amazing. The sweet potato was a little hard but overall an excellent meal

so good!!! Definitely have the volcano rolls and the spicy beef noodle!! Soooo good. Can also try the wagyu roll, it’s pretty good! A lot better than before.

Siempre vamos a Wagamama cuando estamos en Londres. La comida es consistente y sabrosa. Disfrutamos del curry Edamame, Raisukaree y el curry Firecracker. El Beavertown IPA se elabora en Londres, una cerveza agradable que va bien con el curry. Excelente servicio.

The set menu is absolutely amazing and a great way to try lots of things on the menu! The miso cod was a standout. Great service from Mohammed as well, thank you! :)

Absolutely amazing the best fluffy pancakes ever!!!

I cannot recommend the sushi here highly enough and wish I could've left a 5* star review. Unfortunately, the service and ambience prevented that. The staff seemed unengaged, bored, and miserable, which sadly took the wind out of the whole occasion. We all have bad days, but if you work in a public-facing job, you should greet all customers with a smile and certain energy or find another role. The service certainly didn't fit with the quality of food. Also, the atmosphere was a bit weird, I think because of the negative energy from staff, and lack of lighting. The toilets weren't filthy but definitely sub-par & needing attention, both in terms of cleaning and maintenance. I fully intend go back though, but perhaps under the influence of alcohol in order to be less sensitive to the other elements.
