Heron Tower in City of London, Westminster

Lived up to my expectations. Everything was 5 star, from the cocktails, to the food to the service. The decor was incredible and the views epic, but the best thing about this place is its range of Japanese whisky and Sake options. Planning to go back again soon. The only gripes I have are that I was sent the wrong way to the when saying I had a booking at the samba bar by the receptionist. Plus I spoke with someone ahead of my booking and asked for a table rather than a bar seat, but when I got there they gave me the bar seat. However it was quickly remedied. These issues were minor in comparison to the great service I received while sitting down.

Beautiful views, very ambiance. Our server (Azamat?) was so friendly and courteous. He made our dining experience absolutely perfect. We will be back!

Sushi with a Brazilian twist. This is seriously good food, the taste across all the dishes was amazing. Let’s not forget the views of course. Or the attentive service. Really impressed. Will return for an intimate evening followed by drinks in the bar.

Comida increíble. Tal elegancia y clase del personal, especialmente nuestro camarero. La comida era de primera calidad, ¡aunque no era la más barata! Definitivamente vale la pena. Volveremos pronto! ! Muy bueno para un grupo de amigos. Tendrá que reservar ya que es bastante pequeño y muy popular.

會來此塔,純粹是意外,因為巧合來到Duck n Waffle餐廳用餐,因而欣賞到倫敦美麗夜景,不確定它有沒有特別屬於本棟樓的觀景台,但,如果來上頭餐廳吃飯,附加價值就能欣賞/俯視倫敦夜景,great views, nice meal!值得一來,不來可惜

Un posto che merita di essere visitato da chi si trova a Londra almeno una volta. Si può salire al 40esimo piano di questo grattacielo, ossia proprio in cima. C’è sia il lato ristorante che il lato drink. Noi abbiamo trascorso il pomeriggio nell’area Drink ed è stata un’esperienza unica. Ci sono più bar situati in 3 piani differenti, c’è anche un angolo dove preparano sushi freschissimo. La musica era bellissima, adatta al posto. Abbiamo preso dei cocktail non comuni e buonissimi a 14£ , una bottiglia di vino a 45£ e un antipasto a 25£ ma è ovvio che in un posto così i prezzi siano alti. C’è la possibilità di sedersi in terrazza accanto al fuoco, è tutto molto curato e d’effetto. Il servizio è stato impeccabile

Ansioso por probar este restaurante bien considerado con sus asombrosas vistas de Londres, su hermosa área exterior (no estoy seguro para comer o simplemente para disfrutar de las bebidas de su excelente bar) y su moderna área gastronómica, nos las arreglamos para reservar durante un almuerzo en el Medio de la fabulosa área de la ciudad de Londres.En este contexto, está claro que la clientela son comerciantes de la ciudad / banqueros / corredores y similares, a menudo con grandes cuentas de gastos y falta de tiempo.Nuestra primera decepción fue un camarero bastante oficioso que tenía un aire de superioridad y aparentemente confundió nuestras preguntas para entender el menú como ignorancia. Heron Tower commands an unrivalled position, in the heart of The City, looking DOWN on The Gerkin (another iconic London landmark) with views that are breathtaking, stretching as far as the rolling green countryside bordering this magnificent city. The cocktails are imaginative and delicious, and the bar snacks are outstanding. The staff are helpful and friendly, with nothing being too much trouble.

A wonderful view on the city, a spectacular elevator that put you in an other world. We had a cocktail at midnight!

My partner and myself took a friend for a Valentines pre drink at the bar at the Heron Tower.We ordered 2 gin and tonics and a coke but didn't pay straight away. After one drink we decided to leave and I asked for the bill. This was over £33. It was clear that the two ladies had been served doubles but we had not asked for those. I paid but felt the way this was done was sneaky as the bar man did not ask if we wanted singles or doubles.

Ladies night we visited Sushi Samba, would definitely recommend the place was amazingly ambient, beautiful interior and the nicest exterior I have seen with fire pits and an amazing lit life size blossom tree outside. Drinks prices vary as we found out, a small glass of Pinot being £8.90 and a hand made rhubarb gin being £23.00. But would return for the atmosphere and design alone, a must go if in Liverpool Street or Heron tower.

My boyfriend on a whim decided to go in here. Unfortunately for him he's afraid of heights so the journey up in the glass lifts was absolutely horrendous for him. However, for me the views at night are amazing so definitely worth going here even if it's for a drink.

We had the taster menu that did not disappoint, offering their best dishes with amazing views and service. Staff were very polite and knowledgeable.

Smart-casual bar on 40th floor with fantastic views out over London. Based in the very centre of the City of London, with prices reflecting its location - expensive drinks, but worth it for a treat or special occasion. Glass elevator on outside of building is all part of the experience. Good venue for pre-dinner drinks if the weather provides clear views: recommended.

Fresco impresionante ascensor que te lleva a los restaurantes - tienes un restaurante de sushi y pato y restaurante waffle para elegir para visitar. Buenas vistas de la ciudad y es un buen lugar para probar.

Fabulosas vistas en la cima, el bar de cócteles es increíble, pero no nos impresionó con samba de sushi y no volvería ascensor de cristal fue el mejor!

La mejor parte del restaurante es el alto nivel bar exterior, estado allí muchas veces, pero por la noche es mejor para interiorizar el fresco aire de la noche de londres, con vistas increíbles.

Couldn't get a dinner reservation so we went to the Bar on the 38th to 40th floor (it is split across 3 levels. We went first to the outside bar which was great - bit windy but fantastic views across London on a glorious sunny day, followed by glorious sunset. The bar staff at all bars were very attentive, pleasant, and fast to notice if you weren't being served. Had lovely Lychee Cooler - yum and a G&T. Then went to upstairs bar to look at views across Gherkin to Tower Bridge and beyond. Really great views and also good bar food.

We had the chance to be invited there for a private party. It is really a perfect spot for a small event.The room had 30 people sitting with great views of London. The food was very good. Our waiters were adorable - although the guy who welcomes you when you are out of the elevator was not friendly at all.The outside bar with a view was sadly closed. The other one with a quirky orange tree was open and had a nice vibe.People get very dressed up there (a bit show off maybe) & there is a fun party atmosphere. Unusual: The speedy lift to get there has an amazing London view. Same for the ladies toilets.

Shame the evening was ruined by the start of the night being frisk searched and interrogated and then told I couldn't take my life saving medication up as it was not it's original packaging. Considering it's in massive bottle it's unlikely (but it's clear that unless Gilead have started making illicit drugs as it was clearly labelled) so I was forced to take the medication early and in the lobby. This was absolutely awful behaviour by your door staff and had my partner not bought me here I would have left.

To the right of the building as you look at it from the road is a small entrance to the restaurant/bar. If you are dressed appropriately they might let you up to the bar on the 40th floor. The lift races up making your ears pop and then discharges you outside the toilets in a rather grotty area. Having made your way past these though you enter a wonderful quirky bar with the most amazing views. Drinks are far from cheap, but worth it for the location!

I was in Brick Lane with a visitor from abroad when I decided to take him for a drink on the top floor (40th).Obviously we were dressed as tourists so when we arrived at the reception on the ground floor, we were told, after being nastily checked up by the security guy, that only this time they'd let us go up (middle of the day, clearly no one too fancy upstairs at that time). The elevator experience was majestic and fast, the view was oh my god amazing and we managed to find a space to enjoy it after a few minutes. Great and expensive cocktails, nice staff.

Maybe its a London thing but why do pretty much all the staff at Sushi Sambi look so unhappy?With the exception of 1 of our servers, from front of house throughout i have never seen such grumpy staffWe arrived and were greeted by hostess at the ground floor who was unable to find our booking. Treated us like we were stupid until we showed her their email confirmstion, suddenly she found it! Great startBar area nice and staff helpful but smile they could notOver £600 for 4 of us and again a host of staff that appeared to be there against their willFood was excellent, and it was a shame that all 4 of us felt that with some decent staff this could be an exceptional place. No doubt the location and type of food sells this place rather than the grumpy and suicidal staff. Wont bother again as there are many places in London where i wont think i am bothering the arrogant and stroppy staff by asking for food

38 floors up is a great experience to see the views of London plus eat great food. We want as a business party and the 5 courses were really good with a great variety of food. Even if you don't like raw fish there are other dishes and they accommodate all. The one downside is the noise as there was a DJ playing background music and you can't really hear too much across a table or what the waiters or waitresses are saying. All in all a nice place.

I was invited to an exclusive bday dinner party and wow, what an amazing place with an amazing view of London! We were served sushi all night through and champagne. Food were delicious and very friendly service from the waiters. Since the weather were good we also got to explore some outside space where the massive pink tree is,beautiful! I would recommend anyone to visit this place,just once is enough!

Great views and a couple of good cocktails. However disappointing bar service and when we queried an automatic 12.5% service applied to our bill for drinks we ordered at the bar and that we carried outside, the response was "well I've put it through now". I'm not sure that's great service and surely he could have void it and start again? Better service would have encouraged us to order another drink ... instead we left and carried on drinking cocktails at another venue. Shame, and we are unlikely to return.

Was visiting a friend in London and he took me up the Heron Tower for a cocktail. It can be expensive, so personally I wouldn't eat there unless it was a special occasion. But it was fun to have a rum and coke overlooking the city. Spectacular views even on a cloudy day. Even the elevator ride was awesome!

Gone to Sushi Samba for drinks with some amazing views, the lift to the 40th floor is pretty amazing a great view through the glass of the surrounding city as you go Great views for the city from that level most of the surrounding buildings are dawafed from the glass windows of the bar and restaurant Small choice of cocktails can be expensive from 11pound onwards per drink, but I guess you are paying for the views I would recommend this place for at least couple of visits to experience the views at evening during sunset and night and one of daytime when it's nice and bright

Third time to Sushi Samba. Twice for Lunch with clients and once for breakfast at the Duck and Waffle. The client I took on this occasion was a senior powerful honcho at a large international company, so needed a place to impress. The lift to Sushi Samba is worth the journey in itself. Didn't disappoint with the food either, or the corner table and service. Book in advance for a good spot and also the best views. If you want to the Tower Bridge View, state this clearly. I was most impressed with the head of staff personally coming over to greet us and availed himself at our service. His team did the same too as I had informed them I was bringing the client. My client made a mental note and even joked about buying the building! The sushi is delicious and freshly made on site. No detail is spared and you enjoy the best ingredients. If there is a downside to this eatery, it is the expense. It can be pricey depending on what you order. Not a place if you are watching the pennies. However, definitely worth the trip.

Awful hostess at the door. Wouldn't let a stag party in claiming we had had too much to drink. We had all had 1 beer each and the group ranged between 24-41 years old. One beer would never be too much. She was discriminating against men as she let a large group of females in as we were leaving. Put a downer on the whole night. Not good enough hospitality from a so called "place to go" whilst visiting London. Will never return or recommend anyone go!!

Located a short walk from the Liverpool Street Station tube stop, the Heron building and its top floors offer spectacular views across London. There is a dedicated exterior entrance to the glass elevators that whisk you to the 40th floor and the Duck and Waffle bar and restaurant. A staircase connects to Sushi Samba another fine spot to eat and drink. Reservations are essential, but at Duck and Waffle from3:30-5:00pm there are no reservations and walk ins can often be accommodated. Winter sunset views over the city were well worth the effort and expense.

I have been to both restaurants in the tower sushisamba and Duck and Waffle.We ate in Duck and Waffle the views are amazing but I would say the food and service is average.I haven't eaten at Sushisamba but we had cocktails and drinks. The service was brilliant view was amazing and the cocktails tasted good pricey but worth the money to give you idea we ordered two cocktails and two beers which came to £45.The main attraction I feel for the Heron Tower is the glass lift, you will know what I mean once you have been there.

The cocktails here were very nice (strong!) and the bar staff will make any cocktail you wish. However they are £13 a cocktail with a 12.5% service charge added on top! The views of the city are fantastic though, and we were lucky to get a seat with a view over the gherkin.Great place to visit if you want a nice view and a drink if it is a celebration!

went here for my birthday drinks with my husband/daughter & her partner, even though they work in London we all found this experience a delight, service and views over our lovely city in lights. expensive but worth it.

Au dernier étage d'une tour qui offre une vue exceptionnelle sur Londres. Entrées filtrées au rez-de-chaussée (il faut être majeur), ascenseur en verre qui donne quelques frissons et enfin un lieu magique. Vue, qualité des serveurs, qualité des cocktails, et une ambiance jet set juste ce qu'il faut.Nous avons adoré. A refaire pour un simple apéritif ou un menu.

Went for a birthday meal and would go again every year.Very attentive staff who really made the experience, although the meal was expensive for a menu so limited.You must book in advance as there was a 4 week waiting list when we booked so bare this in mind.Sushi rolls and pork belly where standout dishes. The hot stone meat plates were incredible.Drinks were average in honesty but you have a dozen bars to go to for drinks in and around Heron Tower.

Sushisamba and Duck & Waffle are two restaurants on the high floors of the Heron Tower. They are all connected by staircase so you can easily visit all three. I would highly suggest getting a booking at one of the two restaurants, more when there is daylight, to take in the wonderful sites and have a good meal. Both restaurants serve good food and provide an excellent ambiance. If you didn't want to eat, you can go to the bar at Sushisamba and enjoy some cocktails and the views. you do have to pay for the view as the prices are higher, but it is understandable. I would recommend avoiding both during Friday and Saturday without a dining booking as it would be very busy and you might be stuck waiting in a queue outside to get in.

Went for lunch in Sushi Samba, service was over the top servile and lacked substance as my food arrived 10 minutes after my partners main course and the wine arrived after I'd finished my meal. Food is expensive for something average, you are paying for the view and we got a view over East London so nothing special. I recommend you sit in the bar, have a cocktail and look out over the City, that really is special, then go to a good restaurant for dinner.

We were fortunate enough to get a table in the outdoor terrace area and it was lovely to have cocktails overlooking London. Before leaving we went up to the top floor and the views are fantastic, the Thames from so high looks like a stream almost. This is definitely a place for the "beautiful people" and judging by the attitude of some of the staff they think they are those people too. Strange really that they are serving rather than being waited upon then. It was an experience but one I would not repeat.

A fantastic ride up the lift with fabulous views and then I walk into this so called iconic venue to meet the unhappy unhelpful miserable bar staff which made me want to jump back on that lift. It's a real shame, a very odd atmosphere void of any real character and for the very pricey drinks I personally would expect so much more. A group of us had to wait nearly 20 minutes in the relatively empty downstairs bar for one of the four bar staff members to be polite enough to make eye contact and ask us if we wanted a drink. Please someone train these people, sure they can smile and be engaging I would rather have mediocre cocktails with great service - maybe send them to Be At One for some insight. Greats views but there are lots more friendly rooftop places to go in London these days...

It's a great place to go to if you have some guests visiting London as the view of the city is really good (provided you manage to get a seat by the window). I'm really disappointed with the general atmosphere in there though...There's just some spark missing. Maybe it's because of the music they play (quite heavy and annoying type of music) and miserable staff. No one smiles at you and the service is rather poor. Adding the ridiculously overpriced drinks with 12.5% service charge! (for just pouring a tiny glass of wine that costs 10 pounds itself) even though you order at the bar as no one really bothers to bring your drinks to the table. Really annoyed at this place. It has a potential to be really amazing with the right management, staff etc.

Great drinks list, amazing views...book in advance as it is always busy. there are two or three restaurants with different cuisines in each. Be sure to ask for a table close to the windows so you can enjoy the views of London

I went to Sushi Samba with my mother and sister for dinner. At enter you are guided to a elevator which will bring you almost to the top. Beautiful view from the restaurant, and places outside as well. Food is delicious but very expensive. The staff was very kind and our food was brought very quickly. Only disatvantages I could find about this restaurant were the prices, and two other things; One of the staff spoiled water on our food/table while fulling the glasses. Not very nice, but we didn't complain. I was also almost offered a Chicken Heart instead of Chicken Teriyaki. The blinds went down as well, blocking the sunlight which I thought was comfortable. Great place to get a good view over London and to eat Sushi. The tube isn't far away. Definitely recommended.

Wir waren im Heron Tower, um abends entspannt einen Cocktail trinken zu gehen. Bereits an den Fahrstühlen wird man unten von freundlichem Personal empfangen. Der Fahrstuhl ist ganz aus Glas und schon die Fahrt in den ca. 40. Stock ist toll. Oben angekommen, empfängt einen eine tolle Atmossphäre, die Preise für die Cocktails liegen bei a ca. 14 Pfund. Der tolle Ausblick auf den Finanzdistrikt und auf die Tower Bridge im Hintergrund ist es wert!

If you are afraid of heights this is not for you... The glass elevator takes you to the 40th floor in roughly 5 seconds (losing your stomach in the way!).Gorgeous views and lovely bars and restaurants at the top (quite pricey to eat and drink but nice as a novelty)

Superb meal at the Duck and Waffle, interesting cocktails in the bar and the view........just amazing.

We went to London for my husbands birthday. We wanted to go to the sky garden but when we got there it was closed due to maintenance. We stumbled across the heron tower whilst looking for a birds eye view of London. There was a receptionist at the front entrance and we asked if we could go up the tower to look at the view. Amazingly she let us go up to the top floor bar. We were wearing jeans and trainers and looked generally haggard and scruffy and definitely not the clientele that should be allowed into a place like that. Everyone else up there were in suits or dresses. But despite feeling like a pair of chavs, it was warm and beautiful up there. The view was amazing and London looked lovely in the snow. The lift up was brilliant and so quick! I would recommend it. Beware though 1 cocktail costs the same price as 3 meals at weatherspoonsWe ordered what we thought was a coffee for £5 each. It was actually a tiny expresso going by a different name. I think we were only allowed up because it was snowing and there was virtually no-one about but it was worth it for the view and the lift! Excellent for view decor and lift, poor for prices

We went to the 40th floor bar for a pre-lunch drink with the hope of a fab atmosphere and surroundings and a great view. You can definitely get a good view, but the seating is a bit awkward to get the view from certain seats. The 39th floor was closed off so you couldn't wander downstairs for a better view. The décor is shabby-chic (if you like that kind of thing), but otherwise unremarkable and not too exciting. We had a cocktail and a glass of champers each (4 drinks in total) which came to short of £70. Not sure it was really worth it.

Ayant vécu à Londres 1 an, c'était mon QG autant pour boire un verre que pour y manger. Les plats y sont parfaitement exécutés, les sushis vous propulsent au 7 ème ciel simplement !J'y retourne chaque année. Prix élevés.

Tour superbe, en verre avec un ascenseur extérieur qui mène aux différents restaurants, bars et bureaux. Evidemment vue superbe sur Londres et la Tamise.

Everything about our lunch was perfect; from drinks on the terrace taking in the amazing London city views to every single bite of food we ate. Every course was full of flavour and presented beautifully. Staff were attentive but not intrusive and this was a really lovely lunch

Fabulous birthday celebration at sushi samba on 38th floor overlooking surrounding streets of Bishopsgate. Started with cocktails on the open air terrace then into the restaurant for excellent starters , salt and pepper squid, succulent pork belly, tempura prawns all delicious. Followed by a selection of sushi rolls, and finished off with mouth watering desserts the best being the chili chocolate.

We (party of three) ate here recently. Great views. Food is good but portions - as expected - small. I dont think it's the kind of place to come for a slap up meal. Prices reflected the rarified air we were eating in and the staff were very friendly, polite and well drilled. I would come back, but more for the experience than the food per se.

We had an amazing dinner here at Sushi Samba. The food was innovative & delicious and the views were amazing (we came during sunset on a beautiful day). What made the experience 5 * was the friendliness of the staff. Very down to earth and knowledgeable. Refreshing for a top London restaurant. Can't wait to be back.

Very disappointed with the lack of service and staff. As we entered the bar no one to greet, show you to a seat as people were spread out, therefore we had to ask a couple if we could sit down as had their coats and bags on the two pouffe's. We waited to be served girl brought a menu over never saw her again. In the meantime I went over to the bar or island where waiter was making drinks to ask if I can order he rudely said go sit down I'll send my colleague over! After waiting 10 minutes we walked out and made our way to the Hampshire Leicester Square where we were seated in a comfy armchair and service impeccable with lovely ambience.

Went here for a sunday eve drink...was wonderful views and great opportunity for photos etc yet the cocktails were over priced for what they were and if honest didnt taste wonderful..also ordered a cocktail at 15 pounds then they said within 5 mins of buying it that they are closing so wasted a whole cocktail and was ushered out . So had one sip of my drink..had to leave the rest .was not happy at all!!!

cocktail waitress not very experienced npt as described and very watery advised her of this but she did nothing £29 for substandard drinks lift an experience view pk maybe more atmospheric at night staff friendly

The bar was busy in the early evening when we were there but the views were visible from all sides. A place to take your visitors for a memorable experience.

I've been up the empire state, chrystler building, eiffel tower, and a couple of unpronounceable towers in Bangkok. I have to say the lift to get you to the top of this gives the best view! I went quite late at night, but the lights of London were great, looking forward to trying it in the day.There were no balconys open for me to smoke on so it was a pleasure to keep having to travel to street level and back again.

The Heron building bar perched 40 floors up above the city of London. Ride the exterior glass elevator in seconds to experience spectacular views over London. The bar is intimate with very friendly and quick sevice albeit expensive, however you are primarily paying for the ambience and view. Good selection of international wines and beers. I recommend the experience if you have a few hours to spare. Close to Liverpool street station and tube.

Well worth a visit for a few drinks, we visited around 11pm on a Friday and there was a short queue (probably waited 10 mins) to enter. The lift up is cool as you can see out across London as you go up. They ensure that the actual venue does not get over crowded and it was pretty easy to get a drink, although the prices were high (we expected this though). The views are fantastic across London at night and make this place worth a visit. we couldn't get a table to eat this time, but we will hopefully return to eat in Sushi Samba at some point

The elevator ride up to Sushi Samba had my heart in my mouth . I felt like Charlie and the chocolate factory may have done in the great glass elevator. Still when we arrived at the restaurant the small bar was buzzing with people and we grabbed a beer and went out to the outdoor terrace , Good views to say the least . Dinner was pretty typical Japanese food . Well executed and with an attentive and informative service to boot . Its mid range to expensive in terms of cost but worth a visit even to admire the fantastic dining room and superb views across the city of London

Have been to both duck and waffle as well as sushi samba.A great place to go for views of London. The open air place to drink is fantastic. The food at both places is limited on vegetarian options and I would urge the managers to introduce more options just because you guys are so creative. All the same a place worth going to - don't go without reservations.

I'd recommend to go there at least once. The lift ride is awe some, with a nice view on the city. The bar is ok, the cocktail prices are high but still worth the view. you can look on Gherkin from the top.

Good choice and quality of sushi in an amazing setting with amazing views. Very busy and noisy but the atmosphere works out well, trendy and fun also just for a drink. Lively ambience for a quick bight.

Hands down the best spot to have a good look at my beloved city of London. Drinks are alright, nothing crazy or out of this world in Sushi Samba but hey what is there to complain if you have the most fantastic view.

Die Aussicht ist echt genial Und nahe der Tube station Liverpool street. Für leute die London als "touristen" besuchen, echt empfehlenswert. Die leute Sind ganz ok. Das wars auch schon.

Ok , so the buzz starts looking up from the pavement , the sheer height is awesome and then the external lift ride is breath taking , faster than the speed of light , its like a fairground ride . Taking you to the start of the next chapter. The outside bar in the summer brings in a varied clientele , city workers in their suits , tourists with their maps and the GP who wish to sample the relaxed superb atmosphere . So outside is buzzy and inside more relaxed , waiting for tables and a seat by the window . WHAT A VIEW ! Probably for me the best in London . You have to be there to believe it , I was lucky enough to get there late afternoon , so daylight views then the magic of night . So the food menu fusion great for me as I like the choice service was a little so but that's down to the success of the restaurant and whilst not cheap it is a top place to eat and well worth it . A must even just for a drink but bring an over draught .

I had lunch at Sushi Samba on Boxing day and I really liked it.The view was amazing and the restaurant really cool, I also enjoyed the food they serve.The staff was nice but they do not know really well the dishes: I asked the waiter ( who was really kind indeed) to recommend me something not containing Avocado, since I do not like it, and I ended up with a Temaki that did contain Avocado. No matter I could remove it and my Temaki was good anyway .

Visited the roof top bar Sushi samba on 38th floor with a few business colleagues. It was early evening just before Christmas and the place was bustling.The views over London are spectacular!We didn't eat but being able to observe the chefs at work was an education in itself. I watched them fillet the largest piece of tuna I has ever seen.The bar is very expensive. From mind it was about £8 for a small bottle of beer. Having said that you are in a prime location at the best city in the world! (and it was Christmas)

A nice way to see London. We went up for a meal at Sushisamba and really enjoyed seeing the city from a different angle.

Went with all the family for my daughter's 25th lunch on a Sunday. Busy, busy!The experience starts with a speedy glass lift/elevator ride to the top area of the Heron Tower in the city of London. Very cool!There is a more casual bar diner area for drinks/snacks, and an outside area also where we took some photos. The main dining area is very modern but with comfortable seating. We managed to seat 7 on a soft sofa/banquette arrangement around a round table. The main business is the food: fantastic, in a word. I've eaten in some good restaurants.The food here was beautifully presented (but not stupidly arty farty) and worth trying each component part and then combining them, as the tastes are fantastic.Please note that some activists are moaning about the use of foie gras in this restaurant. I may get trolled for this, but it was delicious. We had mostly fish/veg dishes and everyone was well satisfied.The price is what you would expect for a special occasion in a fabulous location.

Both Sushi Samba on 38th floor and Duck and Waffle on 40th are well worth the trip top..for cocktails. Expensive, but after all you are paying for the views, and they are indeed wonderful. The bar area is not large, so go around 5-7pm for cocktails.Just the experience in the glass lift seconds... it unbelievable
