The Ivy Asia St Paul's in City of London, Westminster

We booked the Ivy Asia - St Paul’s for my son’s birthday. Lovely venue with fabulous views of St Paul’s, stunning interior. Unfortunately, the music was so loud it spoiled our experience, it was like a night club. We visited at 12:45pm so I didn’t think the music would have been quite so loud but there was a DJ there playing music, so table conversation was almost impossible The food was lovely - we had the small plates, interesting dishes of prawns, chicken, barbecued duck etc and service was good - unfortunately the waiter spilled the chilli oil on my husband’s trousers but the manager was good enough to give us a round of drinks off the bill - but only after we asked for it. I had read the reviews about the loud music and genuinely thought it wouldn’t affect us at 1pm on a Saturday afternoon, but I was wrong. Be warned that the music is really, really loud and ruins any ambience/conversation. I’m afraid we won’t be visiting the Ivy Asia again and I think we would have had a better value meal in a different restaurant

Firstly, the decor is of course stunning in the restaurant. The food was very good - spicy lobster, duck & lychee rice, sushi, gyoza. For the dessert menu, there were a lot of unusual choices and nothing caught my attention that much. Service was very good. The music was way too loud honestly there is no need to have music that loud in a restaurant at 5pm on a Sunday. It’s on the pricier side and I think there’s better places to go at this price point.

I love the Ivy Asia interior design looking very oriental. I love the food, very taste and the layout of each dish. A nice place to eat at either after work or on the weekends with friends.

Locale molto bello, ben arredato, cucina buona, presentazione dei piatti fatta bene , servizio al tavolo buono, staff molto gentile . I tavoli sono un po’ piccoli, noi eravamo in tre e avevamo un tavolo per due persone. La pecca è che non abbiamo potuto prendere il dessert e il caffè poiché abbiamo dovuto alzarci visto che a loro serviva il tavolo per altri clienti . Quindi se ci andate dovete pranzare o cenare velocemente. Comunque lo consiglio.

Had been to Manchester Ivy Asia a few times before and always had a fabulous experience, thought we would try Leeds Visited late afternoon(5pm) Surroundings and ambience were lovely. It was nice and quiet and the service was great. We had the 6 course set menu. Fantastic value and the food was incredible Would definitely recommend We left by 7pm, which I’m glad we did as the music level was loud and felt almost like a night club.

First visit and wasn’t disappointed. We had the brunch menu which was excellent value for high class, tasty food and excellent service. The restaurant is lovely too. So pretty and plenty of photo opportunities-even the toilets are photogenic!! We tried the brunch recommended cocktails and the bubble tea cocktails. I was quite disappointed with the bubble tea one, made more difficult to drink with a paper straw. The food is 3 course-sharing starter and pudding. The starter was a bit of a let down, perhaps my ignorance but I thought a wonton was a crispy filled package-their wontons were more like nachos. Main and pudding delicious. Star lost for being asked if we wanted water and being brought a bottle of £5 table water. No need to be sneaky, I would never EVER pay for water in this way and both tables beside had free water. Make this clear please when you ask. I’ve told all my friends about here as well as telling them about the water charge if they do go!! I’d like to return to try the bigger menu!

Really enjoyed our night out at the Ivy Asia St Pauls. Live DJ pumping out what is actually very decent house music, a view of the Cathedral (if you were lucky). Beautiful, oriental style decor with cherry blossom everywhere. We had the set menu and weren't disappointed. Looking forward to going back. Worth noting that on a Saturday night it is something between a restaurant and nightclub. The music is so loud you have to lip read. Vibrant energetic night out. Possibly not for the elderly or hard of hearing.

Best experience yet !! Me and my friend have been coming here for the last 2 years to celebrate each of our birthdays. This was our 6th visit and the best one yet the waitress EMMA was amazing and so lovely and accommodating. Always had a smile on her face which makes a better experience. The food is always absolutely delicious.

Our waiter Josh was fabulous ! We went to celebrate our ten year anniversary and we weren’t disappointed . Ambience beautiful ….. good amazing ! We will be back !

We were a party of 5 having lunch for two 50th birthdays and if was all lovely until a waiter came up to us and said we need your table back, we’ve given you an hour past your allotted time?! Not once were we told we had to be gone by a certain time. This was 4pm and the restaurant was more than half empty, we’d spent over £600 and were enjoying the ambiance and anticipated staying for longer and purchasing more wine but we all got up and left and went to Madison’s and spent our money there.

Overcharged at Ivy Asia St Paul’s I attended ivy Asia with 5 members of my family on 09/05/24 and was overcharged for food we didn’t order or receive. I simply want to provide my bill as proof but cannot get a response from them. I have contacted Ivy Asia once through Facebook, three times via their website contact portal and once using their chat bot. I have not received a reply. Disgraceful customer service. Impossible to get a response from them. . Please contact me so I can explain and provide a copy of the receipt. Alternatively, please sent me an email address so I can make a formal complaint.

Go to OKA Chelsea. The Asia-Pacific food is far more superior quality than The Ivy which was really terrible. I/we had the most awful and disappointing tasting Asian food I have ever tasted. Sorry to say this. Absolutely awful and if you were not in such an overtly decorated restaurant trying so hard to be glamorous you would get up and leave.

First impressions count and here they were very good. Tyhe trippy glass floor and the warm welcome was a greta start. The menu at first glance looked a bit sparse with little in the way of noodle dishes in particular. We went with the set menus plus a couple of extra dishes. It was all excellent in terms of both quality and quantity. One of our party has extreme allergies, intolerant to many things. The staff were fantastic with him, making special adaptations of various dishes to accomodate him. The only small complaint I would make is that with multi dished meals like this the table becomes very quickly overcrowded, the waiters seemed a bit haphazard with how they dealt with this and more than once we took control to avoid being swampoed with empty and half empty plates. Overwise it was a 5 start experience.

Went here for a special occasion was turned away because we were half an hour early, eventually let in 15 minutes later than our allocated time, Customer service was very poor, food was ok , definitely won't be going back

We booked a 1 pm lunchtime slot at The Ivy Asia. We ordered a variety of food to share between 5. The Korean chicken was excellent, salads were great, duck curry not so great ( bland and overlooked duck). However, the service really let things down - we had a surly waiter who came over periodically and grunted ‘alright?’ but didn’t ask if we wanted more drinks or top up the table’s water. Rather than poor a small amount of wine he poured the whole bottle out at one time which meant the wine grew warm quickly. After we finished the food, it took a long time for the table to be cleared and for the waiter to bring a dessert menu. We ordered and after 5 minutes were told our table was needed in the next 10 mins for the next diners. we were made to move mid dessert and coffee to the bar where we then sat awkwardly in a line of 5. To add insult to injury we were charged 15% service. while I understand that restaurants book more than one sitting. i find it completely unacceptable that we were moved mid meal because the waiter / kitchen were slow

Great food and drinks - clearly not the cheapest but you get what you pay for. Staff were attentive, but we were rushed out after just 1hr20. The booking said 1hr45. Considering we spent over £200+, we felt this was a sour way to end what would have been a 5star visit. After we said we would finish our drink, our waitress came over with the card machine to force the issue. This is no way to treat guests paying a premium, especially if you want people to return

Lovely setting and fabulous food, my friend and I shared 6 plates. Pork belly was beautifully cooked and sesame toasts amazing. Would definitely go again

Good food wonderful view and decor but music at 90 /100 db… and it is not Paul Desmond or Chet Baker… if you want to eat in the center of a discotheque floor room it is your place..

Really busy vibrant venue for all ages. Fantastic music and beautiful decor, absolutely stunning! The food is lovely and tastes great and the cocktails are brilliant ! Service was friendly and very efficient, the staff work hard here and deserve their tips! One of my favourite venues, will definitely come again! 😀

We arrived at 13.15 for our booking. Where told to wait at the bottom of the stairs amidst a growing queue of people booked for 13.15. After 10 minutes we were called upstairs and instructed to sit at the bar - no table available and we could not be told when we could be seated. Had to prompt them to offer us a complimentary drink. After a total of 20 minutes we were seated. From then on things improved significantly. The service was good and the food was lovely.

Once you work out the menu and when the food arrives it was delicious and tasty. Portions are small but we as a group all shared starters and mains Dessert was good too. The restaurant has a nice decor and good views but is let down by the staff in the foyer . We arrived 10 minutes early and had to wait on in the foyer for about 20 minutes and the foyer got crowded with no seating. No apology or updates

Nel mio ultimo soggiorno a Londra ho prenotato, in due sere successive, due cene in ristoranti della Ivy Collection. Purtroppo il ricordo della meravigliosa serata passata all’Ivy di West Street è stato annullato dalla brutta esperienza del giorno successivo all’Ivy Asia St. Pauls, che definire pessima mi sembra quasi un eufemismo. Avevamo la prenotazione alle ore 20.15 e ci siamo presentati qualche minuto prima dell’orario previsto. Siamo stati accolti alla reception del piano terra ed invitati ad attendere, assieme a diverse altre persone già in attesa. Dopo circa 20 minuti di attesa siamo stati invitati a salire al piano superiore, e nuovamente invitati ad attendere al bar. Ora io non capisco perché un cliente che prenota all’Ivy Asia ha una “grace period” di 10 minuti sulla propria prenotazione, passato tale tempo la prenotazione viene cancellata e passata ad altri clienti, mentre il ristorante può fare i propri comodi verso il cliente che ha prenotato ad uno specifico orario e accomodarlo anche 30 minuti oltre l’orario prenotato. Altro elemento di disappunto era che mentre eravamo al bar in attesa del nostro tavolo abbiamo visto diverse altre coppie di clienti, arrivati al ristorante molto dopo di noi, essere accompagnati al loro tavolo, mentre noi eravamo abbandonati al bar. Ho provato a far notare la cosa ad una delle ragazze della reception, la quale rispondendomi in modo rude ci ha invitato ad “attendere il nostro turno” (peccato solo che il nostri turno fosse prima di loro). Dopo quasi 30 minuti dall’orario della nostra prenotazione siamo finalmente stati accompagnati al nostro tavolo, forse il peggior tavolo del locale, sull’angolo della vetrata, vicino ai bagni e in una zona talmente buia che per riuscire a leggere il menù abbiamo dovuto usare la funzione torcia del cellulare. La musica a volume altissimo, forse più adatta ad una discoteca che ad un locale che si vuole atteggiare a ristorante di alto livello, rendeva impossibile qualsiasi forma di interazione comunicativa sia tra noi che con i camerieri. Nulla da dire per il cibo, di buon livello, pur se a prezzi di stellato Michelin, e neppure per la scenograficità del locale, con i suoi pavimenti luminosi e i suoi raffinati arredi, ma questo non è stato sufficiente a rendere memorabile, o quantomeno decente, la “customer experience”, anche perché il servizio al tavolo è stato abbastanza scadente: ad un certo punto abbiamo ad esempio provato a chiedere le forchette per mangiare la tartare di salmone, che era abbastanza liquida e impossibile da prendere con le bacchette, ma queste sono arrivate dopo 15 minuti. Il disappunto per la pessima esperienza ci ha spinto a interrompere la cena dopo solo un paio di portate e a decidere di riprenderla in un altro locale della zona, dove poi ci siamo sentiti veramente accolti da ospiti e non come polli da spennare. Ero indeciso se rifiutare la “service charge” obbligatoria del 13,5% che viene aggiunta al conto, ma poi per evitare altre discussioni e perdere altro tempo in questo locale la ho lasciata. In conclusione è un locale ideale per tiktoker o instagrammer di basso livello, sicuramente incompetenti del buon mangiare, ma pronti a mettersi in mostra accanto tanti improbabili VIP e a farsi ingannare dalle lucine a dalla elegante scenografia preparata per loro. La cucina di alto livello, non necessariamente stellata, è purtroppo tutta altra cosa.

First time here and had an amazing time! Food is expensive but worth it. The setting is really so beautiful with stunning views and a warm welcome from the staff.

We went as a family of 8 for my husbands 70th Birthday on Sunday. Had a good table overlooking St Pauls. I have been to this restaurant a few times and my daughter uses it for business lunches. This time I was not impressed with the waiting staff one who tried to upsell the champage Verve Cliquot when I had ordered the House. My Blackened Cod with Miso was overdone and dry. The waiting staff were unfriendly and abrupt and the music was way too loud we could not have a descent conversation! I did ask for it to be turned down but they said it was up to the management. It is a shame because during the week it is a completely different atmosphere.

Service is absolutely terrible! Non existent! Twenty minutes waiting for a bottle of wine! Spent the entire dinner trying to get some service! Go elsewhere. There are tons of better places !

Went as a party of four in Good Friday. Leeds Ivy Asia. Unfortunately Leeds was not as good. Was absolutely packed so busy. Tables not running to time. Took twenty mins to take drinks order. Food was good, but only like warm. Waitress was abrupt and brought a dish we didn’t order but snapped at me and insisted I did. Then turned away and stormed off. This dish was still charged for on the bill until we pointed this out. There was a dirty knife sharpener side up dropped in a plant pot. Just generally a disappointment.

Booked the Ivy Asia and I was very excited. The decor inside is amazing as are the staff and there is alot of them. The reason I gave the score as average is because the menu is confusing and all this you get it as we cook it rubbish. Yes I am old not one of these trendy generation yz s but I want starters altogether first and then mains. As for the rest of it yes the food is good, small portions but good, the view of St Paul's was amazing and the DJ was playing dodgy house.

Not our first time and definitely will not be our last. Everytime I visit London with the family we make our trip to Ivy Asia and enjoy every moment of it, from the Hostesses to the waiters, the chefs, the bartenders, all highly trained and pleasant. The decor is out of this world with an amazing Jade illuminated floor. Amazing Samurai Surprise in the men's toilets, my sons are still scared. Food is unbelievable, amazing Lamb Chops, Amazing food, Amazing deserts... Ivy Asia, Never Change... L'Ambiance c'est Magnifique. Bravo

Wonderful afternoon out at IVY ASIA. Food as always was amazing and the service was also brilliant. The set menu was excellent value for money. The place was buzzing with a great atmosphere.

Incredible ambience, great wine list but table not ready when we arrived, service all over the place - waiting staff just kept on forgetting what you’d asked them to get - and for the money the food was mediocre at best. Beautifully presented with great theatre but ultimately, just not that great to eat. Between four of us we had both veg and non-veg tasting menus so it’s not even as if we ordered poorly - we sampled a huge range of things from the menu. An interesting experience and a fun place to be, it’s far more about the sense of occasion than the food. Disappointed.

A rare visit to London to meet a friend culminated in lunch at this amazing restaurant. From the friendly greeting at the door from the liveried gentleman, to the stunning decor, to the efficient cloakroom and table check-in, we were very impressed. The first floor restaurant, beautifully decorated and with an unparalleled view of St Paul's was delightful and our waitress Sadia was charming. The food was absolutely on point. We enjoyed every mouthful. Highly recommended.

Booking was at 5pm. Arrived at 4.30 to go to bar for a cocktail. Receptionist didn’t smile & wasn’t welcoming; advised that the bar was full and we would have to come back at the time of our table booking. When we came back to the other entrance it was the same welcome - why no smile? Straight to table were told - although there were only 3 people at the bar. Service wasn’t great and rice didn’t arrive. Overall the food was good but this was not a quality experience.

Everything was really delicious and interesting. All the food was served quite fast. The service was just on point. Thank you Amber for being so attentive. Definitely recommend and will go again!

Sadly not a great experience this time! Visited this afternoon at 4pm with a gifted £100 voucher. Brought friends on their first time here as we’ve been several times before but in the evening. On arrival girls on reception very unorganised and talking amongst them selves and took a while to take our coats and get us seated. Late sitting us at our table and waitress too our order. We’ve been several times before so know the procedure. Food came up on the wrong order. Mains came up for 3 of us but the 4th person in our party didn’t get their meal until 20 minutes later, our waitress kept going up to ask where meal was but it wasn’t until we called the manager it got sorted and even then he tried to make an excuse and Compare the service to Wagamama where it came up when it was ready. I’m sorry but when we’re paying £150 a head I don’t expect Wagamama service! Shifts changed and I spoke to the next shift Manager who then blamed our waitress! Shame on you Ivy Asia this was a kitchen problem. Anyway, it ruined our night with no money off for the inconvenience. £390 between 4 of us and a poor service. Always loved it there but sadly don’t think we’ll be back!!!

I been there for a birthday occasion with my girlfriend. It was very busy night and we had to wait 10 to 15 mins for the table even though we had a booking. Which was not very big deal for us because they let us sit somewhere next to the bar and we had drinks in the meantime. After we were seated and our waitress came. Her name is Loreley she was incredibly friendly and has good knowledge of the food and the menu. We didn’t have an idea what to order but her recommendations were pretty good and we really enjoyed it. I would like to thank her for the service she made my girlfriend’s day.
