The best restaurants serving Japanese food in East Midlands

I didn't enjoy the food, it had no good taste.

Had serious allergies so I specifically stated which ingredients I can’t have and was confirmed to me that these ingredients won’t be present in the meal I ordered and was wrongly informed by a member of staff which resulted in me eating a meal which had ingredients we were allergic to and instead of apologising was treated unprofessionally, ‘scoffed’ and laughed at by the supervisor when raised as an issue. The supervisor then proceeded to deny their colleague ever misinformed me. I’m very disappointed and offended by the unprofessionalism from this establishment around taking this matter serious as it is a serious issue and will be taking this further. Looking at other reviews and seeing other people have had similar issues a while back I can see that not a lot has changed and I highly recommend not to visit if you have allergens vegan/vegetarian or can’t eat certain meat etc as not only is there not a lot of options but if a mistake ever happens the professionalism and apology which you would see in other establishments is not there extremely immature staff

Been here a few times over the years. Do not order a pizza or you will be waiting too long. Everything else is tasty though 😛

MAL SERVICIO AL CLIENTE. Preguntó por salmón teriyaki y claramente señaló el huevo arroz frito. Pagué y cuando miré mi comida vi que era con arroz hervido. Fui a preguntar si podía cambiar esto y la señora fue grosera y dijo que pidió hervir. Dije que no, no me gusta hervir, claramente señalé el arroz frito con huevo. De todos modos, la señora que servía me iba a cobrar otras 5 libras solo para corregir el arroz que claramente fue su error. Me alejé y no volveré. Señora sirviendo claramente carece de habilidades de servicio al cliente!

I visited very late, 9.30pm ish. There were 3 other customers in the whole place and 3 waiting staff on duty. The floor in front of the food prep area was littered with receipt tabs, pieces of paper, napkins etc. The staff were boxing up food into the take-away containers right next to all of the mess but didn't clean it up in the half hour I was in there. Food was good as always. Service was quick and efficient

La comida y el personal general estaban bien, sin embargo, después de haber pagado por nuestra comida y salir, el gerente vino corriendo tras nosotros y en medio de la calle nos acusó de no pagar por nuestra comida y salir. Le corrigí y le dije que habíamos pagado a otro miembro del personal que había recibido el pago. En esto sólo parecía confundido y se fue, sin disculpas ni nada ... Al gerente, como algunos comentarios generales puedo recomendar que compruebe los hechos antes de agotar los clientes que pagan en el futuro!

¡Los peores Waga del planeta! ¡Somos una familia que ama Waga’s pero Leicester es un verdadero agujero! Está sucio, desordenado, la comida no está ni cerca del estándar de Waga’s normales. Ninguna de las comidas es el estándar de ningún otro Waga que he visitado. Desafortunadamente para nosotros, este es nuestro Waga local y también es deficiente por mucho ¡Lo único bueno de este restaurante es Michael! ¡Fin de! Necesito aprender a dejar de venir aquí ya que es basura

Un vacío sin alma con un servicio al cliente espantoso. Los empleadores no han aprendido los conceptos básicos de cómo tratar a los clientes.

Have wanted to try this place for a while, finally got to try it today, walked in on the off chance and was lucky as we didn't have a reservation but there was space for the 3 of us. Straight forward to order and the waitress was patient and helpful explaining our options. Food came fairly promptly, we could hear it getting made and was piping hot when arrived to the table. Our only gripe was the mains seemed to taste a little bland over the starters there was just something a little lacking. Tempura batter seemed quite heavy too, it didn't have the light crunchy texture we were expecting. I'd say the pricing was a touch higher than expected but id say that's just more of a sign of the times right now. All in all we would come again, but more for an occasion rather than just cause we're around town.

Vinimos a almorzar el día de Nueva York y había llamado por adelantado y me dieron la bienvenida. Comemos MUCHO. Es un pasatiempo. De todas formas, me sentí más como si hubiera vagado en un evento familiar como + 1 , así de amable y acogedor era el personal. Fueron conversacionales, muy amables con nuestros hijos, nos dieron recomendaciones personalizadas sobre lo que era genial pedir. El servicio fue tan grande, fue memorable y como dije, comemos mucho. ¡Gracias por un encantador almuerzo de un día en Nueva York con nuestros hijos!

I can honestly say this has been the best Indian cuisine I've ever tasted, and my husband said the same. We live in Leicester, so we're used to eating Indian food regularly too. Big pieces of meat and cooked so well. Delicious sauces and rice too. Such good value for how nice the food is. Friendly staff too. I have no hesitation in recommending this place.

Food was amazing, bottomless sushi & Japanese sides were really great value for money. Service was great, would come again.

Went here and I have to say the food was disappointing one main came out way before everything else and the ramen and gyozas were tasteless and watery.The crispy chicken was a standout dish for me and was by far the best thing on the table and the katsu chicken was also great. Service was also very good just a shame about the food unfortunately I won’t be coming back

Vine a escuchar para celebrar un cumpleaños de amigos después de escuchar buenas críticas sobre la comida, por desgracia este no era el caso para nosotros! Después de esperar una hora para que llegara nuestra comida intenté llamar la atención de uno de los miembros del personal sin embargo continuó ignorándome, me dio contacto visual y luego se alejó. Más tarde, nos presentaron un filete frío de piedra que fue extremadamente decepcionante después de esperar más de una hora y pagar £ 28 por solo un filete! Lo que nos llevó a enviarlo de vuelta donde tuvimos que esperar 30 minutos más. Dentro de este tiempo nuestras patatas fritas de sal y pimienta llegaron tibias con uno de mis amigos siendo piedra fría. Aunque una señora (que parecía ser el gerente) fue muy comprensivo de esto y le proporcionó a mi amigo unas patatas fritas calientes de cortesía. Mientras tanto, nuestro filete llegó esta vez caliente, aunque no era medio raro, como le pregunté, era más bien un medio - bien hecho, pero sentimos que no podíamos quejarnos más. Así que terminamos comiéndolo, ya que nos moríamos de hambre después de esperar más de una hora y media. (Se podría pensar que la larga espera se debió a que estaba ocupado, pero era muy falta de ambiente, y solo eran algunas otras mesas). Para colmo cuando llegó la factura (la rubia) vino una cruz como completamente arrogante y grosera después de enterarse de la pobre experiencia que habíamos recibido. Estábamos muy decepcionados ya que se suponía que esta era una noche encantadora.
