The quality of the food leaves a lot to be desired, as well as the sushi pieces, poorly made and with too much rice. We ordered the buffet option which in my opinion is too expensive. They also gave us pieces of sushi that we DID NOT order, which were inedible due to their bad taste, since we couldn't even eat them. They charge you an additional fee for the service, which you can choose not to pay since it is optional. When we told the waiter who served us, his attitude was terrible and unpleasant. I do not recommend it because it is not worth it in terms of quality-price.

All started well with a friendly greeting and explanation of menu options, albeit confusing. Go to order, then to be told it's not table service but I have to order online and can only order every 15 minutes through a QR code, and only so many items, so gave up. I don't work here, I am your guest awaiting service. Talking of poor service, you charge a mandatory service charge and don't even provide any service. Joke of an establishment, do Nottingham a favour and close up.

Nice atmosphere with very patient and polite staff (we had a massive party of about 20) that where happy to help and understanding while we split the bill up. Their half price menu contains some of the best sushi I've ever had at a great price. Also great for vegis, three people with me where vegetarian and they had no troubles picking out food.

Overall very good, my second time here. Once mid week for lunch and this time on a Saturday for an evening meal. Very busy and waited around 45 minutes for a table. I would recommend booking in advance to avoid the wait. Ate from the buffet both times and the food was very good as it's made to order. There's the restrictions on the amount per order which reset every 15 minutes and a fee if you don't eat dishes. All fair enough and so long as you don't seriously over egg it you'll be fine. Seating upstairs but a lift makes it accessible. Would come back again.

After waiting for approximately 40 minutes, we were shocked to discover that the sushi and sashimi we ordered had not been served at all. I therefore have a suggestion for Sushimania Nottingham: if you cannot afford the costs associated with offering a bottomless option, it is better to discontinue this service!!! Will never come to this restaurant again, zero star for the service quality!!!

We went to enjoy the 50% off the a la carte menu. As I was ordering I checked with the waitress that it was 50% off the online menu price - she said it was. At the end we were presented with a bill that didn’t have 50% off and we were told the menu already included it. The waitress presenting the bill said ‘we have a lot of new staff’ - unacceptable!!!! That would have made our lunch bill including drinks £220 for 3 of us. It’s an absolute con. That would have made the blackened cod circa £25 and it wasn’t even nice! The rest of the food was good but certainly not worth that amount of money!! Very disappointed - we certainly won’t be going back! We could have eaten in a far nicer place for that cost! Avoid …..

Booked and table ready for us. None of us eat shellfish and one of us is vegetarian. There were molluscs in most dishes that a vegetarian would normally choose in this type of restaurant. The waiter was very helpful getting out allergen menu to see which dishes had molluscs in them but there really was nothing left for us to eat so we left. Don't go if you're vegan/vegetarian or if you don't eat shellfish.

I spent more than 100 pounds here today. We initially talked about eating the buffet and when we ordered the second round of meals, we ordered the half-price menu. However, we were not informed in advance about the category and didn’t know what it was. We realized what happened to the second round of meals. The price was one by one, so I immediately called the waiter to ask why. Then the waiter looked at it and said that I had ordered the half-price menu, so I asked to cancel. Then a dish was served that was on the half-price menu. We asked for a refund, and then the waiter told the manager I called, but the manager really didn't have any service attitude. He was very arrogant and rude. He said he couldn't refund after ordering. We said that we had not even touched this dish, but the waiter had already realized why there was a separate price on it, so we asked the waiter. The manager was adamant and said no refunds could be made and asked us if we wanted to continue eating. I said, "I paid and I don't want to eat?" He said, "You haven't paid yet." Me:? ? ? Can I still leave without paying? ? Furthermore, I didn’t order the wrong thing on purpose. I asked the waiter as soon as I saw the price display. In the end, I didn’t bother to argue with him, so I paid for the other half price of the menu. In the end, we left without touching that dish. I will never go there again. The service attitude is so bad! !

So i used to love sushimania but Im really unsure whats happened to it. The app does not work anymore and you have to use a paper form which is whatever if the staff actually paid attention to us. From sitting down to someone taking our order was 28 minutes. I let the staff no this and i was given a big story about how the card machine where down. Which no one told us earlier so we had to go get cash. I understand they where busy but like just staff the resturant to reflect that. Our mains came before of drinks I asked about our drinks and I was told "well its just busy". There was flies in my friends food she sent it back and got a replacement that was cold making me wonder if they just brought the same one out. We got no apology througout this. We had to ask to take off the service charge from the bill and then we where asked if we needed our change back and they tried to keep this.

We’ve been to Sushimania in Nottingham a few times now for the all you can eat menu. Normally, the food is really good. Service has always been a bit questionable, but tonight has left me feeling like I’ve wasted around £60. First things first - their online ordering system is down, so they’re using a paper form on which you fill in your orders. This isn’t particularly sanitary, handing pieces of paper back and forth between various people, but also, the main issue with this, is that you’re left waiting for a member of staff to come over (which doesn’t happen very often) for your order form to be taken - these are then passed to someone else who inputs the order, and then if you’re lucky, around 30 minutes later, you might get your form back to place another order. If the restaurant had enough staff to deal with a paper ordering system, then this might work well however, they clearly don’t, and so it doesn’t work well at all, you’re just left waiting constantly. We ended up not receiving most of the hot food we ordered - when we mentioned this (multiple times), the staff member walked away and nothing happened. They seem to just bring over whatever they feel like bringing from your order. One of the hot items that did arrive, was a Chicken Gyu stick, which smelt horrendous - on raising this with a staff member, I was told it was fine and she offered to take it away - all I’ll say here is, chicken, under any circumstances, should not smell like vomit - but it did. We asked for our bill, and asked for the service fee to removed, which I don’t think is unreasonable, given the slow service, lack of items arriving, and lack of remedy for that from the staff, I think it’s reasonable to ask that a 10% service fee be removed. We were abruptly asked to give a reason - and we did, all of the above, and nothing was said we were just handed a new bill. Won’t be returning, and wouldn’t recommend to anyone anymore.

I went there twice during my visit of the city. 1st time was worst because I was not giving a free table which I asked for with no reason, I guess they didn't want to open the section as there were not too many people. Then I was refused to have a bottomless option because I was eating alone..... #discrimination.... started not good at all... But then they hooked me to stay because they had half price off offer. I tried many rolls, some nice some less nice. What I didn't like, rolls seams to be not hand rolled but from a machine, they fall apart even before you deep them in soya souce. Smoked salmon was extremely oversalted, I think it's made in house and someone dropped the ball with salt. Original ginger and wasabi is not enough, and as it's not bottomless but order online, it's all extra charge which I think is silly as it's sushi, these items should come with every plate. With half price off I might comeback, with full price it would not be worth at all. More rolls variety with salmon would be my recommendation.

Just called to book for a table for 10 they asked us to pay a £50 deposit which we tried todo.. However, the waiter said their Internet had lost connection. So after i said we will just try and walk in later and he said "you can't because we are fully booked" after i questioned why they needed a deposit then and why he didn't tell us why it was fully booked beforehand. He said they're short staffed and not opening all the tables tonight🤦🏻‍♀️. The manager came on the phone and started calling me honey and darling which i asked her not to! She said I'm aggressive and rude and I'm rude about the way she talks! So she not taking our booking. All i did was question why?? Honestly, if she's a manager she needs further training. I expected a professional individual to take the call not a condescending child. A simple google would show her its not normal to call strangers honey and darling. Your slowly destroying the business.

£24.50 for all you can eat sushi is an OK deal. And in this deal there are good choices to be made. For example the Sashimi is really very good, as is the Katsu Chicken. Some of the offerings are not so good though. The beef and chicken skewers seem to be rather low quality, and some of the sushi rolls are verging on unpleasant. If you're doing the all you can eat even in a big group, only order 1 portion of something you're not sure about, and re-order it later if you enjoyed it. By the time you've had a couple of drinks, your bill will be around £35 per person and if you're in a group there is a 10% service charge added on top of that. The atmosphere here is not ever so relaxing either, the music can be quite loud sometimes. For around £40 it is an OK deal, and if you choose wisely you will enjoy the food. But for £40 you could eat sushi at somewhere like Bonsai in Hockley and get much higher quality food in an overall much nicer atmosphere and still leave full.

Took advantage of their half price menu, and the food was enjoyable enough. Ordered too much Makizushi, turns out I'm not a fan. Katsu curry was great, though, and check out the octopus and the pumpkin thingy. Some other reviewers seem to be complaining about bad service and rude staff; I found them a bit standoffish, but efficient enough. Service charge of 10% is automatically added to the bill. If that's not agreeable, you could always grow a pair and ask for it to be taken off; or do what I did, appropriate one of their pens as recompense. It's a nice pen.

I would give them 0 stars, we came in as a group of 9 all the way from London, the restaurant was not full and they gave us a table quickly. We kindly asked if there was a more comfortable table as there were kids and pram. To be told 'No, you should be happy to even get a table'. Even though we had only asked and not in any demanding way whatsoever. They only gave us 2 menus for the table so we grabbed another one. The waitress grabbed it off us rudely and said it was out of date then stormed off. Abit surprised we were treated with rude staffs as this has never happened to us before and shocking as today was a special day. We left the place as it was not worth it!!

As a vegetarian the options are super limited. The tofu starters and the vegetable tempura aren’t even vegetarian. Neither is any of the hot food like the curry or the ramen, miso, and udon. These used to all be vegetarian so I don’t know what changed.

We've been there a couple times with different people and each time the service gets worse. The prawn tempura in the sushi roll was cold and stale. We ate from the half price menu and when our order never came, we asked to cancel the sushi roll. We was then told that they had already made it and came to our table instantly. At this point we were already running late for a show so we told them we didn't want it either way as we had already waited so long for it. The manager (I believe her name was May) refused to let us cancel even before the food arrived to our table and when I asked to take it away as we didn't have time to eat it there anymore, they made us pay collection price for the sushi roll. The manager was rude and the rest of the workers avoided eye contact altogether. Trying to get anyone's attention is impossible. We won't be going back again, there are so many better places for sushi in Nottingham. As for the service charge, the waiters that serve you never get a penny (I asked one of the waiters)

Sushi was great, only dish we had an issue with was the tuna sashimi being quite thick and tough unlike usual. Part of our order got lost so we ended up waiting a while but staff corrected it as soon as they knew about it.

It was uncomfortably warm inside today, even at 25 degrees. Couldn't imagine what would happen at higher temperatures later in the summer. When we asked, we were told the AC was on and it couldn't be any cooler. I have to say I've never been to a sushi place that wasn't cold due to food safety. Most of the sushi we had off the "full price buffet" was warm because the rice or fillings like shrimp tempura hadn't been cooled down. Also the nice sushi you see on pictures online, such as with roe on top, isn't included even in the full price buffet. More staff need to be hired as they were clearly overworked and made understandable errors like forgetting our food or losing our order cards. The food we did have was generally quite tasteless and bland.

The service here was shocking, firstly there were many free tables upon arrival, yet the waiter still made us wait 20 minutes before seating us at the back. When we were ready to order, we tried calling 3 different waiters, all of whom ignored us. I went to the service desk to ask how to order, and they said the waiter should have given us a QR code, which he had not, and so we had to wait another 5 minutes for that. When we finally got the QR code, it was not loading because we had no service in the restaurant, so we had to go back to the service desk to ask if they had wifi, which we connected to, however we may as-well not have since it wasn’t working either. Having a technology based order system when your restaurant does not have any functioning service or wifi is pointless and a hassle for customers. They ended up giving us a paper to write our order on, which, as once again no server bothered to come to our table, we had to hand at the service desk. The food was extremely disappointing, undoubtedly the worst sushi I’ve ever tried, the salmon did not taste fresh, and the flavour was lacking. I have never been to a restaurant which has messed up edamame before, but they managed that as-well- the salt had not been mixed properly, so only half of them were covered in salt, and the other half were completely tasteless. I am unsure why anyone who has tried authentic sushi would want to dine here. On top of that, we were charged a 10% service charge, when we were not even served, instead we had to keep getting up and going to the desk ourselves, as if it was a takeaway. The interior was lovely, but that’s about it. Would not recommend.

Arrived at 2:20 pm, Saturday afternoon. Ordered 6 Salmon Sashimi, 2 Tuna Nigiri, 2 Raw Sweet Prawn Nigiri, Tuna & Avocado Uramaki, 2 Salmon & Avocado Futomaki, California Temaki, Kimchi, Mango & Coconut Mochi and drinks. The WiFi of theirs is really slow and couldn't order anything, even tried using my mobile data. Had to go out of the restaurant to use my mobile data to order food quickly, since each customer has roughly 1h 30min to eat. If you aren't a fan of ordering through your phone, then ask normal menu from staff members. Food and drinks were really good, hygienic restaurants, to say the least. I recommend highly to book in advance because it can be very busy sometimes, especially on weekends.

This is a Japanese food restaurant in the center of Nottingham. The day I visited was Mother's Day, and it was my first time to try the food. I had seen diners queuing up before, so I didn't dare to make the mistake. The restaurant does not require reservations, and we were seated smoothly for dinner that day. The crowds were quite busy. Almost half of the restaurant was occupied by Hong Kong people having family gatherings. The restaurant currently has two options, a half-hour table for £26 per person or half-price menu items. , please note that the food in question is only part of the food. Although there are various choices, it is still half price. Because the food itself is not small, the taste is not great, but the freshness is acceptable. It is okay if you don’t have high requirements and miss Japanese food. Be satisfied. That night, I happened to meet two friends from Hong Kong. The world is really small.

We went to sushi mania for lunch for our sons birthday and really enjoyed it. The all you can eat menu is good value and there is a great choice of food.We found the online ordering system easy to use and were also given a physical menu to look at as well. Food came promptly and was very hot. Would definitely go back another time

One waitress give us the wrong dishes. We asked her to change to the right one. And she was unhappy give us the new dishes with bad attitude. (she face looks like 🙄)And she take away the plate quick ly we even ain't finish that. We can accept no sorry for the wrong dishes. But why that attitude? weird service.🤔Food are just normal but reasonable for this cheap price.

Went on a Saturday evening and it was very loud. It was all you can eat for a fixed price but still worked out very expensive for what you get once you add a drink and the service charge, won't be rushing back.

The sushi was extremely disappointing. The quality of the sushi was worse than you’d get from a tesco meal deal snack. 0 effort in terms of presentation. The service was very slow and when I mentioned the low quality of the food we were given I was just asked if I wanted the bill. Im not usually one to complain but this experience was one worth sharing. A reduced bill would have been a nice offer but the staff wanted us out.

A very disappointing restaurant. The app and web interface is very inefficient and the webpage lags a lot, which makes ordering a very poor experience, if you ask the waiter for an extra dish after ordering from the webpage he will refuse you (very confusing). At the checkout my friend and I were insulted by another waiter who threatened to punch us in the face if we were anywhere else. There was a service charge for such poor service and the oysters were not fresh. Thanks to this restaurant I was introduced to the "tolerance and hospitality" of the British people!
