Wagamama in Leicester

Me and my boyfriend went on a date here and it was a fantistic, shout out joe, lovely staff member and really made the atmosphere and Jacob for his amazing service, amazing food, great authentic atmosphere

Jakub was very helpful with the menu, food was amazing. Been double checked on which was very nice of them. Drinks and food arrived pretty fast. Would recommend for sure!

Ordered a chicken Ramen without beansprout as I’m unable to eat it. After 15 minutes my food arrived, I ate the chicken on top, when I got to the noodles I realised it had beansprouts in and didn’t eat anymore. When I told staff, the manager came and spoke to me in the most condescending and rude manner. Wagamama couldn’t get my order right, whether there is 1 beansprout or 200, get my order right. And maybe don’t make your customers feel like criminals because you can’t do your job properly. 1/10 would not recommend, unless your white and middle aged, then you might get treated with some respect and spoken to like an adult.

The food was varied and delicious , however the service was outstanding. Chris looked after us, explaining the menu as we haven’t been here before. Cheerful and helpful and we will definitely return!

The worst Wagamamas ever. It took 2 hours and 20 minutes for three of us to eat- that’s a disgrace in itself especially when it was not busy when we arrived. The time it took for the staff to take our drinks order was appalling, let alone our food and taking away our dirty plates. There weren’t any chopsticks or cutlery at our bench, and when we asked for some, the waiter handed us the chopsticks by touching the extremity that would later enter our mouthes. They had lots of food unavailable, including the chicken Katsu curry…. if I remember correctly isn’t that the dish that wagas became so popular for amongst the young generation so they should stocks this better. Due to being left ordering the vegatsu, my salad lacked the standard and sought after pickled ginger, and instead had what felt like half a large red onion (as though the ginger, like lots else today, was out of stock). Only after I specifically checked that they had it in stock did they add it to my food. When asking for this, the member of staff was extremely incompetent and rude over it. After eating our mains, we were left for over 30 minutes before we had the chance to order desserts, and even then the items the three of us wanted weren’t available. One staff member came to give us our drinks (water…) and then refused and got very rude because one person at the table has an allergy. There’s no need to be so rude over it. Just politely take the drinks away and find the manager…. I’m gutted by this experience because I love the chain and eat at different wagamamas regularly, but I certainly won’t be coming back here again.

We went there for a date with my boyfriend. Firstly, he got the wrong order, then they didn’t bring him a drink for like 20-30min? I reminded waitress and she brought it to him - YAY. Ive been waiting for my side miso + pickles around 30minutes, my bf asked them where my miso is, and then they brought it :D Food was v good, ngl. But service was… MESSY.

This was my first time at Wagamama and most definitely my last. I firstly have to say that the service here was the worst that I have ever experienced in any restaurant I have been to. We get to Wagamama and are met with the front desk. The employee seemed bored and did not greet us with a smile like you would expect in any establishment. We are seated at our table and are told that our server would be Patricia. (It in fact was not Patricia and we were given a different server) We then had to wait 20 minutes before anyone even asked us what we wanted to drink including being given a plate of food that wasn’t ours. I have never waited so long to order just my drink in my life! The employees seemed like they didn’t even care. When the food arrived it was quite good which is why this review is two stars not one. Very disappointed, it blows my mind how poor the service was, I will not be returning.

The worst service ever received from Wagamamas. We come here very often, the service and food has always been amazing. This time it was atrocious. The staff were very rude. We were a family of 4, took them 45mins to seat us. They has plenty of tables available, but were informed by staff members, they tables were not being used, because they were understaffed. Before we even sat down, we were told there was a 20min delay on food. After finally seating us, we asked to order straight away, as we knew what we wanted to order, the staff took 30mins to then come and take order. We have been coming to Wagamamas for years at least once a month, the service this time was disgusting. I have never seen the staff so rude and so dismissive. The food finally arrived, everything was cold, we tried to tell staff, they made more excuses about being understaffed. When we asked to make the food again, they refused. We will not becoming back any time soon.

Absolutely fantastic and very delicious food vas very quick and right drinks were great service great I rate 5 stars!!!!

Nice place for food and I had spaghetti which was nice but I think a little on the expensive side. Still very good place to go if you live near Leicester.

stopped in with a couple of friends before going to see kasabian. we had the vegatsu, and the vegan udon noodle dish, all cooked to perfection. my friend had an asahi, which was perfectly poured, and the matcha and strawberry lattes were a lovely refreshing treat. a fabulous time was had all round - and it was all thanks to our incredible server chris. friendly and charming, no request was too much for him and he made this experience deserving of 5 stars. thankyou chris!!

It was my first time eating at Wagamamas and the food and service was impeccable , I will be using this restaurant again without question. Also, I left my watch box there which was really important to me and they've saving for me to collect later. So, a massive thank you all round for going above and beyond

Wonderful service. Kai (my waiter for the evening) was a kind and polite man. He clearly introduced himself before taking our order. He checked our order with us and told us he would help us if we call him before leaving. Service was quick. I would highly recommend to family and friends

Food was nice but selections seemed a bit lacking in areas. Quite pricy for what it was. But the food tasted lovely. And cocktails are good too!

Went for lunch yesterday - definitely only a 2 star experience, ambiance similar to a school dinner Hall, with long tables and lack lustre decoration. Staff efficient, but communicated like robots, no personality. Food - Katsu chicken curry, presentation poor, huge portion of rice, looked like an ice berg covered with curry sauce, no flavour, chicken hidden under rice was salty and not tasty at all. Not good value for money!

Celeste and Alissa were both so welcoming and friendly, thank you so much for treating us so well Will return just to see these ladies

Menu has changed removing some old favourites

The food and service was great and our server Michael was attentive and helpful and made it a great experience as well as the two ladies that helped at our table too

I've always ordered online from Wagamama at Highcross but I've never been in there in person until today. Impressed with the service both front of house and the kitchen. I have shellfish allergy and they made sure to cater for my needs which I really appreciated. A lot of varieties on the menu. Food was delicious and quite tasty. Very decent portion size. I'll gladly come here again. Good value for money.

Great service after long time, latest it has been up and down but its getting better. Outstanding service from Amber she is the best.

The ramen i had here tasted very mediocre and absolutely awful

I was very disappointed when ordering my meal on Deliveroo. I have never experienced a problem with ordering food from Wagamama before. Normally, as I can only have halal chicken when I make my order for the chicken and prawn pad Thai I always call and ask them to remove the chicken by giving them the order number. However at this restaurant, and this one only. They denied my request to remove the chicken and was quite rude over the phone about it. It would be nice to have continuity throughout the restaurants. I was very disappointed with the service as I usually like to order from Wagamamas

First time for us in a Wagamama restaurant. We loved it!! The food is excellent and my 11 year old son couldn't stop praising the mini chicken ramen he had...the only 2 things we weren't crazy about were: 1) the fact that you don't sit at your own table but tables are shared, and there's no back rest, and 2) the desserts weren't that good and very expensive in our opinion.

Came here for lunch with my Mum and was served by Kasper. What a great experience, the server was lovely, friendly and funny. Thank you 😊

OMG!! Haven’t been to Wagamama for years! That’s it now, I hope they all are as good as Leicester branch. Served by Chris, what a great host!! Friendly, helpful, amazing 👍👍 He helped me choose a new beer thing they do (it’s over ice with Midouri) don’t knock it until you’ve tried it 😅. It really hit the spot with my saku saku noodles with crispy duck apparently cooked by Frank and Dan and again recommended by Chris stir fry greens, OMG!! The best greens ever! Flavour off the chart. Thanks guys. While eating ive been searching my nearest branches. An absolutely great day out in Leicester topped with fabulous atmosphere and great food . Big big thank you xxx

We go to wagas for our wedding anniversary every year! They used to do a bulgogi dish that was an absolute banger but got rid of it a few years, which was super disappointing. But it has meant that we now try more things on the menu and our visit this year, I tried a new rice dish, which was sooooo delicious! Also, the mushroom bao bun starter was unexpected in the best way! My 6 year old loved his food, and my 1 year old was chowing down from the kids menu. Leic staff are always very polite and helpful. Other than the bulgogi disappearing, we have no complaints whatsoever!

Great food as always and a lively atmosphere. Writing this review because Chris absolutely deserves the recognition for being really attentive, checking on customers constantly and ensuring that everything is just as you’d expect. He’s a great ambassador for Wagamama!

Great chain option, good range of veggie /vegan /gluten free options. Decent value, fast service. I'm not sure how accessible it is, as the bench seats are fixed to the floor.

Came in for a meal at 8:30 with friends and Celeste was soo nice!!! Really made the meal she’s a queen🩷🩷

Met some friends for a catch up and Wagamamas ticked all boxes for dietary requirements. Tofu firecracker was lovely and had a kick which I liked, wish I had more portion wise. Got the mushroom bag buns which weren't that big or filled properly, so didn't hit the spot as I hoped. But great staff and atmosphere, just avoid the bar buns if your wanting something special

This is my first time coming here and it was truly exceptional . Chris was our server and he is a genuine asset to the team here . He was extremely attentive and recommended me my meal ( which was amazing). He was extremely polite and we had a fantastic conversation . When our food arrived he even double checked our egg was runny enough. Thank you very much Chris for being a genuine lovely server , it’s very refreshing to meet people like yourself so thank you very much for your help

Food brilliant! I had ramen and it was delicious! I will definitely come back. Only one small thing is that I ordered thle dessert. I was waiting for it so I checked the bill and it wasn't there. It was a bit difficult to get service attention. Maybe it is my luck because that is not the first restaurant when I have this kind of situation. But overall I recommend it!

WORST FOOD EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE I asked for the bill several times with several different waiters but every time they ignored me and continued serving other customers this lasted for 2 HOURS I was also not given any cutlery please do NOT go to this restaurant the service was absolutely appalling

This was our 1st visit to the restaurant. It was my daughters birthday and she wanted to go there for her meal....with her boyfriend 😒 🙄. So we accompanied them (on different tables. ) The staff were amazing. They really couldn't help us any more if they tried. The food was delicious, and so was the chilli margarita...I definitely recommend 👌. We will definitely be going again 👍🏻

Came for a little date for my birthday tonight, was served by Amelia! She was so lovely and really helped us out. We was abit quiet but such a lovely girl. The food was outstanding we cannot fault it. We will be back again! Thank you loves :)

Food tasted very good, although took a bit of time, but they were busy. The only issue was we both had upset tummies that evening!! Seems coincident that we were other unwell, !

Absolutely terrible experience. We had to wait ages to get seated, there was no staff, took forever to get served, took forever for the first set of drinks to come to us followed by over a 45 minute wait on the food to be served to us, and even worse the food was stone cold ! Had to find a waiter to tell him this and he took our plates and gave us another meal another 45 minutes later which was not much warmer than the last. To top it off the Katsu curry sauce was so spicy I couldn't eat it. I love spicy food but I think that day the chef must have been on speed and must have put double the amount of chillies in it ! I begged for water and asked 3 times for it but no one was available to get me any as there was no staff available. I just wanted to get out of there. Couldn't even flag down a waiter to pay the bill. The food was expensive and we were not offered any compliments of any kind considering the service we received. I would never ever eat here again. Wagama sort your staff out or close it altogether if you're that short ! Don't let customers suffer like we had to. Absolutely disgusting !

We went for my birthday on 7 th of January , 2024. I and my daughter had a noodles with chicken. My noodles ( with chicken and prawns)were dry and had a lot of ginger , my daughter’s nodules ( chicken) was so sweet and dry and she ate only the chicken. My husband was alright , he asked for a soupy noodles dish, just he said that it has a lot of opinions. I and my daughter left most of our orders and the service man asked us how the meals were and I answered thanks but the noodles are so dry to be eaten. And he said you could ask for some sauce and smiled a Nd left ignoring me. We just lost £60 and destroyed of my birthday’s meal. It w As a very bad experience and will not go it again

We was looking forward to a Wagamamas we haven’t had one before. Seriously disappointing. Will never return my broth was pure water with a kick. My wifes was lukewarm . Overall service and food both poor would never come again. I have a fish allergy my wife received her food a good 4+ minutes before me . The point was to eat together.

Just horrendous food. Better Asian restaurants don’t settle for overpriced and terrible quality food.

First time trying it and enjoyed it very much. I was a little worried that it would be very busy and everything would be rushed, but it was completely fine. While it was still busy, they still managed to seat us fairly quickly, take our order, and serve the food in good time. The food tasted great and the staff were very friendly, nothing to complain about.

Poor quality food have tasted Much better food in other locations of this chain. Katsu curry was very disappointing sauce was bland and veg was oily and burnt with hardly any breadcrumbs. That was in 2022. Made the mistake of going back again December 2023 the food was terrible sticky rice was so hard not cooked properly at all or they have pre cooked large amounts and left uncovered which has meant the rice has dried out and hardened which makes it very hard to digest unfortunately. We got our order of 3x katsu curry and 3 sides within 10 minutes of ordering so my guess is the latter is that they just pre cook everything and warm up to get to the table quickly. We did ask them whether they could cook the rice for longer if we return and they said because it’s pre cooked in large pots it’s all cooked for the same amount of time so no they couldn’t cook it for longer. Katsu curry was bland again. Such a shame about the quality of the food as the staff are lovely.

This was my first time at Wagamama as we for a meal on a weekday and was really busy. We waited about 5mins whilst they cleaned the table and seated us. The staff explained the ordering process and talked about allergies. As they have a system paying with the QR code there's really not much interaction with staff members. The food was great, now I know why it was soo busy. Good variety and I enjoyed my dish. The drinks were ok too. The food/drink is pricey saying that, I would go back again.

Thought the food was very good and the service excellent from Chris. The only downside is the unisex toilets which were not in a good state as used by the deliveroo / Uber eats delivery riders congregating outside and using the side door. If I was the manager I would label one of the toilets for their use only!!! Off putting

Our server Chris was friendly, attentive and just overall absolutely brilliant - Despite a very busy restaurant. He gave us 5 star service. Was very apologetic when our first and second choice of one dessert was not available and so spoke to management and we got a free ice-cream. Food was delicious as always.

I've always been a fan of Wagamama restaurants, but I've noticed a variation in the taste of their food across different locations. The Nottingham branch, in my experience, offers a better taste compared to the one in Leicester.

We were seated and waited almost 25 minutes for a server that never came. As we decided to leave, my husband went to tell the young man who seated us (Steve), he moved us to his section and took great care of us. I had been looking forward to Wagamama since we arrived in Leicester. Shout out to Steve for being fabulous and making a tired American couple very happy. ***To Steve's boss: you have an amazing employee here. He deserves recognition for his good work. ***

Today was the second time in six months where I felt robbed of £14 for teriyaki chicken donburi. Plenty of rice but less chicken than one hens foot and lacking in sauce/flavour. Could do better Wagamama’s

Ate here solo on for a work trip and felt comfortable. Food was up to usual wagamamas standard, the only criticism was the chilli squid was a bit cold and arrived about 20 mins after my yakisoba, by which time I wasn't very hungry for it. Good service otherwise.

5 Stars for our waiter for the evening Casper. What a fantastic waiter with an unmatched charisma. Anything we needed, he was more than happy to assist with, at great pace as well, really adds to your evening when you feel appreciated by your server, so I want him and manager’s of this restaurant to know that we appreciated him. A delay on one of the meals is why this review is 4 Stars but Casper did all he could to help resolve this.

Okay spot. Ate here both in and takeaway via a delivery service, and both time consistent and atypical with a chain restaurant. The restaurant is pretty cool, with service nothing to write home about. The food has always been great, though as with all chains, not the kinda spot you take someone from out of town to. Their Pad Thai is a bit bland when compared to a family owned joint, but that said, it’s not bad at all though the slice of lemon gives more flavour than their recipe. I’d def eat here again and will, but it’s your standard chain so if you’re looking for authentic and something with flair, this might not be your spot.

Me and my bestie boop came for some wagas scran with side of gossip and Elizabeth couldn’t be more accommodating. Making sure we had everything we wanted and still had drinks etc. Very smiley too!!!!

I have been to Wagamamas in the UK and Australia many times, so I was thrilled to find Wagamamas in Leicester, UK, very close to where I was staying. I chose to eat early, because I know how busy this restaurant usually is. As soon as my eyes lit upon the photo of the Chicken Raisukaree I was hooked. From the first mouthful, it certainly lived up to its name. It was absolutely delicious! It was so delicious that I had to go back for more during my two week stay. Every meal in Wagamamas is absolutely delicious.

The food was tasty and very filling. However it was hard to hear the servers and each other and the seats are very close to other people.
