This was my first time at Wagamama and most definitely my last. I firstly have to say that the service here was the worst that I have ever experienced in any restaurant I have been to. We get to Wagamama and are met with the front desk. The employee seemed bored and did not greet us with a smile like you would expect in any establishment. We are seated at our table and are told that our server would be Patricia. (It in fact was not Patricia and we were given a different server) We then had to wait 20 minutes before anyone even asked us what we wanted to drink including being given a plate of food that wasn’t ours. I have never waited so long to order just my drink in my life! The employees seemed like they didn’t even care. When the food arrived it was quite good which is why this review is two stars not one. Very disappointed, it blows my mind how poor the service was, I will not be returning.

The worst service ever received from Wagamamas. We come here very often, the service and food has always been amazing. This time it was atrocious. The staff were very rude. We were a family of 4, took them 45mins to seat us. They has plenty of tables available, but were informed by staff members, they tables were not being used, because they were understaffed. Before we even sat down, we were told there was a 20min delay on food. After finally seating us, we asked to order straight away, as we knew what we wanted to order, the staff took 30mins to then come and take order. We have been coming to Wagamamas for years at least once a month, the service this time was disgusting. I have never seen the staff so rude and so dismissive. The food finally arrived, everything was cold, we tried to tell staff, they made more excuses about being understaffed. When we asked to make the food again, they refused. We will not becoming back any time soon.

Was served by Kaper, he was so lovely and friendly. The food was amazing and it was a great atmosphere. We come here fairly often and everyone is consistently lovely.

Ate here on busy bank holiday Sunday but got seated fairly quickly. Had the vegetable dumplings, Raw juice drink, bang bang cauliflower and a tofu pad thai. Tasted fresh and plenty of it. Would eat here again although it would be nice if the mains...

My husband and I visited here for dinner. We were warmly greeted, our food and drink order was taken swiftly and arrived in good time too. No faults at all and would gladly return.

We came here on a busy Friday night, so it is understandable when things are hectic for waiting times to be a little slower. But on this night we as a party of four (who ordered things at the same time) got half our drinks half an hour apart. Then, our starters came after our main courses arrived, and one of the party didn’t get their main course until half an hour after the rest of us! Due to the wait, we were told that the late main would be free of charge... which was later retracted and told that would be a free dessert instead. Not particularly honorary of what you have promised your customer. Slow, sporadic service. The waiters were nice enough though. We were told our food may be brought out at different times due to different prep times; but all other restaurants seem to be able to nail that down so why can’t you? Disappointing.

Having been to Wagamama's many times before and not left a review, my latest visit has prompted me to. The food was particularly good, and having "the best server ever" that is Georgii serving us, as well as pointing out new additions to the menu which we would not have normally tried made this an excellent visit.

I came here and had the chilli chicken ramen, which I have to say, was disappointing. In the past, such dishes at Wagamamas have been spicy, and tasty, whereas this was somewhat bland. The service was ok, but seemed like they were going through the motions to some extent, rather like the food.

Saturday 13th of April I was visiting from down south visiting family up in Leicester and I was welcomed and sat down by a young girl/host/supervisor possibly the manager, when our experience became incredibly uncomfortable when a team member and this mentioned girl above decided to start gossiping between themselves about me and my friend looking over and throwing dirty looks, this happened over the whole experience of the 3 quarters of an hour we were dining in this restaurant, I’m not sure if they assumed they knew us of not but either way it’s really unprofessional to do this in the middle of a busy place where people can see you or hear you.

Amazing food, staff are all friendly and quick to accommodate. Food came out really quickly and enjoyed it.

Came today for some lunch. Food amazing as always. Never had a bad meal here. Had the pork bao buns, duck gyozas and edamame beans. Always a pleasure to visit and today’s meal was made better by our server Dan (the tall one!) who was very happy and enthusiastic and had a good sense of humour. He was very friendly and came and checked on us if the food was okay. Thanks Wagas- see you soon!

Had such a lovely time at Wagamamas this afternoon for a late lunch and I have to say they know it absolutely how to do it! Brilliant yummilicious food, long list options to choose from, value for money menu, excellent customer service where a gentleman serving us picked our conversation and changed the warm glass out of wash for a cooler one. Absolutely please with over the top customer experience! I would certainly recommend their Japanese beer and food with friends, family or a date! Perfect place!

Came to wagamamas for a spot of lunch this afternoon. Greeted at the door by a pleasant man who seated us to a table, who then introduced our lovely waiter Emma to us! Food was incredible, the squid balls were to die for (definitely recommend). Emma looked after us really well, very bubbly, smiley and helpful - 10/10 for service! Looking forward to having her serve us next time. Thank you wagamamas (Emma) :P

Food was good , but at most restaurants your served your food at the same time, at Wagamama they serve one person then everyone else at the table has to wait for there food while you watch the the other person eat, it seems that a few people were talking about this at other tables

Family outing to cinema ended up at Wagamamas. Highly recommend salmon teriyaki soba and lots of green tea. Fantastic staff, brilliant atmosphere and excellent food. Highly recommended anytime.

From using rice that didn't stick together with sake which was cold and even after asking for it to be blood temperature as it should be, it returned cool with zero semblance of heat.

Friday night visit no queue so our reason to choose. We were all hungry after a long day. Food perfectly adequate but I have had better street food in Thailand. Satisfies ones hunger but not gourmet food.

We were in a group of approximately 25 who had a very enjoyable evening prior to arriving at Wagamama Leicester.

All fresh cooked food, great new menu items, particulary enjoyed the squid, the service was pleasent and came with a smile.

The food is good and tasty and the service is pretty fast. However everyone goes on about wagas as though its the be all and end all. Its good food but dont go in expecting excellence.

Visited Wagamama in Leicester a number of time last month and again this month with family and friends. The food is absolutely brilliant and so is the service from the staff. Excellent menu to suit all tastes and it's always delicious. Go and experience the ambience and cuisine.

If you want food that tastes fresh, good friendly service then this is the place to go, food is light, fresh, fragrant and filling! The chilli squid in particular is amazing! Thoroughly recommended!

This is our staple 'go-to' place before catching a movie at the Showcase.The food is always freshly made and delicious and I've never had bad service. Would ,most certainly recommend

Me and my girlfriend went here with me convincing her to step out her comfort zone and try something new, after hyping it up we were both suitably disappointed, she had a broth but was flavourless and how we imagined dirty water would taste like, I picked something random of the menu and it was ok, if it wasn't for me adding chilli flakes though, again, it would have been bland

My friends and i came here for lunch whilst visiting the area for a convension. The food came really quickly and is delicious. The servers are really friendly here as well.

3 of us had an early dinner here before going to the cinema, which is directly opposite. It's a typical Wagamama, with canteen style seating and the 'food comes out when it's ready' approach. The staff were very good and the food tasty. It did indeed come out in a random order (my starter came after my main meal) but it was all freshly cooked. We had fresh juices and and a 3 course meal each, which came to a total of £75.85. Good food, good location and reasonably priced.

Great service, food served quickly, only let down was unsure that the katsu curry was freshly cooked. The chicken tasted as if it had been reheated and the sauce from a packet, but everything else was lovely.

You know what you're getting with Wagamamas, the service is quick and the food is fresh. I'm not a fan of sitting right next to strangers as you can heard their conversation apart from this I love Wagas, I tried the Chicken Yaki Soba this time and it great!

The food is very nice but a little more expensive for what you get for it ... but any complaints they are always happy to rectify them or give a refund for it ... Their dumplings are simply delicious but I like all dumplings I just can't resist them.

This is my local Wagamamas, and its frequented reasonably frequently (like once per month). Service is prompt and attentive. Food is good, I like the noodles with lamb, or the Chicken Katsu Curry. This is a chain store, so you can get this pretty much anywhere in the UK.

Nice window seats that a good if you are eating by yourself. Gluten free menu available but a little awkward as the order needs to be given to a manager rather than waitress staff - cause the waitress "didn't want to risk it" - not sure what that means, maybe she was new/special way of keying in the order, but the manager didn't show her what to do which lead me to believe that orders need to be specifIcally with a senior member of the team. Good choice of stuff, duck lettuce wraps really nice, can't remember the name of my main chicken/rice dish was nice

Love Wagamamas. Freshly cooked food and great service. All staff are extremely friendly and efficient. They work extremely hard and are constantly on the go. The food is freshly prepared so comes out at different times and you can have ingredients omitted which is good if you are a bit fussy like me. The white chocolate and ginger cheesecake is delicious. I would definitely recommend visiting

What a fabulous place to eat particularly for anyone with any form of intolorence. My other half had loads of lactose free food to choose from and I was in my element choosing from the vast menu. Lovely and great value for money, we will be back!

Yes, I've been to Wagamama before. Yes, I've had disputes with waiters about whether or not certain dishes have their ingredients (specifically chili) listed (they don't).I went to this restaurant after a long hard day. I wanted rest, relaxation and a nice meal.I got a piece of chicken so thin that I guess it was cut using a microtome (that's the gadget used to create histological slides. Slices are about 0.001 mm thick). I got a heap of rather unpleasant rice. I also got some katsu sauce. You see, I was not intending to eat the chicken; I really just wanted the rice and sauce.The overwhelming thing I got, however, was deafened. This restaurant has to be record breaking in the noise stakes. I could not hear myself muttering about the not-to-be-eaten chicken, or the miserable quantity of sauce. When my plate was taken away, I do not know whether the staff member asked me whether there had been a problem (the plate was almost completely untouched).I'm glad I was dining alone; no conversation could have survived that horrendous din.

Not overly busy, good food nicely prepared. Would like a little better seating, but that would detract from the good food, fast turn around model wouldn't it?

The only place in leicester which i love that reminds me of the fresh asian food which i experienced in Thailand

we were greeted amazingly despite it being over Christmas and the cue was all the way out the restaurant down to by the cinema, the wait was not long at all. The atmosphere of the place was amazing and really made the trip. But what was the highlight was the first class service we received from a young gentleman named Matt. His friendly smile and charm was warming and he explained and recommended dishes as it was our first time there. The food was fast, fresh and all round perfection. Value for money is second to none. We went to go back the other day but it was closed for a refurbishment but it is back on the 30th January and I will be at the front of the cue as I expect it to be rammed. Keep hold of that server wagamama and cant wait for you to reopen

Wagamamas - Excellent food great atmosphere. When I asked the waiter what he recommended he didn't just go straight to the most expensive meal on the menu he recommended a variety of dishes and explained what each one was... Resulting in a very enjoyable meal! Thank you! :)

Whilst the efficient cafe-style of Wagamamas may not be to everyone's liking as a dining experience, there is no doubting the real strengths of this restaurant.After a short time waiting, we were escorted to our bench /table by a friendly member of waiting staff. Our food and drinks orders were quickly taken and arrived promptly. Our party of three each elected for variations and a noodle theme and were delighted by the quality of the offering - all well cooked, well presented with fragrant, mouth-tingling flavours. Tender chicken and prawns, vibrant pickled ginger, lemon grass and sesame seeds to complement lovely thick noodles. Very tasty indeed!

Whenever we eat at Wagamamas we are never disappointed. The food is amazing and the service always relaxed and friendly. If you've never been there are restaurants in Leicester, Cambridge, Lincoln, etc and throughout the UK but not in Stamford !! Maybe an opportunity for someone. To cap it all there is now an online app where you can order additional food / drink and pay the bill ....brilliant

Due to the central location of this Wagamama's it is usually quite busy and each time I have visited I have had to wait at least 5 minutes (maximum of 10) to be seated, which I find acceptable. The food is fresh with great flavours. The staff are friendly.My only gripe is the structure of the seating - where all the tables are joint up ib benches (which is uniform across all Wagamama's and not this specific one) and as it's so busy you usually end up sitting quite literally next to another couple or family. Which isn't ideal.

Always love the udon noodles they are sooo tasty, simple ingredients done well, my husband has the Katsura curry every time and it's always been consistently good.

So my husband and I came here for my birthday lunch and, as always, were not disappointed. We had the duck dumplings and pulled pork dumplings to start and then our noodle dishes afterwards. We are always so amazed by the flavours and generous portions!

My boyfriend and I celebrated our anniversary here yesterday and had a lovely time. Our waitress was able to explain confidently what options on their menu were vegan or could be 'veganised' so I was able to choose from a few things that sounded tasty. We shared some Edamame beans with chilli garlic salt to start, which were very morish, not lasting long at all. We also had some vegetarian dumplings and a mushroom starter, which were also fantastic. My boyfriend opted for the vegetarian ramen for his main, whilst I had the veggie itame. Both were very well seasoned and came in delicious broths. My portion was huge, and whilst I appreciated their generosity, I was unable to finish it, especially after our shared starters. Still it was great value for money and everything I did eat I very much enjoyed.The atmosphere was very relaxed, service very friendly and helpful, and the bill reasonable considering all of the different flavours and ingredients we got to try. Particularly impressed by how much choice they offer to those on vegetarian and gluten free diets. Would recommend as a tasty and interesting eating experience!

The setup of a Wagamamas will not change from city to city. The food is good and is always fresh. I feel it needs to be cheaper but overall very little complaints.

I always enjoy a wagamamas every few weeks, always fresh and delicious. Still haven't tried all menu yet but I have my favs. Friendly staff, pritty quick for takeaways too. Def recomend.

This was our first date location, and since then we always come back and try different items on the menu. I would recommend the Chilli Squid, it is delicious! (And I am not an adventurous eater usually). The waiters are always nice and friendly, and it is rarely so full that you have to wait. Portions are great and desserts are lovely.

I was so disappointed with my visit. The food was so tasteless and unseasoned. I could not finish it, it was really poor. I had Yasai Noodles, it literally tasted like boiled noodles in water. I would not return to this restaurant again, it brands itself as Japanese, but Japanese food does not taste anything like this. Japanese food is full of flavour, its fresh and is well seasoned. For the price you pay here, its better to go to an independent traditional Japanese restaurant and you will taste the difference!

I love chinese/japanese food and being italian I love my pastas. So Wagamama is great for me as it offers a great selection of stir fried noodles, which I love. The Wagamama in Leicester is in the High Cross shopping centre and it is a very nice place to go for a meal in between shopping. The service is very friendly and extremely quick. They offer a nice selection as well for children and their menu was liked by my little one. I think the place is more a lunch time restaurant than a dinner out experience but I always enjoy the food everytime I came here. I will definitely come back.

I've been to many Wagamamas all over the place and Leicester's is just as good as anywhere. The man who served us was very nice and absolutely hilarious! The food was quick coming, not too pricey, and as always the Chicken Katsu Curry was delicious. Will definitely go again and would recommend to any and everyone!

This might be a review of Leicester Wagamamas, but they are a chain and they are the same everywhere - I mean that in a positive way. Its not always an obvious place to take children, but we have always found them very child-friendly, they have a children's menu that gives a good taste of the full menu, which our two enjoy selecting from. They like the tweezer like chop-sticks too! I always prefer to sit on the left hand side near the floor to ceiling windows - good for people watching. Probably good for distracting children if the service is slow, but it never is here. Never had anything but very good food and service here, and I am now feeling hungry. I guess it is slightly informal, with the bench seats and items that arrive as they are ready - I like slightly informal, I suppose people that like starter then main course then pudding then coffee, might not.

We are regular visitors to this restaurant food and service are always spot on and the staff very friendly this is something that we have witnessed at every wagamamas that we have visited, can't fault it in any way......keep up the good work.

Wagas has always been my go to place with all my friends and family and it has never disappointed me!! The food is amazingly prepared, and the staff are brilliant. If there are any problems with your food they will sort it out straight away. They do try and bring your food out straight away but because it can get busy in there, there may be times where you have to wait a while. But it is worth it.

This is my go-to restaurant in Leicester. I've never had a bad experience. The food is always delicious. Staff all seem to be friendly, though tend to take their time when asked for extra drinks or the bill.

Me and my friend from work visited Wagamamas for afternoon lunch/tea, the queue was quite long (out the door in fact) but the staff made sure everyone in the queue was okay and that we all had menus. We were seated quite quickly as there was only 2 of us but the two families in front of us weren't that happy we got to go through. We were seated between other customers and we were very squashed (nowhere to put our handbags!). We were served quickly but the food took quite a while, as it's all made to order my friend got hers first but we got the same dish I wasn't very happy. When mine came I was very pleased with the presentation and the taste I didn't mind that mine came late! The atmosphere was great and busy but by the time we got our cheque the restaurant was half empty which made me think we came at the wrong time! The food was brilliant so I thought I was paying the right price for it. Would definitely come back.

Me and my partner have wagamamas as a treat but often pick our food up for takeaway so we don't always experience the staff but when I recently picked up my order I was reminded of how great the service level is here. The staff are always smiling and helpful and can't do enough for you even when it gets busy. If you're like me and don't really like being waited on come here and see how it should be done.

Wagamamas is one of our favourite places for lunch in leicester. Food is always fresh and tastes great. On this occasion we felt a little rushed as people were sat right next to us, with a large queue at the door. I guess this is to be expected as it was a Saturday and valentines day. Great lunch

First time I've been in in a little while but the food was as nice as ever. Fast service, nice waiter, food was fab, a little pricey, though it may just be me not wanting to pay much for food out.

Not been to this chain for a while. Popped in at lunchtime - great attentive service - brought samples of sauces to help choose spiciness level. Drinks and food came quickly. Food very hot (temperature wise) and nicely presented. My curry was especially delicious with lovely fresh vegetables. Decent Sauvignon.

Walked in late not knowing if they were still serving and was pleasantly surprised. This place is at Highcross so it's a great location to eat after shopping, on this occasion we were just back from the Diwali celebration. The food is absolutely amazing and I love eating at places where the kitchen is open to the restaraunt, it's a bold and confident statement of the food that's being produce. We had too meany dishes to recollect but the grilled pork bulgogi wraps, pulled pork and the duck gyoza were memorable. I love eating in places where there's lots of different tests available at once, little parcels of surprises that just trip out your senses. The service could have been a little better, after our order staff appeared a bit preoccupied chatting with each other rather than looking around to see who needed serving, I guess it was late so maybe they're were just off their game a bit. However as I is said an amazing taste sensation, the chefs were certainly on point even though it was late.

I was introduced to Wagamamas by my family in England and I was not disappointed. The food was flavorful, portion was a good size and service was great. My second trip to Wagamamas was in Bath and it great there too. I couldn't wait for my next outing to go eat at Wagamamas but it wasn't meant to be. I have no problem paying more for great quality food and service. I've eaten at some expensive restaurants and have been disappointed. I wasn't too surprised to see a Wagamamas in terminal 5 (new airport) at Heathrow. I would have eaten there if the line up wasn't so long and I had a flight to catch bak home. Too bad we don't have them here in Canada. Totally worth checking out for anyone heading over to England. They are every where. :)

We came a couple of times to eat at lunch time whilst over in Leicester visiting family in 2013, so made sure we came to eat here this time round too. Don't know why I never got round to writing a review last year as the place is just as good as any other Wagamama.Our son had the kiddies chicken ramen which was lovely (he's only two so we ended up finishing it off and very tasty it was too!). We loved the easy to use mini chop sticks too and he had fun trying to use them. He also got the hang of the Edamame this year too, which meant he was kept amused with that whilst we ate. Had the classic chilli squid and wok fried greens (a little expensive for what they are, but still very nice.) followed by pad thai and yaki udon. Others have mentioned how the bill racks up - and yes it can do if you order loads of drinks and sides, but it does all taste so good you can't help yourself when it comes to ordering your way through the menu!Friendly staff (recognised one of the shift managers from last year, so it can't be a bad place to work if they stay over a year!) and the usual efficient service. Nice place for people watching too, just on the main square near John Lewis. Will be back next year no doubt!

I regularly visit the Wagamamas chain of restaurants. I am never disappointed with the service and quality of food. Everything is so yummy and the staff are always on hand if you may need them. I would thoroughly recommend them to anyone anywhere at anytime. 5* from me! And the cook book is a really good purchase if you love their food

The food was very nice and full of flavour. But we felt the prices for 2 out of the 3 meals were a little on the expensive side and the portions of protein were small, also the drinks seemed a little on the high side.
