The best restaurants in United Kingdom serving Japanese food

Food ok and reasonably priced but when we dined there it was freezing cold. I can understand not heating the restaurant on less busy days (we visited midweek) but even a small portable heater would have been appreciated. The freezing temperature spoiled the whole experience.

Went in for an impromptu lunch on a Saturday afternoon as a party of 3 including an infant. Was seated immediately by a rather timid server. We weren’t offered any baby chair so I parked up our small pram and spent the rest of our experience juggling them on my lap (not great but fine). We ordered some robata options as well as the tempura prawns and the lunch option of the bao buns. The robata we ordered consisted of the chicken thigh and the wings. Both were absolutely delicious! If I had to be a bit picky I would have liked the wings with a little more char on them but they were delightful. Each had about 3 portions (cubes or wings) on a skewer. The tempura prawns was again amazing. The batter was light, airy and not greasy and I could have happily ordered another portion as we were unfortunately sharing. My companion had the bao buns on the lunch option which was 3 varieties. I did partake in a bite of chicken katsu which was nice enough but the chicken was not up to the same standard as the robata. I would recommend this place in a heart beat and unlike the bustle of Epping high street is a nice and serene little place with narrow seating but a simple atmosphere and more importantly tasty food at a reasonable price.

Best sushi I've ever had....the quality of the sushi is top notch and the owners and staff are so lovely and helpful. Sushi king is the king of sushi

Buen precio para un pescado de gran calidad, especialmente en comparación con las tiendas de sushi habituales de las calles principales, donde el arroz es duro y solo tiene una pequeña rebanada de pescado encima. ¡Este lugar fue tan increíble en sus salsas fueron geniales! First time here and it didn’t disappoint. Lots of options to choose from and the food was yummy. We ordered the Beef Don, lamb chop, sunshine margarita and summer love cocktail. The service was good. The only thing was when he came to ask if we were doing okay and saw and empty plate, he picked up the plate across our food instead of walking to the other side to pick it up; especially while we still eating. I’ve ordered this same dish several times before, but this time it’s so spicy that it’s not even edible. It has never been like this before, so there should have been a warning or a note indicating that the recipe has changed and that it is now spicy.

Authentic Japanese food by Japanese. 🇯🇵 Very impressed by the high quality food 🍱 I’m obsessed with both their Iced Matcha Tea with Cream and hot matcha. 😋

While the food is good, avoid this place on Friday evenings. Service is subpar, slow, and requires chasing staff for action. It's cash only. We ordered two mains, and they asked if we would accept the second after the first. If two people order simultaneously, we expect food to arrive at a similar time, not after one person finishes. They need more staff.

Could not fault the food. Attention to detail in both flavour and plating style. Sat at the Kitchen Bar and asked questions about the what they were making. I know this can be annoying for them as they are working but they we're happy to answer. Will definetly be back again! Best sushi I've had since going to a fusion Restaurant in Stockholm a few years ago!

Had lunch here with a friend yesterday, restaurant was full when we arrived at 1.30 but we didn't have to wait long for a table, and we were able to wait in a lovely bar area, with a delicious Virgin Colada. We shared mixed tempura, a spicy tuna sushi, maki & the special beef stew type dish. Everything was absolutely delicious, it came out very quickly even though every table was full, food looked beautiful and it was reasonably priced, especially for the quality. Staff all very friendly. Couldn't reccomend highly enough, just wish I lived closer as I would eat here at every opportunity!

I thoroughly enjoyed my birthday treat. Amazing food. Lovely and kind ice cream gesture at the end when staff knew it was my birthday! 😊 Highly recommend

We had an amazing meal here last night. Poppadoms with multiple dips were lovely, service was exceptional. Main meals were delicious, and the staff gave us a complementary dessert, drink, and sweets at the end. Would definitely recommend, we will be returning soon!
