The waiters were friendly and the service was quick. I had Yaki Soba and Ginger Ale. The noodles and the prawns were perfectly fried, it's just that the sauce it was used to fry was way too sweet.

The food was very yummy, especially the crispy chicken Katsu Roll!😀

One of the best restaurants in Reading! Everything I've tried from the menu has been great and is competitively priced. Not being able to book means you have to allow a bit of queueing time, but we've never had to wait more than 15 minutes. The location is a little unusual and it can feel a little odd looking out the window at the escalators of the Oracle. The decor and hard furnishings do make it a little noisy at peak times, but it's a price worth paying for the excellent food. We have always had decent service. Highly recommended!

I was invited to this establishment by a friend. I was not keen on the food but the staff were really very polite and very helpful when i was ordering at the table. Chinese people are normally very bad mannerd and rude but these staff were absolutely superb. I would highly recommend this place for the excellent environment and atmosphere but i must say that the food was very poor. I can cook better myself at home.

Osaka in Reading is hands down my favorite sushi and Japanese restaurant in the world! Every time I'm in Reading, I make it a point to visit. The food here is simply incredible—everything on the menu is delicious and prepared to perfection. Considering it's located in a shopping center, it's as good as it can be. Be prepared to queue at peak times if you don’t have a reservation, but trust me, it’s worth the wait. The quality and shine through in every dish, from the sushi to the ramen. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the staff always provide excellent service. If you're a fan of Japanese cuisine, Osaka is an absolute must-visit!

Food was nice as always but the service was something to be desired. Got brought multiple wrong dishes, which were then corrected to the right ones. Not an issue as we know what it’s like in a busy restaurant. No check back on how everything went was just told last orders at 9.15pm as kitchen was closing. Tried to order some more drinks at 9.28pm to find out it was last orders for everything. Despite it having been 13 minutes since last orders had been called. Went to the bar to ask and they said they were closed to orders (9.35pm) as they close at 10pm. Thought it couldn’t really get much worse, only for the server who asked us for payment to then misgender my friend. Honestly at a loss for words at the whole experience to be honest.

First time visitor to Osaka based in the Oracle. Looked busy for a Tuesday lunchtime period but still plenty of seating available. Some seats were two-person couches. Opted for Kimchi Seafood Udon which had salmon, King Prawns and calamari. These were boiled. Broth had a bit of a kick from the kimchi. Delicious and filling. Wasn't too keen in the fried tofu as a starter as it was deep fried. Noodles was £13.95 with a bottle of Coke Zero as £3.30. Service was quick. Plenty of single diners.

We were served by Prab. he was very kind and efficient hope he gets a raise 10/10 :) The sushi was delicious and the service was very good. Overall, the place itself has an amazing vibe.

Food was terrible and definitely not worth the price. No idea why its rating is 4.6 on Google review. Tonkotsu Ramen 3/10 Broth doesn't taste like tonkotsu that made by pork and chicken bones. It is more like they are made from the powder in instant noodle. Slow-braised pork was nice. Noodles and the vegetables were just the basic, nothing special. Sushi 1/10 Salmon and Tuna were sliced too thin and didn't taste fresh at all. Sushi rice was plain rice rather than vinegared rice, squeezed too hard and the rice inside were flattened like a paste.

It was a fantastic visit. First of all, I must say that I am a fan of Japanese cuisine, but despite the fact that I visited Reading quite often, I never visited Osaka. This changed a few days ago, I must say that I do not regret either the time or money. The food was fantastic, the roll melted in your mouth. The ramen was great and the noodles complemented it. I also ordered Sake, served in a traditional way. The service was very nice and helpful. Everything is clean, toilets are clean - I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant as one of the best in history.

Well I am a bit spoilt by authentic Japanese food in Japan so the expectation bar is a bit higher for me, however despite that I would say Osaka has decent food quality. The service is quite good and the stuffs are courteous enough. Tried Korean sweet and spicy chicken to start with which was quite good, followed by ramen and soba noodles with extra protein.

Private, fast and high quality food. Really enjoyed the visit will definitely be back. Not particularly expensive either.

We visit the restaurant quite often, food is amazing and healthy, we love the salmon California and Tonkostsu Ramen, it is a very popular restaurant always has a long queue customers waiting for tables , the service always very efficient, Prab who served us very friendly and polite.

Food selection was fantastic. Despite coming on a Saturday lunchtime we were seated quickly. Shared benches but with privacy covers so you dont have to stare at the people opposite. Staff were friendly and helpful when selecting dishes suitable for allergies

Reading's best Japanese restaurant. But it's not without it's issues, though. The food gets delivered in a "it is done when it's done" kind of way. So things like your starters arriving after your main dish, or people waiting for the food while everyone else in the table is half way through is very common. Same thing goes to drinks Also, it feels understaffed, being difficult to get someone to take your order. And finally, please, please, make some options (like the guioza) with 4 or 2 items. Having to share 3 when you are in a couple is not ideal.

The food here was fresh and flavorful! I had the Calamari, Edamame, Spicy Tonkatsu Ramen, and Black Sesame Ice Cream. The ramen could have been spicier, but was still good. I just added some Sriracha. Everything was so good!

The food is delicious and the service is excellent. The staff are really friendly and professional. I highly recommend the kimchi seafood udon soup and yaki soba. The tempura is also amazingly crispy and fresh with large portions of prawn and vegetables. They have a separate vegan menu and vegetarian options for most dishes on the main menu.

Amazing food. Takiyaki balls and sushi amazing. The Ramen dishes all very good and decently sized.

This place is really good. You can sit on comfy chairs (see photo) in the middle or you can sit at the window and watch all the lovely reading people go by. The menu is extensive. I particularly like the rice and the nitamago egg and the salmon. The atmosphere is always good and it is always bustling with lovely reading people. In the past I have had the virgin mojito and it is very good for a mock tail very good indeed. Also good is the beef yakiniku donburi. But it is all good I’m sure. I just have to be careful with slimming world. The coffee is amazing. Really delicious. The staff are really nice and all dress in all black so everybody is matching. When you get the salmon you get a flower in the bowl. I will take a picture. Really excellent place. The staff always check in with you that everything is okay - they do this every time without fail. They are very professional and diligent. The staff are very responsive as soon as you look up they are asking if you need anything and they clear the plates very quickly. There is a cool mural on the wall. The staff are very friendly and professional with all the customers. The restaurant is very clean. The staff keep it in immaculate condition. There is handy hand sanitiser in the comfy chairs section. The kitchen has a nice curtain where the excellent chefs work hard

Good, attentive service. Overpriced for what is is. Udon soup was the blandest I’ve ever had and I would not recommend.

Food was OK, although overpriced for pre made refrigerated sushi that wasn't very fresh. However the service was abysmal- “greeted” by a miserable waitress. We were told we had to sit on the stools despite there being plenty of tables available. The miserable waitress continued to give my brother dirty looks the entire meal (talk about service with a smile) The CHERRY ON TOP was when she intentionally ignored my request to pay the tip in cash- charged the tip on card and told me she would prefer it on card, like its her decision and that she even deserved one?! I made the point of insisting they refund me my tip (in cash) and left 🤡 Will not be returning 👌🏽

We ordered some sushi rolls , fried tofu , tofu udon and spicy tonkotsu ramen. Although the sushi rolls are tasty, the noodle dishes wasn’t. The tofu in the tofu noodle taste old and smells off , the pork in the ramen is hard to chew and the fat ain’t rendered. However the redeeming points are the sushi rolls which taste amazing. I also noticed that there were many mosquitoes flying around and one flew into the udon as well . Overall nonsatisfactory

Slightly expensive but food was well presented and tasted great. Area was quite spacious so didn’t feel crowded with a lot of people so was more intimate.

A really lovely place to come for lunch. The food was really good and service was okay too. It does get quite busy but it was okay on a weekday lunchtime.

Food tastes nice and portion size is good. Not very busy on a Tuesday lunch time. The waitress tends to wait until everyone is back on the table to take order. So if you are in a hurry best to ask for them to take your order if you know what everyone wants.

My family and I went to Osaka as a special treat during the Christmas holidays. The food is excellent. Amazing sashimi, sushi, noodle and rice dishes. All of the starters and mains we had were delicious. Definitely our new favourite place to go to when we want a special meal.
