Vile, don’t go here. Only food on the menu was chicken and the chicken looked disgusting and cold, couldn’t eat it.

A spacious place with good food and quiet atmosphere allowing for conversation without having to raise one's voice is always a plus.

Usually love this itsu branch but today our takeaway order (sushi, miso soup and gyoza) was all packed together by a boy on the till in the same bag! Raw fish shouldn't be packed together with hot food, also our soup was spilt they didn't seal it properly. The store didn't look busy so I don't understand why this happened, also I am a regular customer and this didn't happen before so hopefully this will improve in the future.

Never been in such a place. An almost McD’s establishment but for fish on rice. Sometimes rice in pot. Occasionally egg in soup. No conveyor belts, just the one in my mouth. I thought I should hand over a briefcase under one of tables here to someone wearing a hat. Settled for extra wasabi. It was the Kuwait of soy sauce. Cars everywhere outside, not sure they leave. Jealous Fillet o Fish’s lie in the freezer opposite ready for future buns. Would return but with that briefcase

It's just itsu, what you would imagine from a franchise. food and service quick as usual. Forgot the dipping sauce for the bao buns though

Loved the food. wholesome and healthy. Kudos to the delivery guy who ordered on time and without any issues.

The only thing I'll add is don't turn the miso soup on its side as it leaks!! Fortunately the bags it was delivered in stopped that from leaking over me.

Ordered on Uber Eats, delivery driver 40 minutes late so I cancelled the order and was charged for the full amount. Then drove to Itsu and explained the situation and they wanted nothing to do with it and refused to help. All things considered, it just wouldn't feel right to use Itsu or U er Eats ever again.

Always just go for takeaway. But they are always quick and helpful

Picked up a quick lunch had the poke bowl and gyoza dumpling things and from the beginning the poke bowl had a funky smell. The dumplings were tasty but stuck to container as if they had sat a while. Having been the only thing I ate that day I can say it was the cause of the violent bout of sickness that lasted the next 4 hours. Unfortunate because the manager or host was nice and quick and food was ready extremely fast but that might be because it was pre made up.

I had the pleasure of dining at Itsu today with my colleagues, and I must say it was an exceptional experience. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by a gentleman who made us feel incredibly welcome. His kindness and attentiveness set the tone for what turned out to be a delightful meal. Not only was the food delicious, but the atmosphere created by this staff member’s hospitality made our lunch truly memorable. At one point, he kindly offered me a mochi, which I thought was incredibly sweet and thoughtful. It’s little gestures like this that truly elevate the dining experience. It wasn’t just about enjoying the taste of the food; it was about the whole experience of sharing a meal with friends in such a pleasant and positive environment. A big thank you to this gentleman for his outstanding service. He truly added to the overall enjoyment of our time at Itsu. We had a great time, a great chat, and we left feeling very satisfied. I look forward to visiting again! This version includes your appreciation for the kind gesture of offering the mochi, further highlighting the exceptional service.

Can't say much, pretty much average and nothing special about this place. Food was close to being off. The salad and the rice were average at best. Sorry guys!

It was lunchtime and midweek, so the place was quiet. This suited us fine. Food was quick and very tasty indeed thesis to skilled and welcoming staff.

Food was good . Seats are more comfortable than the stools at Reading Broad Street, however expect a very long wait for food at Reading gate.. long gaps between every single number ordered and no explanation or apologies for the wait. Lack of staff or trained staff perhaps

Incredible experience at Itsu in Reading Gate! Staff is always extremely polite, place is super tidy and clean and food is excellent! Despite of the busy area waiting times are very low, food is ready within minutes! Great choice for my everyday lunch break!

This is my best Itsu branch. It almost always free, quick and friendly.

The quantity of salmon on the nigiri is getting so poor that is getting transparent. See picture untouched attached as I received my box from the counter. Poor diversity, at least before they had rolls with wasabi Mayo. Salmon and tuna is not feeling that fresh either. UPDATE: they have improved significantly so I’m changing my rating for the moment. Thanks for taking the feedback on board even if it meant you increased prices significantly which is a bit of a downsize as I think it has gone too far and is costing as much as going to a higher end sushi restaurant

Extremely poor service. Ordered a takeaway while the restaurant was almost empty and still go the wrong order when I arrived home. The lady packing stuff was so stingy with condiments- she gave none with the order - so I asked her- she dropped a single soya sauce bottle in the bag. Thoroughly disappointed. I called the store on reaching home and they said to bring back the order which was not possible- so they said they will do something next time…I wonder how. I accidentally stumbled into a rice convention. Seriously, more grains than the Sahara desert! If you're a rice enthusiast with a sushi craving, this place is your dream come true – just don't expect much fish.

I love Itsu. Their food is so fresh and they have lots of hot options on the menu now. The Reading branch is lovely and spacious and clean with friendly staff.

It wasn't the best food, the seats were comfy in the booth and created a nice ambience. But with self service and collection there isn't a personal feel to it. No table service. Was great to see they go the extra mile with recycling though

Itsu never stops to deliver good food, really like to go to them, I have visited a few of their locations in the last few years, everytime I go the food is very fresh and served quickly, only took us a few minutes to order and less 10 minutes later the food was there, very good sushi and sashimi, we tried the miso soup too, please stop to any of their locations to have a quick and easy sushi experience , staff members are very friendly and the prices are great to, please check the pictures !

From the moment I walked in, her warm and welcoming demeanour set the tone for an amazing experience. Kirsty's professionalism was evident from the start. Not only was she incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, but she also took the time to ensure that all my questions were answered and that my diet preferences and food allergies were catered to with precision. Her friendly and helpful attitude made me feel valued as a customer, and it was evident that she genuinely cared about making my experience enjoyable. What truly stood out about Kirsty was her loving and positive attitude. Despite the busy atmosphere of the restaurant, she never once faltered in her cheerful disposition. Her infectious smile lit up the room and created a welcoming ambiance that made me feel right at home. It was clear that she takes great pride in her work and finds joy in serving others, which made the entire experience all the more enjoyable. Food with very poor quality, never finished my soup, chicken there was just disgusting. Miso soup was bad. 2 stars just for +- okay ice cream for this price and nice atmosphere inside

This tiny little cup of White chocolate Dream cost us £4.39, I mean I don't expect Gordon Ramsey's white chocolate dessert, but this is absolutely a rip-off! On top it taste like pure sugar, and sugar that's it, sooooooo sweet that one tiny spoon it hurts your throat, awful! This itsu restaurant is NOT a restaurant, just a canteen like those services you would find on the motorway. When we place our order on the screen, there's picture showing miso soup is served in a bowl, but instead it is in a paper cup, same for the crystal noodle. I mean seriously, we are not in the airport terminal, I'm kind of speechless, from outside looks like a standalone big restaurant, but it's actually nothing more than a takeaway.

This place is brilliant. I love coming here. The sushi is great. The terryaki chicken is also very good but too many syns for me now. Good seating areas. There is a really nice round table for big parties. Most of all the staff are fantastic. Kim and her daughter work here with their talented colleagues. The manager is also really helpful. Definitely recommend. Especially good on the way to a Reading football club match. Very nice atmosphere. P.s really neat bin area. Lots of cutlery available. Mirrorered areasa are really shiny can see your face in them. Always sauces on the table. Kim always replenishes them and her and her daughter keep everything clean and tidy. Must be good to come here on the way to b and q too as well as the football. Always lots of napkins. Great place for lovely reading people to come. P.p.s you can also get water with leaves in. Really cool. Itsu water is really good and cold. P.p.p.s good music. Nice flowers in the window purple. Also screens for ordering are good. And the whole ordering system is very efficient. The staff call out numbers and you collect your items from a ticket. There’s also an app to get itsu points. There’s also a recycling point for sustainability. Tables are nice wooden colour. And whole decor is very nice. Lighting is ambient. Good place. Also interesting seeds in jars.and the staff take the rubbish out the back door. I guess the bins are at the back.

Very expensive microwaved meals. So bland and horrible texture. Only plus side is they have sriracha and gochujang to drown your food in to have any flavour.

Popped in here for a quick bit of dinner. Turned into a small nightmare. The food items were not clear and when asked staff got mixed up and unfortunately got gluten containing food. Shift manager was pretty useless but did manage to process a refund. If you have any allergy - avoid.

Food is consistently good quality and is ready within a few minutes of ordering. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. The layout of the restaurant is relaxed and comfortable. Great value for money!

We like the food as its good and a little different. Being very much self service, service Is very limited, however the person on duty when we were there was helpful. As there were only six people eating in, atmosphere was lacking but don't really expect alot at lunchtime.

I like their nigiri, miso soup and chicken gyoza. Good thing about this place is they close later than the other Itsus in Reading and have free parking. 30 minutes before closing the offer 50% discounts on everything they have on disposal, meaning they always have fresh meals for the day and if you end up late you might get so cheaper meal available too.

Healthy option to have lunch after tiring shoppings ! Very fast service and good seating to go with family. My little one skipped pizza to have Itsu. That's a bonus for me. Overall good place who like light and healthy meal.

I went to the restaurant, on 10/08 it was 7:35pm and the head chef wasn't going to make any more sushi. I didn't understand why the restaurant was open! Such a beautiful restaurant handed over to lazy people. Because of this, many restaurants are closed.

I arrived at the restaurant at 7pm and it closes at 9:30pm and I simply had to choose the options that were left on the shelf. Literally the rest, there were only vegan options and the restaurant refused to prepare the menu options. It would be better to close the door. The time draws my attention, it was 2 hours before closing. Unfortunately, my son didn't want to.

Itsu is my go-to about twice a week. The food is always tasty. I really appreciate the fact that they always drop in chopsticks and a spoon. The food is always ready nice and quick and the hot food is always piping hot when it’s delivered. I’m a happy customer 👍🏻

Simple but good Japanese food. Easy ordering and combo meals are good value. The main and lemon ice water is refreshing. Plenty of seating.

Absolutely freezing in the entire place. I have given them a two star instead of the one star I felt like giving because it seemed quite clean. I needed to be advised on allergens but the waiter just thrust the allergen menu at me and it’s hard to follow plus the description on the paper menu didn’t exactly match the computer. Anyhow, I hoped I ordered the one that didn’t have gluten but then my husband and I couldn’t tell which chicken and rice dish he had ordered compared to mine so we had to take the plates back to ask which was which. By the time we started eating our food was pretty much stone cold. And my chicken looked very unattractive. No sauce over it. Looked like it might have been steamed. Not much flavour and at the same time that rather off putting smell of boiled chicken. All in all a mediocre and disappointing experience.

I must say first time when I had Itsu in London I quite enjoyed it, not sure if my opinion changed cause it’s a different location or the quality of ingredients was so poor in my order yesterday, dry rice, the salmon wasn’t great either, and it’s pricy for the low quality also, won’t be coming back

Safe bet for fast microwave safe westernised Japanese food.

Unfortunately, I originally received the wrong order ... which was delivered early! ... but my actual order was, quite obviously, delivered late. It also meant that the food wasn't as warm as it could have been. The food itself didn't quite live up to expectations. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't as good, or as tasty as I expected. Would I order again? I'm afraid to say that I'm really not sure.

If you like grey chicken, cold food (that’s advertised as hot) & food that’s clearly come out of a packet then Itsu is the place for you. Shocking experience and daylight robbery at £22. Only positive was easy parking. Will never be back.
