A good place for a light meal, a soup or a snack. The orders are placed on big screens with no human contact until the order is ready for collection, although there was a young lady ready to help us with this modern way of ordering. We ordered soup. It came in a paper cup, and once we found where the spoons should be collected, we had a pleasant meal. If I were asked what to improve I would suggest larger, deeper spoons, and definitely put some chairs with backrests, as the stools were rather uncomfortable.

I love their Mocha with chocolate. However, the sushi is not the best one. The prices are high. I tried several branches in London and in Reading. Sometimes the store-cafes have self checkout sometimes you should wait for a long line

Arati and mihai were sublime at this establishment. The kindest folks I’ve ever encountered. They served my chicken ramen as if it were a Michelin star meal. Thank you to these kind strangers.

Nice food and easy quick lunch options! Great seating with windows views too of the town centre!

I’m there weekly and never had an issue. The food is amazing, all of it! I used to go there occasionally but there’s a good gluten free offering so it’s easy to find something good value and tasty (and is a quick GF option). I love the 20% discount for students and the loyalty offering. I highly recommend the Sushi Festival, Sushi Avo Rolls, Thai Rice and Coconut Chicken Rice (it’s a smaller Thai rice). The staff are really lovely and friendly and I always look forward to going in there. They’ve got GF soy sauce ready for the dishes. People complain about the value, but you need to know how to itsu. Itsu Reading is also very close to the Station so I can run in there for some lunch take away and it’s perfect for the train. I look forward to going there again (on Thursday) .

The food was great! Our first time in, the lady who helped us was wonderful.

OK if you like sushi but the hot food isn't up to much. Noodle bowls are just soup. I don't think 3 gyoza floating in it makes it value for money. Also, tables were really sticky & needed wiping.

Love sushi and love this location with loads of seating inside, upstairs and downstairs. The loos are upstairs and the till receipt gives you the code for the loo door. They offer loads of sauces on the table and with the napkins. They also offer seeds to top your food as well as forks, chopsticks and soup spoons, all wooden. They have plastic cups and a drinking water tap too! The tables all have high seats with bag straps under the tables. There are usb charging points on each side too! The staff are so happy and helpful every time I go along. There is an Itsu app, if you scan when you purchase you collect butterflies, once you have 7 or 8 you get a free meal! The metal water bottles are great, the perfect size for taking shopping with you and reusable too and come ready filled so much cheaper than buying a reusable metal bottle elsewhere. I would happily go here every time I shop in Reading!

Healthy yet fab tasting Asian cuisine! Miso soup and ramens are great.

We had a nice and unique experience in itsu. We had two rice bowls including vegitarian meatballs bowl. They serve in a plastic bowl with sweet sauces. We went there at friday noon. Had nice experience there

Very unfriendly staff, tasty sushi but it seems the chef is using a chain saw to cut them, as they are always broken.

Sushi I love it. But the hot foods are mostly very.. not to my taste? Katsu is my go to safe meal but the one from here was so bad I don’t think they gave me the right order? No katsu pieces no katsu sauce so.. I don’t know what they gave me so 3 bits and I threw in the bin.. Last order from here now - I just wanted a katsu curry… 🙁

Great sushi with reasonable price.

Absolutely delicious fresh food, served hot and prepared in store. Upstairs and ground floor seating and lots of space for pushchairs. Order at a kiosk and they do a student discount!

It's a nice place for a stop, especially if you're in a rush. The food is good and served quickly. I feel it's slightly overpriced for the amount of food and the fact that you don't get it in a plate and there's no table service. The staff at the counter is friendly. There are some useful usb plugs at the tables.

Today I've been into this store immediately after opening and had one "Health and happiness" to go. Once at home (like 20 minutes), it turns out that the salmon was sticky (that means NOT FRESH) and prawn tails were hidden because BLACK. £9 straight in the bin because the last thing that you want is good poisoning, isn't it? I was a loyal customer so far, but I won't risk anymore and you should do the same. (I brought sushi home from this store so many times and never had problems, that means I know how to transport cool food.)

I thought I would try this new restaurant to find to find that everything had to be done through the screens and I couldn't just order from the till. I then chose what they described as healthy citrus water and when I asked where the water came they wouldn't tell me and then I asked again and she said it's from the tap so I said you're selling tap water At 3 pound for the jug to which she then replied you are paying us to cut the lemon and the cumber to put in it but it but it is still tap water to which she replied yes not the healthy citrus water claimed I then proceed to order some food which quite frankly was awful Not to my taste however but many healthy claims were made it tasted abysmal I did give it a try be definitely not worth the money

Fancy healthy, affordable yet tasty meal? Look no further. Great selection of hot and cold dishes inspired by East Asian cuisine. Be it rice or noodle bowls, tasty soups or bao buns. Whole place is clean and tidy with always friendly staff and plenty of seating space. Walking distance from train station as well as central location to shopping mall is more than convenient.

Good value for money. Worth noting, everyday 30 minutes before closing all sushi plates available costs 50%.

Not today… I bought my fave Salmon Full House sushi (and desert )….Guys - it’s all falling apart ! Yes- I took it home carefully and supposed to enjoy my sushi after hard working day. But sushi was just was ruined straight after I’ve get it by my Japanese wooden sticks . The argos of the sushi, but far beyond cause there's no human interaction: you order at the machine, pay at the machine, pick yourself the food and empty the tray your self. The future.

Food is fresh and there is plenty to choice from including raw sushi, not raw sushi and also hot food as well as a good selection of authentic drinks.

I love this place! Always great food, plenty place to sit, I can recharge my phone.:D Also before closing there's a half price sale which is great to save a bit too. I recommend Itsu!

My second time here but the team members are lovely, the place is very aesthetically pleasing and clean :) Food is lovely the only thing that could improve for me is the list of ingredients of the products. One sushi roll with only a few things instead has so many ingredients it would truly take me a minute to read them all, and unfortunately I see sugar and preservatives a lot

Be careful ! Staff here is cheating the clients. They told me that I need to buy extra soy sauce, ginger and wasabi because they don’t go with sushi although all the boxes have everything you need. Besides, in each table you can find enough soy sauce as well! It was such a disappointing experience that I do not recommend this cafe to anyone.

Their ramen noodles, grab and go sushi, grab and go geyoza, grab and go. They are really good. The miso soup tastes delicious. Highly recommend it

Came here for a work lunch (at the reading one - but the new one by the select car leasing stadium). It’s really convenient for a quick lunch as the food is served really fast. I wouldn’t say it’s the most authentic food, but it’s better than it’s rivals. It’s also very filling (I did order two mains) but was filled for the rest of the day.

I'm not a fan of the till experience - new poo-screens have replaced staff.

We visited one of the franchise restaurants with my wife and our two kids. We are Asian food lovers and this experience was the worst we had so far. No one finished the food .The quality was poor and the taste disgusting. The worst fast food restaurants..we had so far

Very much in line with the Itsu standard. Friendly stuff, fresh food, clean services. I find the raised top on their tables ideal for working on the road.

Spicy tuna rolls really good and their wooden chopsticks really easy to manage. However; the food and drink is falsely advertised on their menu's as the green tea they show is just a generic green tea compared to the picture and food eaten in is shown to served on dishes not take away tubs.

More of a take away. Nothing like the Itsu in London that I used to go to. Not much variety - only salmon and one with tuna. Better sushi from Sainsbury or Asda. Was excited when I heard they were opening here. Will definitely not be coming again.

Well what can i say,First impressions from the outside looks nice, Then we walk in and we got asked to order our food from the machine. Not very personal at all. We ordered and within 2 minutes the food was ready. If i had known that it was going to be basic microwave food i wouldnt have blown £26. It wasent hot it tasted horrid and im absolutely disappointed. Itsu should be shitsu. I will never go back to a place that thinks its ok to serve microwave food.

Odelia was fantastic, suggested some great food but also adjusted my meal according to my pallet. One of my favourite choices for tasty noodles in Reading.. highly recommended

Tasty japanese food, if a bit pricey, although the 30-minute window of half-off prices before closing really helps with that. Great as a take-away option as well as for dine-in, the 2-story establishment is well equipped for it. Friendly and efficient staff.

Fantastic freshly prepared food.

I have only been to take away food at the new Reading Gate branch. Although the food seems fresh and delicious, my tummy didn't react well to it. I blame the added sulfates or phosphates which you usually find in take away foods. I was very disappointed as I bought in the story of good, honest food...

The Noodles were over cooked and bland. The grilled chicken rice was bland.. The only thing that tasted satisfying was the dumplings. Its the worst tasting noodles and rice I've ever tasted will not go back....For £7.25 there was very few Udon noodles at the bottom and just filled up with vegetables and sauce. Not great food and it's not value for money. I hope the managed is reading this..he needs to sort his kitchen out..

The food was as expected for Itsu but the manager is a complete stress head which spoiled our enjoyment of the experience; he would benefit from some people management training. It is uncomfortable to witness staff being barked at in front of customers and colleagues - I am certain that is not the way to get the best from your team. Personally, it is important to me that those working at the establishments I visit are happy, relaxed and valued.

It is amazing. The food is great quality and worth the price. It all is beautiful and perfect, in my opinion.

Can't put 2 baby/toddler seats on the same bench as the baby/toddler seats don't fit between the fixed stools.

Great food. Only go when it's half an hour from shutting as it's half price. Italian dude that works here is a top guy. Only issue is all the damn sesame seeds in everything.

this is my go to place when im shopping in town . love their sushi always tastes fresh. they have steamed dumpling which are delicious iwith a bit of soy sauce and the red korean sauce(dont know the name),prices are not bad ,you have to pay a bit more to eat in though .service is friendly and fast.

The delivery came fast. However, the food was not what i expected, their sushi quality is very low. All sushi come appart when you take them with the chop sticks and they really do taste disgusting. I wouldn't recomend to anyone

Outstanding service from the 2 men's, the one that talks and good charisma and the hot chef, great balance those two work,really surprised,if those 2 they wouldn't be there shop would have to close for 1 day.

I was very impressed with the layout and enjoyed the sushi that I had bought😊👌, the service was very friendly and I was assessed by a nice staff members as I had a few questions.. Place looked very clean and had order in the store even tho they were a bit busy.. The price is definitely worth the fresh sushi you'll be eating but they also offer there things as well🙂.

Clean and spacious shop, with additional seating upstairs, offering pleasant views of Reading town centre. There's a good selection of products and they are usually well-stocked. The service is also fast and friendly. They don't sell frozen yoghurt at this branch though, which is disappointing. I enjoy the food and atmosphere at this shop, so I do recommend it.

Just came back from Itsu Reading, food is fresh and delicious with plenty to choose from. The place is always clean with its hard working staff looking after everyone. Shout out to Zulki who works there for being super helpful and amazing. He is upbeat and friendly with a wonderful smile 😁 This is why I keep coming back!! Well done 👍👍👍

We are a big fan of itsu and always have great food. However, today we had exceptional service when I asked for a recommended soup! Such great customer service and will be having the detox soup again 😍
