Itsu in Reading

Self checkout makes it easy to order. The sushi was tasty and seemed fresh, though no pickled ginger. The miso soup was a little bland, was too much bland soup, and only a few tofu cubes. The 2nd floor gives a nice view, but the thing i disliked the most is the tables that felt sticky. I'm not sure if it is from a lack of cleaning or from the worn down lacquer, or both leading to spills soaking in the wood, but at least they provide small trays. The tables are nice and big, 8 person tables if i remember correctly and it was not busy at all on the 29th December 3pm

It really sucks that you pay full price to eat in but all of the hot meals come in cardboard containers... If you go to the other itsu in reading you are served in proper ramen bowls. Really disappointed with this, ruined my enjoyment of the meal. £13.50 for noodles with onsen egg, and miso soup

I recently had the pleasure of dining at itsu and the experience was made exceptional thanks to Ellie! From the moment we walked in, her warm and welcoming demeanor made us feel right at home. Ellie was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable dining experience. I visited Itsu in Queen Victoria St, Reading, today, and had a wonderful experience. The food was absolutely delicious. Everything I tried was spot on. What made the visit even better were the two lovely ladies working there. They were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to make sure I had a great experience. Their helpfulness and warm welcome really added a personal touch to my meal. If you're in the Reading area, I highly recommend stopping by Itsu. The food is fantastic, and the service is even better!

Good place but worst service offered today by young girl with glasses. I do not know how do you accept this kind of employees to such a good place. She makes a fake smile and when you ask questions she replies very arrogantly with indignant expression but she should not behave like this even if she owns this place. Please imorove your service at least explain her how to work with customers

Had excellent customer service from staff member i think was Chloe purple haiir & glasses to match. Love that she was chatty & smiley who obviously enjoys her job. Keep up the good work. I don't have to say anything about sushi because they're fresh and delicious all the time!😍🤤

Good for a quick stop or pick up of Japanese style prepackaged meals. The meals are a bit pricey, but quite tasty for the regular or occasional treat.

It came in a paper cup, and once we found where the spoons should be collected, we had a pleasant meal. If I were asked what to improve I would suggest larger, deeper spoons, and definitely put some chairs with backrests, as the stools were rather uncomfortable.

I love their Mocha with chocolate. However, the sushi is not the best one. The prices are high. I tried several branches in London and in Reading. Sometimes the store-cafes have self checkout sometimes you should wait for a long line

Arati and mihai were sublime at this establishment. The kindest folks I’ve ever encountered. They served my chicken ramen as if it were a Michelin star meal. Thank you to these kind strangers.

Soups were delivered on their sides. The liquid spilled out soaking the rest of the food ruining it

I’m confused it says delivered but I haven’t received it

I’m there weekly and never had an issue. The food is amazing, all of it! I used to go there occasionally but there’s a good gluten free offering so it’s easy to find something good value and tasty (and is a quick GF option). I love the 20% discount for students and the loyalty offering. I highly recommend the Sushi Festival, Sushi Avo Rolls, Thai Rice and Coconut Chicken Rice (it’s a smaller Thai rice). The staff are really lovely and friendly and I always look forward to going in there. They’ve got GF soy sauce ready for the dishes. People complain about the value, but you need to know how to itsu. Itsu Reading is also very close to the Station so I can run in there for some lunch take away and it’s perfect for the train. I look forward to going there again (on Thursday) .

Arrived over an hour after ordering. Bag was ripped and leaking, food was also lukewarm at best.

Excellent eating and delivery experience

Every time I order off Itsu, they always forget something. Sometimes a whole tray of sushi, others ginger or soy sauce. So as nice as the food was and the driver was lovely too, it’s a shame that I always expect something to be missing.

OK if you like sushi but the hot food isn't up to much. Noodle bowls are just soup. I don't think 3 gyoza floating in it makes it value for money. Also, tables were really sticky & needed wiping.

Love sushi and love this location with loads of seating inside, upstairs and downstairs. The loos are upstairs and the till receipt gives you the code for the loo door. They offer loads of sauces on the table and with the napkins. They also offer seeds to top your food as well as forks, chopsticks and soup spoons, all wooden. They have plastic cups and a drinking water tap too! The tables all have high seats with bag straps under the tables. There are usb charging points on each side too! The staff are so happy and helpful every time I go along. There is an Itsu app, if you scan when you purchase you collect butterflies, once you have 7 or 8 you get a free meal! The metal water bottles are great, the perfect size for taking shopping with you and reusable too and come ready filled so much cheaper than buying a reusable metal bottle elsewhere. I would happily go here every time I shop in Reading!

We had a nice and unique experience in itsu. We had two rice bowls including vegitarian meatballs bowl. They serve in a plastic bowl with sweet sauces. We went there at friday noon. Had nice experience there

Very unfriendly staff, tasty sushi but it seems the chef is using a chain saw to cut them, as they are always broken.

Sushi I love it. But the hot foods are mostly very.. not to my taste? Katsu is my go to safe meal but the one from here was so bad I don’t think they gave me the right order? No katsu pieces no katsu sauce so.. I don’t know what they gave me so 3 bits and I threw in the bin.. Last order from here now - I just wanted a katsu curry… 🙁

Great sushi with reasonable price.

Absolutely delicious fresh food, served hot and prepared in store. Upstairs and ground floor seating and lots of space for pushchairs. Order at a kiosk and they do a student discount!

It's a nice place for a stop, especially if you're in a rush. The food is good and served quickly. I feel it's slightly overpriced for the amount of food and the fact that you don't get it in a plate and there's no table service. The staff at the counter is friendly. There are some useful usb plugs at the tables.

Today I've been into this store immediately after opening and had one "Health and happiness" to go. Once at home (like 20 minutes), it turns out that the salmon was sticky (that means NOT FRESH) and prawn tails were hidden because BLACK. £9 straight in the bin because the last thing that you want is good poisoning, isn't it? I was a loyal customer so far, but I won't risk anymore and you should do the same. (I brought sushi home from this store so many times and never had problems, that means I know how to transport cool food.)

I thought I would try this new restaurant to find to find that everything had to be done through the screens and I couldn't just order from the till. I then chose what they described as healthy citrus water and when I asked where the water came they wouldn't tell me and then I asked again and she said it's from the tap so I said you're selling tap water At 3 pound for the jug to which she then replied you are paying us to cut the lemon and the cumber to put in it but it but it is still tap water to which she replied yes not the healthy citrus water claimed I then proceed to order some food which quite frankly was awful Not to my taste however but many healthy claims were made it tasted abysmal I did give it a try be definitely not worth the money

Whole place is clean and tidy with always friendly staff and plenty of seating space. Walking distance from train station as well as central location to shopping mall is more than convenient.

Good value for money. Worth noting, everyday 30 minutes before closing all sushi plates available costs 50%.

Not today… I bought my fave Salmon Full House sushi (and desert )….Guys - it’s all falling apart ! Yes- I took it home carefully and supposed to enjoy my sushi after hard working day. The argos of the sushi, but far beyond cause there's no human interaction: you order at the machine, pay at the machine, pick yourself the food and empty the tray your self. The future.

My second time here but the team members are lovely, the place is very aesthetically pleasing and clean :) Food is lovely the only thing that could improve for me is the list of ingredients of the products. One sushi roll with only a few things instead has so many ingredients it would truly take me a minute to read them all, and unfortunately I see sugar and preservatives a lot

Be careful ! Staff here is cheating the clients. They told me that I need to buy extra soy sauce, ginger and wasabi because they don’t go with sushi although all the boxes have everything you need. Besides, in each table you can find enough soy sauce as well! It was such a disappointing experience that I do not recommend this cafe to anyone.

Their ramen noodles, grab and go sushi, grab and go geyoza, grab and go. They are really good. The miso soup tastes delicious. Highly recommend it

Reliably delicious healthy food!

Came here for a work lunch (at the reading one - but the new one by the select car leasing stadium). It’s really convenient for a quick lunch as the food is served really fast. I wouldn’t say it’s the most authentic food, but it’s better than it’s rivals. It’s also very filling (I did order two mains) but was filled for the rest of the day.

We visited one of the franchise restaurants with my wife and our two kids. We are Asian food lovers and this experience was the worst we had so far. No one finished the food .The quality was poor and the taste disgusting. The worst fast food restaurants..we had so far

Very much in line with the Itsu standard. Friendly stuff, fresh food, clean services. I find the raised top on their tables ideal for working on the road.

Spicy tuna rolls really good and their wooden chopsticks really easy to manage. However; the food and drink is falsely advertised on their menu's as the green tea they show is just a generic green tea compared to the picture and food eaten in is shown to served on dishes not take away tubs.

More of a take away. Nothing like the Itsu in London that I used to go to. Not much variety - only salmon and one with tuna. Better sushi from Sainsbury or Asda. Was excited when I heard they were opening here. Will definitely not be coming again.

Well what can i say,First impressions from the outside looks nice, Then we walk in and we got asked to order our food from the machine. Not very personal at all. We ordered and within 2 minutes the food was ready. If i had known that it was going to be basic microwave food i wouldnt have blown £26. It wasent hot it tasted horrid and im absolutely disappointed. Itsu should be shitsu. I will never go back to a place that thinks its ok to serve microwave food.
