Wagamama - Reading in Reading

Over priced and over hyped. Food is nice but it's just not worth the money. Staff were pleasant and efficient. Your being charged nearly £10 for two small glasses of orange juice just who thinks that is acceptable?

Fantastic culinary experience for the family every time we visit. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. All Covid related precautions are in place. The menu has very wide choice even for vegan dishes. And the food feels so fresh, healthy and tasty.

Wagamama is always a place where you might wait about 30 minutes for your food and the hustle and bustle can make it hard to hear anything. But I absolutely love their food.....it's just so delicious!

Service and food is ok, I’ve had worse but then I’ve also had a lot better. I would say it’s expensive for what it is, and I just don’t understand what is enjoyable about sitting on an uncomfortable wooden stool at a bench to eat food that is randomly brought out. The concept is lost on me!

A decent-sized Wagamama with a spacious interior, modern decor & big menu with lots of vegan-friendly options. We visited for lunch after a morning of shopping & were impressed with the quick service & generous portions. Our Kare burosu ramen bowls were full of flavour, with rich mushrooms, spicy chilli, thick udon noodles, curried broth & marinated tofu chunks. We downloaded the Waga ‘Soul club’ app & appreciated being able to pay quickly & also earn stamps as part of the new loyalty scheme.

Visited this place a few weeks ago, great place to get some authentic asian food. Would recommend if you are a couple or family. Great ambience too.

We were seated almost immediately, they take allergies and intolerances very seriously and we're very informative and helpful. Everyone was very friendly and genuinely nice. Delicious food and gorgeous drinks (cherry blossom lemonade is beautiful)

The grilled chicken ramen here is incredible!

The customer service was excellent, and the food was delivered promptly. It was delicious and enjoyable. We arrived around noon, so the restaurant was not very crowded. It was also a weekday.

Brilliant x Had a meal for my 30th here and they even let me have birthday cake here and gave all 9 of us plates for cake and offered candles! Really good service and great food as well as usual. I did tip a tenner for letting us have cake there 🙏 thank you to the staff!

When we walked in our amazing,kind waitress called Krishna, walked us to our table and gave excellent service and the food came out in. A flash about 5 mins! When it came to the bill we went on the soul club app,we typed in our table number and location and it gave us a reward section,we clicked on one of the rewards and managed to get £14.00 of the bill! Then we asked.another waitress called Hibah,about how we managed to get 14 quid off the bill,she was very helpful and explained how this was possible(because we are regular customers) :)

Food was spot on. Perfect place to entertain the kids during the holidays. The food and the colouring kit kept them well entertained. Saugat was very helpful and attentive.

The best one we’ve been to. Friendly staff. The food had amazing flavour and definitely to a higher standard than the other ones we’ve been to. The manager, Nelson was really nice and positive.

Me and my friends went to Wagamama for a nice lunch which we do quite regularly. We downloaded the app and hit a free reward if edamame, the manager said that it would be okay to split the bill at the end and still get it for free. However, Alison refused to do that before us. She belittled me and spoke to me in a very patronising tone even after I explained exactly what her boss told me. She wouldn’t go and speak up him for reassurance and I was made to pay for it despite my voucher. In my opinion this is not very good service and shouldn’t ready paying customers like this. Also she was slow.

Wagamama is a pace to relish authen food and the taste is really good and even the way they presented the dish is very beautiful. Love the ambience ,food and Service.

Always a fantastic outing at wagamama: the prices may have inflated since I've last been, but it is 100% worth it for the quality of food you receive; I shared two sides with a friend (calamari and bao buns, my absolute go tos) and for a main had their new special, soba noodles with duck, which came out to £18 and was potentially not as big a portion as I would have liked, but again, it was beyond delicious. £26.50 for myself without tip, worth it for the experience but definitely not an everyday or budget dining option. Cheapest main on the menu was approx £12.50, for those who'd like to know.

Very impressive food I haven’t had many Wagamama’s in the past and this was up. There is one of the best. The staff were lovely and friendly and also very attentive and the food came quickly. This is definitely one of the nicest Wagamamas in the UK. Thoroughly recommend

Good tasting food that comes when it's done. Weekdays it's great for a quick dinner. Weekends and holidays, the atmosphere is bustling and can sometimes have a line out the door. The quick service and good quality Japanese food at an affordable price brings the people in to enjoy a delicous cuisine from a bountiful culture. My partner and I enjoy it on visits to Reading and it holds special memories from when we lived in the town during university.

It's wagamamas! The food is always good, the service fast, and you never leave hungry. Not much more to say than that.

Had a problem with my deliveroo order, rang Reading. Spoke to a lady called Elizabeth who was fantastic and had excellent customer repor. She made sure my order was taken care off and she was superb! 5 stars are just for her.

Food was absolutely delicious. The service was so-so. Had to ask for utensils several times and remind servers on what we ordered. The place has very lovely atmosphere and they had options for me even if I required gluten free and dairy free food. We took several starters and two mains - all very really good. Overall happy to repeat the experience ◡̈

I had the kyoyo salman, so filling and satisfying

Hannah was the loveliest part of our evening. She was amazing. Helped us and kept a lot of patience whilst the 8 of us ordered. She is genuinely very kind and helped us choose dishes and give us recommendations when we were confused. And the food as always was top notch!!

Very disappointed with the chef last night. I came in here with friends and became I have a condition the chef couldn't even cook me a meal to adjust my dinner from menu. Its a great shame as I have been told by Friends how brilliant it is in there. You need to change the way you think. Our waitress was brilliant she try to help but felt bad for me. So we left and went next door to zizzi had no problem adapter the menu for me Being a Head Chef myself I go out of my way to make sure everyone I cook for is happy and satisfied.

I love the pau bun. Thats my favourite. Also i love the soba noodle.ambience and the service is very good

In general I love wagamama. But today, I ordered the Ramen chicken noodle and was tasteless, did not enjoy that. Sides were delicious Ordered the gyoza and Chili squid.

We had an amazing experience in wagamamas reading our server, krishna was very welcoming and it was just her first day. 10/10 I would recommend coming here. The food came quick and was delicious!

I’ve been here a few times and every time it has been amazing, however the new menu items are truly the best wagamamas have ever done. The shredded duck saka saka is the best thing I’ve ever eaten and the service was amazing from Stella. Couldn’t recommend higher

What's not to love about wagamama? Super fast service with great tasting food and drinks. You could be in and out in an hour and have had sides, mains and a dessert in that time. Its very kid friendly with crayons and an activity filled place mat for them to keep them occupied. We love it. Its our standard quick, filling, go-to restaurant when we have the kids with us.

takeaways - no soup on ramen! no salad on katsu ever and stone cold udon. 4-5 chances led to this review. Occasionally great in restaurant, staff friendly cant fault except a manger in 2021 who argued that raw prawns were cooked... Update: Apr 24 - ate in and had the best wagamamas for over a decade. Yum.

Excellent all round. Very good service and excellent quality food. A functional harbour in the otherwise dysfunctional town of Reading.

Located on the riverside even a fish would like to be seen at, with a bustling atmosphere as you would expect from one of the most over populated towns in the country. All-in-one a good branch of Wagas.

Love Wagama great vegan options.

We visited one Sunday whilst visiting our son in Reading and was served by Hannah who was lovely. The choice of food was very good, especially the vegetarian options. All our meals were delicious and extremely tasty and my daughter and I loved the yasai yaki soba mushroom teppanyaki and tofu firecracker. We wished we had a Wagamama nearer to where we live.

Getting the wrong order always and very incompetent staff. Bad customer service.

We had lunch while on a shopping trip. I had the duck donburi while my partner had chicken raisukaree which she enjoyed very much. The food was served quickly and the waiter was polite, friendly and efficient. We enjoyed our time and would highly recommend it.

My server Vim at the Reading branch was very friendly gave me such a warm welcome and checked if the food was okay was very impressed with his service would highly recommend and coke again for sure 5/5 service

Tasty food as you'd normally expect for a Wagamama. Tried the King Oyster skewers for the first time and really enjoyed them. Was surprised to find that I'd been charged for a sauce when we'd asked for a tiny bit of the pork gyoza dipping sauce on the side of our meal. Maybe this is normal, but we'd previously not been charged for it by other Wagamama branches.

Good service from start to finish

It is always great to come here. The food is always delicious, so flavourful, and such good portions. The space is very pleasant and the staff is always friendly and professional. There's nothing like a ramen when you're craving for some comfort food!

Wagamama is my favorite, being a vegetarian, this place has one the best tasting dining experience in Reading.

Super friendly service, great food, just a tad pricey. However, consistent with other food establishments everywhere these days! The lovely lady who served us was very friendly and accommodating. Would certainly recommend this branch!

Long wait times, only to then get cold food. Had to ask about the status of my small order after 20 minutes of waiting, and only then was it (conveniently) handed to me. Lord knows how long it would have taken if I hadn't asked.

I love WAGAMAMA. It's food is fresh and mreish. I ordered Kare Burosu. It's a vegetable broth with tofu. It was hearty meal... Perfect to keep me warm in the chilly evening accompanied with mango chillie Margarita. It was really refreshing. The only downside of WAGAMAMA is it's always so crowded. If you like to chat and can ignore the noise around you, this is the perfect place for you. However, if you are interested in a quieter, romantic place, stay miles away 🤣🤣🤣... Another highlight of this restaurant is its hygiene standards. It's top notch despite being so crowded. Staff is highly efficient and well trained. Do book a table before you go. Enjoy 💖💖💖💖💖

A lack of vegetables, not hot enough, some noodles stuck together, tasted warmed up. Just a plate of noodles.

Perfect night out for my birthday with the family,

Amazing place for food and a good time, the staff are amazingly helpful, they knew I only had a limited time to eat there so they told me when I asked they would have my order taken and food cooked straight away, which they did! Every time I visit they are helpful, happy and make sure your happy and looked after. Food is just delightful! Atmosphere is relaxing and has chilled lighting. Would 100% recommend!

Food was tasty but I have to say place was so crowded and loud it was hard to hear your own thoughts. Fresh mint tea was great! Tama squid and duck gyoza as well (besides weird souce -not my taste). But shirodashi ramen.... AWESOME ☺️ I could not finish that big portion that came in huge bowl! Hope to discover more yummies in the future!

The food is always VERY nice in Wagamamas, albeit a bit pricey, but worth it. The staff in this Reading branch were very nice and attentive.

Popped in for a quick lunch and even though it’s a chain with a central kitchen the food actually tasted better than the London venues.

The servers forgot about us so we had to get their attention to order, then once we had ordered my food came out and my partners didn't. We then asked what the matter was and they said her food was delivered to another table accidentally lol so we had to wait even longer for them to cook another portion and send that out to us. They comped it from the bill and offered us free desserts too but that's not the point, just because you smile when you serve someone doesn't mean it's good customer service

Had my first wagamama. The lady that served us was absolutely lovely and so helpful. I can't remember her name, but she had blue hair and family in Wales. Food was hot and delicious

Had a separate gluten free menu, which is always the dream. Good selection of mains, sides and deserts available and all very reasonably priced. I got chicken ramen, and ice cream balls for desert. Both were delicious. The staff were very kind, friendly and attentive.

Nice friendly service and good food as you would expect from Wagamama

Wagamama have solved my big gripe - the speed of paying. Now you can pay by phone, and it has really improved the experience.

This is the best Wagamama I have every had I found the food just the right spice level I ordered the Chicken Gyoza Ramen with spice level down even if the spice level is down you still will get some heat

I love the food, but recommend avoiding the duck gyozo (gyoza?) as its pastry tastes very dry and the sauce (plum) tastes a little odd. Or maybe it's just me. Main dishes are great as ever and decent portions. Our food arrived separately by about 5 minutes but it was a busy night (on a Thursday, more popular than other nearby places by my estimate)

We went here because I insisted I wanted to try some if the new items on the menu..and OMG they didn't disappoint..we had the K dogs and I had the gochujan dish with silken tofu( which I've never had before) i was absolutely awesome.These are now my new go to dishes...we also shared the prawn nori rolls as on the past 3 times I've gone to your restaurant in Southampton they have always been sold out...!! Wagamama for me never disappoints..
