I recently dined here with a friend for her birthday. The Service was above average at best, but this is not fault of their own, they had some very needy customers in the very small dining area they provide. I'm not overly a big fan of the food they serve here but they is just my personal opinion and again, no fault of theirs, just something I should have had a better look at before dining there. I hope to return once I've had more time to look over the menu they provide.

We went on a Friday night and had the teppenyaki for dinner for a family of five. We chose several dishes from the deluxe set menu and from the children’s menu. Can I just say Katana is a great and fun spot especially for a birthday or special event. We had Santos as our server/chef. He was excellent and made us all giggle, especially the children. Definitely worth visiting. We left with full bellies and the mains were very delicious, especially the teriyaki salmon.

Rita was amazing! Friendly, attentive, and always cheerful. The anime-themed atmosphere was unique and enjoyable. She made our ramen even more delightful. Highly recommend!

We visited this restaurant at short notice and we love everything about the place, the ambiance, the staff and the sushi chef. We were sat at the sushi bar and so enjoyed chatting to the chef, he was knowledgeable and charming. The sushi was so fresh and lovingly prepared. It was simply the best Sushi we have had, I recommend the soft shell crab and the Salmon maki. We can’t wait for our next visit.

Happened to walk past the new Clifton triangle branch last night, and decided to pop in to try. So glad we did as we now have a new favourite noodle takeout! The prices were very reasonable, the menu uncomplicated but with plenty of vegan choices and the food was beautifully presented and so delicious. The perfect portion size too, I wasn’t hungry or over full after having them. Will definitely be regulars!

This is going to be an unusual review in that I can't think of another restaurant where I've enjoyed the food very much whilst taking an active dislike to the restaurant interior. The quality of food is all that really matters, right? If so, please read the next paragraph and ignore what follows it! My wife had already visited Tanakatsu several times with her friends. We both had a lunchtime bento box, which was expertly prepared with wonderfully crisp pork katsu, tasty salmon teriyaki on good quality rice, an excellent pumpkin croquette, a small selection of high-class sushi and a fine side salad on which you could drizzle the owner's "mighty dressing", served with miso soup. I really couldn't fault it. Another big tick from me for the modest 7.5% service charge. So what about the internal layout? It's actually quite spacious with plenty of natural light but the internal concrete walls were for me unappealing and the overall decor off-putting. Along two walls are some tightly spaced and rather small tables. The one we were shown to was unpleasantly sticky and our conversation drowned by an exceptionally loud man next to us conducting a job interview in a domineering manner. On the other sides were two long 'shelves' which I suppose was the inspiration for the unusual restaurant name ('tana' = 'shelf'). I can understand the logic - it makes it easier to accommodate solo diners - but surely the point of sitting diners side by side is that there should be something more interesting to look at than a very uninspiring street or concrete wall. Also it leaves so much wasted floorspace in the middle! Anyway if you think these observations petty and unnecessary - just go there and you'll have a really good meal.

We only discovered Sushea a week before; we’d been eating at the Boat House regularly but never walked further along Fore Street. We both love Asian food and love the Australian take on it - Japanese, Korean, Indian; it all goes together. There’s loads on the menu, from small dishes to mains and plenty of drinks too. I had a roti taco - crispy Indian flat bread filled with Korean squid and a great fresh, minty salad with a citrus dressing and chilli and mayo. Tracey has a salmon poke bowl with looked superb; really fresh with loads of ingredients. We also had some maki rolls and tuna nigiri. Everything was spot on and we’ll be back to try the food we didn’t have this time. Octopus balls, bao buns, more sushi, curries, Yakitori … it’ll take us a few visits

Absolutely amazing food and atmosphere. The way the chef cooks is like a show and gets everybody involved. Food was to die for and will definitely be back

As soon as you enter Hotaru you are given a warm welcome. This is a cafe style restaurant where the atmosphere is relaxed. Located on Wandsworth High Street, Don't be put off by the locaiton. I happened upon it by chance and have been there twice in one week. The menu is extensive and delicious. I've had the tempura, the dragon roll, misor pork and udon noodles with mixed fix. All so yummy and delivered efficiently. The service throughout was outstanding. I'll be going again. Highly recommended.
