Rye sushi in Rother

Had lunch with a family of five - everything was perfect. We had Prawn Tempura and a large selection of Sushi and Sashimi. This place offers a variety of more adventurous Japanese and Korean food, and that makes it stand out from many other places, where the selection is more mainstream. Jasmine Tea was excellent, too, and the staff was attentive and friendly. I enjoy Sushi restaurants wherever I go, and this one's outstanding.

Wonderful food and a totally unique experience! We had a variety of sushi, a katsu curry and the best spicy pork belly I’ve had in a very long time. Great front of house welcome and conversation - all in all a real find.

We visited as a group of 10 for the Korean BBQ experience last week end, wow what an experience all of us left under an induced meet coma. Loads of different meats to try some marinaded in super tasty sauces. Plenty of sides to enjoy of kimchi, mushrooms, salads, pickled ginger, along with the most amazing dip. The tables to cook on are super efficient and you don’t leave smelling of BBQ. Hosts were super friendly and the chef was very helpful getting us set up and running. I highly recommend the whole experience and it’s very reasonably priced for the amount of food that you get. I wish I’d taken a few pictures but we were too busy enjoying the moment. I have been a few times before for sushi, and it’s excellent, everything is prepared while you wait so obviously it can take a little while but not ages and it’s very much worth it when the sushi comes out it’s brilliant, absolutely loved the Dragon Roll and Katsu Curry

We got some absolutely delicious Korean Fried Chicken and a mix of really tasty sushi. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful (especially after we left a coat at the restaurant, whoops) and we will definitely be back!

Rye Sushi is a wonderful small restaurant with delicious food and a great atmosphere. We have eaten here twice in the past 10 days because it is so great to have a new cuisine in Rye, one that I love. Today, I had the Shrimp Tempura with rice, and my husband had Korean Chicken. Both were outstanding. When we ate there last week, I had a shrimp roll—freshly done and delicious—but now Shrimp Tempura is my favourite. We are looking forward to trying more dishes when we go next week. A husband-wife team runs the restaurant, she is the innovative cook, and he is the manager. All I can say to end is Go There, but leave a table open for us,

The place was fantastic. The Manager and chef were so kind and opened up for us as they were leaving as I was looking for dinner for my daughter. Also totally delicious. Thank you x

We craved Sushi and Rye had one place - 5 stars!!! BUT it absolutely lives up to the stars - the sushi was quality and great tasting and the service was just with the perfect kind of humor we loved - thanks for a great night 💪👍👏

Pleasant restaurant which will quickly outgrow the space they have. The mixed sashimi was very good and the accompanying ginger and wasabi suitably hot, only let down by rice base. Hosomaki also very good with a nice mix and match option. Young man front of house was able to recommend and explain dishes. Future menus to have photos to assist with choice. Wines a bit pricey but we came to eat, not drink, ditto the toilet facilities......

We were heading home and just made a stop for dinner. Since it was past 8:30 pm already it was hard to find a good place that would still serve us. Not so Rye Sushi. We have been given a warm welcome shortly to 9 pm. Thanks again for doing so!!! All the dishes we had have been very tasty and we can highly recommend this place.

True Japanese food, nice atmosphere enhanced by Adam who was excellent in his manner nothing to much trouble, the food is authentic and delicious I worked for 43 years with the Japanese and have travelled to Japan and I have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant, thankfully we live in Rye so a trip back is on the cards.

Great lunch had the Rye scallop special and soft shell crab with nori and rice. Both good choices . Authentic recipes and Jasmine tea.

It can be tricky finding excellence in Rye with so many restaurants and gastro cafes dead set on taking the piss out of tourists. We are locals, and this is excellent. Dynamic freshness and sensible prices.

I wish we had this restaurant near us in Guildford. Amazing service. Incredible food, totally won over! The fish was such good quality and not too expensive

My first Sushi experience! A friend took me along to Rye Sushi simply because I had never eaten Sushi before. Delicious food. Excellent service. Would recommend.

Wonderful spot to eat in rye. Great relaxed atmosphere with incredibly friendly service. Food was absolutely delicious, had a mixture of rolls and katsu which were both excellent. Highly recommend!

we went here to celebrate my son in laws 40th Birthday . The food is fabulous , they went over and above to make this a great night focus. nThere was about 20 of us so they had their work cut out . I can only nthankm them very much and can assure them we will be back in not so vast numbers , to sample the menu proper

Brilliant restaurant, food to die for. Adam and Mee Yun helped me create a 40th birthday celebration for my husband and we’re so helpful and accommodating from the off. We’ll definitely be back many times! Can’t recommend enough

We stepped into this restaurant for a light bite on Saturday evening. Little did we know we were walking into, frankly and In our opinion, one if the best sushi restaurants in England. We have simply never tasted sushi like the dishes we enjoyed this evening. There are not enough superlatives to describe the food. During the meal we got to know Adam and heard a little of his journey and his hopes and dreams for new dishes; he was inspiring. Our opinion is simply that a visit to this restaurant is almost mandatory if one is in Rye and enjoys sushi. Upon leaving the restaurant and walking down the street we agreed it was almost worth visiting Rye again just to visit this restaurant.

First time eating here. My daughter requested sushi for her birthday meal. Read reviews and thought we’d give it a try. Food was fab, daughter had Gyoza and Sushi, I had Beef Ramen, husband had Katsu Chicken, along with Korean fried chicken. Food really good. Oh and the Peach Sake gorgeous. Service was a little delayed due to a staff shortage that night, but Adam was great and it didn’t affect our enjoyment of our meal. He brought out some matcha cake with candles to sing happy birthday to my daughter.

Loved it. Friendly atmosphere, lovely food, good service, great loca wines. Live locally. Going back soon.

The care taken to adapt the menu to what you specifically would like is amazing- all hand made from the sushi to the sauces means we were delighted with every course. Can’t wait to go back!

Fabulous sushi, paired with great service! We ordered a range of sushi, and all was great. Very impressed especially given the fact they haven’t been open long. No complaints at all - we would highly recommend!

Best sushi we've ever eaten went here for father's day, friendly service we ordered quite alot and the waiter stopped us from over ordering which was really kind although it was so good we ended up ordering more any way, good wine. we'll be back...
