1st time back since new management. Was not disappointed. Updated extensive menu. I had a really tasty Chicken tikka balti. Loads of well cooked chicken and rice soft and fluffy. Nice attentive service. Will definitely return.

We visited da Michele’s yesterday 14 November. In the Summer we had eaten at the restaurant’s sister restaurant in Naples, which is hugely popular as evidenced by the queues. This outlet didn’t have a queue but I rate it very highly and comparable to its Italian counterpart. We had a Pizza Margherita and Gnocchi Sorentina. Both were excellent. I always judge a pizzeria by the quality of its Margherita. This was flavoursome and generous, not like the parsimonious offerings often served in British pizzerias. The Gnocchi too was of a high standard. Of course da Michele’s reflected London prices. However, I have eaten worse for more. The service too was efficient and attentive, particularly Mario who brought some Mediterranean warmth to a cold London afternoon. I would eat there again.

Visited for a meal March 2024. The staff were friendly enough and warned us in advance that there could be a reasonable wait on food, approx 40 mins which was ok for us. Garlic bread was dried out but the pizza was very tasty. £6.25 for a bottle of Shipyard! It wouldn’t have been quite so bad if it was from the tap but ouch.. for a bottle this is over the top. 10% service charge on top too. The food was fine but it was a bit pricey for what it is.

When it started to rain during a sightseeing tour of London, we happened to be standing in front of L'Antica. By chance, we managed to get a table straight away. Other guests were less fortunate and had to wait a little longer. But it was definitely worth the wait. We immediately felt at home in the small, bustling shop and were served quickly, friendly and always with a smile. We ordered two pizzas and the tiramisu twice. Even now we are still completely delighted. Authentic Italian, with high-quality ingredients and fantastic flavour. The next time we are in London, we will eat here again!

We went out of curiosity because of the revues being mostly positive. However it turned out as I had suspected with nothing authentic Italian in sight. The menu is a confused mess of dishes that you would find nowhere in Italy, in homes or in restaurants. We decided to play safe and had only a Marguerita pizza, it was ok but someone ought to tell them it should not have cheddar on it. The most original and basic pizza should be simple and include fresh basil with the tomato and mozzarella to represent the colours of the Italian flag. The service was fine but when asked what was authentic the wait staff could not give an answer. Having lived in Italy for several years and travelled all over I have never felt so conned. It seems obvious that the reviewers are unaware that e.g Carbonara is not made with chicken and Halloumi and tzatziki are Greek , to be honest the menu might as well have been written in Greek.
