Myself, my daughter and granddaughter ate here…….the best Italian food we’ve tasted and was amazed by the price would highly recommend, we’ll be back

We had a large group of 25 people from Blyth Kayak Club, which the Olive Tree catered for with no problems. The food and service were great and everyone had a great night. Would highly recommend

Where to start the service and food were exceptional didn't feel pushed but server was friendly and helpful. To food was great quality and well cooked as well as a generous size.we will definitely be going back.a year later and it's just as good food and service with a lot more People there . Still a lovely evening will carry on returning.

Edit: As asked by the company to explain my review. My review was when it was called La Casa BUT not the original good la casa. It was under the new management the current management that runs the new name The Olive Tree. Hospital isn't just what you serve on the plate. We went from consistent regulars to never again. The same week the new management posted on Facebook about taking over la casa but "everything remaining the same" they declined to use a gift voucher to purchased the week before with the owner not even coming over to discuss the issue. The waitress dealt with it (she was great always has/had been). He Tried passing it over later saying it's a new business yaddayaddayadda but you can't say it stays the same, with the same name and refuse a gift voucher with the name on. Wasn't even the voucher that's the issue to be fair I paid in cash, made sure the waitress got the tip and tipped her then left. It was the integrity of the situation. Refusal of a £70 voucher cost the company a lot more in repeat business than it did me

I love it here, definitely one of my go to’s. Fantastic Friday date steak night. Beautiful Sunday lunch and recently just tried their breakfast. Couldn’t fault it.

We had a lovely Christmas day lunch. All of the food was perfect. The two male servers were rushed off there feet bit it didn't affect service. They were excellent. Loved the gravy.

First time we have been and we will be back. The 4 us really enjoyed it. The food was delicious and loads of it. the staff were lovely but bless them, they were rushed off their feet and kept apologising for the wait, but it was fine. We had drinks, starters and mains and had to bring some pizza home as there was so much, very reasonably priced. Such a lovely restaurant we will be back soon. Thank you x

Brilliant place. Staff are amazing. Sunday lunch. Wow. 1 course £10. 2 course £11. 3 course £ 14. Food is perfectly cooked. Not wheelchair accessible, other than that. Brilliant.

Food just warm Beef over cooked. Very tough Almost onky 2 table spoons of custard for large bowl apple crumble. Took far to long to get plates taken and asked if we wanted sweet. I had to ask for this. No one asked the whole time there if everything was ok . Waiter who brought the bill was very friendly. Serving girl was not Shame poor service on sunday lunch as we have eaten evening meals before and very good. Unlikely to go again. .

Not very impressed with Chefs signature dish. Chicken was dry, pancetta wrap or whatever it was,too crispy and overcooked,salad leaves too oily. All in all not good.

Went last night, 4x people with starter's, main's and multiple drinks was well priced at £130, staff are great, atmosphere is great, food is amazing, we are all looking forward to going back.

I booked for early evening meal 6.30. Waited over 45 minutes then waitress said the kitchen was backed up with a long wait on food. This was before we even.ordered. We waited a total of 90 minutes before being served our food which was bland. I had a pizza which loterally had no taste! We received no apology for the delay and at no point did anyone ask if our food was OK even when we asked for the bill. I certainly will not recommend nor return. Shame because it is decorated very nicely and located in a really good spot locally.

Lovely restaurant, great atmosphere & friendly staff. Restaurant busy and we were warned of delay in serving food as only 1 chef. Didn't really wait very long at all, food was amazing. Had the early special- 2 courses for £11 - great value & drinks not overly priced either.

Great value Sunday lunch, 2 courses £11

Lovely restaurant food was delicious and atmosphere was very friendly excellent night. As last time food excellent waitress brilliant remembered us from last time very impressed and she was lovely. X

We visited on a Wednesday evening, was busier than We expected, nice decor and atmosphere. The food was good, I had the mozzerella salad, fresh and tasty, Mrs D had brushcetta and it was delicious. I had a mixed grill main, was ok, but said fillet steak on menu, but it was not fillet served. The mac'n'cheese had cinamon in which was awful. Mrs D had chicken Gyros which was nicely cooked but served with tatziki pasted on the flatbread and chicken dumped on top, would have preferred them seperate with Tatziki in a put so she could decide how much she fancied. Draft lager (Poretti?) Was delicious. The biggest letdown of the evening was the service. There was a new girl who was polite and friendly, but the girl training her was ignoring her and chatting to another table, we waited (listening to her conversation about her apprenticeship/college dillemma) for 15 minutes for her to show the new girl how to pour lager, then as we were eating our meal she returned to the same table leaving an older couple waiting another 12 minutes to pay their bill and leave. All in all, we would say the olive tree is worth a visit. Perhaps the new girl will be trained now, and it will be better to visit the next time. I will update this review next visit.

Friendly staff. Delicious food. Beautiful surroundings. Great variety of wines, beers & spirits. Value for money.

Food mediocre, cocktails were rubbish... service ridiculously slow

This place is almost faultless. The food was amazing as always, the service impeccable, you could not have better staff. I have criticisms in spite of thoroughly enjoying the atmosphere and would recommend it to anyone in or around Blyth. They are: 1. Have more than 2 serving staff. They did a wonderful job but in a full restaurant serving Sunday dinners they went above and beyond. I've worked in the service industry and they were none stop, these people deserve THE BEST pay for the amount of work they did. The restaurant is lucky to have two of the best staff in the industry. 2. Christmas lights in June. It didn't take away from the venue, but once I noticed the snow and green and red projections on the ceiling it did feel odd. Especially given the greenery around the beams seem to be pine garlands. But the whole meal went without a hitch. I miss Caboose and some tweeks could really take this from a great restaurant to an exceptional one. Rooting for you guys <3

This was a birthday celebration. A very enjoyable meal at a very reasonable price (Early Bird Menu). The staff were superb, attentive, nothing was too much trouble & there was a surprise treat for the Birthday Boy. I would happily recommend this as a place to eat.

Service was very slow even for a Saturday night,Starters were good but 2 out of 3 Chicken parmo's were burnt on the bottoms and don't even get me started about the chicken pizza definitely wasn't chicken breast. Definitely won't be back... Never had any issues at sister restaurant Caboose even when we parked at Ridley park.

Service is excellent, food good overall but my kleftico was a bit disappointing, more like Sunday roast lamb, a bit fatty and chewy in parts, rather than slow cooked marinaded lamb which should melt in the mouth Rest of the families food was good as were starters. Would return as service is excellent. I'll just avoid the lamb next time.

Food good , wine prices disgraceful

Food was lovely. I'd like to go back when it's a little busier to get a bit more atmosphere... But either way... We will be back

3 of us ate there Thursday night, starters were fresh wine was ok, but 2 of the main courses were dreadful. We ordered Lamb Kleftiko which so dry and tough we couldn’t eat it and we sent it back ( the waitress knew before we said a word what the problem was going to be !) We reordered our mains, this time it was Tuscan Beef, which was tender enough but two pieces of casserole meat wasn’t really worth having and I did leave there hungry! The only saving grace was the lovely waitress , she was so nice. Would I recommend the place or go back - No

My brother and I went to The Olive Tree for the first time last night. To say it was fantastic would be an understatement. The service was impeccable and the food was outstanding. Our every need was catered for. It was evident that all staff members that we were served by really liked their job and were happy to be there and help. The food was served in a timely manner and there was plenty of time between courses. The food was hot, delicious and went down a treat. The portion sizes were lovely. But the pleasantry started before we even arrived. We had our table reserved for 6pm and we’re running late. I contacted The Olive Tree and asked if it would be possible to hold are reservation for 15 minutes and it was not a problem. Nothing was too much trouble here. I would and will be going back again. Well Done to you all. You have created something very special for Blyth!

First time visit with wife. Food was so lovely. Staff were amazing and friendly. The prices are brilliant. Definitely going back.

Visited here on Saturday, 4 of us. The service could not have been better from our server and the cocktails were amazing. However, the food was a major let down. One of our party sent theirs back. It was truly awful, and filled up on sandwiches once home. Our server apologised and took the food away, she was lovely, but no one else came to ask what was wrong. None of us will be going back

Went on Saturday the garlic mushroom starter was really nice let down by slow service and chicken thigh/ drumstick meat on pizza tasted horrible.

We went today for Sunday lunch. It was fabulous, hot, tasty and plenty of it. The staff were lovely too. Would highly recommend it. 😋👍

I had the lamb which was superb, but don't normally eat red meat, a fish dish would of been nice but still enjoyed what I had

Disappointing. Expected more due to being a restaurant with the same people who ran Caboose. Food was mediocre, smelled damp on entry and no atmosphere. Wouldn't return unfortunately.

Pleasantly surprised to find this outstanding restaurant in Blyth. We visited tonight for the first time and we cannot recommend it enough. The staff, service and food were excellent, particularly Jess who looked after us this evening, a friendly and professional young lady who is very efficient and obviously enjoys her work and being part of the team. The food was excellent, huge portions and it was piping hot. I’m just gutted I didn’t have room for a sweet. Reasonable prices, spotlessly clean, family friendly - we most definitely will be back!

Midweek dinner date. Service was outstanding with a pleasant waitress. Food was very nice. Only issue was a bit quick between courses.

Second time trying The Olive Free and just can't fault it, food and service on both our visits has been lovely, hopefully that continues and word gets out about this place.

Food too salty. Atmosphere a bit frosty due to lack of heating.

We came for a meal on Saturday evening, the service was outstanding however the restaurant was Baltic. My starter and main were fantastic however the dessert was very disappointing! I had tiramisu and none of it was coffee soaked and I’m pretty sure it had fondant icing on it, the portion was smaller than my index finger and you couldn’t taste anything that was on the plate other than the cheap chocolate sauce it was drenched in! I think the dessert cost £6.50 or £7 and I’d love to know how they can justify that price.

Food and service excellent, and very good value. Shame there weren't many in for Sunday lunch. Will definitely be back.

I visited the restaurant for the first time on 5.8.2022, and have to say that I was very impressed. The staff were very friendly, the service was prompt and the food was lovely. We'll definitely be back and have no hesitation to recommend this restaurant. Excellent value for money 😁

I have visited this place quite a few times over the past few years and never had any problems. HOWEVER it was my partners birthday on Sunday 26.6.2022 . I booked a table for 8 of us family and friends ordered drinks starters and mains.Drinks and starters not a problem when it came to the main meals 2 of the meals were wrong and 1 meal didn't come at all the rest of the meals all came out at different times the meal that didn't come was for my partner. The service was absolutely terrible the two young girls that took the orders did not have a cluethey were doing .everyone had ate their meals the chef was going to start cooking told them not to bother . I will never go back to this place again and never recommend this place

What a nightmare, party of eight for a birthday meal and we were the only eight in the restaurant, starters and first round of drinks all came out fine, however the main was a total disaster meals missing and wrong orders given, the person who’s birthday it was ended out without a meal, think twice then think again about going, would definitely not recommend this place to anyone

I have visited this place several times and I have to say last night was a nightmare, order's were wrong food was not good at all. I can understand if the place was packed but there was only 8 of us and another 2, there was no excuse for bad service and bad attitude. Definitely will not be going back.

visited this restaurant for the first time sun 26-6-22 for a party of 8 booked by my partner restaurant looked nice and we were the only people present the waitresses were young and seemed inexperienced but the drinks arrived as did the starters the portions were small but fine thats where everything started to go downhill rapidly mains arrived well 3 did a while later 2 more the remaining 3 all ordered the same dish which came 1 at a time about 10 minutes later and the wrong dish we had all ordered pollo dishes but there was no chicken just 4 prawns on a bed of rice we were told by the waitress the dish didnt come with chips or veg when the menu clearly stated it did the dish was taken away about 15 minutes later the correct dish was brought but only 2 when 3 was ordered i pointed this out and was told the chef would cook it straight away by this time everyone ws finished their meal so i told the waitress not to bother i think it was abit cheeky to charge full price for such shabby service but we will never set foot in the place again and then to top it off was blanked by the waitress on the way out thankyou la casa for ruining my birthday meal

Maybe there’s a new cook and there cutting down on portions but this delivery tonight was an absolute disgrace….not only was it half an hour late but as you can see from the pictures I wouldn’t give this to my dog! Maybe you should just stop deliveries altogether?

This was my first time here and I will definitely be returning. Really delicious food and excellent portion sizes for a very good price! Lovely.

Attended for lunch service today, would say improvement is definitely needed. Upon arriving restaurant was not busy but there was only 1 waiter working. He was super friendly, but really flustered and unorganised and kept repeating how understaffed they were. I ordered tap water to drink (after a 40 min wait for a drinks order) and it tasted really strange and it got replaced with F.O.C bottled water. Food - reasonably priced but sub par. Pitta bread with my starter was really burned. Salmon for main - salmon was cooked nice with a nice dill sauce. Came with potatos which weren't cooked inside. Menu also stated it comes with baby prawns but they weren't anywhere in sight. Hope this restaurant gets through its teething problems as I would like to give it another go in the future.

Order was wrong. The replacement was undercooked and tasted funny when it finally arrived. My companions had finished their meal by the time mine I received my pizza. Didn't feel very welcoming despite the venue being beautifully decorated.

Italian / Greek restaurant, nice friendly place. It's upstairs so not suitable if you can't manage the stairs.

Place looks great when you first come in and the service is quick and friendly. However the food is very average. I ordered half pizza half pasta - a pollo pizza (chicken and garlic) and a chicken and pesto pasta. What came was very portion controlled which would have been fine if the food was superb but it wasn't. The pizza itself had 1 or 2 cubes of chicken per slice. The pizza base was soggy and the little bit of cheese there was was only partially melted. It tasted very much like a frozen pizza done in the oven on too lower heat (which I assume it wasn't as they have a stone pizza oven). The pasta was drowned in pesto and was overpowering. The food isn't expensive but I'd rather pay more and get good food. Not one to go back to for me.
