Dined here for family birthday, service was quick, food was lovely, staff were good all except one the blonde waitress who had a cracking RFB, rolling her eyes if you weren't ready for her when giving your order, asking for anything from her seemed huge effort on her part. You could she was talking about us to other staff members, just found ger to be rude and obnoxious. She needs to be on a different role instead of on the floor or need to change her manner.

Went for dinner and was a very pleasant evening. Quick and polite service, made us feel very welcomed. Food was delicious and good portion size!! Will be back!

Not too sure what all the previous reviews are about. But this place was a great little find. The young staff were so friendly and great with the younger family members. Food was very tasty and great quality, we all opted for the £9.95 special. Great value for money. We will be back!😁

We visited here as a group of 12 work friends . The restaurant was very quiet , with only 1 other table occupied , a sign of things to come , obviously . Staff were very rude , and unfriendly . The food was to say the least , tasteless and bland , and this was felt by all of us . We were told we couldn’t have garlic bread to accompany our pasta dishes ??? Really ?? Drinks we didn’t have were added to the bill , and in the end we paid for them because it was easier than trying to get the staff to correct the bill . It was though we were a major imposition , on a Friday night , in a restaurant with one other occupied table . Needless to say , none of us will return , or recommend to anyone . Avoid !!!

I had the carbonara and at some point asked for bread for the sauce but was completely ignored by that same brown-haired member of staff. The experience made us feel very uncomfortable. Admittedly the blonde-haired waiter was very nice to us, but but the other working yesterday at midday had such a foul attitude it has utterly spoilt the experience and establishment for me.

Unwelcoming staff rude manner food terrible would not recommend Friday night expected the place to Be busy but Not we were the only table in the staff where not pleasant the order was taking the food arrived 45 min later some meals were returned as could not eat as over cooked !! Others food where ok the food that was returned the female waitress made use feel very uncomfortable she stood with her arms crossed and was staring as if she wanted us to leave paying the bill was a joke to I definitely would stay clear

Absolutely amazing!! The 2 young waitresses were so sweet and kind! So welcoming . and wow the food 😍 so good! Highly recommend coming here it’s Such a welcoming place. I’ve been here a couple times and has impressed me every time , will be coming more and more (date thu 21 march 2:39)

Great girls night out. We were made very welcome, the food was lovely, really excellent. There are some very fashionable Italian restaurants in Morpeth, and Primo Piano is every bit as good as any of them. Good value, great food, a lovely evening.

We went for the extended lunch time special. The restaurant claims to be open until 9pm, however upon finishing our meal at 8.15pm and just drinking our drinks, the staff became very unwelcoming. They turned the music off and all 3 staff stood glaring at us intimidating us to leave. One of our guests also did not receive the dessert/coffee part of her order. 2 guests each had half a pizza left so asked to take it away. Once they got home they realised they had only been given one slice of the pizza-which they had paid for!!!! Won’t be returning!

I’ve been before and left a one star review due to one horrendous waiter. I’ve recently started coming again as the food was always nice. The waiter seems to have gone the service team are now all brilliant and the food good. Thank goodness it can go back to being my go too!

Went for a meal with work so pleased it wasn’t me paying. Upon entering the restaurant you notice this very strange smell, maybe a bit musty I don’t know. The restaurant itself is very dated looking and the toilet area was freezing. Food (3 course special) Starter: was bruschetta and definitely the worst course of the meal. This was like nothing I had had before. One tiny bit of untoasted soggy bread. There was no olive oil/ balsamic and the tomato was just basic chopped tomato with no oil/ season. Tiny and boring. I seen the others have potato skins and these were really small portions compared to the likes of Sambucas. Main course: Was pasta carbonara and to be fair this wasn’t too bad and a decent portion. The highlight of the trip really. Pudding: Was coffee or your standard cheap ice cream which is to be expected. Service: There was zero atmosphere in the place. The waiter was very miserable and slightly condescending in his tone and manor. The girl was a bit more friendly. Strange old place to be fair.

Went with friends and got the lunch time special. Bruschetta came and one piece! Handful of potato skins which would have fitted on a tea plate! Lasagne came in a dish, covered in sauce and the size was probably of a tea cup! The offer was icecream or Coffee. I asked for a tea and told wasnt on the special!! Staff very cold and not friendly at all. Wont be returning!! Much nicer and friendly Italians in Morpeth to visit.

Firstly, what’s that weird smell as you walk up the stairs? We went here as everywhere else in Morpeth was full. Starter Bruschetta - toasted bread was soggy, calamari was like plastic and goats cheese was average. Main course again average, staff not particularly friendly and we won’t be returning.

Nice pizzas here, good dough, light but crispy and served hot, never very busy at lunchtime which is a shame as its better food than some other local places. Very cheap too, 9 99 for 3 courses. Recommended

Christmas dinner for £25 per head was not very good. Vegetables and meal of turkey [not the white cut of turkey] there were a good selection of vegetables but everything was cold. Told waitress but no senior management came to explain [apparantly that was because we complained half an hour after the meal] most of our dinners were left Startes were great Where we were seated was really cold other parts of restaurant seemed warm enought - no satisfaction from manageent again who said the heating was on at 28 degrees unfortunely not in our end probably not a second visit

I thought after a while I would Try this places as was advertising in the street a three course sunday meal at 11.95 I sat down and was greated buy a young waitress just appeared not that friendly, I sat down and another person came asking for Drinks I asked for water and waited for some time then another third young woment came up took my order the potato skins were oka, the beef arrived and I thought the taste was a bit odd, No bad but not right the vegitalbes very limited. I had a mini icre cream. During that time no one asked me if the food was ok, I went to pay and I emntioned this and the response was falt. Just not customer focused and i felt just after your money

Went here with a large group of friends. Had a really good night. Meals were very good and the service was very quick and friendly.

Visted two years ago, yes writing the review now because tbh I'd chosen to forget about the miserable visit. Decided to try Primo as we fancied a cheap pasta meal. Wasn't expecting 5 star but I regularly eat at other cheap Italians which are always spot on. First off customer service was shocking, my daughter had a bottle of pop on the table which I completely understand most establishments would ask not to consume but the way the waitress handled the situation was disgusting, a polite request to remove the bottle from view was all that was required however she made us feel like criminals and that set the tone for the rest of the meal. The knives and forks were dirty, I didn't dare complain as I didn't want to deal with said waitress again. Anyway I ordered the cannelloni which was laced with some awful aniseed tasting seasoning and the meat appeared to be turkey mince or some extremely poor quality beef full of grease. I couldn't even eat half and had to leave the rest as the flavour was so vile. Didn't bother with coffee or desserts left as soon as we could and definitely won't be giving it another try.

My grandson and I had an amazing meal ! He ate all (but 2 crusts) of his pizza !!! I had a steak ,I’m not going to say it was the best I’ve had ,but I’ve certainly has worse ,the chips are amazing and the young staff are fantastic!! Well done and as arny said ,I’ll be back ,especially for the dessert !!! Yummy

Dropped in for an early dinner on a rainy evening. A warm welcome, courteous staff and relaxed atmosphere. Pasta and pizza both very good and great value.

AVOID! Was extremely ill after our family meal out! Two of us who ate seafood dishes were showing strong signs of food poisoning 6 hours after… poorly for 3 days. Sarcastic staff, rolling her eyes at my boyfriend when he asked for an extra portion, such an easy request yet she made us feel stupid. Restaurant was boiling. Very disappointing, non of us will be returning again. Sh*t show.

Booked for a family birthday as we had all been before and loved it. The staff are extra friendly and great with our smaller children. The food is top notch, great quality and well presented. We love the atmosphere even during the daytime but this was our first time on a hot day! 🥵 Don’t know how the staff coped - we were told the windows don’t open and the single one that was ajar didn’t help much. There are a couple of aircon units in the ceiling but they weren’t switched on. Fortunately the room was not full so we managed but it was not comfortable. Looks like summer’s are getting hotter so you really need to up your game here, sort this out and make it much better for customers and staff alike!

This restaurant had good reviews so we went there for my brother and his wife’s 40th Wedding Anniversary. The food was tasty although the presentation left a bit to be desired. However once we’d had two courses we were pretty much ignored and soon got the message that they would rather we left so they could close early. Most unwelcome I’ve ever felt in an Italian Restaurant. I won’t be going there again!!

Rang to book a table for 7 on Sunday. The person who answered kept saying half six, half six until I agreed but when we got there there was only one other table occupied. It seemed from the beginning that they were wanting to close even though they said they didn't when I directly asked them. The food was very tasty but the feeling of being rushed never stopped. This was our wedding anniversary and it was spoiled. If you don't want to open on a Sunday evening then don't, but if you are open your custoners have the right to feel welcome. Poor service, disappointing

I booked a table here for my partners birthday I told them this over the phone and asked for a birthday cake or something for him told them I would pay extra for this. We arrived a bit early when we got to the desk they said that was perfectly ok didn't ask for a name and sitted us. Ordered drinks which came to the table quickly then ordered the 3 course Sunday lunch one beef one lamb. We had the pototo skins for starters which didn't have to wait long for and thoroughly enjoyed them. The vegetables for the mains turned up first and then we waited until a waiter asked have we had the pototo skins yet? We said we had and we were waiting for the meat and potatoes to arrive. Finally the lamb arrived and given to the wrong person who started to eat it as you couldn't tell it was lamb as there was more gravy on the cold plate than anything else. Still waiting for the beef for a good few minutes also served on a cold plate with tonnes of gravy. The lamb was tasteless with plenty of grisel. The cabbage still was attached to the stork and all the veg was cold by the time we started eating. A waitress came to take the plates away and asked if everything was ok I told no and gave her all the above reasons she apologized we said it wasn't her fault. I don't know if she passed the complaint on to the manager/ owner but he was too busy dancing up and down the aisle acting as if he was hosting a hen party not what you want when you're having Sunday lunch. We then had coffees which was served luke warm and then when the milk was added even colder. My partner wanted to leave but I was trying to keep him talking waiting for his birthday cake/ whatever they do on someone's birthday to arrive but nothing did so I paid the bill and left never to go back again. The only reason I've given them one star was because the potato skins were nice

We are regulars to primo piano have been for many years, and 9 times out of 10 the food is good and value for money. On this occasion i would give zero stars if i could. I opted for the 3 course special. Potato skins, lasagne ,coffee. I always change tomato sauce for bbq with skins. They were nice. Lasagne. All cheese and no meat. I asked to see manager. Who came 10 minutes later after she finished her lunch and served a few more people. She agreed there appeared to be no meat in my lasagne. She offered me another choice. I declined as my husband had finished his meal. She offered me something to take home i also declined ( no point in going out for dinner to take it home) i asked for the meal to be removed from the bill. Bill came i couldnt get what we had been charged for. Oh she said i charged you £1.60 for the bbq sauce and £5 for the coffee. !!!!! I said i wasnt happy about that and we wont be back. She shrugged her shoulders and walked away. Now any good manager would apologise about the meal remove it from the bill (after all it is there fault not ours) and maybe offer a free drink/ coffee. Instead her snotty attitude found ways to add to our bill . This attitude from her has lost our custom.

The lady taking the order made a mistake and gave me the wrong pizza , when I politely let her know that I hadn’t ordered this, she became incredibly rude and confrontational. She was also quite blunt and rude when taking the order. I honestly didn’t know what to say because it was so unexpected. I’m a waitress myself so I understand that mistakes happen and I would never be rude to waiting staff so I have no idea what warranted this reaction. My mum was with me and she was shocked. The pizza was replaced (after she had practically shouted at me) but no apology was given. Also, gluten free costs extra which doesn’t seem that fair (i’m coeliac and haven't experienced this at any other restaurant). The other staff are all lovely and the food is decent for the price. I used to go often since it’s cheap and while it was never great, i’m completely put off now.

Meal very good, 3 course for £8.95. Staff lovely, the only thing, as friend is and I'm partially deaf, the music very loud. Pse bear this in mind as those in our situation can't help this therefore can't hear our conversations.

Myself and my stepson arrived at 4.45 and we're told we couldn't order special for £8.95 ..3 course meal as it ended at 4.45!?! It sait till 5!? Otherwise a lovely meal..

Visited today just before 5pm was offered dinner menus there was a few different deals on that were really good . I had the 3 course deal was only £21.95 I had brushetta followed by fillet steak. Was really good quality of the steak was so tasty with buttered lemon garlic source. A nice slice of cheese cake to complete. My Mum had the 2 course meal Chelfs special chicken Diane and brushetta. I would recommend you try this place. The service and people are so friendly. While we were there a little girl was celebrating her birthday everyone sang to her. Would definitely come back they also do a pizza pasta menu 3 course before 5pm £8.95.

Visited towards the end of the month through the week so was quieter than usual. Had three portions (starter, main and desert) and came to only £8.95!! Which was amazing with how nice and filling the food was. Waiter was friendly and kind older woman was lovely however the younger waitress seemed a little bit rude. My friend asked what the soup was to be told it was some sort of vegetable and waitress rolled her eyes as if my friend should have known what kind of vegetable it was ( english isn’t her first language). Other than that, our experience was great and will probably be back!

A Tuesday lunchtime, so we were concerned that any restaurant might be too quiet: however, there were about a dozen customers already seated when we entered around 12.10 pm. The atmosphere was helped by what I might call typical 'Italian restaurant music'. We were welcomed and sat immediately. An excellent choice of menus: a cheap lunch deal, a very good set lunch menu, a specials board and the main menu, with reasonably priced drinks. We chose from the specials and the main. We had starters and mains with a bottle of Sicilian red and couldn't manage dessert but finished with a coffee. Our bill was just over £60 but could have been a lot less with other choices. The service was excellent and helpful from the three staff on 'front of house'. This is our 'go to' when we are in Morpeth, which needs to be more often.

For the price point, the food can't be faulted. This classic Italian food is prepared, cooked and served to a high standard and it's absolutely worth the price you pay. The staff are ok and are friendly enough but one lady [I assume owner] is a little overly cautious of her newly refurbished vinyl seating. Not the first time it's been noted so for that reason 4/5. Slight tweaking in customer service would see this place a 5/5 and a firm favourite in Morpeth.

This was our first visit to Primo Piano for some time. We were certainly not disappointed! The restaurant was clean and well presented. Lovely family atmosphere. Beautiful, freshly prepared and authentic Italian food of the highest quality and some of the most welcoming and attentive...

The fillet steak strips with spaghetti was so good! Starter of octopus with lemon and Eton mess for dessert were spot on. Friendly and knowledgeable staff who were happy to take the time to discuss the menu and wines.

It was FREEZING! They INSISTED it was 30 degrees. Did they mean Fahrenheit?? Out of the six occupied tables why were four groups sitting eating with their coats on? We only took our gloves off to manage the knives and forks... The lunch time special food was OK.

Came hear end of last month and come back tonight for a seafood risotto and itialians is my favourite type of food but this place is like an Italians 2.0 chips are proper potato cut in house and when taken away they come in foil so they stay Chrispy it’s in up stairs restaurant so through the day it’s like a hidden gem…. Went to this restaurant on a Saturday with family and it was very disappointing. First hurdle was a sign at the top of the stairs saying ‘cash only.’ Had to turn around and go and find a cash machine - I never use cash anymore....

We called in on spec without making an appointment and it's just as well we went early as it filled up so that's either a sign that it's very good or they're picking up trade from Gianni's being closed. The staff and food were great and my only gripe was that we were sat down and had drinks order supplied before being told that there was only 1 chef and there would be a delay. My suggestion in that scenario would be to deal with the guests in house and maybe not put so much focus on the ubereats orders. Saw so many deliveries being made whilst we were sat waiting for our food order to be taken

Sunday lunch deal is great and tasty. Loved the food, the place is incredibly family-friendly, clean and cozy and the staff is very nice as well. Would give 5stars...but. . . . I have worked as a waitress myself and in no place in the world would I correct a customer even if they said the name of the dish wrong thousand times over. But that's not even the point, given that the restaurant is in "Italian style" and I was actually using the correct (italian) pronunciation of the dish. What baffled me the most is being asked if I am waiting to get my change back. This is something completely unacceptable - it depends on the customers whether they decide to tip the service or not and how much. "Are you waiting to get your change back?" equals "Aren't you willing to tip us the difference of what you were charged and what you paid?" I believe this is not based on a cultural difference - the process of paying is: getting a bill-paying it-getting your change back-tipping (unless you pay directly to the waiter and agree on a tip sum in person). And trust me, if not asked, I would have been happy to tip more, especially with the great prices they have for a sunday lunch for 9.90! Lastly, being called señorita and señora all the time (which is in SPANISH and is not the same thing) was a laugh at first but a repeated use is just...meh. (Grazie and Gracias - also not the same language). Overall I really liked the place and would recommend.👍 P.S. Americano is normally not an instant coffee ☕, just call it what it is, it is still a good bargain.

Steak not rested so bleeding into the plate it was medium rare. Dolcelate sauce definitely NOT dolcelta. Not blue cheese an insipid sauce. Pate bought in tasteless.

Good value lunchtime menu. A bit heavy on the raw onions and balsamic drizzle for our tastes - more like low cost pub food. Nice lasagne. Good potato skins. They will pack the remains of your pizza as a 'doggy bag'.

Bruschetta starter was good but main meals weren't the best. Canneloni was fatty and the Kiev was swimming in butter. Staff friendly and service was good.

The atmosphere and friendliness of the staff was good. Clean and tidy. The food was average though. The 3 dishes out of 5 we had were deep fried which was not what we expected. Deep fried Chicken Kiev? The homemade cheesecake had a stale base...
