Cafe Sambuca in Northumberland

After being let down by another Italians in Blyth we got booked into Sambucas! This was a blessing in disguise even though the place was packed we were greeted with plenty of friendly staff at our beck and call nothing was a problem. You can tell how popular this place is and it’s not because of the cheap food. Everything was delicious and fresh at a bargain price and don’t forget they do two for £10 cocktails. This restaurant knows exactly how to run a business you can tell by the success of the place it’s just done right!

Always great, friendly service. The food is excellent. Especially the jambalaya chicken. Toilets spotless -always a good indication of overall hygiene. A bit noisy when it's busy - you have to shout to be heard across the table. Seems like that's part of the Italian experience though. Or me getting old. We'll be back very soon.

Wow what a amazing time! We visited here on Saturday for my mam birthday we were a big party so we were ask to go wait in their waiting area which was quite cozy and relaxing after about 5-10mins we were taken to our table but the staff were so friendly they always remember who you are and even if they don't know you they are so friendly anyways We got to our table we got about 5-10 mins to look at the menu before they came and tuck of drinks order we were told we all had to pay together was they couldn't do split the bill as they had issues in the past which we all were ok with We got our drinks the not long afterwards we were asked what me wanted to eat the waiter was so kind as I could say what I wanted and he was understanding which was amazing as not place will help or willing to wait until another person in Ur party can help u we all got our food ordered which didn't take long to come to us We then finished are starter and main off they were both lovely However we came to ordering our pudding and for some reason the person who tuck this order got it slightly wrong but was quickly resolved which was amazing When we came to the end of our visit they all said thanks you which has never changed and I hope it stays this way Also while we were there it was a little girl birthday and how they treat her was amazing and so funny I so recommend this place to anyone and definitely be coming back as the service is 110% if not more as it always has been and the food aspecilly if you get the meal deal is cheap and well worth it

Just had an amazing meal here. Absolutely delicious! I went for a spag bol and it was the best I've had in years. My husband had calzone which didn't disappoint. Packed full and very tasty. The profiteroles are something special too. Lovely service. Very friendly. Very reasonably priced too. If you're after a decent authentic Italian meal I would highly recommend Sambuca. Will definitely go back if in the area again.

Was recommended to eat here and so pleased we did. The food was AMAZING and to be honest the best I have eaten. Norwich is a long place to just come from and have a meal but I 100% would travel again for one!! Nice to see a NCFC scarf in the bar area 😀

Having moved to Blyth earlier this year I have only found sambuca’s in the last few months we had a large family meal in October all the meals arrived together, were all hot and delicious service was outstanding since then have been several times for lunch and with friends for dinner, again couldn’t fault anything. This restaurant offers great value for money and would recommend a visit.

Absolutely amazing service everytime. I have other sambucas closer to me but would always rather travel to the Blyth one. staff are always super friendly and go above and beyond. my kids love when I say where going here too which is always a bonus 100% recommend. I will most definitely be back 🙏

Eleven of us met for lunch. We were all served almost together and the meals were piping hot. I think we all chose the special lunch, which at £7.99 for three courses was excellent value. I had potato skins followed by arribiatta, which was lovely but a little bit heavy handed with the chilli. I still managed to eat it all. The ice cream afterwards was very welcome to cool off my mouth. No complaints though as everything was lovely.

Lovely place to visit. I took my 9 year old granddaughter for tea. The staff were really good with her, making her a strawberry princess mocktail which was delicious and making sure she was happy and comfortable. The potato skins, pasta bolognese and strawberry ice cream were also delicious. The ambience was warm and welcoming. There is free parking at the back of Sambucas. What more could I want. :)

Lovely food. Potato skins were so good, margarita pizza was lush. The ice cream was good. A bargain for the lunch special (12pm to 4pm). For 3 courses it's 7.95 So worth it! Very empty though but lovely staff

It's always a pleasure to go dine in this little gem of a restaurant. The personnel that work there make you feel right at home and always with a smile and cheerful service.

Service was great, didn't have to wait long for food. Bruschetta and garlic mushroom starters were delicious. Pasta for mains, again delicious. Great value for money.

I was ill after eating the lasagna and a few hours later the fun began and lasted five days. I went to the gp the next morning she diagnosed food poisoning. I had cereal in the morning and this at night. It was very rich and a bit greasy.

Fantastic restaurant, superb food and excellent value. 3 course lunch menu value is incredible. Lovely staff and really lovely decor. Wow just wow!!

Dinner was nice but I do prefer my meat cut of the joint and not sliced fom the shop I would go again the potato skins were nice

Food was nice but the meat on the Sunday Dinner was sliced meat but not carved from a joint that's been done that day the starter was good only thing was the meat didn't have much taste.

Called in yesterday for lunch and they fitted us in without booking. Had a fab meal Poll al crema and pizza. Really friendly team, great food and very reasonable on the wallet.

Waited 10 mins before getting drinks, ordered meals.starter arrived within reasonable time but then sat with empty plates in front of us for nearly 15 mins while staff walked to ast and just ignored us, people who have arrived after us has had there meals cooked and served to them while we still wait.

Fabulous food, staff and the wine was rather good too. We will be back.

Love this place. We go every time we visit our daughter. The food is brilliant and the prices are amazing. The service is absolutely 5 star, can't do enough for you. Very friendly, warm atmosphere.

This was our first visit, the food was excellent the mussels fresh and tasty we all had different mains and everyone praised their dishes, pizzas and steaks came out piping hot and delicious can’t wait to return.

We had the lunchtime specials £7-49 for 3 courses it was all tasty hot and very filling

Just visited today a friend and I. I was totally blown away by the fantastic service from the waiter I believe to be called Mario. He was so professional, polite and just went out of his way to make our visit enjoyable. The food was lovely and the atmosphere lovely too. Just a lovely day overall made even better with such lovely staff,staff that go that extra mile to make sure you remember your visit and return again in the future. Well done all at Sambuka this service is very rare these days.x

customer service terrible. I think if the man who seated us smiled his face may have cracked. Constantly asking if we wanted pepper i personally think to mask the flavour of the terrible taste. The food was so greasy it took 3+ napkins to dab it up just so it was slightly edible. Pizza base was undercooked and soggy. Not worth the money. Not impressed atall had a sore stomach for hours after.

Starter and main full of grease, taste pure garlic. Waiter over shoulder constantly with salt and especially pepper. Dabbed 3 napkins over pizza when arrived and was still soggy and bland. Both me and my girl bad stomach for hours after. Shame because same restaurant in Cramlington just 3 miles away was amazing. Just bad.

We had a large booking (22 people) here on a Saturday evening and the whole evening was fantastic. Food was excellent, everyone loved their meals and considering we were such a large party there were no mix ups! Service was outstanding, the staff were so friendly and accommodating. Would definitely recommend and look forward to our next visit!

We've been touring the Sambucca Restaurants and this is absolutely the best so far. The staff are brilliant, very accommodating and patient. The food is exceptional and the attitude and awareness around disabilities and communication is second to none.

An excellent restaurant with an efficient delivery service as a bonus. Tonight’s perfectly tender juicy steak, fresh, crisp mixed salad, tasty Cajun fries and crispy crunchy onion rings with melting centres was an absolute treat. Compliments to a great chef, delectable menu and the smartest, most respectful delivery staff in the area. Not exactly my nearest restaurant but absolutely the best in these parts, I wouldn’t order from anywhere else. Thanks again, Blyth Sambuca x

Meal was fabulous tasted great and looked delicious. The staff very friendly and food was hot. Made to feel comfortable and enjoyed the meal.

We go to Sambucas in Blyth quite often for Sunday lunch. It is fab, we always have a roast dinner and it is great, love the home made yorkshire puddings. The team are really friendly and always find us a table, we never book !!!

I ordered the garlic mushrooms, and a mushroom pizza, I also ordered the apple pie and custard, but didn't take a photo, it was quick and friendly service would be happy to return. Food was lovely.

Another great visit to Sambuca Blyth, we’ve never had a bad meal here! Lovely staff and lovely food, they especially make a fuss of my daughter which goes down so well. A lovely place to eat.

We took our son and grandchildren for a meal at about 6.30. all our meals were lovely and the staff were great! No problems at all !

My first visit to Sambuca, I was very impressed, I thought opting for the lunchtime special ( £7.95 ) would mean smaller portions but not a bit of it. The starter options were soup or potato skins, we both had the skins, large plate ( not a tiny bowl ) with two dips and coleslaw. The mains were pizza or pasta options from the regular menu, I have to say I have never been a fan of traditional Italian pizza but this one was perfect, crispy on the crust and soft in the middle with just the right amount of Bolognese sauce, the desert was Italian ice cream with cream. We are definitely going back, probably on steak nite.

We don't eat out very often these days and a short trip into Blyth for lunch suits us well. We love Sambuca. Pizza, glass of wine and finished with an espresso is just perfect. We are pretty fussy about pizza. Must be thin and crispy crust. Just what we get here. The staff are always welcoming and nothing too much trouble. We like to order 2 different pizzas and share half of each. No problem at Sambuca, the chef does half and half for us. So much easier than trying to cut them in half and pass them between us at the table. Thanks, Sambuca. We won't be your biggest spending or frequent customers but definitely most appreciative.

Portions are smaller than the Sambuca's in Consett and Peterlee and costs a pound more for their lunch deal. At Consett and Peterlee you get 3 scoops of ice-cream but at Blyth you only get 1. Pasta was overcooked as well.

Steak was unreal,fast and efficent

We booked a table for 4 and as soon as we entered the waiter was there to show us to the table. We all had starters and main courses The food was amazing the best sambuccas I’ve ever been to the portions were really good bigger than any normal sambuccas. Main courses were delicious we had a mixture of all food steaks chicken Kiev and lasagna every dish was delicious. Every waiter waitress and manager were very pleasant and could not be more of assistance to make sure we enjoyed our meal. I WILL definitely be back for more of there delicious food.

We have been twice now, the food is lovely and very good value. We have been lucky enough to be looked after by the same young blonde hair lady both times, unfortunately we didn’t get her name, but she was brilliant with our little girl but also so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Thank you so much !!!
