The staff in the restaurant was superb. Emese was our waitress and the Host was Harshie. The chef, Frank, was very helpful and kind. Excellent food.

The food and service were excellent. I had the T-bone steak, medium rare, cooked just right. The side salad and unlimited fries were quite good as well. My wife loved her lobster, salad and fries. We also got drinks -- a wine and a gin & tonic and a postmeal coffee -- and the bill came to 89 pounds. Really not a bad deal considering the quality and quantity of the food. Our server was very nice, attentive and efficient. There is a nice hotel lounge right next door for drinks beforehand, and the restaurant is located very near a tube station. I definitely highly recommend this place.

The service was great and food was delicious but the main restaurant was being used for a private group so the atmosphere wasn’t the best.

Lobster was really fab but salads very poor. Pay more attention to veggie options: a bowl of spinach with four slices of apple and a few walnuts is not acceptable as a main course.

The dessert « Cheesecake Caramel » not light.. I think the dessert must be light after a tasty meal. And not choice of dessert, not dessert with fruits. That’s a shame...

The lobster, fries, cheese bites and service were amazing... but sent the Steak back twice and it was still awfull, took it home and gave it to the cat who wasn't impressed either. But everything else was delicous

Had high expectations but was left underwhelmed by the average quality of the food. My steak was not succulent & tender enough. The paucity of my lobster portion left me yearning for more. Strangely enough the best part of my dinner was the eat as much as you like lemon salad!! Will sadly not be returning in a rush.

We spotted this place en route to Covent Garden from our hotel and went there as an easy choice for the evening after a full day. Didn’t try the lobster, but can 100% recommend the fillet steak - perfectly cooked for each of us. Service superb - best I’ve experienced in many a restaurant. Unpretentious, unobtrusive, yet attentive. And very busy. If you get James as your waiter, lucky you. He knows his stuff!

The food was excellent and had a varied menu that would suit a lot of people. The unlimited fries and salad was a nice addition to a reasonably priced menu. The atmosphere was great and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely dine here again!

I had the lobster and my son had steak. He enjoyed the steak a lot. My lobster was a little dry and next time I will have it steamed. I had to wait a little while for my lemon garlic sauce but overall the food was good. <br />When we sat we were offered water which turned out to be bottle at just shy of a fiver but there was fresh tap water availble as I saw it bought to other tables. There is a discretionary 12.5% added to the bill.<br />The restaurant was busy and therefore quite loud, next time i will come at a less crowded time of day.

Comfortable, friendly, stylish but not overly stylised, excellent value for fairly simple food done very well. The Children&#039;s menu especially is outstanding value as are the free flowing fries and salad (which is delicious). Highly recommended as a pre-theatre dinner, or any time at all really!

We enjoyed our meal but the lobster was a little chewy - should have asked for steamed instead of grilled - and the ribeye steak was quite fatty and sinewy but tasty and cooked well. Could not fault the service and the ambience of the restaurant.

Yes if the service was a bit better. Long wait to be asked if we would like food or a drink. Missing onion rings off of the order for 2 at the table Had read and coffees after the meal and had to ask for milk 5 times! By which time the teas and coffees were cold. Also had workmen doing something to the floor 3-4 meters from our table and staff moving tables and chairs around at the time. So whilst the food was very good the whole experience was ruined by poor table service and a lack of consideration for those eating by works taking place at the time of our meal

Found this to be one of the worst restaurant experiences I have had. Given the price - the steak was clearly fatty cheap cuts of meat. My partner ended up leaving most of hers and the lobster roll was a joke. Hardly any Pieces of lobster in there and covered in mayo. considering its pricing the value for meal was disappointing and to be frank quite cheeky. This meal was celebratory for a new job and we ending up leaving dissapointed. The seating was also poor with people constantly squeezing walking past the back of my partners chair. Would never eat here again and wish we had chosen somewhere else to celebrate.

First time went to steak and robster with my girl.<br />It was fanstastic, staff are very friendly atmosphere is amazing. Looking forward to go back and have steak and lovster again.

Good location, reasonably priced. Service was good and quick. Ideal for pre-theatre meals.

The dining experience was incredible. The service was spot on and recommendations were perfectly suited for us. And the food was absolutely amazing. The crispy flat smoked beef tacos were heavenly and the steak in the surf n turf literally melted in your mouth. I highly recommend this restaurant for date nights or special occasions. I will definitely be back!

It&#039;s difficult to review this restaurant properly because we didn&#039;t actually get to eat here! My husband and I were in town for the weekend and, because we don&#039;t know London that well, my daughter booked Steak &amp; Lobster for us. We were going to see a musical, so she booked a table for 10.30pm (after the show). We arrived at the restaurant at around 10.20pm, were seated at our table and given menus. When the wait staff came over to take our drinks order, they told us that the kitchen closed at 10.30pm so we had to order straight away. We hadn&#039;t even had time to look at the starters or mains. I asked them why they had a table available at 10.30pm if they stopped serving food then. The wait staff were really nice, but it was very frustrating. We ended up walking around London, trying to find somewhere else to eat. This wouldn&#039;t have been a problem had we known our way around, it wasn&#039;t so late and we weren&#039;t completely starving. My top tip would be don&#039;t offer tables when you can&#039;t actually serve food! Such a shame as the reviews were good and we were looking forward to eating here.

Disappointed with our table service, who in their right mind will pay £5per person knowing there&#039;s 12 of us to cut our own birthday cake. Really????<br />I&#039;ve never heard so much bs after spending £400 a mediocre meal.

Vibe was 80s yuppie power wag wannabe. Steak was decent, lobster was good standard. Their ‘famous’ mason jar full of chocolate etc had no honeycomb and far too much fudge, and serving it in a jar made it a bit of a faff to get at but I guess the reasoning here is that if you’re happy to mess about getting edible bits out of a lobster you’re alright with a pudding in a wrong vessel. Service was good, Stella our waitress was kind and polite.

The food was great, although the steak could benefit from a garlic butter or some type of seasoning on it. Never got asked if I’d like a steak sauce to accompany my steak only minor but I’d forgotten to order it and you nearly are always asked that question. Would be great to get a few more cocktails on the drinks menu also. Definitely will be returning though next time for the lobster!

I love the comfortable feel of this place – having a balanced treatment of privacy and great service from the waiters. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The steak was amazing and the ultimate fries and salad was fantastic ! Everyone loved the flat iron steak. There was also great Service which was well-timed and friendly. the food was amazing, i would definitely recommend steak and lobster to friends and family. especially a waiter julius who treated me and my friends amazingly

I treated my dad to this restaurant as be loves sea food. I bought him the lobster and i bought the steak. My dad really enjoyed the lobster as it tasted really good and was prepared well, although he thought the portion could have been larger for the price. I really enjoyed my steak and it was done medium well. I also agree that the portion could have been larger especially how you are entitled to an unlimited amount of fries throughout the meal. <br /><br />Staff was really nice and really friendly. They made us feel welcome and catered too. We would come back one day for sure. Definitely recommend to friends and family.

The steaks were great we were a party of 6 people celebrating my wife’s 50th birthday the only<br />negative which seems to be the norm in a lot of places now was the service charge added the the bill and I think £25 is a little excessive, I know you don’t have to pay but you just feel obliged and I prefer to leave the tip based on the service received and knowing the people who serve you get the money.

I went here for my birthday on Saturday 2nd March. I was with 4 others. We ordered drinks and was waiting over 30 mins. We then got our drinks &amp; ordered our starters &amp; mains which we asked to come together. Our mains came 1 hour later with only 2 of our starters. Two of my party finished their mains before their starters even came, we asked our waitress to see where they were and she informed us that they were coming. When they came they didn’t look nice they were burnt and looked raw. One of my party sent hers back and the other two didn’t eat them. Our waitress noticed and removed all 3 from the bill kindly. We then ordered 2 lemonades only 1 came and we waited 30 mins for the other lemonade. My main was cold and over cooked. I ordered ‘bring it together’. My steak was over cooked I ordered medium/ well &amp; it was extremely well done. My lobster was dry and cold to the point where the garlic buttter dried out and I had to order more from the waitress. I didn’t want to send the food back because we was all so hungry. The cocktails were lovely though. I am extremely disappointed. I contacted the restaurant and I’ve had no reply.

Pretty awful experience. The service here is the worst service I’ve ever experienced. Drinks took half an hour to come and the waiter forgot almost everything we asked for. If you want nicer food and much better service, go to Burger &amp; Lobster!

I made a reservation last night for 2 people at 8:30pm for a birthday celebration. Booking online gave me a choice of event and venue, to which I chose this destination as it seemed the most appealing. <br />Whilst booking, I made it known it was for a birthday occasion. Online I was asked for any special requests; in which I asked for a birthday plate for pudding. I also reminded one of the waiters when we arrived. <br />Our waitress throughout the evening was very attentive and polite. However when our pudding arrived, there was a normal pudding from the menu with no birthday addition to it....<br /><br />Overall I am very disappointed as the restaurant was not busy, therefore the table of 8 behind us who were overly loud and evidently drunk seemed more noticeable. It disrupted the evening and I would have maybe expected someone in the restaurant to ask them to respect other paying customers evening by quietening it down a little. <br /><br />In addition, I requested a sauce for my steak that never arrived. (This was rectified as our lovely waitress took it off the bill) <br /><br />The food was lovely however overall, left disappointed.

My son and I went there to have a lunch after visiting British Museum. The receptionist gave us very warm welcome, and served by a lovely waitress. The food was gorgeous - I had a surf &amp; turf, which beef steak was very tender and lobster meat was juicy and scrumptious. We would definitely like to come back again.

I was very disappointed with the restaurant, it was a special occasion for my family and I. I am a frequent visitor to this restaurant yet this time I was appalled and embarrassed by the way the dinner went . The food wasn’t cooked correctly , drinks didn’t come we had to ask 3/4 times before it was received. Some people’s food didn’t come until the rest of the party had almost finished. The manager came didn’t really care didn’t check if there was anything else they could do. Truely disappointing.

The steak wasn’t properly cooked, try cook it much better and less chewy

The service was good, my food was nice but my ribeye steak had a lot of hard fat through it that could not be chewed. This meant roughly 30% of my steak was wasted. I did mention this to a supervisor and I had a drink deducted from the bill. Luckily as it was a Thursday it wasn’t busy which meant we were seen too swiftly.

Steak cooked to perfection. Simple but beautiful. Stella was a wonderful hostess, thank you.

If you are expected a steakhouse experience, this is not it. Service is not good. Employees are friendly but not attentive. Drink service was impossible. Food was fair. It is trying to be trendy steakhouse but in reality it is no more than fast casual fare. It was disappointing.

The worst service I’ve ever experienced in any restaurant!!<br />Took a long time to get seated. <br />Far to long to get served. <br />Ordered drinks that never turned up. <br />Supposed to get unlimited fries, however, nobody asked if we wanted anything else!<br />Not asked if everything was ok with the meal.<br />To top things a service charge of 12.5% is automatically added to the bill. I had this removed!

Terrible service, we called ahead to notify them that we would be running late. When we arrived we were informed that our table had been cancelled and the next table wouldn&#039;t be available for over an hour. We were offered a table in the bar area which we declined because of the numerous dirty tables which had bottles and plates from finished meals surrounding the bar area. The entire experience was very poor and I will not be returning.

The service was terrible,<br /><br />We ordered our drinks and food together, no drinks came. Kept asking, I asked 2 different people 3 times each. Still nothing. I had to go to the manager. Even then nothing changed. She altered the bill to have £8 off? (Considering the amount we paid anyway, and the poor service!!!)<br />1 free cocktail, which can I say tasted nothing like the ones we bought at the bar (was exactly the same drinks we ordered, we couldn’t even drink them) at this point I was so fed up with questioning. <br />Honestly. It was so disappointing,<br />My main was terrible, the steak, but my partner enjoyed his lobster, although it was Lukewarm ... <br />We was not the only one complaining about the service. The temperature of food. Or missing things that we ordered. <br />The people on either side of our table was complaining as well. <br />I know we went on Valentine’s Day, but if you’re unable to serve due to the amount of customers, either employ more staff knowing it’s going to be busy or, don’t take on so much bookings.

Terrible evening spent in S&amp;L. The service was so slow it wasted our entire evening. It took them around an hour to let us pay and leave, I had to ask over 4 times to 2 different waitresses if I could pay but the waitresses decided to start taking more orders from new arrivals which left us totally confused and frustrated. I even asked the women who appeared to be in charge of the floor and she said “she’s coming”. I thought what do you mean she’s coming? The card machine was on the side and it takes 5 minutes! Instead we waited an hour which then took us 5 minutes to pay and leave. Absolutely atrocious service from this sub par restaurant for what it is. I even asked if I could pay at the bar because we just wanted to leave after we’d finished, however they said we couldn’t and still just carried on taking orders from more tables with us sitting there looking around waiting.<br /><br />Total backwards mentality from everyone in the restaurant, it was like they didn’t know what they were doing. Would highly avoid, don’t have your evening ruined like ours was, stay away!

The service was absolutely terrible. We had to wait 30 mins until we even ordered drinks &amp; food, and that was only because we had to call over the waitress, so no idea how long we would have been waiting. Once we had ordered food and drinks, we still hadn’t even got any water so by this point we was 40 minutes in with absolutely nothing. The food finally came, but still no drinks. I had asked the waitress 3 times for the drinks.

A good proposition: simple, well done, and a pleasant atmosphere. Very buzzy on a cold Saturday evening. Good service, especially as they let me change table to avoid a draft.

The service was really good the staff were very accommodating as well. We both ordered the surf &amp; turf because who doesn’t want steak &amp; lobster at a restaurant with the same name. My partner and I ordered medium well steaks they were both delicious &amp; perfectly cooked but I got the chargrilled lobster which wasn’t really to my liking and it was quite small and lacked butter/flavor. My partner ordered his lobster steamed and was AMAZING we went for his birthday so I’m glad it was as he expected. I’d recommend ordering the steamed lobster with the sauce they originally add to it because although it says spicy it’s really not it’s a perfect blend of seasonings, herbs and butter! (I absolutely cannot handle anything spicier than black pepper so trust me it isn’t spicy)

This is essentially a steak or lobster restaurant. There was only 2 offerings of steak AND lobster - one at £18.00 which is an expensive/overpriced hotdog bun meal. The other is at £36.00 which is also pricey.<br />Quality was good but you never got the feeling that you were getting value.

Outstanding cuisine with a lot of options, yet few and good. Been there twice while visiting London, and will definitely visit next time also.

This was my second visit to the Bloomsbury branch of Steak and Lobster and both the service of the Wait staff and food quality was amazing! The waiters explained the difference between the different cuts of steak and even helped me crack my lobster claw open (I’m a complete novice). I would definitely recommend this specific branch of the restaurant.

We had High expectations as we eat in beef and lobster in Ireland. Was disappointed in comparison. I had mailed and asked for two glasses of Prosecco to brought to our table as a little surprise for my wife’s 30th birthday. We didn’t get the Prosecco we didn’t even get asked if we wanted desert. We didn’t even get asked did we want to order any more drinks. It was drink and food order at the beginning and never seen a waiter after. Had to ask twice for the bill. No one asked was our food ok or anything.

Great food for steaks. Had the surf &amp; turf but the &quot;surf&quot; was a bit disappointing. Extremely small half lobster with hardly any flesh inside.... The steak however, for +$2.- you can chose the fillet - do it!, was extremely good. Well seasoned and very tender. One of the best steaks I had recently.<br />One recommendation for the owner: please change the look of this restaurant. You&#039;re literally getting the feeling your having dinner in a hotel breakfast area (which is actually the case).

Slow service.. waited over an hour for a table we booked in advance, then every course took ages to come out; still waiting for the dessert that never arrived haha. No discount, complimentary drink or anthing to apologise; didnt really seem to care too much at all. Overall rubbish food and rubbish experience, we wont be returning!

It was quite difficult to find as the restaurant is part of a hotel and it did not have a sign. <br />They were really accommodating as we were late and we were still able to get our table. <br />Due to New Years Eve the restaurant was very busy and it took a long time to be served and it meant that we did the countdown in the restaurant which the restaurant did not acknowledge. <br />We ate from the New Years menu but this was the same as the normal menu it was slightly cheaper. <br /><br />Stand out for me was the beef salad. The beef was so tasty. Next standout was the caramel cheesecake. <br />I was so busy eating that I forgot to take pictures.

This was our 6th Year celebrating NYE at this restaurant. We felt that that they were trying to push the set menu on us despite knowing that it was not effective until 6pm. The service was the worst we have experienced in the 6 years that we have been there, the staff seemed disorientated despite it not even being that busy. Took ages to get our drinks and menus and clipboards were left on our table we had to ask them to remove it. The food was good as always so I would recommend it based on this.

We ordered 1 dressing, which we didn’t get, so we had to ask for it again and were charged for it on the bill. And the strawberry dessert, hmm., maybe 1 whole strawberry was used, a bit disappointing. <br /><br />I don’t believe it is the last time we dine there, we just got a bit unlucky...

To be honest, I have stayed at the hotel many times but, this was the first time I used this as a special occasion dinner.<br />I booked for a New Years Eve special evening, however the service was poor, and at the time I booked for it was early, so shouldn’t of been a problem. We upgraded our main for surf n turf, well! The lobster was so small, there was hardly any meat at all.<br />Very disappointed to be honest.<br />Sorry

We are tourists in London getting Christmas supper from Steak and Lobster. We arrived earlier then the reservation time at 4 pm and had to wait 20 minutes for our table. They were understaffed, had to take our order twice because the first waitstaff was new. Took 45 minutes for them to get our drinks and almost an hour for our first course to arrive. Food was delicious but offset by the long wait and disorganized service. One would think that they would be more organized for a limited Christmas menu.

I’d always wanted to visit this establishment. Booked Xmas day lunch for me and my partner and was not disappointed. <br />If there was a gripe it’s because I thought there service charges were tad on the high side. <br />Other than that, the food and was very good. Chips are to die for. Service was great too. <br />Would highly recommend

I am quit disappointed with my visit as the service was so poor. We ordered as normal and the drinks arrived so late imagine my son already hadalmost finished the food and still no non alcoholic cocktail for him. My husband Als most had a go with the waitress but he realised that it’s not her fault if there is not enough staff. <br />The services is so poor. I did not feel special in that place even though we spend so much !<br />In the end we did not had any dessert. So we walk along the street to find a better place. <br />I must mentioned that compliment to the chef as the steak is one of the best steak I ever tasted ! <br />So it’s a shame.

It was a horrendous experience, and I booked this restaurant as I had been before and had a great experience. The service was shocking, every single order, food and drinks, was wrong, and the whole experience was incredibly disappointing.

I booked a table for dinner on my birthday and they gave a small table in a corner. The room was full, extremely noisy, poor lighting I couldn&#039;t see my food, food is served in a plank of wood, so in terms of the environment, it was dreadful. The food wasn&#039;t so bad and I can&#039;t complain about the price, after all, it was steak and lobster. I will give it another chance at lunch maybe I can see the food this time.
