The best restaurants serving Italian food in England

Visited Botteginos today, the food was lovely, hot and brought out quickly. The vegetarian options are good although maybe some pizza choices with different cheeses on (goats, blue etc) may give the options a bit more of a variety. The kids menu was good and it seemed nothing was too much trouble. Our waitress was Rimi and her attention to detail was brilliant. She ran around for us and made us feel like we were the only table in the restaurant, even though it was busy. She even realised it was my birthday and got the rest of the staff to unexpectedly sing to me. So all in all, the food was delicious and the service was 10/10. Thank you. We will return.

A long, narrow restaurant area with simple decor, edged by a high glass front & the open kitchen area at the back. It was very quiet at the time of our visit (~5pm on a Bank holiday Monday) with about 6 other people present. Small tables fill the area, with chalkboards listing specials & bottles of limoncello & other spirits decorating the walls. The staff were friendly & helpful, describing the food on offer. Only bottled beers were available as the beer tap was out of order. A list of about 12 pizzas were offered on the menu with a diverse range of tastes and flavours. We could see the pizzas being prepared & baked in the kitchen's pizza oven. They were excellent & all diners were really happy with them. There was a 12.5% service charge automatically applied, taking a £64 bill for four pizzas & two 330ml bottles of drink to £72, which I always prefer to be purely my choice. The venue is on the ground floor with no steps. Overall, the staff were polite, the food was really good if a bit pricey.

Been many times before , service was food and so was the food , enjoyed the cocktails and will come back again , good value for money

I just want to know why there is a piece of glass and a door instead of just an open area/ hallway. Apart from that, AMAZING, WOULD RECCOMMEND

Have been a few times and enjoyed the food and service. Went for anniversary. Food was okay paid the service charge happily, however was slightly disappointed with no reference to a celebration when I listed it on the booking.

Este restaurante nunca decepciona. Llevo años viniendo aquí y no importa cuando como en el restaurante, la comida es excepcional. Este es el restaurante favorito de mi familia. Si aún no has reservado mesa, te lo estás perdiendo

Always excellent here, never lets us down

Bueno, qué puedo decir. Las camareras eran tan atentas, llenando nuestros vasos tan a menudo que salimos por la puerta! 😆 La comida era insuperable. Nos sentamos en la zona de la terraza en el hermoso sol y sentimos que estábamos de vacaciones. Sin duda volveremos una vez que nuestro hígado haya descansado 😂. En serio, lugar fabuloso y recomendaría a fondo.

We had a lovely evening at Bella me and my friend, Brody was are waitress she was chatting bubbly and super friendly lovely food great service would recommend. Great deals too and the spritz’s drink are amazing.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Calling this place Italian is an insult to Italy. They served cotoletta with pasta on the side, because apparently, culinary crimes are on the menu. Mediocre quality and truly awful taste. Avoid if you have taste buds!!

i decided to try the parmo, one of the best parmo's I've ever had, I ordered the meat feast but asked to have olives added on which they did for me, it was piping hot and all good quality ingredients, big fresh chunky chips and nice fresh salad, it was gorgeous, my partner had the mixed shwarma plate and said the same thing, piping hot and all good ingredients, this is our third time using this place over the last few weeks and will be ordering from here more often , thanks it was lovely 😀

A colleague and ate here while attending a course. The waitress greeted us warmly and asked where we wanted to sit and then quickly brought menus and sorted our drinks. We chose starters and mains both of which were very nice. Several regulars were in and I can see why. Highly recommend
