Sexy Mamma Love Spaghetti in Nottingham

Great evening to celebrate our colleagues new role. Foods was delicious, staff was nice even though there were some misunderstandings at the beginning of why the tables were moved. Had to explain it was moved for us from the 1st staff to accommodate our big group. 2nd staff questioned us and apologised after speaking to the 1st staff who sat us down. Maybe not an ideal place for large gatherings. Apart from that misunderstanding we all enjoyed the foods.

Service was very good. Attentive but not overbearing. My food was very good indeed. A small wine selection pushed me towards the house red, which turned out to be a good place to be. I would jump at the opportunity to return.

We were told they do not take bookings so we waited outside the restaurant for at least an hour. When we were finally seated we weren’t given menus as they do not provide them. We were served complimentary bread with olive oil and balsamic and our food and drinks came out fairly swiftly. The food was very enjoyable and was a moderate, but fair price. The restaurant is small and was crowded but would visit again! The tiramisu is to die for.

The most delicious food I've ever had!

Really lovely atmosphere, the tiramisu is the best I've ever had and the waitress we had with the pink flower clip was so nice and attentive, really lovely!

Positive that although small the atmosphere was good. Apart from that the food was nothing special not much variety and should really class as fast food as waitresses are on you as soon as plate is empty or cutlery put down. 2 courses in 30 minutes and table being relaid before we had even got coat on

Lovely pasta served here! Really enjoyed my meal. Be aware that its quite small, so given a small table to sit at but it's still a great place to dine.

We shared the burrata (two whole pieces) starter with tomato (it's only 1 but chopped) with ciabatta, these were very fresh. King prawn spaghetti with chilli was great, so was the tortellini, again very fresh! We shared the panna cotta dessert, one of the better panna cottas we have had. I did get food envy seeing other's who ordered the penne bolognese. Pricewise, it was a little pricey, starter was £9, mains were around £12-14.50 and dessert was £7.50, but that's just the way things are now. Service wasn't very welcoming nor warm, but they were very quick to take orders, bring food and take plates away etc. Atmosphere personally wasn't great; we sat downstairs which was quite cramped. Our table was by the stairs so kept getting nudged by the waiting staff and customers passing by. Our table was a high table and sat on stools, so not too comfortable but ok for a fairly quick lunch. Music was quite loud and upbeat, so not a chilled lunch. If you're want great Italian come here. If you're after a comfortable relaxed environment, maybe this isn't the place for you.

Teeny tiny venue, limited but good menu amazing service

First time visiting for a lunch date on Valentine’s Day, had excellent, high quality, kind and fast service from the beginning, waitresses always had a smile on their face and was quick to respond to any questions or needs! The quality of food was top tier as it is definitely one of the best pastas I’ve ever had in my life so big tops to the chef , me and my girlfriend both enjoyed our time here, it’s a cosy restaurant which we felt very relaxed and comfortable in and they had some nice jams on the radio too! I will be returning, thank you guys! (Big shoutout to Yoshi and the other waitress whom I did not catch the name of but had brown hair, they made our visit one to remember)

Good service and great atmosphere. Unfortunately you can't book a table so it can be tricky to get a spot. Food is delicious but portions are quite small for the price🙂

Has only just finished my food and was mid conversation and the waitress interrupted asking me to leave as there was a queue outside waiting to be seated. Im not one to leave bad reviews and i’m a pretty chilled out person but i was shocked by such a rude request after having just payed £60 for a meal for two. Absolutely disgraceful. The food is nice but overpriced, i definitely won’t be coming back.

Intimate and compact restaurant serving a small menu of freshly prepared dishes. We have visited many times and never been disappointed. Chef manages to make even the simplest item special, the rocket salad is delicious and we have never managed to make one as tasty at home! The service is always good, the restaurant can be a little cramped at times, but that adds to the ambience in our opinion.

Amazing find....tiny, city-centre restaurant, utterly 'home-made-feel' Italian food, fresh, tasty, good value, no frills, great service. The chicken ragu was brilliant - perfectly spicy.

Food was good. My chilli prawn pasta was extremely hot, maybe a bit too hot for me, but still good. My wife's food was extremely good also. The only let downs for my was that our food arrived before our drinks. The upstairs dining room doesn't have any background music. It feels like a separate back room. The toilet cubicle was a big messy with a broken toilet seat and could use a bit of care. All in all, a good restaurant with amazing food and lovely staff.

We went to this place today, for my daughters Birthday/Graduation lunch , food was lovely, staff were friendly, I took a cake for my daughter, they provided a candle , also gave us Complimentary Lemonchello , not overly expensive and good service.Small menu but something for vegetarians too.

I regret to share my dining experience at this restaurant today, which was somewhat disappointing overall. While placing my order, one of the waitstaff exhibited an attitude that made me quite uncomfortable. He seemed to display a discriminatory attitude, with an unfriendly tone during the ordering process, even rolling his eyes. This lack of respect made the dining experience unpleasant and negatively impacted my overall impression. However, I must fairly acknowledge the performance of the other waitstaff. Apart from the displeasing experience with one individual, the rest of the staff were friendly and provided good service. This was somewhat reassuring, but it also emphasized the inappropriateness of the behavior exhibited by the particular staff member. I hope that this restaurant takes this feedback seriously and enhances staff training, particularly in the aspects of respect and courtesy. Every customer should feel welcome and respected during their dining experience, without encountering any form of discrimination or unfriendliness. I trust that this review serves as an opportunity for improvement, leading to a more enjoyable and respectful dining experience at this establishment.

Brilliant food and an overall amazing experience - highly recommended!

Been trying for over 2 weeks to book the new restaurant in West Bridgeford for this weekend for a family birthday meal but no-one ever answers the phone. No online booking from their website, not even an email. Given up now and booked somewhere else which is a shame because we really liked both other restaurants in Nottingham city.

West Bridgford - nice enough place spoilt by inappropriate and ridiculously loud music. It was European club music at 6pm 😳 One waiter even said when delivering our food that he didn’t know what it was as he couldn’t hear the chef!! And the food was rather good. What a shame. Won’t be returning…

The size of a shoebox, but so worth it for the beautiful homemade pasta.

Visited the West Bridgford restaurant with my young family for an impromptu lunch today. The food was fantastic, showcased authentic Italian flavours, and the service was delightful. Everything is clearly made to order and no request to simplify foods was too much for my fussy children. A perfect blend of delicious cuisine and brilliant hospitality from the staff. I would highly recommend a visit if you’re in the vicinity.

Absolutely everything possible went wrong. I just wouldn't bother. Asked to move mid meal so they could make a bigger table for people waiting. Drinks served AFTER mains. Mains were tastless and I didn't see any fresh pasta. Tiny portion as a main - hard to justify even half the price. When we highlighted our concerns we were confronted with a rude male - so much for customer service. He even went to say "look how busy we are" to dismiss our concerns. To top it off we were encouraged to leave a tip. I feel they should have discounted our meal! Bread tasted stale - definitely not freshly prepared. I asked for Parmesan several times and came to the conclusion they'd run out. Unpleasant atmosphere. Squished in like sardines. Far better eateries in West B. Unfortunately this let's them down.

Visited on a Saturday night and the restaurant was overcrowded with the music which sounded like a radio station on way too loud. The menu is difficult to read and ordering can take a long time, we had tried to order our mains when we were told they were no longer taking food orders as the chef was apparently stressed. When the food arrived it was disappointing and over priced and later discovered we were charged for parmesan. A disappointing experience and will not return.

Incredibly disappointing visit to the West Bridgford restaurant. We have visited the one in Nottingham and it was one of the best Italians we have ever had. West Bridgford however was not up to the same standard. For starters the menu was practically illegible and the waiters didn’t have a clue what was on it, so couldn’t advise us on what was best to order. We ordered 2 dishes. To then be told that they had run out. Garlic bread was one of them!! My partner ordered the gnocchi which looked like the size of a starter, yet the rest of the dishes were what you would expect for the size of a main meal. It felt like we were being royally ripped off! Over priced and under whelmed, we will not be visiting again.

Whilst this is one of my favourite restaurants in Nottingham, I recently tried the West Bridgford restaurant of the same name expecting the same standard of service and authentic Italian food. How disappointed I was, I shall not return. The starter of Burrito Burrito and vine tomatoes came with huge beef tomatoes which had been cut into quarters not even finely sliced they tasted of nothing. My Tuna Nicoise which I had for main came with thinly sliced tuna, not a tuna steak, there was no egg on the salad as you expect. The potatoes had brown marks on them so I left them believing them to be old or damaged. They put pickled cucumber on the salad which is not acceptable in Tuna Nicoise. Service was pleasant if a bit obsequious. The Albariño wine was good as was the Prosecco but the food was not good and we shall not return or recommend this restaurant.

Very cramped place with a limited menu. The spaghetti noodles were definitely fresh, but the dish was bland. Wouldn't recommend.

The food was tasty but the music was so loud we could barely hear each other over the bass bass bass. It would have been nice to have seen the food as it was so dark in there. We had to use our phone torches to read the menu. We were given an extra tea light by our lovely waitress. Requests for more light and lower level music were ignored. Was there a problem with the electrics ? Waitress service was brilliant.

Went to the new one for lunch in West bridgford - average food with small portion sizes for the price. Had to order a starter after the main course as we were still hungry.

This place is great, the pasta was beautiful. My friend had something with salmon and a white wine, which he said was delicious. I had pea and mint ravioli in a cheese sauce with a red which was also absolutely delicious. Just come here if you want incredible pasta

We went to visit before seeing a show at the theatre royal. There were four of us and we arrived at 5pm there was nobody else in there but as we sat on the middle table in the restaurant we filled the place. I couldn’t believe how small and inefficiently furnished the restaurant is. The central table is high bar and chairs set up which is incredibly uncomfortable for a longer meal and dissuaded us from staying longer. It’s also the only table that would fit 3+ people. You’re not going to get on well with it if you have any kind of accessibility need. The place looked over staffed for a Thursday night and lots of staff seemed to just be standing around or staring at the door. The food itself was fine but we couldn’t relax or enjoy the experience as much as we wanted to and felt rushed. We were paid and out by 5:30. Despite receiving very average, if not slightly cold service, when it came to pay and I was tapping my card the server pointed to the gratuity options on the screen and the minimum set was 10%. Overall just quite uncomfortable and wouldn’t recommend. Maybe the other location one is better?

Was trying to have a nice relaxing meal with family and friends but they were blasting out loud awful music with a crazy bass level so having a chat and catching up was impossible. The food is ok but totally overpriced for what it is. All in all a very disappointing experience.

Not worth a visit. Food average,service appalling,upstairs scruffy and neefs a good clean. Starters overpriced for bread and little oil in horrible old dessert glaas pots. Give it a little bit more thought guys!

Visited the West Bridgford restaurant, we arrived at 8:20pm and was made to feel this time was an inconvenience for staff. After after a bit of debate with the chef, they agreed to sit us down at a ‘nice window table’. We had been put next to a very loud/ rowdy table who were just drinking! The waiter apologised to us several times for how loud they were, as well as apologising the loud thumping house music (we like house music, but this was a 5am Ibiza vibe) . The worst part was, despite the waiters apologising, the arrogant owner (who we recognised from Instagram) proceeded to join this loud and rowdy table, essentially encouraging this loud and disruptive behaviour. We had to shout to hear each other. The service was rushed but food was OK on the whole, however my girlfriend is neurodivergent, she was hugely suffering with the sound/loudness and asked to cancel our mains so we could leave. We were told they had already been cooked so our only option was to move us upstairs. I question - is this place a bar or a restaurant?! I would suggest to have an identity and stick with it.. you are new, focus on pleasing every customer! We were brand new customers, very local and would have been regulars if it was good. Now we won’t recommend this place to anyone we know

Burrata and Beef Ragu bolognaise were perfect. Some of the best pasta dishes I’ve tried. However my dessert got a little mixed up when I was given a rose pavlova instead of a vanilla one ! That’s was the only thing and I would 100% recommend.

If you expect this to be an authentic Italian dinner, you will be disappointed and need to visit another restaurant. Bread as a starter was cold. Pasta sauces were extremely watery. If you expected ragu to be minced meat, you will get chucks of beef. One of the staff members seemed bored, the other one was more helpful. They charge £1.50 if you want extra parmesan. Shame, as the atmosphere is nice. Really hope they start serving real Italian food.

A very disappointing evening. We were upstairs in a bare room with stripped plaster walls and bare floors. The acoustics were dreadful, impossible to have a proper conversation, made even worse when another group joined us in the room. The staircase up to the first floor needed a good clean. The staff were willing but appeared to have little or no training. Food was mediocre. Very disappointing when compared to meals we’ve had in the Nottingham restaurant. Come on, get your act together and don’t open rooms which aren’t ready and suitable for use!

Really enjoyed our visit to West Bridgford restaurant. Loved the music and the transparency of the open kitchen. Kudos to the team who were busy but smiling. It was a pleasure to see the cohesion of the staff working really well together-it brought a smile to my face. We had excellent service and lovely food with great music.

We almost changed our mind, due to some negative trip advisor reviews but are glad we didn’t less the deter us. We went before the theatre and the food and service was excellent and prompt. We enjoyed a meal and had time to catch the bus to town to see our show. This is a restaurant which is efficient with service, so if you want a slow meal to catch up for 90 minutes, this isn’t the place to go. We enjoyed our food -excellent pasta and look forward to going again.

We visited the restaurant in West Bridgeford for the first time if I was honest due to the name we had some doubts about going but we went in. The staff greeted us in a very welcoming way, the food was excellent surpassing all expectations and without doubt we will return

Lovely place! Food is delicious! Burrata starter is my favourite! Ravioli is super tasty! Friendly atmosphere, highly recommend! And it’s great name, it’s good to be different.

Good with friends, not so much aimed at couples or a relaxed evening meal. Been twice since it opened in West Bridgford. Both times the food was good. Once with one friend on a Thursday night and it was too rushed and far too loud. The second time was a late Sunday lunch with a big group of friends and it was much slower service (as we wanted); less noisy and more appropriate music. Go, but consider when!

Wow what can I say......the specials board...mmm....order if you feel like a game of roulette, 20 mins after ordering the waitresses come back and said they are sold out and that the chef changes the menu every hour, but they don't update the board .....then some of the food arrives but without what shown on the menu , the reply "the chef has decided not to include that" , so burrata with onion and tomatoes is now just burrata with rocket as the chef for some reason decides that he deems we no longer deserve the tomatoes and onion! When we ask about it the reply is "I can get you some if you want" but it never appears, neither does the person who we assume to be in charge of front of house, she stood and listened to the many and justified reasons we were not pleases, then disappeared never to be seen again, except for when we left , head down "too busy to acknowledge her customers". We assume she is too embarrassed by the shower of a restaurant she is working in. What they do have is a huge surplus of garlic, everything comes with a huge amount included so so so strong to the point of its massively overpowering. Let's move onto the drinks....sorry we have run out of gin (they only do one), "it's been a busy week" , same goes for Aperol and the same for the wine ....there is a Sainsbury's 4 minutes walk away! It's not a difficult problem to solve. The waiting staff look so unhappy, assumed to be because they are getting the displeasure of the customers for the chef "creative license" plates just slammed down onto the table, no engagement with their customers. So to sum up, if you'd like to go to a restaurant and order 3 things with the chance of maybe getting one, possibly getting the drink you'd like (likely not) and being served by people who would rather be somewhere else then this is the place for you....me I'll be dining elsewhere!

West Bridgford - very poor - don’t bother! On first glance looked like an appealing option but once seated they couldn’t find any menus and service took ages. When we did receive food we were very disappointed - small pot of olives with zero garnish and then some extremely stale bread with a tiny pot of olive oil and literally a tiny spot of balsamic. In fairness my steak was good, however rest of the group’s pasta was very poor - lack of flavour and had obviously been left under the heat for too long as had gone crusty on top. Can’t believe this place will survive for long.

We were very disappointed with our first experience,there were tins and boxes on the floor,the music was not with the ambient at all asked for cabbati n olive oil n balsamic just got dry crust n hardly any oil n balsamic.Hope they read reviews and try harder.Such a shame it could be better .

Thought we’d try this new venture for lunch today. Smart, clean, welcoming with friendly and attentive staff. The food was excellent with no pretentious presentation and served without undue delay. The question is, why, oh why, must these establishments have inappropriate ‘beat’ music playing at volumes that preclude any meaningful conversation? The more, shall we say ‘senior’ members of society have, for the most part and most assuredly in West Bridgford, a not inconsiderable disposable income and will happily ‘lunch’ most days in restaurants, rather than at home, but will have a reluctance to ask for the music to be turned down for fear of being labelled ‘difficult’ and as a result are unlikely to return. Leave the loud music for the evenings when the expectation is for a livelier experience and perhaps those customers who regularly go out for lunch will keep coming back.

Awful! Disgusting, overpriced food served from a dirty place! My pasta was undercooked, with bunt ham and raw fat! Portion size was tiny, they used tinned tomatoes, the garlic was in large chunks and it was too expense for what you got! The place was...

Front of house indifferent. Overpriced menu. Mains only starter sized. Lukewarm water. Dirty. Toilets have no sign, smelly, no roll holder, flimsy tissue for hand drying, rusty bin for rubbish, bare walls, no toilet brush. Food a mix of undercooked and burned, expected fresh cooked Italian food but got obvious tinned stuff thinly spread on burnt ciabatta. Not had such a poor restaurant experience for a long time.

Went to Sexy Mama in West Bridgford. Can’t recommend this place enough. Food is incredible, service is 5 star. Everyone is so friendly and attentive. The owner was around helping which really added to the ambience and vibe. This place is a must.

The place is a little small but the food is fantastic, very authentic. I love that they have a small menu but what they do they do very well. Shocking! So chaotic. Everything we ordered seemed to come as something different. It was such a stressful evening. We were pleased to get out of the place and to get home. Starters arrived and were eaten before the drinks arrived. Main courses were not filling...
