Lovely valentines day experience

Wonderful food and relaxed atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and there was no pressure to eat and go. They really looked after us and we had a wonderful celebration with our family

Hello there, I ordered mushroom risotto and my friend ordered the tomato spaghetti. The atmosphere and the service was good. But the food could be a lot better than this. I could confidently say that I cooked better than this. The rice and spaghetti is very undercooked. In my opinion they food was very lazily cooked. Thanks.

The best Italian place in town to have a tasty meal no matter what you order from the menu!!!! They have so much variety… 10/10. The staff are incredible too and they’re always looking out for you. After reading some of the reviews I was sceptical but instantly felt at ease upon my arrival... Great music and the food is 10/10 but the service was absolutely incredible! Yet to find somewhere that is as committed to showing you a good time as what is now called Sexy Mamma Love Cicchetti (small plates). The rotisserie chicken with kale and potatoes is to die for! highly recommend for a lovely evening with friends.

Over priced. My friend & I both had the mussels. Minuscule portions. Fairly tasteless. We both ordered bread as doesn’t come with anything - they charged us £3.75 each for bread. Pudding, tasty but tiny. In a nut shell over priced & under seasoned. I thoroughly recommend instead the Mowgli round the corner. We have both come home hungry. :-(

You could easily walk right past this place. Don’t. The food, service, ambience is outstanding. ABK Bavarian beer on tap and simple excellent very reasonably priced food, magical.

Best patas bravas I have ever had amongst other fresh and filling meals I tried. Great friendly conversations with the staff as well! Highly recommend as the best quick, tasty and affordable meals in Nottingham.

Sat outside in the sunshine and had a great lunch and people watching. Service was good. Would recommend for others.

Scran was banging tbf, scallops Devine. Rocket salad flew like a V2. Just went in on the spontaneous chance. Waiter looked like Pierluigi Casiraghi former Italian international. Found the red wine menu expensive.

Went to a quick lunch as always loved Edins, former owners! Food was fine tapas that came to £23 fair enough - asked for a bottle of Sauvignon blanc didn’t ask for wine list which was our mistake as bottle we got was £40 - seriously £40 for a bottle of standard Sauvignon blanc with lunch ?? No advance warning - wonder if it was the basic bottle or top priced suddenly £23 of lunch was £63! Enjoy the profit as won’t be back

Really enjoyed the food here, sat outside on a sunny day with the missus & shared a beautiful mushroom gnocchi, prawn & chilli spaghetti & a foccacia. Bueno! If I could have had a bigger portion of gnocchi I'd have been even more delighted

Wish we had left this place before eating. Half of the restaurant is closed down. Dark and dismal. Limited menu and wine list - not the same as the website. Food arrived in different times. Really horrible. Wine was expensive and bland. Both ill afterwards.

My friends and I were directed here by the Sexy Mamma Loves Pasta, as they were too full to accommodate us. We could not have been be more pleased with the service that we received and the food that we ate. The atmosphere is vibrant and lively and the food seems authentic and rustic. As visitors from Kent, we were very impressed and will definitely return next time we visit Nottingham.

I visited here today for lunch as we spotted it when walking past however I wouldn’t visit again. I ordered rigatoni Bolognese from the menu and it came with penne and the waiter dismissed it and wasn’t bothered when I pointed it out and just said well rigatoni is just thicker, how can an Italian restaraunt manage to get this wrong?! Surely this is the basics, who serves Bolognese with penne?

The Menu was limited to say the least, and the waiting staff, whilst friendly, were ill-informed on exactly what was available. We were a party of 4, three of whom chose a similar main course of Roast Chicken, the fourth choosing a Rigatoni. The latter was served a full 10 minutes before our Chicken was ready and he had obviously eaten his before we had been served. An appetiser of flat garlic bread had been brought out earlier, but part of it was so poorly cooked in the oven, that it was burnt to a cinder, literally black all over. The Specials Board consisted of "Roast Chicken" - Pizza Margarita and 2 other items. Roast Chicken was all you got, no chips, no side salad, just 1/2 a chicken!! Whenever a Margarita Pizza became a House Special at an Italian restaurant, I cannot begin to imagine. Finally, it must be the only Italian not to serve proper Coffee or any Ice Cream!! Won't be returning.

Not sure what these 2 star ratings are about - the service was impeccable, the food was delicious and the price was very reasonable! We stumbled across the restaurant whilst wondering around the city on a weekend visit and were sold by the menu written on the white board. We ordered bread with olive oil, arancini, tortellini, feta salad and padron peppers. This was a perfect quantity for 2 people for lunch and I can't fault any of it. We particularly like the tortellini!

I've been here a couple of times but this evening was my first time since lockdown. Service was brilliant, staff were lovely and everything came so quickly. Food was all delicious and loads of veggie options. Seen some really low reviews on here recently and wonder if they've accidentally reviewed the wrong place!!!

Ambience, friendly staff, good food, good wine - great time

Average food. No drinks menu or prices, only expresso and American coffee available. You have to ask for an itemised bill as there are hidden extras. We also had to ask for the payment card receipt. Won't be visiting again.

After reading the menu and seeing the appealing offerings online, my husband and I were really looking forward to enjoying a romantic evening for two in this quaint little restaurant. Our expectations dropped immensely when we were told that the menu was on the chalk board and, although not advertised on line (surely they've had plenty of time to update it!) they had a very reduced selection of meals. Coupled with this, there were no vegetables to go alongside our main course and so we ate like true carnivores just tucking into a slab of meat. Very disappointing and we won't be going here again. Shame as it's just across the road to the cinema!

Well £8.50 for three prawns and £9 for a pizza that would barely feed a child. The waiter who was a nice guy and leaving that day, advised me the staff had discussed the tiny portion size with the management but to no avail. I've never been to an Italian restaurant with such a miserly attitude! The other draw was the once served great German larger on tap, but this is no longer available and you will have to have tiny and i mean tiny bottles of poretti 4, not even poretti 6 0r 9 and by tiny i mean 250ml. I would only suggest you go if your a girl on a severe diet.

Pedí algunos platos. El cassoulet de cordero tenía cordero que era literalmente negro y quemado a cenizas. Se quejó y el chef nos dijo que nos quitáramos la parte quemada como si estuviera bien debajo. Canelones quemados hasta la base de la lata. Otros platos están bien. No volveré.

Excellent choice and atmosphere, portions are rather large for a tapas place! I'd recommend 3 dishes and a side per 2 people.

Me and my partner have eaten here 3 times now and every time has been so enjoyable. The food at the atmosphere of this place is so amazing and authentic. Even though this is a small plates style of restaurant, you still get a really good portion for each of the dishes. Every one we’ve had has been so well balanced and fresh, and you can tell quality ingredients are used to create these authentic Italian dishes. The wine is great too and the service is always attentive regardless of how busy it is. Definitely my favourite Italian restaurant in Nottingham.

... great to see the Nottingham independent places opening back up... great fresh homemade pasta (which you can cheat and take away and claim it to be your own), Italian meats and arancini... highly recommend over the more well known, high street establishments.

An amazing choice of food. Had 4 dishes between the 2 of us and it did not disappoint. Service was spot on and helpful. Price was perfectly reasonable, paid £45 of 4 dishes and 2 glasses of wine. Definitely returning.

This Italian restaurant offers "tapas" style food for lunch. They suggest two portions per person, which I agree with. 4 dishes for the 2 of us was perfect. The quality is excellent.

I came to the restaurant after a solo cinema trip the other day for a light dinner. Great value for money, quality food, and competent staff. I will definitely be visiting again. I especially recommend the fresh fish Cooked in the (rather pretty) wood fired oven!

We pre booked this before going to see a show and really enjoyed it. The place is lovely with a nice relaxed atmosphere. The staff were polite and knowledgeable on the menu when we were trying to decide what to have. We loved the small plates options which was a bit of a twist on Italian food. There were also plenty of vegetarian options for my wife. Would certainly recommend and use again

Visited one lunchtime. Slice of pizza was delicious. We wished we had just shared a pizza instead of 3 meatballs in a tomato sauce; shin of beef penne which had lots of penne, an unremarkable ragu and very little beef; half a lemon/chilli chicken which was ok; and a rocket salad which was really fresh and peppery. Background music was good. The guy who served us was really efficient but seemed a little glum. Looking at the other excellent reviews we may just have been unfortunate on the menu that day because nothing (apart from the slice of pizza) was that good.

A great small plates experience in the heart of indie Nottingham. Right now, this place is really on the money with inexpensive and tasty dishes with excellent, friendly service. A lovely mix of hearty meat and fish based dishes, plus excellent fresh salad options. Love it!

I've reviewed this place a few times quite favourably. A piece of advice. The chef doesn't work mondays and it shows in the food big style. My suggestion. Close the restaurant if you want to give them the day off.

Had a fantastic meal here last night - atmosphere was very relaxed and the staff were both very friendly and incredibly hard working. You could tell they cared and wanted to make your evening as enjoyable as possible. Our food was absolutely fantastic - we were situated right next to the wood fired oven where everything is cooked so could see our food being prepared! The food was absolutely delicious - incredibly well prepared and paired. Really enjoyed the evening, will definitely return!

Popped in for early dinner and had delicious meal.... highly recommend the slow cooked beef ribs & lentils, aubergine with harissa and the pizza was also lovely! Good range of beers and wines, all in all a lovely dining experience. We will be back soon!!

Very professional waiting service. Good experience all round with nice wines and food. Served Tapas style for sharing or trying different things. Don't be afraid to ask the waiting staff for more details on the menu as they are very knowledgeable and can help hugely in selecting.

We had lunch here because of its proximity to the Broadway cinema. The food is lovely and fresh, but on the pricey side. Decor quirky and shabby chic, but the toilet (only one), was not clean and very shabby. Thick dust on sink, toilet and pipes. In great need of updating. Waitress friendly. Owner busy making fresh pasta in the centre of the restaurant. So much to like but sack the cleaner!

Overall, enjoyed the food, restaurant's decor, and atmosphere. Disappointed with staff however who did the job but were not friendly or smiling. Experience could have been much better.
