Worst restaurant I have been to in my life disgusting food and service they need to be reported and closed down awfull you get better food out of a bin!!!!!!!

You'll be coming out, lighter in pocket than expected. Food wise is quality in presentation, light on substance. Floppy and you'll be asking was it worth it? Cocktails and drinks wise great selection. On the time we visited, service could have better, abrupt to the point of "I am holier than you", cocky eye rolling student-type. So wasn't good experience in that instance. Willing to revisit.

Incredible sourdough pizzas. Sach was absolutely great! Also who doesn’t want to try pink ice cream that’s actually salted caramel?!

Shocking service, several tables also complained, there was something 'extra' in a drink that looked like it was spat in there after we complained, owner is incompetent, rude, and generally vile, keeps trying to remove views. toilets were disgusting, filthy with damaged tiles - trip hazards to just filth, service took over an hour and a half just to get started, food was brought to table in a mess, late, and nothing arrived at the same time for everyone. how this company ever stayed in business is questionable. We were offered us a tiny discount for the food that was practically inedible. I wouldn't be surprised if they get investigated by health and safety and tax office. You would be better eating out of their toilets..

Rubbish. Poor and very young staff, amateur attitude and not serious. Took way long to make order. I was hoping for a good pizza based on reviews, but was disappointed.

Really friendly and helpful staff, nice and cozy atmosphere, quite good gluten free options as well. The food looked and tasted not bad at all, of course there's always room for improvements. Overall, it's a great place for get together, you won't be disappointed!

Had a 4 hour unpaid trial shift in September and just discovered others were treated in the same way so leaving a review. The interview made a group of about 20 people wait for an hour before starting and scheduled a trial shift soon after. The job posting was for pizza chef but was expected to learn how to make drinks at the bar a nd serve all of the food. The restaurant wasn't too busy at the time however the whole experience was terrible with no indication of how long the" trial" shift would take place for.

I worked an 8.5 hour unpaid trial shift. Prior to working the shift no information was negotiated on how long I was expected to work, what to wear etc. Myself and 2 new girls had training from a girl who had worked there for a week at that point. I was placed on the cocktail bar and expected to make £14 cocktails for people (in a champagne flute) with no experience in making cocktails and no one demonstrating what I should be doing. Behind the scenes were filthy, the three of us were expected to clean down stairs and upstairs which were literally grim. There was grime around everything, and the sinks downstairs behind the bar looked as though they had never ever been cleaned. While we were working, there was no supervisor or additional member of staff supporting the 4 of us who had little knowledge of the premises, yet alone how to run the operations. Meanwhile, management sat having a 'meeting' on the main floor with cocktails not even caring what we did. The toilets were disgusting as staff aren't required to clean them, I don't even think the bathtub gets cleaned ever. One of the girls who had a trial shift cut their faces open and the business did not even have a legal 'First Aid Book' instead it was a diary from what looked like Wilko with just a name and address in it. Before the end of our shift, we were all told we would hear off the management as to whether we had the job, then they all left and went home. We were all expected to lock the premises at the end of the night, and did not receive a break on the shift, given the hours we worked. I know of at least 5 people I have met at university who have had a trial shift here which again is unpaid, and a similar experience to mine. The Lacehouse always advertise available job vacancies and I believe it's as they 'interview people', then get them in for a long trial shift, and say they will get back to them. Therefore, they aren't paying staff. Overall, I don't advise visiting. They use social media influencers to advertise the business, yet fail to actually run it legally. (The Review is about The Lacehouse but the management is still the same people who run Happy Dough Lucky).

Excellent Pizza, Excellent service

unreal pizzas! restaurant was super but they managed to get us a table pretty quickly. woudl recommend the special and cheesy dough balls, mouthwateringly good!

Great date night venue with the girlfriend. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Plus its now the best pizza I’ve had in Nottingham

probably the best pizza i've ever had topped woth great service and a reallu loveky atmosphere. we went on saturday - restaurnat had a really good vibe. i would recommend the Salame pizza and cheesy doigh balls. my friend has a gluten free pizza and said it was the best gluten free pizza shes ever had

Toilets were disgusting. Cracked tiles, sinks and doors hanging off and smears all over the wall. If this restaurant was inspected for their hygiene rating they would be closed down immediately. Had to wait over an hour for the food which was such a shame because it was actually really good.

Best dough balls we’ve ever had, popcorn halloumi was a great addition, and pizza menu was just the right mix - great range of veggie and meat options. Sach was a fantastic front of house.

Staff did their best but had clearly been screwed over by management. The food was great, had it not taken 1hr 15mins to arrive. Three staff (including the chef) had been left to run the entire restaurant, which was clearly a nightclub with a restaurant bolted on. The toilets looked like they were straight from a Cuban jail cell. Broken tap was hanging off the wall in the men’s so had use the ladies, which curiously had a bath tub (as well as sharp broken tiles on the floor). After waiting an hour we asked if our pizzas were in the oven, they were not. We ended up not paying for the food, which was surprisingly tasty, especially the dough balls! I would avoid with a barge pole, the owners clearly have no care for quality of service, customer experience or their staff. 1 star

Visited Happy Dough Lucky with a party of 5 before an Ice Hockey game and had a dreadful experience. Was shown to our table and ordered drinks, however it took staff over 40 mins to come and take our food order, eventually we had to flag someone down. I'd understand slow service if a place is busy, however it wasn't. Staff stood around scrolling through their phones. The place itself seems like a Bar with a restaurant bolted on as an afterthought and the toilets were a disgrace, whoever fitted out the bathrooms must have given up after 5 minutes. Big shame, as when the pizza arrived it was actually pretty nice! A bit stingy on the toppings but still good. Service let's the place down massively, won't recommend nor will I return.

First of all this was one of, if not the worst services I've ever received from a restaurant. We were the 3rd group into the doors at 5pm. We received our first round of drinks really quickly. After that we were just simply forgotten about. I had to get up to ask for service for food. 30 minutes had passed and people who came in after us were having their orders taken. The pizzas looked lovely, but we didn't pay £17 for a pizza base. Where were all the toppings??? 5 pizzas In total, all lacking decent toppings. Massive let down. I had to once again get up and ask for a second round of drinks. By the time they arrived we had almost finished our food. We asked for the 12.5% service charge to be taken off as their simply wasn't any service on the night. It felt as is if the staff were more interested In having a chat among themselves and taking pictures of the pizzas. And how can I forget about the disgusting toilets with no working sinks or hand wash? All in all, it was a terrible experience and my hopes were really high for this place because of the rave reviews I've read. 2/5!!

(I've realised my original comment didn't post, so writing again) I ordered the pizza online via Just Eat, which did not arrive. I phoned the restaurant number given on Just Eat, which was not a valid number. I then looked up the phone number online, which was the number for a different restaurant. £25 wasted. Very disappointed.

A little wait to order to food but once ordered, food came in no time. Staff were all really friendly and made us feel very welcomed. Having been to Italy countless times i can firmly say the food they produce is of very high quality and authenticity. This is the second time i’ve been and both times i have been very impressed. HIGHLY recommend. Would definitely go back.

I’m still thinking about it a day later. Me and my partner ordered a pizza each, and some of the Pesto dough balls to share. Some of the best pizza either of us have ever eaten. Just really good quality food that tasted delicious. Totally wonderful atmosphere, staff were all lovely and helpful. It’s an absolute recommend - I can’t wait to go back. Many thanks

The pizza was lovely however that was about it. They had no drinks menu so we asked staff and they promoted their new santas grotto drinks. Charged us £11 for a cranberry “cocktail”. It was literally crushed ice with a drop of juice. The pizzas took 1.5 hours to come out and sides were missed. Those who didn’t get pizza had theirs come out within 20 minutes, only just the rest to come out over and hour later. Was a bit weird. Won’t be going back

Stumbled across this brilliant bar/pizza place. Amazing service, perfect pizza and great beer. Can't recommend highly enough. If you are nearby you must visit!!!

Came here early on a Friday. Was given the wrong beer which I think may have been on the turn. The pizza was quite good, (missing the rocket though). They were very understaffed to the point where most people in the restaurant left without food because they had to wait too long to even order drinks or food. Made the atmosphere unpleasant. Restaurant is OK but the toilets in particular are in quite bad disrepair.

Terrible experience. Had a table booked for 10 people at 7PM, got seated no issue. Ordered drinks including 3 or 4 mojitos at £11 each which come in a small cardboard coffee cup filled with about 150ml of fruit shoot and ice, I’ll be shocked if there is actually any alcohol in them. The waiter then decided to take 10 peoples food order and refused to use a notepad, subsequently missing 3 orders of chips and some veggie wings. The pizzas then took over 1.5 hours for just the first 2 to arrive and were average at best. The gluten free menu is the same but at a charge of an extra £6 or so. The ladies’ toilets are lovely with pink flowers and neon signs. The blokes’ looks like a rusty slumdog shack with no soap and the tap handle fell off in my hand. Chicken fingers were delicious though👍🏻

Food was okay but it took over 1.5 hours to come and the weird guy in shorts and flip flops who was the waiter refused to use a note pad for a large group and then got our order wrong plus all the drinks are so expensive and bad

Honestly some of the best Pizza I’ve had since being in Italy. Great quality food & drinks, welcoming staff and warm atmosphere. I’ve been to this restaurant twice and go two different experiences. The first was myself & two friends on a quiet weekday and were the only ones there. The food and drinks were made by the same person however this wasn’t an issue as they were both amazing. The menu has a few choices of starters and you have to try the dough balls. There were only a few mains all of which are pizza for £13.5 but this is very well priced for the quality. The second visit was on a very busy Saturday and we were lucky to get a seat in the bar area. The food as always was amazing however it did seem like they needed and extra member of staff as the manager was running round somewhat frantically but he was very nice and welcoming to everyone. The house larger is very refreshing and the cocktails definitely hit the spot. It’s probably best to book especially for groups larger than 3 people.

Unbelievable. Pizzas were incredible, would highly recommend having garlic aioli to dip the crusts in to. A pizza and 2 starters was perfect for 2. Will definitely come again!

I’ve moved from London to Nottingham and I’m on the search for a good pizza place. Wood fired is the best pizza in my humble opinion so i was excited to see one here in Nottingham. Alas, the two pizzas we received were more “wood cremated” than wood fired. The result of eating the blackened pizza means it imparts a very bitter taste.. The toppings were okay but not great. This means the pizzas at £13.50 each is not good value. I really wanted to like it but my pizza quest continues..

They accepted our order on Deliveroo, kept extending the delivery time and then cancelled over an hour later with no explanation. If you’re too busy or don’t have the correct ingredients or something, then don’t mess your customers around by accepting the order in the first place! Now we’re going to be eating at like 10pm

Twice now my order has been not been delivered. I like to support local businesses, but the service here has been terrible. The second time, I was waiting nearly two hours and cancelled it. Don't take on so many orders if you can't fulfill them!

This is really a bar that serves nice pizza. When viewed in that way it's much better. As a pizza restaurant it's not great. Food was nice, pizza and chicken fingers very good. Service was average. It's a bar atmosphere with bar toilets.

We booked here for a friends birthday, turned up and it was shut. I've always highly recommended this place but not anymore.

Beware although gluten free pizza alternative is offered on the website it forgets to mention it will cost £4.50 extra per pizza !!!! I know gluten free is more expensive but £4.50 ,so can't comment on quality of pizzas as we walked out

Really small place so did have to wait about 45 mins for our table which wasn’t an issue as we had a drink at the bar. Friendly service and pizza was well worth the wait 🙌🏼 As others have said the toilets are absolutely gross & in desperate need of a refurb but if you can get past that then the pizza is fab!

First time going here ! The owner is so so lovely !! The food was amazing and the service was exceptional ! Loved it! Only issue is the toilets need some attention!

Had a horrendous experience here - waiting 45 mins for a table mr friend had booked for her bday and the way the chaps running Happy Dough Lucky handled it was dreadful. I didn’t get the impression it was malicious just that they had no idea what they were doing. My advice would be to sort out a booking system that works and you can deliver on.

Had Happy Dough Lucky at the Ay-up Nottingham independent market last weekend. Great quality ingredients and the dough was soft and tasty. The guys serving were really friendly too. Oh, and the garlic aioli dip was totally worth it...

Shockingly bad experience. We arrived about 10 minutes early for our booking at 9pm and were told that our table was still occupied, but we could wait in the bar area, which was fine. After 40 minutes, the group at our table had "just asked for the bill" and were "leaving soon". Another 30 minutes passed, and the other table had paid but hadn't left. Eventually, enough other tables had left that the staff could move two other tables together for us. The manager was unwilling to ask a table that had finished eating and had paid to move to the bar as there was another sitting as he "didn't want to rush anyone" but will happily keep you waiting for your table for over an hour. Once we had ordered pizzas, it turned out that they are only able to make two at a time, so it took quite a while for our whole table to get their food, undercooked as it was. Though the pizza was nice, there was far too much sauce, making them very soggy in the middle. When it came time to pay (past 11pm) most of the staff had gone home, so it took a while for us to find anyone to take payment. We did complain at the time and got a discount, hence the one star. On top of all that, the men's loos was one of the grottiest restaurant loos I have ever seen.
