Piccolino in Nottingham

we waited well over the average to order drinks and food and would have waited longer if it wasn’t for me giving the waiter the nod. i ordered a glass of Malbec an was charged £25! The food was not impressive at all, wife and i had the same dish, carserecce con pollo, no way was it cooked fresh, the broccoli was defo microwaved, burnt the roof my mouth, very dry, pasta was bland and the overall dining experience was definitely not experienced, made better food at home. lesson learned, defo wont be back,

It was a special experience in this restaurant, especially since I brought my friend who came for the first time in Nottingham, the food was delicious, we tried three different types of pasta, with salmon, king prawn, and tomato with cheese, and I want to send my special thanks to the waitress (Lucia) because she served us perfectly, especially with some of our preferences that we did not want any type of wine in our dishes, so she went and double check that it was not in several times, so I hope that she will be rewarded for what she deserves for her amazing hard work.

Authentic Italian restaurant, with genuinly friendly stuff and great pizza - the one, you know, that's worth going to Nottingham for. :D

Something has changed at Piccolino. Had never had a bad meal here in many visits, but recent experience was very poor. Frito Misto was excessively covered in thick batter, tuna fillet dish was overcooked, crab tortellini were undercooked and underseasoned with poor quality crab filling and an unpleasant double-cream enriched sauce with pools of oil; this dish was sent back and, credit to them, removed from the bill. All in, getting on for £200 for a meal for two with a modest bottle of wine is not good value. Sorry to say we won't return.

I know it was Christmas and it's a busy time of year . The meal was very very mediocre, the wife's meal was bland and undercooked . Service was slow considering they asked us to not hang around. The waiter kept on saying he saw us in there regularly and it was out first visit . Full of bravado and just wanting tips , it doesn't work like that I'm sorry . Once you lie , you have lost the audience. Unfortunately not a good review for them but true to life .

Brushetta isn't Italian, they do it on normal half slice of bread, the portion was micro, in Carbonara wasn't herbs, crispy bacon, my friend had to wait for new Carbonara, because first on was not eatable at all, never again, it was shame for me, because I have recommended this restaurant.

Myself, a friend and 3 children went to Piccolino before going to Disney on Ice show and the service we received was outstanding. Daniel served us and made our meal experience extra special by making a request to the chef to create the kids pizzas into Disney characters ( Mickey and Minnie mouse) – it was a lovely touch. Thank you Daniel for going above and beyond.

Pretty average pizza, much better round the corner at Pizzamizo. Service good…starter of bread poor and not what I expected. Overall a disappointing experience

Just okay! Grumpy staff bar one - greeting and first impression on walking in - rude! No smiles, ignored and saw us struggle to get in with bags. Food was okay - risotto just okay almost watery, pizza just okay, fillet steak was nice, puddings okay, Pinot blush was very nice! Had to ask for drinks as not checked on to see if we wanted more. Expected more!!

The food was not good , blue cheese salad had no suace and no pear , the pizza with honey sauce was very sweet and to much oil. The bruchata was very small , the food was not good and definitely nit worth 186 pound bill I could cook better

Lovely lunch. Went in to relax and treat myself. The menu is great with many exciting dishes. I had the Wagyu lasagne which was delicious. All the staff were very helpful and Daniel did a great job. Will be back to try more dishes soon!

Over priced and service was disgusting. Tables either side of us were served quickly but my partner and I waited for a very long time.

Thanks to the whole team especially Matteo for fitting us in for dinner Sat 16 Nov. Lovely bar area, great buzz, stylish and warm - the Champagne was lovely. The 25th anniversary Piccolinos are celebrating in 2024 match our 25th wedding anniversary celebrations and we had a wonderful dining experience. Service was spot on (thanks Hannah), attentive and not intrusive. Beautifully judged dishes, well presented. We will return for sure. We loved the fact the staff speak Italian and it was a pleasure to speak la bella lingua Italiana. Grazie!

Mi esposa y yo nos encanta este lugar, la comida, el servicio y el ambiente son increíbles. Últimamente hemos visto un aumento en los precios, lo cual es lamentable. La botella de vino tinto más barata cuesta 32 libras, así que una pasta y lasaña para dos personas cuesta alrededor de 80 libras. Lo siento, pero es mucho dinero para pasta.

Food tastes amazing but small portions. Service not as exceptional as expected.

Me gusta Piccolino's y he estado en algunos pero para mí, el Nottingham es particularmente bueno. La comida es genial y el personal es muy amable, profesional y servicial. Daniel era nuestro camarero y era excelente - nos dio buena y servicial información sobre las opciones de comida y vino. No es el lugar más barato para comer, pero la experiencia definitivamente vale la pena en mi opinión.

This place has a great atmosphere and service, BUT… the food isn’t that impressive, especially for the price range, it’s not unique or really worthwhile, and I wish the portions could have been a lot bigger. The service though is excellent and everyone was nice. They add a service fee onto the bill (just keep that in mind).

Perfect restaurant! We came for my dad's 60th birthday and it was the perfect celebration! All the staff are really lovely and the food was delicious! I would definitely recommend anyone to attend this restaurant for a special occasion!

On being seated we were given a spiel about their 25year celebrations, went on far too long got embarrassing. In this day and age do not like to be called "my lady"....patronising! Food not that good, pizza bases very hard and cheese salad had miniscule amount in it.

A lovely Italian chain! Food was impressive and service was very authentic and friendly. First time trying osso buco Reasonably priced as well! It was a touch under seasoned for my palete but they have to cater for everyone! Would definitely go back!

Very nice restaurant, I've walked past it a few times and never thought to try before, but I'm glad that I did. The restaurant is bigger than it looks on the inside. It is smart and nice, but welcoming to children. They have a kids menu and a great adult menu. The food is very good and the wine selection is excellent. The portions are large and really good value for money. The staff are attentive and it has a really nice atmosphere. I'd definitely recommend as a place to try for couples or families.

My brother and I had a delicious lunch here a couple of days ago. Very friendly staff and very accommodating. Daniel was especially entertaining. My only quibble would be the piped music being a bit loud. I will definitely eat here again.

Had a beautiful lunch with the family. Can recommend the Tuna a new dish on the menu. We were served by Daniel who was a joy, so passionate about getting it right for the customer.

Left it a few days before posting and fully recognise I should have made my dissatisfaction known at the time. That said, I've meant to visit here for ages and when I finally got around to it was immensely disappointing. The reception/waiting staff were smart and attentive and the dining room pleasant and busy. My bruschetta was ok but that's all. Tomatoes piled on a small piece of 'sourdough' which looked and tasted like Mothers Pride! We were denied BOTH our first choices for a main course from a fairly limited menu: Poor. We chose Caesar Salads which were literally swimming in dressing. I had very little chicken and my partners dish was overloaded with it. We were then given the bill for the neighbouring table .... schoolboy error. Piccolino's .... at these prices you need to up your game ....so disappointing!

A great welcome from the team. I use other picolinno restaurants a lot and on arrival they knew this and welcomed me with a drink. Very simple but made for a much more personalised service. Thank you

We were in Nottingham to celebrate Birthdays. On arrival we were greeted and looked after as soon as we stepped in. We were treated to prosecco at the bar and then seated. The food was amazing. For starter we had each variety of the garlic breads, which were all amazing. For mains we had a pizza, 4 seafood pastas and a creamy pasta all equally delicious. After a little rest we just about had room for a dessert and they did not disappoint. The chocolate fondant, foil wrapped choux bun, panne cottage and tiramisu were all delicious and they were happy to pack up one dessert that one course too far. We were not rushed and the restless very busy with diners still arriving at 10pm. I would highly recommend and it was the perfect place for a birthday celebration.

I wouldn't use superlatives however certainly very good. The backdrop of Weekday Cross seems to make this venue and would recommend the Tiramisu.

Greeted by a very helpful member of staff who told us about the QR code and 15%discount on a Tuesday night. Very extensive menu almost too much to choose from . A selection of retro dishes from the 25 anniversary menu I had melon and Parma ham as a starter . The portion of Parma ham was huge. My colleagues all had fantastic starters as well For main I had a breaded chicken which rather understates just how good it was.

This restaurant has a lovely ambience, and the staff are attentive. However, when four waiters ask you what you are going to drink, them fail to bring it, that is disorganisation. The food looked promising from the menu but I think we got leftovers from lunch - overcooked chicken livers for starter, similarly overcooked seafood in our pasta dishes. Come on guys, both these types of dishes take a max of 5 minutes to cook so I can only conclude that the kitchen it as disorganised as the wait staff. A job waiting for anyone with more knowledge or experience!

I had booked a meal for my bf’s birthday.. The service was really good, the staff was super friendly and the food was amazing! They also brought out a Tiramisu with a candle and sang happy birthday which my bf didn’t expect and had loved. Well taken care of throughout the night.

This is a wonderful Italian restaurant with the feel of a family restaurant with wonderful food and wine as well.

Tuesday Aug 20th first visit to this chain. Staff were very attentive and did not rush us at any stage. Good range of food. Alot of tables. The meet and greeter told us of the many advantages of downloading their ap which amongst other offers gives 15% discount on Mondays and Tuesdays. My OH asked for spaghetti bolognese which was not on the menu...no problem. She thoroughly enjoyed it. I opted for lasagne which I found to be very tasty however it was unlike other lasagne I'd had as it seemed be short of pasta. Finished with a shared portion of tiramassu which was delicious. We will try the restaurant nearer home in Manchester.

I was in Nottingham this weekend with my partner and we decided on Italian food, we were not disappointed. The food was divine, the staff were so efficient. We had a chance to chat with the manager Vito and I'll say he's very welcoming and skilled at the job.

The only good thing about this restaurant was my cocktail...crap smary waiters ...average food..completely and totally overpriced...if your female and want to be patronised this is the ideal location...

We had a lovely time celebrating graduation. Great food and and drink and atmosphere. Paulo was a brilliant server and we had a lovely time.

Booked for lunch. Two courses £20, three for £25. Starter OK. Eschewed Pizza or Pasta and opted for Feta salad. Tiny portion. Two cubes of Feta! Two 10p sized slices of new potato. All three meals were the same. £66!! Never again.

Daniel was genuinely the best sever; he was nothing but attentive and genuinely cared about us - and the other people he served. If I could be even 1% of the server he was I would call that a win. Genuinely, amazing food and great price. PLEASE GO HERE! It’s so good!

Food was delicious and the server was so kind and attentive. This was for my graduation and nothing was too much trouble for them — we arrived before our booking time and they made room for us. They also gave us a bucket and glasses for a bottle of champagne that we brought in free of charge. Yeah, really good service. Left a generous tip to reflect that. Really recommend the bruschetta con gamberoni, or something sweeter then go for the dolci per amici — hope I remembered the name correctly, but it’s a mini sharing dessert platter. I wasn’t so keen on the carbonara but other than that it was a great meal and lovely graduation celebration, thank you Piccolino Nottingham.

We had a celebratory meal for my sisters graduation here last night. The food was amazing and although the restaurant was very busy everything was bought out in a timely manner. Daniel was our waiter who went above and beyond to ensure my sister had the best celebration possible. He took his time explaining the menu to us and making excellent recommendations. All in all a fabulous meal

Daniel is a flipping great waiter. Gave us a memorable experience and clearly values customer experience. He is a massive asset to Piccolino Food was fab.

Firstly I found the team very accommodating we arrived earlier than our booking and the team got us in the service was very good the food excellent and it finished off a very memorable day as my daughter graduated in the best possible way . WELL DONE

Wonderful couldn't ask for more. I had delicious vegetarian option. Apart from maybe graduation cocktail on the day of graduation! #bitstingy 😘. On the whole, very very good.

We again enjoyed an excellent lunch at Piccolino last weekend. The food was fresh, well cooked and excellently presented, with attention to detail. All four in our party were delighted with all courses and, although the bill was hefty, we appreciated the delicious lunch experience again.

This was our first time at Piccolino but certainly will not be our last. Our waiter, Danielle, was very friendly and attentive to our needs and added as much to our fabulous experience as the food. The food itself was tasty and perfectly cooked, especially the Ox cheek.

Luxurious ❤️‍🔥. But not too posh. Freindly staff. Delicious food. Strange music 🎶 🥸. Could only hear the bass 🔊. Unusual for a dining experience. Perhaps some modern classical without bass ?!? Good location for us, staying at the leonardo hotel, we walked to this restaurant. We booked our table in advance.

Food was all perfectly decent, and the staff were very friendly and efficient. Expensive for what it was though (portion sizes were relatively small), and nothing to get excited about in terms of flavour, etc. I probably just made a bad choice, I'm sure there are much better things on the menu than what I had. I won't be in a rush to return, but a solid 3 out of 5.

Excellent quality of food with Brilliant customer service

Just had the risotto alla caprese. I tried it first in piccolino Liverpool about 2 months ago. It was so nice that when I was in Birmingham a few weeks later, I thought I'd give it another try. Whilst it was tasty, it was not as good as Liverpool. So here I am tonight in Nottingham going for round 3. This is by far the best of the 3. It was absolutely delicious. Thank you chef x

Disappointing Birthday meal. Food is nice but doesn't warrant the price compared to other restaurants in Nottingham. Drinks came out after starters were finished. Main came out what felt like 5 minutes after starters. They gave us the desert menu but after 20 minutes of no service we decided it wasn't worth it. Waiters seemed friendly when you got to speak to them but almost felt like they were blatantly ignoring us. Wouldn't go again personally.

Really enjoyed the food it was exquisite. Was very busy so it was a little hard to talk to the staff. Really enjoyed overall.

Service is brilliant lovely staff, very accommodating and helpful. The food is where it was disappointing. The starter of the bread and olives were fine- nothing wrong with them. But a very tiny portion of olives. The pasta was unfortunately very bland and a huge plate that takes away from the tiny portion. The food was disappointing…Especially for the price. 5/10 for the food 9/10 for the service

Very disappointing and expensive. Requested table with plenty of room but put on a cramped table next to a wall to start off and then told we could have our pick of the many vacant tables! Waited over half an hour to be served. Went elsewhere for more food and drinks

We went for a work dinner as a group of 9. I had tagliolini with truffle which tasted very good, I just wish the sauce was a bit more creamy. Still, I’d have them again. Daniele, who was serving us for the night, went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time. Red Valpolicella definitely to try if you like red wine!

We went for my Grandson's 6th birthday (His choice) they made it very special for him,amazing food a great atmosphere and at the end everyone joind in and sung happy birthday to him it was very special 10 out of 10 Poccollinos!!

Just the best place to go in Nottingham for a fun lunch or a romantic evening or to catch up with friends. We live 40 miles away and come back time after time. The food is amazing, the staff are amazing, the choices of wine are amazing. I guess you already know, we are amazed (but table 16 is ours) 🤗🤗

You didn't fail I've only sampled the food (it was awesome btw) I've not been inside to see how good the service or atmosphere is because I'm the homeless guy in the doorway next door. (Hahaha, hope it's ok and doesn't impact either business in a negative way)
