Piccolino in Nottingham

Had a lovely dinner for a friends birthday our waiter Danalle really made our experience. I’ll definitely be returning due to the service. I couldn’t fault our waiter super attentive and charming.

Booked in person and then an hour later they phoned to say we can only have a bar table so popped back in to check it out, was told we can have a bar table in the centre so all was ok, when we arrived at our booking time we were told it was no longer available to us, the young waiter was extremely rude and no apology given he just walked away… said waiter really needs to work on his people skills as clearly lacking in customer training, absolutely a disgrace to the business. Will not be recommending due to the incompetence of that particular waiter.

Couldn't fault this place. Great service, great wine and exceptional lasagne. Price was reasonable for decent quality food.

We came here for a colleague's leaving do. Danial really looked after us and was an amazing attentive waiter. The food was lovely, authentic Italian and the atmosphere was 10/10. Absolutely would recommend for a date or group event 😊

Went with my partner for date night we were greeted on the door and were escorted to the bar to have a drink before being seated at our table. Very friendly staff and great service, the cocktails we had were delicious! The food arrived promptly however, the carbonara was burnt. The dish itself tasted and smelt burnt so we didn't touch it but the ceasar salad and pizza were very good. We didn't recieve any complimentary drinks or have the food removed from the bill which isn't expected but always nice to make a returning customer.

We ordered pizzas and pastas and all was nice. However service by waiter daniel made the experience incredible and very fun

Lovely food. We ate about 4.30 so quiet early so wasn't too busy. Lot of staff wandering around with nowt to do watching you eat which was a bit uncomfortable for me but other than than was lovely.

This was our first visit to Piccolino. I went with my daughter and three year old granddaughter for an early dinner. The service was superb throughout the entire meal. Every member of staff was polite, efficient and cheerful. And everyone made a point of engaging with my small granddaughter, which she loved. We ordered a range of starters and main courses all of which arrived quickly, and tasted delicious. My daughter also commented on how good the wine was. A special thank you must go Daniele, who was our main waiter. He was the epitome of a professional waiter, and again, went out of his way to chat to my granddaughter, which made her feel included, so she enjoyed her meal, which allowed us to enjoy ours. She even had to find him and give him a hug when we left. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Although this was our first visit, it won't be our last. Grazie to all the staff.

We've come here on every special occasion (graduation, birthdays, anniversaries, etc) and come with friends and family from every walk of life. Never had less than the perfect experience.

Visiting family in the area and they highly recommended this restaurant. Authentically Italian and they had a really great menu selection and were accommodating for children. We were a larger group (8ppl). I’ll start off saying that all of the food was delicious! However, our service started off absolutely horrendously. We waited around 10 minutes before we had to ask the host for menus. It was another 10-15 minutes before we had to flag someone down to get some water. That individual did not seem happy to have to attend to us and was quite dismissive. That requested water didn’t arrive until we had been sat for 50 minutes, needed a follow-up request with a reminder for it and it wasn’t even enough for the whole table when it did eventually arrive. Our server, who showed up after 30-35 minutes of us having been sat, didn’t greet or acknowledge us, just straight to asking us what we wanted. This server had been hanging around our table area during the entire time we were there, slowly setting up an adjacent table and conversing with other workers. We ordered some appetizers and when they arrived, one was incorrect but when we politely noted the error, our server said that’s what we ordered as that is what she had entered on her screen. A couple other members of our party mentioned they heard the correct order but she stood firm saying we were wrong. Another server came to assist and asked us if we wanted the correct item. We didn’t want any further delays so we kept what they delivered as we wanted to get some food into us, yet asked to have the correct item brought. We were charged for both. After having our mains arrive, another server, Daniel, took over and the service went very well from there. We were able to order more beverages and water and he checked in to ensure the food was to our liking. He was very professional, polite and competent and rescued our dining experience. Our family who lives in the area go here regularly and noted that this was a not a common service experience however it was very disappointing for all seeing as 2/3 of our time there was spent dealing with that awful woman.

Visit this restaurant every time we are in Nottingham and it always delivers. Fantastic food, great selection of both food and drinks with authentic Italian food. My partner is Italian, and it is a pleasure to see him eating in a restaurant that he truly enjoys. Daniele was attentive to us in service today, and a very cheerful guy to have in the team. Highly recommend and will be visiting again.

We had a fantastic night out at Piccolino Nottingham. Our server Daniel is charming, attentive and we were so well looked after by him. We had antipasti, olives to start with and king prawns mussels spaghetti which was fresh and packed with flavor. We finished off with a bottle of wine. Would definitely return !!

We are Italians living in the UK over 24 years. Some times U miss home and wish you could be in Italy for one evening. Tonight was a night like that for my daughter so we took her out to a teat at Piccolo. It was the first time we are out for Italian in Nottingham and we randomly picked Piccolino. My daughter had a pasta Al pomodoro and I had a glass of Wine. As we came in we where greeted by boss Matteo, he was lovely as it's comes, He made us feel special and we had one of our best time out of our life. Thank you Matteo. Thank you Piccolino.

We had no booking but they gave us a high table which as a couple we didn’t mind. (Mother’s day) Service was really pleasant and although a very busy place staff all look happy to help and are friendly. We really enjoyed the food for main. Fish and chicken dishes great. The starter was very salty. Although i admit i never cook with salt so that maybe just my taste. We enjoyed good service a relaxed mid afternoon meal. (not rushed like some restaurants). We would definitely go back next time we go to Nottingham.

I have been looking for an authentic Italian restaurant, in Nottingham, for a while now, however been always disappointed. That is not the case for Piccolino in Nottingham. We’ve been warmly welcomed at the entrance. Service has been beautiful and entertaining, thanks to Daniel. Wonderful soul must say. Daniel has ensured everything went smooth and kept warming us with a smile and a nice chat, whether it was in Italian or English. Ambiance was lovely, very busy but very nice. I had pizza Capricciosa, which I must say, was delicious. My husband had spaghetti ai frutti di mare and you could tell it was fresh and super tasty. We finished the night with tiramisù and been surprised with a beautiful quote as well, as we were celebrating our anniversary, must say, I can’t wait for the next time!! And Daniel, thank you again, it’s been fantastic meeting you! And to everyone else with whom we interacted!

We were in Nottingham visiting family & when it came to dinner Piccolino looked like a decent enough place from the outside so we decided to give it a go. When you have no prior knowledge of a restaurant you go in hoping for the best but it can be a bit of a lottery. However we were pleasantly surprised with Piccolino. The service was friendly & attentive without being too in your face & the food was excellent. Two of us are very fond of liver & bacon so we jumped at the chance of fegato alla veneziana which was really good. So, food & service excellent & not too expensive either. Don't understand why it doesn't have a better Trip Advisor rating. I'd be more than happy to eat here again.

My daughter studies at university in Nottingham, and for her birthday I travelled for nearly two hours to take her for lunch……and it was well worth it! I wanted to go to a Tapas restaurant but she wanted here; the food and service was excellent; the setting lovely and relaxed. I will definitely be back and will be bringing more people!

Nice place. Recommend the salmon pasta and the calzone. The sharing dessert is worth getting too. Waiters are friendly and fit you in even if it's busy.

They didn’t have the wine I had chosen from their wine list. I then had to drag information about the alternative wine options from the totally disinterested bar person. As it turned out this substitute wine was pretty grim. Final insult , they automatically added a 20 per cent tip to the bill! Only discovered this when querying which wine they had actually billed me for. I would suggest avoiding this establishment or at least be very mindful about their practice of loading the bill by 20 per cent , especially considering the poor standard of service they offer.

Me and my partner came for Valentine’s Day, they didn’t have a lot of staff on considering how busy of a day in hospitality. None the less, all the staff were amazing and made our table and all others feel very special, especially our waiter Daniel, he was so lovely and such an amazing waiter who made our evening great for us. A massive shout out to him and the chefs for our meal. Thank you again!

It was absolutely rammed for Valentines, we had a fantastic waiter called Daniel who despite the busy restaurants was always willing to help with a smile and even manage a few jokes despite how hectic it was. He really made the experience!

Our first visit here but it won't be our last. We arrived without a reservation after seeing an article in the Evening Post. Can't say enough about it, highly recommend.

Service was great, our waiter was very friendly and accommodating. The food was mixed; our starters were great, and my girlfriend’s main was excellent (salmon tagliatelle) but my seafood pasta was pretty bad. Tasted mainly of salt water, the seafood itself was really chewy and flavourless, and the sauce was bland. However, I think this was probably a one-off as the other reviews here look great.

One of the best Italian places I have ever visited outside of Italy. I would recommend the carbonara and the mixed platter of sweets at the end.

Popped in on my own for a nice leisurely meal. Last time I was there I dropped about £75 on food and wine (on my own). Place was 3/4 empty at 6:30 pm. Was asked if I had a booking - nope. After some ‘humming and hawing’ I was deemed worthy to enter but they’d need the table back in an hour. The place is massive and there is no way they’d need to kick out a single diner at 7:30 pm on a Thursday. I walked. Went around the corner to Lagan - awesome new Indian tapas restaurant - who were happy to have me. Sorry, Piccolino, but never again.

After arriving a little late to our booking, we still were able to be seated. The drinks and food were delicious and our waiter Daniel was super pleasant and passionate about serving and making sure everyone’s taken care of. Will definitely be coming back again:)

I was dining here to celebrate an anniversary with my partner. We were served by Paolo who really went above and beyond to make our evening special. Super friendly and professional service. The food we had was delicious. My partner had a steak and I had a truffle pasta, both were cooked to perfection! Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Nottingham.

I could honestly say this was truly disgusting food. My Duckworth definitely microwaved am I Brockley I wanted to complain, but I was with a family for Christmas so didn’t want to seem rude but honestly display should be shut down So disappointed the menu was so big and vast, which made me question that they could do everything the dark was fried deep-fried, and then heated in the microwave for sure Dont go here until they change

Went for our anniversary, we had a starter of Pane fino all'aglio with the tomato and basil and I'm not a big fan of tomatoes but it was one of the nicest garlic breads I've had in a long time for our mains we had Taglitelle Al Salmone and Continda and would highly recommend both. The stuff was very lovely, me and my friend came in on a very busy night without a reservation and they still managed to find us a lovely table with minimal wait. The food was amazing, my friend had the Bolognese and the past was so smooth, I had the diavola pizza which was amazing and spicy. The cocktails were just perfect. But what made the night perfect was how amazing the stuff was.

The restaurant has a sophisticated, dimly-lit and relaxed ambience. Considering how great our food was, I'd say that the prices are relatively reasonable, but it's worth noting that there are some higher priced items on the menu (i.e. Lobster & Steak, Tomahawk, the usual). There is quite a nice variety of Gluten Free options, and the staff was very accommodating to any additional changes. Huge shout-out to our server, Daniel, was a complete blast, which added to the overall experience of the night as he was cracking jokes and engaging in pleasant conversation at any opportunity; every member of staff we interacted with was polite, friendly and well-mannered.

It's my 50th, but they've practically run out of most things that you'd want to enjoy on your big one. It was funny cause I said what do you have, they said everything else, then as I ordered it transpired they don't. Shame. It's really poor as the front of the house should have reeled off everything they don't have before we sat down. It's Christmas so you'd think they'd have planned better so it's pretty hard to let them off the hook on this one! Update: Went for the Ox tongue, it was good. Still smarting about the dishes they've run out of.

Staff incredibly attentive, couldn't ask for better service. The food however, overpriced and overrated. One meal had to be returned to the kitchen, it tasted as if the cream sauce had curdled. Other meals were nothing special either. Disappointed.

I just had the best pasta ever!! I had Paccheri All'Arrabbiata and it was decilious! The sauce was just the right level of spice with the chilli, garlic amd tomato pasta sauce. I really recommend this, especially if your vegetarian. The waiter, Daniel, was very welcoming, polite and attentive. Thank you for a wonderful evening!

I'm angry that the chain decided to end the loyalty card scheme arbitrarily and basically stole the value that I had accrued over many visits. What a way to reward loyalty.

I came to Piccolino for my friend's birthday. Lovely aesthetic and the vibes were nice. The food and drink menu was not over crowded and it was easy to navigate. They were very busy but we were still well looked after by Daniel. The girls and I are already planning our next visit.

Not often we dine in the city but when we get the time it has to be piccalino! Food is always cooked and taste to perfection, last night's meal was just delicious!! One family member said her Ox cheek was the best meat she'd ever tasted.

Good service, but the food was distinctly average and so it felt expensive for what it was. I'd recommend one of the well known chain restaurants instead and save yourself a few quid.

Had a lovely time for my girlfriend’s birthday. The staff were wonderful and made the occasion extra special. Food and service was excellent. Atmosphere was great, but music was slightly loud. Will recommend to friends!
