Carluccio's - Solihull in Solihull

Went there for my birthday dinner a few weeks ago and was again being impressed by the delicious food they offer. Special thanks to our host Silvia, who was very kind and helpful.

Met friends for birthday coffee and croissants. Two requests for water were ignored, in fact the first waitress pulled a face when asked and proceeded to ignore.

Really good Italian restaurant serving excellent food and with very good service.

Our go to place when shopping in Solihull Food always freshly cooked and tasty Staff attentive, and supportive for a good meal experience. Just wish the louder people especially with children would consider others.

Amazing food, we had the set menu food and all was delicious. Starters were bread and dips and garlic foccia, these were delicious. The .ix breads were lovely. My partner for main had penne arrribata and I had mushroom risotto, all were piping hot, full of flavour and tasted amazing. Pudding was a hot chocolate brownie, again full of flavour. The service was amazing, our waitress was wonderful and couldn't do enough for us

We just visited this restaurant to celebrate my dad’s birthday, and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience from start to finish. Despite there only being four tables occupied in the entire restaurant, the service was slow and disorganized. We waited 10 minutes just for our drinks. When our food finally started to arrive, only part of it came. The waiter assured us that the rest of our order would be out in “just five minutes,” but it never arrived. Frustrated and disappointed, we decided to ask for the bill and leave. Now I understand why the restaurant was so empty. I’m only giving one star because it won’t let me rate it any lower. Would not recommend if you’re looking for attentive service or a good dining experience.

The booking did not show on their system but we had an email confirming the booking we had no problems a table for 6 was prepared the service and food was fantastic well done team carluccio

Beautiful and quiet atmosphere. Staff spot on with there pleasant and friendly. Food was excellent 25 years menu which was very enjoyable and cook to standard.

Haven’t been for over 12 months (although is local) as bad experience last time out. Thought worth giving another chance, especially as Tastecard gives 25% off total bill, and it used to be really good. Sadly no shellfish available which ruled out half the menu. Remaining choice limited. We were party of 4 and waitress recorded wrong main for one of our party so had to start again with this and rest of us had finished by time it came - and it was awful, and rest of meals mediocre at best. Will be at least another 12 months before we try again. Best bit was 5ge 25% discount.

Last night myself and my partner attended your restaurant in Solihull, for me it was the 1st time, I have to say how lovely you all were, the lady at the door I presume was the manager was so accommodating, she offered us a choice of table which is was nice, our waiter (so sorry I didn't get your name) was so friendly an not overly attentive. Food was excellent. I had the celebration menu starter and main my partner had the prawn starter and chicken milanese off the main menu. The atmosphere was ambient. Overall we had a really nice evening. Please pass on our Thanks to your team.

Accommodate without a booking, Thank You to the manager. Jessica was our host, when questioned dishes of the menu Jessica was fabulous and explain the menu thoroughly without hesitation. Made us feel at ease. Very attentive to our table; as we had a show booked at the core theatre, Jessica made sure we got there in time. Food was great, dessert was lush, cocktails were fresh and lovely atmosphere. Wish they would add Cannoli on the dessert list 🙄

No longer what it used to be, what a pity…

Carluccio is always on the high end of the range of Italian restaurants in the UK. However, their offer is not fully and truly "Italian", there is a lot of contamination of the original recipes

I ordered a pasta carbonara, terrible! Pancetta very fatty and quality very poor. Very dissapointed about the food. I had been sick since I had this food there.

Pizza came within time slot and was the perfect temperature. We usually eat in Carluccio’s Solihull but the 50% offer was too good to miss. Well done to Just Eat and Carluccio’s for excellent service.

amazing food....always go there when in Solihull this time we were eating from the set menu...we hadn't finished our first course and the waiter came to the table with the mains and rushed us...first time and only time this will happen still tipped the waitress again food amazing and so tasty....just the waiter ( not waitress ) rushed us....

We had a booking here this evening 25/08/24 for a hen party of 10 of is ladies,from start to finsh the service was amazing.Our waitress Jess was so lovely and the manger of the restaurant was also lovely they acommadated us in allowing is to decorate putting up balloons etc would highly recommend carluccos the food was absolutely beautiful thank.you so much for a lovely evening see you soon

We have been to Carluccio’s (Solihull) on a number of occasions & have quite enjoyed the experience. Today however was a bitter disappointment all round. I appreciate it was a fairly busy lunch time but two drinks took 20 to 25 minutes to arrive. We ordered olives & selection of breads as starters to share…the bread arrived before the drinks & the olives way after the drinks just prior to the main course. The real disappointment was the total blandness of both main meals…Carbonara & Chicken Saltimboca. I’m afraid there is no excuse for the Carbonara, literally the poorest I’ve ever had from any establishment anywhere in the world & there was no Parma ham with the Saltimboca. The service I can accept as the three waitresses were run off their feet but I can’t excuse the food.

Came for lunch with a friend. Arrived at 12 oclock -,very quiet, by 1 o’clock absolutely rammed !! As expected good food, good menu and good service !

Visited for a quick lunch while in the area… service was slow and food arrived before any drinks did and was only half full at best… the food was good though and the team where friendly, only down fall was it was very slow and the service was glitchy. Would revisit as is a great site and location and quality food for a branded restaurant.

I visited Carluccio's Cambridge this afternoon with friends, excited to indulge in some Italian cuisine. Unfortunately, our experience fell short of expectations. We ordered four different dishes, and I specifically chose the Rigatoni Piccante. To my disappointment, the pasta was undercooked—hard and firm instead of the al dente texture I anticipated. When I approached the staff to address my concern, a lady working there responded rather dismissively, stating, "Do you know this is Italian food? It’s cooked this way." I was taken aback by her remark but chose to remain polite to keep the atmosphere enjoyable for my friends. I've dined at numerous Italian restaurants before and understand that pasta can vary in preparation, but this was not acceptable. After I informed the waiter about the issue, he assured me it would be sorted out quickly. However, it took 13 minutes for my Rigatoni Piccante to arrive—by which time my friends had already finished their meals. I felt embarrassed as they had to wait for me, and I rushed through my dish without truly enjoying it. To make matters worse, my friends expressed dissatisfaction with their meals as well, citing issues with both quality and taste. It was disappointing to leave Carluccio's feeling unsatisfied and frustrated. Overall, while the ambiance is pleasant, the food quality and service need significant improvement. I hope they can address these issues, as I would love to see this restaurant thrive. Unfortunately, I won't be returning anytime soon.

Got to Solihull location and received prompt attention by staff also in ordering drinks and food.

Visited Carluccios while shopping in Solihull. Good service, nice menu with range of choices including vegetarians. Delicious food.

The food was nice and staff are lovely and the food came out quickly and we were very pleased. We will be back soon See you next time

We visit Carluccios every time we have a special occasion. My son's friend came to visit out of town and so we decided to take him out to show off Solihull...and Carluccios was our choice. Tommy the chef made our food, and it was delicious. Dan the waiter always serves us with a smile and he is also very helpful, assisting in making the right choices for our meal. My decaf coffee ,wow it was great. Carluccios never fails to impress. Thank you for making our get togethers so special.

Terrible service and poor food at lunchtime today. It began with the waiter asking us if we wanted our starters first!! That should have rung a warning bell because it went downhill from there! The starters weren’t great - the lardons were so hard they couldn’t be eaten. We had to chase up drinks. After chasing twice our mains arrived after one & a half hours. Two were awful. Two ok. After two and a half hours we decided not to have a desert or coffee. A really bad experience and very disappointing

I wish to share my disappointment with this restaurant, I had decided to purchase a gift card for my son and daughter in laws 10th anniversary as I had heard good reviews about the food However after going to purchase one at Solihull, I was told by a member of staff that they had no gift cards, no apology no alternative offered, I was about to spend £100 with yourselves! I promptly went next door to Cote and received a gift card and excellent customer service.

Always a great breakfast. My favourite veggie breakfast. Nowhere else comes near!

Visited on a Sunday afternoon, after lunch rush. It wasn't busy. Waiter forgot to put our drinks order through and we waited about 15mins before our food order was taken. Then we waited another 45mins for it to arrive. Not really sure why as it wasn't busy. We were offered additional dessert to compensate which was nice. Just didn't feel like we had eaten a meal after leaving. Had risotto and the seafood pasta. Tasted delicious but the portion was so small. Dessert was delicious.

My Daughter and I had a lovely meal here. They did not have my my Daughter wanted on the menu, however, they made her what she wanted. The vibe in here was great, a real good atmosphere with lovely staff. Will return!

Really good food, not too pricey.

Lovely food, when it arrived, but unfortunately very rude and incredibly slow service from the waitress, the restaurant wasn't busy, but we were certainly made to feel as though we were an inconvenience, I have always loved this restaurant but sadly today's experience has made me think twice about returning, really disappointed

Eaterie with modern decor that has a lovely atmosphere. Lots of people chatting. Kitchen open. You can see the chefs cooking. Food is delicious. Great breakfasts and brunch menu. Eggs. Bacon and mushrooms with spinach... Smoked salmon ...choice of Italian and continental evening menu. Good choice of wine. Service excellent. April 2024. Had delicious lunch.. Confirm duck, green beans and saute potatoes... Pudding.. Lemoncello tart with raspberry sorbet. Was divine. Great service too. Go there!

The crockery is as old, worn, and marked as virtually the rest of the place. It really is in need of a deep clean and an urgent refurbishment. Our breakfast/brunch, however, has improved in quality as has the service, which is more amenable if still hard to get. Meals are still served luke warm on cold plates, which is off-putting. Pastries and cakes are still poor quality, too, unfortunately. A refurbishment with new tables, chairs, crockery, etc. And more staff providing a better service and it might get more than a third full...

We today (Sunday 31st March) dined at Carluccio's and was thoroughly impressed with the excellent service and food quality. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate our needs, especially when we mentioned we were heading to a concert at the NEC. They even sang happy birthday to me in both English and Italian, making my birthday celebration extra special. The prompt service ensured we were able to enjoy our meal without feeling rushed. Overall, it was a delightful experience, and I will definitely be returning to Carluccio's in the future. Grazie mille for a memorable evening!

Dan served up a whole lot of goodies... cakes, pastries and tasty breads. Very nice and very well done. Much appreciated.

We eat lunch at Carluccio's Solihull every week. The service is excellent, especially when Dan looks after us, which is nearly always. He is extremely helpful and suggests alternatives if we are not sure about a side or a dish. We look forward to eating at Carluccios, the staff are very friendly and we have a lovely time.

Went to Carluccio's today for lunch for our wedding anniversary. We ordered from the set menu which saved us almost £20 and the food was exquisite! It was busy but service was still very quick, our food came out fast and fresh. There was a lovely atmosphere and we liked the open kitchen. We would definitely return again to try out other dishes.

Not great. Chicken Saltembocca very dry, plate full of grease. My friends lasagna was cold. Dissapointed😒 . Not the birthday treat i expected. Luckily my friends were good company. Not for me.

Excellent chocolate and Nutella cheesecake. The atmosphere is great. Service prompt to answer any questions and suggest best options for your need. Location is very good in the middle of the high street. Will visit again to taste food too.

Came here on 17/04, had a really lovely time! The staff were really accommodating, especially our waiter Ethan who was always checking up on us throughout the meal, and was very funny too! Food was really beautiful as well. I had the Arancini (pictured) and the Ravioli di Mare and both were gorgeous. I would say that it is on the pricier side, but justifiable because of the quality of the food. Will definitely return in the future.

Is it really so.difficult to cook a steak? My son ordered a rib eye, medium rare. The first attempt was cold and very bloodied, the second would have made a fine sole for a shoe. Certainly not the standard we expect at Carluccio's .

Received some absolutely delicious pastries and bread from Daniel. The donuts are something else they give Crispy Cremes run for the money light yummy yummy and so flavour full keep up the good work. Your breads are so soft to the squeeze and delightful toasted or just buttered. I give you a double thumbs up and a double high five. You got some mouth watering baking going on keep it up.

Very disappointed it was very noisy and food mediocre on this occasion. Probably won't return and wouldn't recover

I'm afraid our feedback on our visit yesterday isn't good. We booked a table for 2.30 and were seated quickly on arrival. However, it was then over 1/2 hr before we were even offered a drink. At that stage we were told the pizza oven wasn't working even though the pizza menus had been placed on the table and 2 of the party had chosen one. Disappointingly, their choices were changed and we then waited a long time for the starters - one of which arrived cold. The mains were ok apart from the seabass which consisted of the smallest fillets I've ever seen and not good value at all. The cold tomato salad they were served with and a handful of rocket with no dressing was really not nice and the tomato salad didn't seem freshly prepared- it was all left on the plate. No one came to ask us if everything was ok with our meal and no one asked us when they came to clear the plates. We usually love Carluccios but sadly not on this occasion. It was an early Mother's Day treat and didn't feel like one at all.

Great meals again. Very busy as usual so service not as quick as it could have been. One strange thing was NO soda available for a white wine & soda drink. We were bought sparkling water with no notice tht they had no soda and not offered any other choices to go with the white wine. Just not good practice. Generally a good experience and more than happy to go back but will ust chose a different drink.

Ordered toasted panettone and poached eggs on ciabatta with smashed avo roasted tomato .. got mine first ( no coffee or coke first) my elderly friend waited and waited. My eggs got colder and colder. Did bring his toasted panettone .. 1/2 cm thick just toasted three rounds. My avo was discoloured no roasted tomato just three slivers .. long teeth cold eggs. Gut take back bring both together. Did complain got 20% off. Not the point it’s about the food … not go back. My Elderly friend said the same.

We are regulars at Carluccio’s Solihull , it is by far the best restaurant in Solihull in our opinion. The food is always excellent , tuna cooked to perfection by Yakeam . Shout out to the whole team and especially Dan who served us on this visit 👍

Our first visit to Carluccio"s Solihull as we're here for the weekend to visit a relative. Really delicious food promptly served by 1st class front of house staff

My Italian father-in-law came to visit. We took him to our favourite restaurant, Carluccio's Solihull. The menu choices suited all our taste buds. The waiter Dan was very efficient and the food arrived soon. The manager Joanna was the highlight. Her friendly and welcoming approach made us feel a part of Carluccio's family. My son just loved the pancakes. Also, thank you to Raluca she has been part of our Carluccios visits for a few years. Visiting Carluccios Solihull is a must, the best Italian restaurant in the UK.

Visited on a Saturday early evening, we hadn't booked and was told rather abruptly that we could only have the table for 1hr 30 mins as they were fully booked. They must use that line so you feel grateful they could fit you in. When we left it was still half empty. The food was very average, my friend enjoyed her pizza but my seafood linguine was quite rubbery and very fishy smelling. The calamari was very chewy Bill came to just over £60 for 2 meals and 2 drinks which is expensive considering we had a pizza and a bowl of pasta. I wouldn't visit again

Great situation in Solihull, however the meal was dreadful….carbonara pizza was awful and the spaghetti bolognaise anything but tasty….tasted like pre made food heated up. Would not recommend at all!

Excellent place when you've gone for a shop in Solihul. Lovely staff and good food. Offer on when I went on Pannetone so might want to see if that's still on..

Came here for dinner with my daughter, I had the lasagne it was ok but I've had better and the portion was small I could have ate 2 ... too small of a portion for the price. My daughter enjoyed her carbonara. Staff were pleasant and helpful

surprised how quiet it was when arriving late morning and shown only breakfast menu. asked whether possible to have soup and told we'd have to wait 20 minutes for lunch menu so decided to try avocado smoked salmon and poached eggs on toast instead. fabulous choice - coffees were good too. made a change from full breakfast we have usually but surprised that it didn't start to really fill up until about 45 minutes later. always enjoy eating here. good value

Our initial service was mediocre, the waiters didn't really bother with us but after 10 minutes of waiting for service we did have a really lovely man take our orders and he was a really delightful server throughout. The food was nice and they are offering a really good discount for Jan 2024 having eaten there at Xmas time. Would return but would like the servers to actually be more accommodating in their general demeanor...

I came here for my birthday and I was blown away by the service and most importantly the food. The staff patiently waited for a late member of my family to arrive and they even offered to keep it warm in the oven. I really hope I get the luxury of coming back to this special restaurant.

Music is way too loud! Even your staff can't communicate with each other properly. Wrong order to our table, and staff actively avoid the customers, so you can't get their attention. Will use the café next door from now on.

A friend and I really enjoyed our meal. The service was very good and the waiter so nice and friendly. Food was nice! Sea bass nicely cooked ! Have been lots of times before and enjoyed it !!

My friend & I had 2 courses & left hungry! My soup was good but the Carbonara pizza was very bland. No taste. My friend's starter was OK. Her main course of lobster tortellini was like a starter! Portion was very, very small. Service was good but wouldn't recommend the food.

Quick to be seated, slow for order to be taken. Ordered from Christmas menu (good variety) at £30 for 3 courses per person. My starter of Aracini was tasty but topped with extremely chilled sliver of cheese. Main course Steak and fries with frozen flavoured butter to garnish. Steak was delicious but not sure about the butter. Desert of Chocolate fondant was excellent. Was one of 3 to 4 couples dining in - early evening.

As a rider went there to collect an order After I arrived they sent an order to the kitchen to make it ready,they just ignored and didn't bother to say how long it would take to get ready.we riders don't get paid for the waiting

I attended carluccio's restaurant on the 11th October for my mums special 60th birthday. I raised a complaint on this official carluccio's website, however i am yet to hear anything back. The customer service was was poor - We waited at least 25 minutes until we placed our order. The was food was cold and bland. For example, seafood pasta had prawn is but did not taste fresh. We have been to carluccio's many times and have always thoroughly enjoyed our meal so much that we decided to attend for my mums birthday . The pizza was soggy and came out cold. The drinks too so long to come out. I hope you're able to compensate us accordingly. I felt our experience ruined my mothers special birthday. Ive emailed x2 times but no response. And submitted a complaint on carluccio's website

We have been so many times but this time it has left us with bad memories. Food was inedible. Had to return and leave hungry. We were told the chef is new but serving this food which is badly cooked to customers was a disastrous experience Never returning back
